Really really really bad day.

I'm sorry for making this non-art related but I kind of need somewhere to vent. So it's about to get personal.

As many of you may or may not know, sewing is my full time thing. I study as a seamstress part time and the rest of the time is commission work. I have gigs in between but for the most part that and being a wife are my jobs.

Something really bad happened today, I can't post about it too much but We're pretty stressed out right now.

Due to this, Art trades will be closed and I need to postpone the contest for a bit. I'll still be leaving it open for entries and the like but as of right now I can't give a cut off date until I know I can afford to have prizes.

I'm so sorry.

I'm not going to be around my computer as much because I'll be working on anything I can get my hands on. I'll still be checking it every day but if I don't get back to you right away, this is why.

I'll also be making much more of an effort to finish up commissions more quickly and hopefully be accepting more if anyone is interest.
I'll give you the best deal I possibly can, bigger discounts for more plushes.

I've also updated my Etsy with several plushes you may have seen before in my Gallery so check it out! I'll be adding more as I can both on Etsy and here for sale.

I guess all I can ask is if you know anyone who's looking for anything made, please pass the word on or at least pray for us.

Well, not too much to report. This week has been a little hectic. I ended up having to completely clean out and reorganize my sewing room. It's still a bit messy but good enough that I can get work done. I also have more space for my machine so this pleases me.

I've been working to get commissions cleared away, the top 2 should be done before Thursday and the Fabric for the GS set comes in on Tuesday.

Last night I was a really big baby and got freaked out by 2 light bulbs burning out.
One after another... in 2 locations... from 2 different packages (so it wasn't like a faulty package I guess)
I hate being home alone at night ;~; I get so paranoid. But I have really close neighbors who are right there if anything happens, plus I'm in a pretty safe neighborhood but I don't get why I still freak out easily. ahh..

Wow, Well the KHR cosplay event went pretty ok.
We're a bunch of Fangirls (and like 2 guys)

So AX huh...
There was a lot of bad, a bit of good, and a whole lot of Con.
I don't particularly care for this location because of how hard it is to get to food, but otherwise it was alright. My biggest pet peeve was you couldn't find the cosplay meets.

Let's begin with the embarrassment shall we?

The Pro's of the con:
- Got to see people I don't usually get to see
- Got to cosplay with my sister
- Sisters husband made me an AMAZING PIN (omg it's gorgeous)
- Got an amazing lightbox/software for pretty cheap.
- Gravity was at AX and wonderful wonderful Jen got me a Wizard hat (I loves you <3)
- Group cosplay with Jen-tachi
- Kept running into wonderful Fanime people like [info]dramaelf and Finni and her bf of awesome.
- Got to spend time with Ally :3 who I only see once a year.
- Jimmy cosplayed with me and was SO. SEXY. Omg.
- Had a positive experience at Masquerade. Can't call it fun persay because there was a lot of unhappy with it, but I can't say it was all bad.
- After con we went to Mercey Hotsprings. ;__; Bliss.
- Best cosplay turnout I've done in a while?

The cons of the Con:
- Missed seeing Seki Toshihiko ;____; /emo
- Didn't get to spend any time with my SJ friends (ok, a little but barely)
- Messed up quite a bit on our Masq skit, but I blame my stage fright O-DOOM and gluing my eyes to Shoko-tan while on Stage. (You could also see the ENTIRE audience during the skit and she made faces about our skit I couldn't read :*( )
- Missed the Tales of gather on Friday
- Missed out on the LM.C concert because the staffers I kept asking about it LIED and said they weren't there ;______;
- ROOM DRAMA first night of con. UGH OTL.
- the heat oh god the heat
- couldn't find the Artist alley until second to last day and couldn't talk to any of the artists I wanted to
- Got an emotional beat down all throughout con
- Girly time happened on the drive down so had the worst of it during con, while in cosplay.
- CROWDS OMG
- kept feeling like was in Theo's way.

There's more but that's all I can remember right now.

AX'08 was a bit of a bust.. but it was a bittersweet memory. Seeing and spending time with

was probably the biggest saving grace. Other people who I haven't seen in ages too and of course

Lol at us. I messed up pretty bad during the second half of the dance, but the lovely camera people managed to switch it over to our Zelda. OTL;; Our Shiek was amazing though. They choreographed the entire dance. It's a full routine but we had to cut it down to 2 minutes.

I know it's been like... 3 weeks now but I've been terribly busy. So I'm updating while my parents are visiting and asleep because I can't get my work done.

So Fanime 2008 was amazing. I've got more pictures but I've picked out a few that were very memorable to me.

It was my first time ever being at Artist Alley, and I'm already setup and registered for next year! I had no idea it could be so busy!

This Gankutsuo group was perfect. The girl's dress had the perfect shimmer to it. I've never seen anyone else do it that well before!

WOW.
This was the most fun I think I've ever had at a con or really close to it. I had an amazing time.

So I got to have a booth with

. That was fun. The people behind us were cosplaying a full group from Okami and they were so awesome and sweet and friendly (rambles more) and I love them. They were great to be neighbors with.

First day, I was so wired up by everything I was a ball of excitable hyper-uh..ness. Seriously, it was like a sugar high just being around you people!

He's finally eating. We had a terrible scare about 2 nights ago. I hadn't slept in about 24 hours and a friend came to visit. Friend and room mate went out to get ice cream together in the evening. I fell asleep while they were out. They came back and my friend stayed till 11:30pm. No one was able to see him out. . .

Our door swells in the summer apparently and won't close properly.
All of the cats were running the house...

Around 1am, my room mate comes out of her room and tells me the doors been left wide open for the past 1.5 hours. :___; OH GOD!!
So we looked all over the house and my other 3 cats - even with the door wide open- chose to stay inside. Nibby, my sick cat, got out.

After much stressing, running around outside, calling for him and crying... I find him under my downstairs neighbors gate. 3 hours later. He was freaked out because our sprinklers had been going off the entire time he'd been outside.

He's going back to the vet on Thursday to see how things are going. He's still on fluid drip (subcutaneous fluids) and doesn't have to be force fed so much anymore. But he's extremely thin. My baby lost so much weight... but it looks like he'll pull through. He's more or less getting back to his whiny picky self.

About the elusive plush artist
The plush artist is a rare creature, no two are identical and each has it's own destinct characteristics. Many of them will become the future of comercial toy production designs, and help improve the north american anime plush designs. Unfortunatley every year the plush artist suffers a dry spell, usually due to the "great anime convention money migration" season. You see the plush artist feeds on commission work, with which they can continue their road to becoming the best they can be. Many of the plush artists have been lost due to "commission starvation" where they have so little left of supplies that a plush can not be made, this can halt the growth of the plushie artist and all the future potential can be lost!

First, News on my cat.
So my cat has officially been diagnosed with a fatty liver. He's still not eating and his bills have jumped severely. (just over 3k so far, and there's still more to be done)
If you need a simple commission or even a big one I'd be really really appreciative for the work right now. I don't know if this is rude or not, but I'd also be really grateful for donations. I don't want to lose my Nibby. He's only 3 years old and he's wonderful. If we can't get him to keep things down he'll die

So all in all it was a pretty mellow but semi-typical con for me. I dragged Pluie with me (first con in 4 years! Woo hoo!) and for the most part we raided the dealers room but only found a few figures we liked. Pluie bought me waaay too many things for my birthday (tomorrow! Yay!)

On Friday - there wasn't much going on. We spotted 7 Spartans from 300 that got everyone all stirred up. Saw a ton of people, met the one wonderful lady from here on DA (I'm sorry I don't remember how to spell your user name but it was so nice to meet you!) and other people I hadn't seen in forever.

Saturday I attended my first group photoshoot as time-skip Hinata from Naruto.

I was so so sore during con. Hugging was kept to a minimum and I wasn't tackled glomped this year (probably something to do with the characters I picked? XD)

Poor Pluie though. She cosplayed Tsunade one day and Tenten the next. No one took her picture ;-; and what's worse a Jiraya picked on her about how Tenten has no back story.

I've decided to sell Plushies and patches as well as small cosplay pieces at Fanime next year in artist ally. I'd reallllly like to get a booth next to Aletta and will probably try to share one with Pluie or Shiari (I don't want to be there alone ;_

So far it's been tiring, my feet hurt and I've seen people I don't want to see :sigh:
BUT! To make up for that, I've met many new people (some from right here on DA!!! <3) I've taken a ton of pictures and even participated in my first group photo shoot.
I'll actually post pictures of that after the cons over.

Other than the physical misery of painful feet, heat, cold, and other stuff.. MY SISTER HAD HER BABY! @_@;; Oh my goodness.. I'm Auntie Panda now!

So far, things worth noting about Fanime:
Much improved from last year dealer room. A+ on the loot I got
The artist alley was smaller Much smaller.
I didn't see some people I've been itching to see still.
FREE PB&J Sandwiches you make yourself with choice of jelly. Free water and candy from Anime Los Angeles.
I actually danced at a dance with people! surprise surprise!

I wish I could draw I can doodle little things but nothing worth while. My hands belong in arts & crafts.

2 more days to go. After this next week I'm going back to selling many of my pre-made costumes. I need to start raising funds to take care of my cats' health problems. If we can't get him to eat, he's going to die I don't want my monster to die. He's being forced fed for now but he needs to eat on his own.

For all the gloom in this post I apologize to the readers. I'd just had a lot on my mind. Fanime = B for this year. If only I got my honey to cosplay... :/ But I'll dress other people up tomorrow <3

There's a girl on ebay - (who's pretty pissy confrontational btw The user is Anime_fondue1 for anyone who wants to know.)
Who stole the original design I used for my patches.

So what'd I do? I redesigned them and then made new ones! Better, prettier and water marked.
But that just won't stop some people and their lying cheating ways.

Apparently, this made such a person upset because I took business away from their thieving ass. Sure it's a fan-made product but it's pretty low of you to blatantly steal someone else's design and idea.

tsk tsk tsk...

Originally this person bid on the original patch. After the prices went up and up - they stole the design, made their own and became competition. But the business world is like that, don't get too angry right?

This person then has the audacity to steal MY picture - taken with MY camera and tell me that they didn't.
Oh yea? Where'd you get it then?
It is not your photo. It is the photo I was sent from the company. I have two versions. The other one s slightly crooked. I'll use that one if it makes you feel better.
From the company? Fuck you. I had these custom made and you took it else where and stole it. I can use photoshop too and it isn't so hard to tilt a picture SLIGHTLY.
I think not. Try coming up with a better lie.

But you know what, be the better person.. shrug it off.. let it go. This person isn't even worth it. Oh, but it gets better.

I then lower my prices because well, I'm still in business.
So then this person emails me saying
"Underselling is not doing either of us a favor. I can match ANY price you set it to. Let's be realistic...You could be selling for $X more and they would still sell. At current price you have to sell more than twice as many patches to make the same amount."

That's nice. How great of you to point that out. Have fun losing money while I'm still having fun.

The whole point of me making these patches were the fandom was high, I didn't find ANYWHERE that made patches like these. So I did myself a favor for my own cosplay project and then sold them to other cosplayers who would want them too. They weren't cheap to make either so I thought "well since I'm the only one selling them, I'll see how much they go for and work from there."

Did I mention they personally attacked me in their auctions, I have the screen shots to prove it too. Fun.

Not like ebay did anything to protect me though, even after reporting it. Not like they can I guess. It's not an official item, there isn't an official patch/badge/emblem released that I've seen and I've searched every auction/cosplay/anime store on the net that I could find. I have no licensing rights to the series and never claimed to.
But that means same boat for the other seller.

However, they're also distributing bootleg CD-R's with burned MP3's from the Soundtrack as a "gift". That's illegal.

People like this are a shame to morality and decent humans.
Well, I hope karma bites them in the ass.
