50 Questions:
(Found this on Doc Hammer's page. Figured I'd give it a shot too.)

1. What is your name?
Kyle Lee. But I find that boring and want to go by an awesome wrestling name or something like that. Something that would sound cool echoing throughout Madison Square Garden. So if you want to call me Dusty Rhodes or Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka I won't stop you.

2. What color underwear are you wearing now?
Green and blue plaid boxers. They're whats in. In my pants that is.

3. What are you listening to right now?
If we look at the music playing in my head right now (I forgot my iPod at home.) I'd say it's gotta be "Colder" by Travis.

4. What are the last 2 digits of your phone number?
08

5. What was the last thing you ate?
Some non-denominational fried chicken with oh so delicious mashed potatoes and gravy.

6. If you were a crayon what color would you be?
Crimson Red. Always been a favorite just cuz crimson is such a great word.

7. How is the weather right now?
It's Colorado and I've been inside for the past two hours. If i had to guess it's rained twice and now it's a beautiful day out. By the time lunch comes around I'll be getting pelted by hail so that'll be great fun.

8. Who was the last person you talked to on the phone?
Remy. My girlfriend.

9. The first thing you notice about the opposite/same(if your gay) sex?
It may be an overused answer but i stand by it. I notice the eyes. If a girl has honest eyes I'm in. See number 8.

10. Favorite Food?
Any sushi involving eel I'd have to say.

11. Favorite Drink?
Root Beer hands down. You've heard of beer tours at restaurants? I've taken Root Beer tours!

12. Favorite Alcoholic Drink?
Easiest answer on the list. Mixed drink? White Russian. Beer? O'dells Cutthroat Porter or Fat Tire i would say.

13. Favorite place to shop?
The comic store. It's an addiction, bound to stick around, cuz a junkie won't bounce till he hits the ground.

14. Hair color:
It's plain ol' brown but after NDK (I'm planning a certain cosplay this year. My first one.) I'm gonna kick it old school and dye it blue.

15. Eye Color:
Greenish blue and yellow

16. Do you wear contacts?
No. Glasses are my deal. I don't like the idea of poking myself in the eye.

17. Top or Bottom?
Uh... I'm not picky personally.

18. favorite month?
April. For my birthday.

19. Favorite Fast Food?
Honestly? As disgusting as it is I'd have to say Taco Bell.

20. Last Movie you Watched?
The original "Taking of Pelham 123". Half an hour before that it was "Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist".

21. Favorite Day of the Year?
Oh what a dumb question. I'll change it.

21. (revised) Favorite superhero?
Much better and more interesting. I'll say it's gotta be Green Arrow for DC and the entire team of The Runaways for Marvel.

22. Are you too shy to ask someone out?
I usually am but if I just don't over think it i can get it done quite quickly.

23. Summer or Winter?
I hate Winter.

24. Hugs or Kisses?
With my girlfriend? All of the above. With others? I'm down for a hug if you're comfortable with it.

25. Chocolate or Vanilla?
Chocolate is the Rock-o-late.

26. Do you want your friends to respond back?
If they are bored sure.

27. Who is most likely to respond?
People who have something they would like me to read.

28. Who is least likely to respond?
Zombies, Cats, Royalty, David Copperfield, The '78 Los Angeles Dodgers, Mark Wahlberg, The entire state of Arkansas... and many others.

29. What books are you reading?
Actually reading? Justice League of America: Tornado's Path and Walking Dead.
Listening on Audio Book? Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone

30. favorite TV Show?
How I Met Your Mother or Dexter.

31. What's on your mouse pad?
Don't have one buddy.

32. Favorite board game?
A new one i just discovered a couple weeks ago. Apples to Apples rocks.

33. What did you do last night?
Watched the aforementioned movies, talked to Remy on the phone, played video games, read Walking Dead, fell asleep at 2:00 am.

34. Favorite Author?
I'm a fan of Bryans. Bryan K. Vaughan and Bryan Lee O'Malley.

35. Who inspires you?
See 34. Also Pia Guerra, my girlfriend, Chauncey Billups, Ryan Gosling, Tim Schafer, Zach Snyder, Simon Pegg, Micheal Cera, and Edgar Wright.

36. Butter, Plain or Salte...

UPDATE: Fixed the link. Enjoy the "art".
I'm sitting at a computer with the worst monitor I've ever seen (What font is that in? Times New Blurry?), I lost my voice and have a super sore throat, and when i check in on my daily news what do i see.

Brett Ratner to adapt Rob Liefeld opus "Youngblood" as his next project.

To give you a refresher on who Rob "God Gave Me the Ability to Draw Like a Five Year Old" Liefeld, I'll set up a link to a site that paid their lack of respect for the Conan sword owner. Please read it before continuing with my journal. I can wait.

[link]

In that article you will see multiple examples from "Youngblood", along with "Captain America", "X-Force" and other titles this stupid sonofabitch shouldn't have even been allowed to buy, let alone draw. He's the comic industry's Brett Ratner... Wait a minute... They both are talentless hacks who get off from making shitty products so they can talk to women that they would have no chance with in real life, (Which for Liefeld just means that he has to scribble a couple of footless, giant breasted, on point, usually one legged women making out to get himself going but he just wants to share his gift with the rest of the world) and now they're working together? This is more dangerous than that Large Hadron Collider! That's right people, we're dealing with the Small Hardon Collision. Two centimeter peters running head long (pun intended) at each other, bracing for the impact to put them up on the big screen.

Oh! I feel like i need to add the point that Liefeld wrote most of his own shit on "Youngblood". Yup. Alan Moore he is not.

And Brett Ratner? X-men 3. Be an X-men fan and watch that movie and you'll know why he's a tool box. And He's also the same man who took Jackie Fucking Chan from Badass to Oh Fuck He's in This Too?

Fuck them both with a giant belt pouch filled with other pouches and copies of Money Talks and The Family Man.

Rules: Once you've been tagged, you are supposed to write a note with 25 random things, facts, habits, or goals about you. At the end, choose 25 people to be tagged. You have to tag the person who tagged you. If I tagged you, it's because I want to know more about you.

(To do this, go to “notes” under tabs on your profile page, paste these instructions in the body of the note, type your 25 random things, tag 25 people (in the right hand corner of the app) then click publish.)

(DO NOT READ THIS IF YOU ARE EASILY OFFENDED, PLEASE JUST KINDLY POO POO OFF NOW)

1.If you have a sign on your vehicle that says "Follow me to (insert place of business here)", you better only be going there. Otherwise you're gonna get pissed when i follow you to your house and say "So are we here?" And if you have one that says "Follow me to Hooters!", go home and see your wife. Your son misses you and he really wants to show you that he can throw a perfect spiral. He's tired of throwing to his pillow that has DAD written in sharpie on it and is stained with apple juice and tears.

2.When is anime going to get it's Dark Knight. It deserves a faithful live action movie just as much as comics but if people are going to dismiss a good one again (I'm looking at the incredibly faithful Speed Racer movie that it seems no one understood), they might miss their chance.

3.Harvey Dent was absolutely integral to the plot development for The Dark Knight and anyone who says he wasn't is a complete moron.

4.Would you kindly stop calling Christian Bale an asshole if you don't know the whole story?

5. I really miss arcades and that whole experience.

6. Lolcats are funny. Get over it.

7. Family Guy isn't funny anymore. Get over it.

8. I'm really excited about "Watchmen" but I'm afraid that mainstream audiences aren't going to get it. I liked "300" but it was not as layered as "Watchmen". Persians bad. Spartans good. Rape bad. Killing rapists good. This is Sparta. Kill, kill, kill. Die. Charge. That's the whole movie so of course the masses can get on board with it. It wasn't the heaviest of material as badass as it was. "Watchmen" is going to make people want to kill themselves or write. One or the other.

9. Why is it that so many movie makers don't seem to give a flying fuck about the source material? Licenses should go to people who care about the material so we can get a good product, and not more shit. These non-caring, soul-less producers, writers and directors are the reason I'm probably never going to see a Sentinel hunting mutants, why Shia Lebeof is going to play my favorite comic character, why Keanu Reeves is going to play my favorite anime character, and why I'll never see faithful adaptations of Daredevil, Green Arrow, Cowboy Bebop, Justice League, Y the Last Man, Ex Machina, Runaways, Invincible, or The Question.

10. The customer isn't always right. When you go into a place of business, that doesn't mean the employees become your slaves. If they don't cater to your every need, you just need to realize it's not personal. There are actually other customers that need help too. You can wait your turn, if your order doesn't turn out just perfectly it's not the end of the world.

11. There is such a thing as a stupid question. I hear them regularly.

12. I'm a nerd and I'm not embarrassed about it.

13. I don't really understand why pot is illegal. It could save the economy.

14. I love my job and hate it at the same time. If it weren't for the people i work with i would probably have quit a long time ago. But they make every night i work worth it. For the most part customers are cool too. But it's those few complete brainless idiots that make me regret waking up.

15. There's some things that Rule 34 just shouldn't apply to.

16. Rob Liefeld should have his hands cut off for being an abomination to art and a bad name for comics. And don't do anything to stop the bleeding. Ya know what, just kill the fucker.

17. Pokemon is a well made game. Just because it's cute doesn't make that any less of a fact.

18. Angelina Jolie is overrated.

19. The Oscars are retarded and biased just like the Golden Globes. How do you leave The Wrestler and The Dark Knight out of Best Picture and Best Soundtrack?

20. What the fuck happened to G4? It used to be about games but now, it's just shit shows that couldn't get picked up for any other channel. And they broke X-Play! Not cool.

21. Just because you have a nice car or a nice house doesn't make you any less of an asshole when you don't tip.

22. Why do writers insist on killing off superheroes when they feel lazy? Write a story, not an obituary.

23. CSI has to be the height of lazy, procedural storytelling. How is it with Life and Dexter on that...

Let me elaborate... Keanu Reeves is attached to play Spike in a live action Cowboy Bebop movie. NO. This is wrong. It just is. The script, written by a relative unknown, isn't finished yet but is said to be about the events that take place in the first episode. For those of you keeping count, that means three members of the five member crew aren't even introduced at that point of the show. You CAN NOT do a movie about Cowboy Bebop without Faye, Ed, and Ein. They are integral parts to the show and provide a ton of chemistry that echoes throughout the series. Now they say that the first person they'll show is the creator, Shinichiro Watanabe, but it's being made by Fox so what makes anyone think they'll really listen to his input? Lord knows that they'll end up casting Dwayne Johnson as Jet and get Brett Ratner to direct it and set it in modern times. Fuck Fox. They don't deserve a property this good. Just like they didn't deserve Watchmen, and they don't deserve even the worst of the Marvel heroes. Here's hoping they sit on this for 20 years like Watchmen and end up forgetting about it.

Bang.

So i'm pretty bummed out. I saw Pineapple Express. A movie i was really looking forward to. And i came out after the credits rolled pretty happy with it. But upon retrospect i was disappointed with it. I tried to make excuses for it and make it funnier than it was. I was expecting a hilarious, epic action movie. That's what all the critics put it up to be, what all the trailers would lead you to believe, and it just fell so short. Now don't get me wrong, it's a funny movie. Really funny actually. It just feels too scripted at times, and other times like they are just trying too hard to be funny, almost winking at the camera and saying, "Get it? It's wacky but it feels REAL".

But it's not that anyone turns in a poor performance, or the director isn't good, because everyone is really good. It just felt like it was stuck in between being Cheech and Chong and Hot Fuzz and never really found it's own identity. Now with that said, after seeing this movie i have decided that James Franco is a genius. He's the best part of this movie and i would love to see him get more high profile roles that give him a chance to spread his wings now that he's broken free from the sinking ship that was Spider-man. He's wonderful. He has a certain charisma that's magnetic. Especially in Pineapple whenever he's on screen your focus is on him, anxious to see the next little quirk that he created to make his character feel more real.

All in All a solid effort just not what i'm used to expecting from the Apatow crew.
A disappointing 7 out of 10.

Yes i saw The Dark Knight on Friday. I just had to wait a while to gather my thoughts before i could review it. But what's to review? There were multiple times i would look over at my girlfriend and we would be sitting there, mouthes agape, amazed at what was transpiring on screen. If you like Batman, it's for you. Hell if you like great crime dramas, this is definitely for you. I sit here a huge comic fan and i am proud to say that people are starting to get it. They are treating these stories i care about so much with a great deal of respect. And that makes me happy. But just as i'm at the height of my fanboy happiness, I read that Shia Lebeouf is all but signed on to be Yorick Brown in my favorite series, Y: The Last Man. Now i like Shia. Always have. But he simply isn't Yorick. He isn't the character that i have grown so attached to over 10 books. It's equivalent (to me at least) is if Chris Columbus cast Sam Neill as Harry Potter simply because he had worked with him before. It just doesn't fit. But oh well. I'll just have to see the Dark Knight again (Best Movie i have ever seen, BTW), and prepare for Watchmen.

I just got done reading the final book of my favorite comic series EVER, Y: The Last Man. And I'm sad. I really don't want it to be over. This book, just like all 9 before it, was heart wrenching and funny at the same time. I had been waiting for this book to come out for months now and i don't really want to let go of these characters. I have been following their adventures ever since i picked up book 1 two years ago. I relate in every way to the main character Yorick. And all the rumors about the proposed movie trilogy... I swear to GRODD i will go insane if DJ Caruso doesn't cast someone other than Shia LaBeouf for Yorick. He needs to step outside that safety zone he's built with Disturbia and the upcoming Eagle Eye. To accurately portray everything that goes on in this book, you need to cast someone with huge range. My pick is Ryan Gosling. He's been nominated for an oscar (that he should have won. But i digress.), he's played everything from a neo-nazi, an anti-social shut in, a man in love (a must for Y), and a crack addicted teacher, along with many others. This is the most emotional, well written book i've ever read, comic or otherwise. They need to do it justice. It deserves that much.

Even though Harrison Ford is still a better action star than the great majority of actors to ever be in Hollywood, these so called journalists who haven't truly contributed anything to cinema resort to making fun of his age. Nice. That's super creative of you. When you become the most successful and bankable star for the past THREE decades maybe then you can start to make fun of him. Yes Mr. Ford has made a few clunkers, but he is the only star from Star Wars to emerge with not just a career, but a legacy. Yes i liked Indy 4.
If that doesn't become the biggest catch phrase since This is Sparta I will be amazed.

So here we are, the Monday after Iron Man has hit American shores and it's a certifiable H.I.T. It is the 2nd biggest opening for a non sequel, beat only by Spider-man. But what did I think of it?

Wow. When I think about this movie and try to sum it up the only word that comes to mind is just wow. Robert Downey Jr. Wow. Gwyneth Paltrow. Wow. Terrence Howard. Wow. Jeff Bridges. Wow. Jon Favreau. Wow. The incredibly under rated Clark Gregg. Wow. ILM. Wow. This is just an all around beautiful film. Jon Favreau understands who Iron Man is, as does RDJ. They revel in all the story that is laid out for them in the Iron Man, and as Nick Fury points out, Marvel Universe that they can play with in the future. When you watch this movie you can tell it was made by true fans. Nothing sticks out that makes you say, "Iron Man would never do that" or "That makes no sense." There's no Emo Spider-man or Bat-nipple moment that takes you out of the experience.

You get the feeling in the theater that Jon Favreau has made one of the best comic book stories in years, and it just happens to be a movie. Robert Downey Jr. spends nearly the duration of the movie on screen and he doesn't let a moment get past him. He's my favorite part of the movie. His wonderful lines, his badass nature, his charisma. He knows Tony Stark inside and out. You can tell he enjoys every second he has on screen.

Romance has been a tough sell in the comic movies. Audiences are tired of "damsels in distress". A good female lead needs to be a good foil for the hero. Someone who keeps his feet on the ground. Gwyneth Paltrow accomplishes this perfectly. She doesn't buy into Tony's shtick because she knows the real man inside, not the public persona he creates. And that's the part she deep down loves. But She isn't going to give it up to him just because he gives a wink a throws a sly comment. Tony is going to have to work for her love and this is a great first chapter to what will surely bring about more enjoyable scenes between the two.

So what is my verdict? I loved it. Since this is my first review i will let you know that i will grade on a 5 out of 5 scale.
So Iron Man gets a 5 out of 5. A perfect movie that builds a base to set up more wonderful super hero movies.

And i will leave off with a quote from an older lady talking to her son after watching the bonus scene after the credits.

"Ooh. Who's going to be the Avenger?"
Signing out.

Here i am sitting in class listening to my dolt of a teacher, and what do i think? I'm bored. And excited. This is looking to be the best year for movies that i can remember and the BIG GUNS start this Friday with Iron Man. And then next week is Speed F'ing Racer, which i feel like I'm the only one in the world excited for. Then we have Narnia 2: Electric Boogaloo and Indy 4 to round out May.

Then to kick off June we have the reboot of The Incredible Hulk, which gives me chills when i look at the cast and trailer. The next week brings the face off of Get Smart and The Love Guru. Get Smart looks wonderful and faithful to the classic tv show that i love. The Love Guru looks like an "Indian" Austin Powers, and boasts Mike Myers' return to the live action arena since (shiver) The Cat in the Hat. I desperately want Get Smart to win in this battle and Mike Myers to create a NEW character instead of doing the same one in different clothes. And to finish off June we have Wanted and the guaranteed new masterpiece from Pixar, Wall-E.

And we have come to July and we are in full kick ass movie mode now. July 4 sees the return of the king of Independence Day since the debacle known as Wild Wild West. Will Smith wasn't content to become an already established superhero. No, he is a brand new hero that seems like a combo of the drunkenness of Tony Stark and the powers of Superman. Seems like a winning combo. July 11th brings Hellboy 2: The Golden Army. This preview makes me tear up with joy. It's beautiful. But the following week brings my most anticipated movie. Anyone who knows me knows that i'm insanely excited for The Dark Knight. I'm crazy about Batman, Joker, and the whole gang and have read so many of the books just trying to get ready for it. And bringing a whirlwind of a month to a close is the duo of duo movies, X-files 2: I Want to Believe We Are Still Relevant and Step Brothers.

After a lackluster first week with The Mummy 3, August looks to strike back with Pineapple Express. This looks incredibly funny and should show why Judd Apatow is the most successful producer of our generation and Seth Rogen is one of the best comedic actors today. The week after that we see Ben Stiller's return behind the camera and hopefully to being funny with Tropic Thunder. Looks promising enough but then again, so did Spider-man 3.

Then it's kinda quiet for a while with a few possible surprise hits here and there but there aren't any big hyped movies again till November 7th with Quantum of Solace, the new 007 movie. Two weeks later we have Harry Potter 6 of 7 as we see the insanely popular and well made series winding down.

And that's all for this year's big movies. I will be updating my journal with reviews of most of these so stay tuned.

It's three days later and i still can't believe that Heath Ledger died. He was always one of my favorite actors. I looked up to him as an artist and a person in general. He took such pride in his craft but carried himself with poise and respect. Far from cocky, he was humble even in his nomination for an oscar. So often there is this sense of accomplishment found in actors that is almost always misplaced. But you didn't find that with Heath. He was a quintessential example of the artist who is in it for the art, not the money. That's rare. That's why I'm still effected and will be effected for a long time. Rest in Peace sir. You have earned it.
