if i ask for critiques, i will request them from artists i trust and admire. letting the general public "critique" my work has turned out to be more of "this is ugly and i dont like it" than actual constructive criticism.

i think i'm good not having any of that around me.

because, and this is my point, if you think a piece of art is ugly, you keep that crap in your head and don't randomly dump it on someone else to make them feel as worthless as you do inside.

it irks me to no end when nail technicians slather on ugly paint jobs to hide even uglier sets of nails. pay attention to the shape, the thickness, the curve [if you desire one], and most importantly, the health of your clients' nails!

In fact, deviant art's TOS specifically states that users under 18 are not even allowed to REGISTER at D|A... so why are so many 14 year olds here anyway?

[link] This guy, had decided it is an awesome idea to photograph close-ups of his penis, [nary a face among any of his photos, most are grainy and the camera was shaking when the photo was snapped] and then go favourite art of the younger members of d|a.

DASurfer-dude: [link] went looking through this guy's faves and found out he's faving art of girls as young as 13. Why? Well what do you do when someone faves ur art? You GO TO THEIR PAGE to say thanks.

He has photo after photo of his cock up so these girls will see it when they go to thank him for the faves. In public this would be called EXPOSING YOURSELF, so why is it okay on d|A?

[link] is up, and updated. I've been away for a week, basically, while taking care of some family stuff. It's been a rough, rough week for me and my family, but we are making it.

Why is the blog labeled as "adult" or 18 only? I've had a few notes asking, so I decided to answer. There are NO PHOTOS on my blog. The entries have little to no profanity and no explicit descriptions of adult situations. The reason it's labeled as 18 only is because of my job, and the fact that I talk about my job. I don't work at a card factory, so don't get offended by what is on the blog.

I've seen enough manipulated eyes to satisfy me for the rest of my life. Pooch out some lips, make some boobs bigger, whatever you want to do, but for those who think that airbrushing isn't an art, or doesn't take talent, i dare you:

take the next 4 HOURS of your life, get a stock photo from somewhere around here, something untouched, not some supermodel who's already been airbrushed to hell and back, and make it into a picture worthy of Vanity Fair or Vogue.

I dare you.

People who manipulate, airbrush, and retouch photos are as bona fide artists as anyone else who picks up a paintbrush, aims a camera, or molds a lump of clay.

It takes talent, and yes, you can practice as much as you want, but there's still a natural leaning toward it to do it WONDERFULLY. There still has to be a desire to do it WELL. There still needs to be a drive to do it AMAZINGLY.

I am a manipulatrix, and I don't make people beautiful. People ARE already beautiful. I polish them up, nothing more. So next time you see a brown eye turned blue, don't throw it away so quickly. That person might just polish you into something you'd never thought you could be.

I've lately been delving more into my nail and hair art, I'm a licensed cosmetologist, which is where this art thing started for me, painting ideas of what I wanted to do with colours and such in photoshop, and then I slipped into sig-making accidentally and fell in love with retouching and airbrushing.

I've also began to get seriously excited about my new comic, "Crushed Boxes", but more than that, I'm excited about finding MYSELF inside my art.

I'm careful to a fault what I say to people, but I don't expect that in return. Say whatever you want to say here, but be prepared for my response, because I will respond in kind.
