With that in mind, I decided to post in this journal entry the five pieces of art that I consider were my best attempts over these past four years. Even though they might not look so good, or maybe not instill deep feelings on whoever gazes upon them, I hold them close to my heart for whatever meaning they have to me. So, ready or not, here we go!

5. An Opening in the Clouds

This was my first work submitted to this website. It really got me excited about DA because after 2 hours it had been faved and received a couple or more comments. That made me realize the great and powerful community that lurked within DA, and motivated me to submit more artwork in the hopes of more comments and favorites.

4. GP2X

One of my few ventures into pixel art, this is a representation of one of the coolest portable video games ever made, the GP2X, which I happen to be the proud owner of a unit. The level of detail in this is pretty good, and I'm convinced that it is one of the best pixellizations of this video game ever made (granted, there aren't many around).

3. Of longing and loneliness

This is the only piece of writing I ever submitted to deviantART. Funny thing is it was supposed to be just a background for another deviation, but it turned out better than I expected. It also happens to sum up most of my love life pretty well, and I'd be lying if I said this isn't part of the reason it's in my top 5 list.

2. On the road again

The reason why this got so close to being number one is a pretty subjective one. Even though I do consider it one of the best photos I've ever shot, technical and artistic achievement isn't really why it's here. It's here because it reminds me of one of the best experiences in my life so far, the trip I made to the U.S..

1. The Skyline Legacy

Yes, you should have seen this coming. This piece has been my featured deviation for well over a year, and it seems only fair that it remains there. Not just because it's my most viewed and faved work, but as a tribute to this great car I've come to love so much.

They've just deleted one of my favourite submissions, and sent me this message:

Note that they don't even tell me what part in my deviation EXACTLY is violating their laws. And I bet it was someone who didn't like my wallpaper and felt like telling them I was riping off on someone. What gets on my nerves is that the DA staff seems to not even care to investigate a LITTLE bit to see if I'm really breaking their policies; they just go ahead and blindly delete anything that MIGHT be violating the oh-so-important rules. I'm getting rather disappointed with this place

I've now sent an email asking the guys for written permission, so hopefully the wallpaper will be back up. Now to some better news. Let me start by saying that I love cars. So, in a nutshell: I have just started here and must say I'm quite intrigued, I was a deviantART guest visitor for about 2 years and only now I decided to summon my courage and join it. I still haven't uploaded any stuff, but I already have a ton of Terragen-generated images which I'll be adding the next few days. Other than that, I might (just might) submit drawings or wallpapers, or (highly improbable) some poetry. Well, I guess this is it for now.
