So there's my good news. Any of you hiked the A.T. before? Did you thru-hike, day hike, section hike? I'd like to hear about your experiences.

Art-wise, I've got good news and bad news. Good news is, I've got some cool new devs coming soon. Bad news is that either my camera lens or sensor is scratched. I'm looking to get a new camera for christmas but it looks like no photoshoots for a little while. Which is sad. Good thing I have a ton of unedited pictures just ready for me!

It has been said that happiness is only real when shared with someone else, but here I ask another question: is happiness the ultimate goal? I'm not convinced that it is. Love is the goal, happiness is simply a by-product.

So as we go back into or work week, school week, vacation week, let's try an experiment. Rather than seeking our own happiness, let's work toward the happiness of others through love, and see what happens.

I just moved to my new apartment about a week ago and I still don't have cable/internet in my apartment, so I have to use the apartment's "business office". I wonder if anyone actually does business in here. The computer has so many popups and spyware that I'm pretty sure everyone just myspaces, downloads illegal games and porn, and checks their email. That would be strange to do business from a business office. Oh well. So short story long, I will not have internet regularly til at least Tuesday....

But I'm liking the new place. A ton of room, walk-in closet, master bathroom, the works. It's pretty nice.

I just wish I had time to enjoy it, maybe do a little reading and some art.

I graduated from college (holla) about 4 weeks ago. I am currently working full-time, 8-5. My title is "economic development analyst" but that is neither as serious or as boring as it sounds. Basically I do marketing for the small city I work for, recruiting businesses, revitalizing run-down areas of town, and generally just making the city look nicer through economic tools. I like it so far but I miss all the free time that comes with being a student. Hopefully I will be going to graduate school next year in Landscape Architecture or a related field.

As for photography, oh how I miss thee. I photographed a wedding about a month ago, and I'm just now finishing editing all the pictures, so there will be more art. soon.

I'll be in Red River, New Mexico, a little mountain town in the northern part of the state. It's definitely one of my favorite places to go in the summer. I'll be taking lots of pics, so I'll hopefully have a lot to show afterward.

Favorite Song For Feature Contest: Results!

Thanks to everyone who posted their favorite songs! I got to hear a ton of new stuff, and have even bought a lot of the music they suggested!

My favorite song out of the bunch, though, was one suggested to me by *Beha89, a song by Tunng called "Jenny Again". *Beha89 suggested it to me by linking me to a 30-second clip, and I liked the clip so much that I went out and found it on my own.

The Fighting Puffins

......is the name of my brother's (~SGraves7) softball/baseball team made up of some of his highschool and college-age friends who get together and play some sandlot

games out at the local little league fields.

Since I came back from school, I've been joining in their games and practices, and it's been a lot of fun. This past Sunday I played in their first-ever game against another team with far more experience, and age and wisdom on their side.

and, we lost.
But 'twas a very fun game, and we played a whole 9 innings!

I am still tired.

oh, and I also think I got a concussion from running into the second baseman at full speed. I couldn't breathe for 10 seconds.

My body hurts, advil is my friend.

So, My sister [link] and I were selected as semifinalists for The Amazing Race, a reality show being filmed during Summer 2008! We applied to do the show as a brother/sister pair for this summer, but they said they already had a brother/sister pair.

So.... our next step is that we have to make a video application for The Amazing Race that shows how we would be a good brother/sister duo to be on the show. We have about 30% odds of getting on the show, which I think is pretty good!

Anyway, the reason I am saying this is that I would love to have you guys' feedback on the video that we make, so I will be posting a link to the video on DA and you can let me know what you think!

I went out today and shot some stuff using HDR, High Dynamic Resolution, in which you take three pictures of different exposure levels are put them together in photo editing post-production software.

Here are the results, they are just practice, and practice supposedly makes perfect so we will see

So school began three weeks ago, and my top priority has been getting enough sleep. 5 hours of sleep is above average for me on a weeknight, so it's been hard adjusting to that schedule. Plus, it's hard not to spend ALL of my time on *photohunt, which is my most recent dAmn addiction. So, homework is a problem.

Anyway, it's good to be on dA all the time, even if I am addicted at the moment.

*photohunt has kept me producing more photographs in a shorter period of time than ever, and it's great to make friends and see familiar "faces" in the chat all the time.

SO I have become active again in DA, so the last two weeks have been alot of fun. I became a subscriber (tryin it out for a month) and a beta-tester (which apparently means I clicked a box).
