Life has a habbit of building up and tearing down. The beauty of that is you get to start again and build taller and stronger.

3 old works survived the kull but will eventually be scraped. The rest are in the fire as I look to re-invent my gallery and myself.

The new gallery will be a lot more selective and new work will be posted in the not too distant future, but not at the same prolific rate of old.

I won't say too much about the new work just yet, but what I can tell you is it follows a fantasy theme. Some things don't change.

Well, I look forward to hearing from you all in the near future. Right now its back to the drawing board.

I hope you've all been well and that your worlds are all ace

Work has kept me pretty busy over the past months and on top of that Im in the process of creating my first book. The story is written, the cover is done and Im now onto the long slow process of doing the interiors. Before the Nathaniel fans start getting excited, its not his story, his story is for another time. its a new character who hasnt graced my page yet and if there is enough interest, I might post an image of her here.

When the book is complete, I will post it on the myebook site. I'll keep you all updated though and I'll pop a link up as well. I cant tell you when it'll be finished as it has to fit around all the other work so you will all just have to be patient

just thought i'd let you all know im working on some turn arounds for my project with the little bald guy, Nathanial. i have completed his pencil turn around and im currently working on his beloved, Princess Fenucia. Also im working on a finished colour piece of the queen, so theres plenty to keep me busy other than work! which reminds me, i should post more of my work work soon.
this has become too big for me to work on on my own so i have enlisted a friend who is an amazing background artist! this things really taking shape. cant wait to get more up soon!

sorry for the long silence, but ive been incredibley busy!

i just got back from a trip to Stockholm with 40 friends labeled, 'magical tours: swedish serenity'. we had so much fun it was mental!
i think we scared a few people, though. they're not used to seeing a bunch of people doing star jumps across a busy intersection or dancing in the street the the buskers.

we did loads of great random stuff, the photos of which are on facebook (if you're interested let me know).

ok back to work now, i'll post more when i get the chance but dont stop coming by as i always check my messages

just thought i'd drop a quick hi to everyone out there who is kind enough to watch my page, and indeed, to those who are just flying through.

i managed another birthday on the weekend - thats right, im now 27 and getting closer to the top of the hill. cant wait to get to the top and roll down the other side (i cant believe i just said that - oh well).
i had a fairly low-key day. i went out for lunch and dinner with friends and on both occasions i had the birthday song sang to me. i had to oblige so i showed my appreciation by standing on my chair to take a bow.
that was followed by crazy random fun thru london involving a photographer, a playground, a mobile phone, semi nudity and heaps of laughs loads of fun had by all!!

i'll try and get some more work up soon, its just im still up to my eyeballs in work - which im thoroughly enjoying.

1. when i was a kid i went to a youth group activity and i was too afraid to ask where the toilet was so i went outside and peed in their garden. at that time, a whole bunch of people came outside so i ran off still peeing as i went!

2. i was having fish and chips with my family by the beach one day and i was in a grumpy mood. i joked about the seagulls crapping on us. right after i said that a seagull crapped on me. it was a great shot as it went right down in my ear!

3. i went to an end-of-year work do and i had to dress up as a pink fairy in a flash restaurant. once i was dressed up (make up and wings and everything) i had to dance around. i did and i won - ha! i never lived that one down.

4. i have been around the world 3 times but i havent even been the south island of my own country! (New Zealand) shame on me!

5. i have one pointy ear. you can imagine the amount of spock jokes i got growing up as a kid.

6. my flatmate and i have out own country. its called baseland (pronounced baselind). the official currency is cake. we are going to invade Wales soon and from there we plan to take over an island in Sweden.

8. dispite what some people think, i wasnt in 'American Beauty'.

9. i tried writing poetry once - a long time ago - but i was crap so i stopped.

10. i have double jointed thumbs. they're always a great ice breaker and a great way to gross out the girls

well i finally got some paying work which is a huge relief. im doing some freelance illustration at the moment with other projects on the horizon. naturally, it doesnt leave me much time for my own stuff but im hardly complaining.
i have tones of sketches i want to show you all and plenty more bouncing around in my imagination box (i get the feeling ive said that plenty before?), so i will get them up here when i can.

oh and im also learning how to ink and use illustrator. if im to make a good go of this, i have to make my work more professional looking (i will still try doing stuff the way i do it now. ive become quite attached to my current style). my new stuff is influenced by by comic artists such as Humberto Ramos and Jeff S Campbell (whilst trying to retain some of my own individuality).

speaking of which, i got this great comic the other day - Wolverine-Civil War. the art, front to back, is by Humberto Ramos, and i have to say, its pretty....well, extremely impressive. if you love comics or even if you dont, check it out - it will blow you away!

just thought i'd share the weekend spirit and wish you all a very happy and eventfull weekend. im off on a road trip to York tomorrow so that should be fun. that reminds me, im driving so i should probably get some rest so i dont crash, haha

im part way thru painting my old drawings (which is why i havent posted anything new in a while), so feel free to take a look and let me know what you think? im pretty pleased with the progress so far. there is still loads of stuff to go so that will keep my busy for a while.
i have been doing some new drawings so i might take a break from the old stuff and paint something new for you. we'll see how it goes.

just a little update with whats going on in my world.

as some of you know, i moved flats in the last couple of days and im now a resident lurker in a basement flat in wandsworth - yeha! the place has no furniture and is an absolute tip but my flatmate and i have put in a bit of elbow greece and its scrubbing up ok. i even made a garden! my dad would be so pleased with me. back to the furniture thing, this led me to my first ikea experience. man, what a mission!! the highlight was definately the Swedish meat balls and stocking up on Swedish junk food. oh how i miss their cakes! i got this great wardrobe, slash, junk hider which i was up until 2:30 in the morning puttng together. then it was breakfast and more swedish cakes and cider for breaky - mmmmmmmm haha. oh, and got this cool red lamp to aid my midnight drawing marathons. its got this cool bendy neck on it. it was the first thing i set up when i got home. im such a geek, haha

oh, i got a job as well! im working in a wine shop in the chelsea/kensington area. very p & p. no animation just yet but that will change in the next couple of months - i can garranty it!

ok, art stuff. ive told a couple of you but i'll let you all in on it now - im not going to do any new art for a while. i know i keep going on about but im really not happy with my gallery so im going to go back over my old pencils and colour them up! ive already started so keep a look-out as i wont post them as new work, rather i'll just replace the pencils.

ok, i must have some real breakfast now and possibly a power nap. i feel like rubbish.

well, i finished the lonely cowboy project the other day. it was a bit different for me but i enjoyed working on it, but the main thing is that the client was happy - which makes me happy
a few of you expressed interest in seeing the final storyboards. well, im happy to say i am able to bring them to you. it will have to be at a later date, though im afraid. they need a bit of tweeking and they need arranging into order, and pasted on boards (so to speak).
i still have a load of projects i hope to bring to you soon. im really happy with the drawings, its just a matter of colouring them (which takes ages!!)

im also going to go thru the old stuff in my gallery and reworking them. some of the pencil sketches need a bit of colour thrown on them and perhaps some flashy photo backgrounds, so keep a look out for those!
oh btw, if any of you have any suggestions as to which of my old drawings you'd like to see in colour, please dont hesitate to drop me a note or something.

i have been so lazy with my other account. i have been meaning to upload more photos but i havent gotten around to it yet. i will have to soon, though, as i have loads of cool shots from my trip to Paris a couple of weeks ago. im off to Valencia with some friends from NZ this weekend so i hope to show you some photos from that trip as well.

well, ive been a busy beaver lately, applying for jobs left right and centre as well as looking for a place to live.
amungst all that, im trying to find the time to squeeze in some art for your viewing pleasure

currently i have 5 projects underway including 's pic for winning my little comp.

on the way as well will be something incorporating backgrounds supplied by. he was kind enough to brave a Swedish winter and take some amazing photos way out in the middle of nowhere. im looking forward to the challange

i am tempted to upload the pencils now but i think i'll hold off and bring you the colours when they are ready.

so, i am a busy lad but i will keep on posting work when, and as i can.

well, i seem to be settling in fine down here in Guildford. Its quite nice at the moment - weather wise. its just coming into summer so the sun is gracing us with its presence.

i just thought i'd let you know (im pretty sure ive already told you, but i'll tell you again) i dont have a scanner at the moment, so im just going to go over old work and splash some colours around. feel free to drop me a note or something on which ones you think i should do and if i should get rid of the old ones or not.
i did one sketch today which im quite proud of. that will be the first new piece i colour when i get a scanner.
i hope this makes sense as its quite late and ive just got home from a very noisey resturant which had about 5 hens nights going at once!
well, ive had about as much estragine as anyone can handle for one night so i'll be off, but i will look forward to any comments on your faves for me to colour!

as the subject header of this journel would suggest, i have hit some kind of mental wall that isnt allowing me to tap into my 'imagination tank' properly. i guess i have a lot on my mind and a lot to organise before i take off in a couple of weeks.
this is where you all come in (hopefully - its up to you).

i need some ideas for projects. it can be anything (with in reason of course). perhaps something you think would fit my style or an existing character that you would like to see me draw. so if your imaginations are running wild and you think it may make a great picture - let me know and i will do my best to render it for you. it doesnt matter how crazy or boring or happy or sad or scarey you think it may be - i will give it a shot.

i write with exciting news. (well for me anyway).
yesterday i finished paying off my ticket to the UK. im so excited!
i fly out on the 13th of april next year on a oneway ride to London.
i have a one night stop-over in Singapore where i'll go on a night safari and have breakfast with the orangatans the next morning with a bit shopping and sightseeing inbetween.

everything else is still up in the air but its nice to have at least one thing finalised.

i will try and get some more work done soon. as of late i have been extremely unmotivated and going thru the faze of 'all my work sux'.
so hopefully between working my butt off between my 2 jobs and sleeping, i will be able to find the inspiration to come up with some more work.

well, ive been here for a few months now and strangely my work seems to be growing in popularity.
i would like to take this time to officially thank everyone from the bottom of my heart who has supported me since my pages conception way back in may. thank you to everyone for their wonderful comments on my work - its always so humbling to receive such praise. i wonder sometimes if i deserve it! thank you to those of you who have stopped by just for a peek.

on a different note, i'd just like to share a couple of things on my heart.
recently there have been some events in my life that have turned everything upsidedown. i am finding it very hard to deal with, but i am trying all the same. as a result, this has been reflected in my work and my page has gone from a place of just posting work, to expressing myself and dealing with my inner demons. a lot of the images i post as of late, have a very deep meaning for me, so for people to enjoy my work gives me a real buzz.

you may have noticed my little bald headed friend has been making a regular appearance as of late. hopefully you arent getting bored of him because i love drawing him. i thought i might do an 'origin story' as to where he came from, so expect that soon.

one other thing, if anyone has any ideas of what i should do next or if anyone would like me to do a commission for them, i would be more than happy give it a go.

right-o, its back to the drawing board for me but thanks again to everyone. your support makes it all worth it.
