Apparently, I'm thought to have a pretty cool outfit going for Garou, so that makes me happy on the inside. I'm currently trying to print it out so I can frame it (Yes, I'm that lame), but the only printer I have access to right at this moment is stupid and prints only in b/w. I'll figure it out eventually. Also, in terms of what I need to get done, I've almost finished with my audition for and I think I know where I can get to a scanner, so you'll be seeing that and the 10+ pages I still need to put up. But, of course, life is in the way as usual, so I guess I can only say it'll happen when it'll happen.

Okay, so for those who are watching me, I'm sorry if you just got a spam of "updated" pages from me. I just sent a note to the dA staff, and they came back saying that I did not, in fact, need to mark all of those pages as mature, so I made them not mature. Most likely, I'll ask the staff in the future before I automatically assume that the world would melt from seeing my pages. Ugh.

In other news, I'm still doing more comic pages...in fact, I'm almost to the end of this first scene (Geez, its gone on forever, yet I'm only on page number 24) But, after nearly two years of dawdling, I'm starting to majorly pick up the pace here on my end. Also, after delving around on more sophisticated pieces, I've realized how non-fleshed out my characters are. I mean, sure, some of them will be familiar, and thus have already been given a past and personality, but what about afterwards? What exactly did the events after the games do to them? I thought I already knew this, but boy was I wrong. I've also been fleshing out the main plot itself. Before, it was just assumed they would go on an adventure, and I didn't really dig into the reasons behind it all. The basic shell was there, but the specifics, the moral and ethical implecations, the potential and "real" sacrifices, all of these themes were never touched upon, so I'm going to have to get rid of some of the scenes that now look just like pointless action, in favor of some background and support stuff that will help fill in those details. Themes of loss and suffering were always supposed to be there, but it never truely hit the way it was supposed to. I've now realized exactly what I was doing, and am rectifying the situation. Oh, and any suggestions one might have to help me with my issues would be appreciated.

On another note, whilst searching the interweb, I came across this little gem here -> [link] So I saw this and was all, "THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I NEED!!!" However, it's $300 bucks, and I don't know if Mom will exactly approve of that purchase. Ergo, it's going to take some planning to get it out from under her nose. I might have to pretend it was a gift from my Grunt-y friend, Daishi1. In the mean time, as I said earlier, I'm standing still less and less and getting down to business. I only wish I had done this sooner.

So, I’m back in business. Unfortunately, despite my “free time” over the summer, I didn’t get but one page for CG (my comic) done. This was simply due to the fact that that free time was mostly spent at work and Boy Scouts, which left me dead afterwards. I have however started anew, and working faithfully away.

K, so in comic terms, I’ve gotten to the point where Garou has decided to try to hack the system to disable the lockdown and get out of Lab 03-C. I’ve got the rest of the scene planned pretty much entirely down to pages. There’s just some fine tuning that I’d have to do as I draw them out. In other news, I’ve actually got all of ‘em up to 1-10 drawn up and ready to scan….I need to bring these home to do the words….except then my Mom will explode onto my face once she sees it….so maybe not. Well, I expect that they’ll be up soon though. I’ve been trying my hardest to get stuff done. Oh and I decided to go ahead and not scan up the Xmas pic, and give it to my buds I made it for.

In other news, Thursday I’m getting the DSi, which incidentally will be able to let me access dA better-er. So as soon as I get it, I’ll do an edit to this journal from my DSi. I’m excited. Anyways, so for Christmas I got a few neat things, like the entire 5 piece original Half-Life Collection (HL, Opposing Force, Blue Shift, Team Fortress Classic, and Counter Strike) the last two of which I can't even play since their online server thingy (The World Opponent Network) has died in the ten-or-so years since the game was made. LOL. Also, I got Half-Life 2 Episodes 1 and 2, but not the original HL2, because Mom thought Ep 1 & 2 made up HL2. That's okay, tho, since I can just go out and get the game with Christmas money. YAY! I also got Resident Evil 4 for the Wii (Nearing the end of the Castle level right now) and Crysis, as well as that disc thing the stayed above a borg's alcove in Voyager, and a few other random things. Nothing for the DS, but I'm still working with Pokemon now, so that's okay.

Okay, so our school's year is weird, and the first semester actually ends Jan 15th...so next semester (which starts the Tuesday after that) I'll finally have access to a scanner again...and the funny thing is is that it's the same one I used last year. Geeeez I need one of my own.

Well...I do beleive that's it. Art-wise I've just been working on old stuff I needed to finish, I'll be able to start on 1-6 soon. Hopefully I can get that scanned up soon. Otherwise...


EDIT: Alright, so I bought HL2 the other day, and it's great. Also, I got Steam. So if any of yous guys has Steam, my screename is GarouX...I have the same avatar as I do on here. Problem 1: Can't scan it. I needs a scanner.
Problem 2: My comp's motherboard just fried...yup, fried. That means I now have to fork out over 100 bucks to get a new one. Although now that video card that didn't work should now...That's also the reason I haven't updated for school 'till now. That and the school library's computers were down as well. At any rate, I should be getting my new motherboard next week.

So yah...Spore is awesome! I don't technically have the game, but Mom bought the guide the other day, so that's what I'm drooling over. Aaaaaaaaaand she also took up my DS, cuz I got in a fight with her. I'm pretty sure she's not giving it back (No exageration there. I've either lost it for good, or for a REALLY long time).

Well, I gotta go to class, so be on the lookout for signs of me using scanners, and until next time...

Meanwhile, a little personal stuffs:
The end of last month was none other than my b-day. I'm no officially 16 years of age. No, I'm not driving, cuz gas and insurance costs money that I don't have.
And for the past 2 weeks I've been at Philmont, which, for those of you who aren't in Boy Scouts, is a Ranch that was donated to the BSA so people can camp there. My crew hiked over 70 miles in 11 days. Not an easy feat, considering I live at roughly 700 ft. in elevation, and you start out at 7000 ft. We went up to Mt. Phillips, which on our map says is at 11,736 ft., but that's contested. Anyways, I had fun, but need some rest, ergo, my mood shall stay at "Tired."

As for art, I'm not sure if I said this previously, but don't expect any art 'till school. Between work, Scouts, and Mom, I don't have any art time to myself, so yet another reason I can't wait till school starts. (SHOUT OUT TO FRIENDS: Can't wait to see ya'll there!!!)

So I'm sitting in my last period of the year....WEEEE!!! GO SUGER HIGH (without the suger....hehe, jk)!!!

Anyways, so Summer is officially here, since EVERY OTHER freaking school is out before us. I'm definitly going home to GH3 and playing School's Out, like, 5,234,583,239.3829.394 times. Because that's definitely possible.

On another note, I'm almost done with World 1-2, but unfortunately, I decided to forget it, so I don't get to use the school's scanner like I have been. Oh well. Now that I have been freed from this tyranny, I get to go over to my friends' house, who about 5.863 of them have scanners of magical wonder and doom.

Oh, btw, did you know that 82.475% of all statistics are made up? Well, about 50% of the time, at any rate.

My char is Garou Verroq, a squirrel anthro who was thrust into the worlds of the video games. One of the main themes I'm goin at is cliches and how amazingly cliched they really are, so expect familiar elements such as, a party, cheesy bad-guys, and backstabing cretins.

However, don't expect the actual comic to come til later. I'm still new at drawing, and I want to make sure I'm really down pat before I do anything permanent.

Things to come:
I'm having a huge storm for a comic involving a guy who gets knapped into a huge complex of worlds...very interesting.
Ergo, you should be seeing my first masterpieces as soon as I get a scanner, involving character sketches etc.

Anyways, deal with me for now, I may even sneak over to a friend's house to scan these onto a Flash Drive or something...
