Sorry I have been away for so long. I have been crazy busy and it has been amazing. I just had a show at Flock Shop in Chinatown Los Angeles. Sorry I didn't promote it on here. The show was fun. If you are interested I have some photos of the show on my blogspot [link] . (I actually took the photos before the show right after setting it up. That's why there are no people. . . honestly) I am also working on two books. One with my extremely talented-with-words-and-otherwise-all-around-lovely sister Emily; and the other with my friends Marty and Tsz at school. I have five pages (with my partner) in the school publication, and most excitingly (for me anyway) I am working on my first comic book: Poor Banished Children of Eve. The release date for it is slated for December 6th at Flock Shop in Chinatown. Hope some of you show up!

Hey All,

Sorry I haven't kept up as well ask I would have liked to during the break. But I have some exciting news. There is an amazing little shop in China Town, Los Angeles called the Flock Shop. They are having their grand opening party this saturday the 8th! There will be drinks, a dj, live art, and a GLASS BLOWER! But mostly I am excited because they are carrying not only some of my paintings but also a really great limited block print by my mom! If you are in LA you should stop by.

Week two at art center and burried in homework. Today was the worst in a long time. I got to school at 8 this morning and forgot to turn off my lights. When I got out of school at 6:30 this evening my battery was dead. I got a friend to jump me. Now earlier this morning, at about 6:30 when I should have been leaving for school I thought: wouldn't another cup of coffee be so much nicer than leaving right now. I had the coffee and skipped the trip to the gas station because I was short on time. As fate would have it I was pretty low on gas when I finally left school, but still I thought "I can make it home". I got about halfway and ran out of gas on the freeway. Now it's 8:00 I walk about a mile for gas and back with a gas can only to discover my battery hasn't charged enough. I call up my friends (they are the coolest people in the world) now it's 9 something. They give me a jump and I get gas what is left to do but drink vodka after a long day of not eating and write a ranting journal about my horrible no good very bad day? then get up at 5:30 tomorrow morning

Today I just had my first day of orientation at Art Center College of Design. I took a few placement test. I didn't pass the photoshop and illustrator waiver test. I needed an 85% and I got an 80%. There is a make-up test on Tuesday, but I think maybe I should just take the class because that test was intense and if I go into Digial Design 2 without taking 1 I think I am gonna be pretty lost. I also to a writing placement, which I think I did really well on. Who knows. Anyway I have two more days of orientation (crazy hu). Then classes begin on Monday! I have been hearing horror stories about no sleep intense workloads and graves where one's social life once stood. I guess that's what I signed up for. Anyway, wish me luck

Hey all,

Sorry I haven't been keeping up so well here on dA. I thought I would let you guys know what's been going on. I have been working in the Financial Aid office at my new school, Art Center College of Design. And just getting ready to start classes on May 8th. I have a gallery show coming up on May 18th at the Windup Gallery in Phoenix. Keep an eye out for the add in this next month's issue of Juxtapoz Magazine. Also I was contacted by the publisher that I had sent my manuscript and illustration for my children's book "Sean and the Universe" And they are interested but there needs to be some major changes to the length of the story and they need somewhere between 20 to 40 illustrations before they can pitch it to whomever can make the final call. I have been working late everynight trying to finish as many as I can before school starts and so far I have 2 ;o; but it's only been a few days so we will see. I can't post any of them here on dA cuz of the posting agreement, but I may have them up on my own site soon if I can remember my login password ^-^

I am now a firm believer that life is a balance of bad and good luck. My mom and dad flew out for the Getty exhibit (which opened on Tuesday. sorry i didn't give any heads up, but my computer was down) As I was driving my father back from Glendale in my car (which has just been to the shop and cost me a thousand bucks, the wheel bearing explodes in the crankshaft and nearly kills us both. The car goes out of control, but I manage to muscle it off the road. I get it towed and we rent a car. Three hundred dollars later I have my car back. The show goes well with the Getty. My Father flies home. My mom my sister and I make plans to go to Disneyland yesterday because my mom is here until Saturday. It rains and we can't go so instead I take my mom to my new school and buy her a cheesy shirt from the student store. We visit my aunt and get home around midnight. We decide to open a bottle of champagne that has been in my fridge since new years. The cork will not budge no matter what i try. I decide to try to loosen it with a corkscrew. No sooner is the corkscrew in the bottle than the bottle explodes (I am not kidding) in my hand. I am pretty shocked at first and i think i even laughed, until i noticed the blood everywhere. The bottle had cut nearly to the bone on my middle finger and i was loosing a lot of blood. I go the the bathroom to wash it out and i start to feel dizzy. I try to walk to the couch to lay down and I pass out and land square on my face. When I wake up my sister is trying to get my feet above my head, and i can't understand what she is doing. When i figure it out I start to laugh again. My mom drives me to the emergency room and I get a tetnice shot and six stitches. And now here I am, still no disneyland, one really soar finger and a giant medical bill, and a funny story. I can't draw or paint and it's gonna be about a month until i am able. This journal is taking forever to write. Here are some pictures.

Finacial Aid is soooooooooooooo confusing. I filled out my fafsa and I thought that that was it, but now I guess I need a GPA verification from my college or something to be elligable for CalGrants I went online to get the form that I guess has to be taken to my school then mailed in or something, but when I looked at my 2005 CalGrant application they had record of a GPA verification and I don't ever remember filling anything like that out before Now I am on hold with my school forever trying to figure out if they do it automatically. CONFUSING! I wish that the US was more like Europe as far as university goes.

So for those who know me you know that my car is basically a piece of junk. a stupid yellow piece of junk. for the last year it has been leaking break fluid inside of my car and ruining everything. well today i decided that if I was going to have to travel any distance to school that I had better get it fixed. I made an appointment to have it fixed tomorrow and when I went to start it tonight it decided that it didn't want to ;o; now i guess i will have to have it towed to the shop and call out sick tomorrow to work. Why today!?!?! If it could have just waited a day everything would have been alright! I HATE YOU CAR! Anyway I have finalized all of my applications to school and now I just wait. . .without a stupid car.

Today my computer decided that it was time for a break. I can't completely understand what happened to it. The screen just went crazy then it shut down and wouldn't turn on for about six hours or so. Heya all. I just got back from a trip home for the holidays. It was really wonderful. There was snow everyday and we had such a great time. We had a beautiful tree. My parents we wonderful and there were only a few sad moments but that is to be expected I guess. The only thing that I wish we had had the chance to do was to see my little nephew Zachary, but unfortunately his father is making things most difficult for my family. But that aside I had a fantastic holiday. For Christmas I got a bunch of paint a new watercolour box a bunch of gesso boards a VCR!! so i can watch all of my old VHS' a bunch of books and lots more cool stuff. I also got some painting done while I was at home. Nothing much, just a few sketches in this AWESOME watercolour sketch book that was gifted to me by (Jake, it is getting good use ) I wish you all a wonderful new year!

I just wanted to let you all know that I just got the results back from the Getty's jury or the photographs from the show and I got two photos in the show! If anyone is in the LA area and would like to visit the show, it's going to open at the LAVC gallery on febuary 20th at about 7pm (I think)

Hello all,

This is my favourite time of year. The cold outside, the wind, the fact that I can wear scarves without sweating. It is all wonderful. Winter also means finals. I guess that it isn't so bad, but I have been pretty busy finishing projects. I haven't really been submitting a lot on here but I have been pretty busy. I haven't really shared much of what is going on with you lately, but better late than never. Things are going pretty well for my family. Everyone's spirits are higher including mine. I still think of Jennifer often, but it is a little less painful. Today I was actually really happy because the thought came to me that christmas is probably pretty bitchen in heaven.

Some other good things that have happened to me. I was chosen from my school along with nine other students to participate in a photography exhibit in conjunction with the Getty. It has really been a wonderful experience. I haven't been able to submit any of the photographs that I took for the show because they are still in the process of being juried by the Getty and I am not sure exactly of the rules on that sorta thing. The show is going to travel to four Southern California colleges. I will keep you all posted on the dates of the exhibit in case anyone in Los Angeles is interested in visiting the show. It is a follow up exhibit to the current show in the Getty Center's new expanded photography space: "Where We Live: American Photographs From The Behman Collection" our show is to be called, i believe "Where We Live: Student Perspectives" ok enough with that.

I have been tight lipped so far about my book because i didn't want to jinx it, but it has had some success this year. I actually submitted the manuscript to TokyoPop and it landed in the hands of the kindest editor ever. She really believed in the story and illustrations and did everything she could for me. It was decided that it really wasn't manga material, but should be a full colour hard copy children's book and she sent it with a great recommendation to a publisher in New York that will remain nameless because things are still up in the air. It has been through one meeting and I was told that the story is good but too long, but that this publisher feels that there is something worth pursuing. I guess that it doesn't mean anything so far, but if you could keep my book in your prayers or wishes or whatever I would really appreciate it.

I think this is the longest journal I have ever written. If you got through it my hat is off to you and I know that you are true friends.

Thank you all for your kind words and your prayers. I have done a lot of thinking these days and I have found some peace in this thought that I had. There as some things who's time here on earth are very brief, like snow flakes. They are simply too delicate and beautiful for the furnace of this world. There are people that will see a spider web and destroy it simply because it is fragile and they can. It is our job, us here on earth simply to be kind to each other and protect the fragile.

I leaving for a while. My sister jennifer has ended her life after a terrible bout of postpartum. Me and my family are trying our best to hold ourselves together, but if you have any time please pray for me and my family. We need it now. I would never post a journal like this, but it has been so hard these last few days away from my family and I need my friends. Please pray especially for little Zachary so that as he grow he will know how much his mother really did love him, and how scared and confused she was.
