Hola, seems like an age since i've been on dA properly. Mainly cos it is. In July and August i went on holiday with the illustrious lu (*pepper-mint-pattie). We went to Devon (in England), which was pretty cool, took literally thousands of photos, went to the beach, visited the Eden Project which was wicked, visited Plymouth (how a city can be given the feel and atmosphere of a giant council estate I've no idea, but they managed, horrible place, was very happy to leave there)did some walking, some reading (I finished reading 'Never Let Me Go' by Kazuo Ishiguro, who is simply an astounding writer and creator of utterly believable characters, i can't tell you hopw great I think his ability is), generally had a great couple of weeks. We stayed in a little cottage in a village called Slapton and drove round loads of tiny little scary country roads and lu's car survived.



I can't remember if I've mentioned it, but we've got two very sweet little cats too, they're called Pickle and Bear, I'll put up a phot of the pair of them sometime soonish. I've never had cats before so its a whole new experience, but they're very wonderful and beautiful little things. They're cats rather than kittens, but they are still fairly small.

Nearly finished my existing job, running round interviewing some groups about their work and evaluating the benefits to public health they contribute to. A week on monday i start my brand new job, I'm gonna be developing the network of User and Support Groups for people affected by Cancer, it sounds really cool and the organisation its with has a really good reputation for its work. The job is covering a vast area, thus a new car is necessary so i'm off to get that next weekend and at the moment i'm trying to sell my reliable little car (complete with rust on bumper, and oh so subtle blur on the reg number), its a real shame, its my first ever car and i think its really cool. But i doubt it'd appreciate 20,000 miles a year.



In order to give the job the attention it deserves, I'm gonna be around sporadically, I've given up the few positions of vague responsibilty I had, which was a shame, especially in #Trivia, but its allowed someone else to become an operator and hopefully do well, I gave up being an operator in
#Hell a while ago, but its still a cool place to hang out. Finally, one of my little side projects I've handed over to someone else as I've just not got the time and I'm more than confident taey'll do well with it.

Hopefully I'll submit something relatively soon from all that i took on holiday and from some of the really great shots i took before or since too.

just need to point out that i've discovered the best way for me to take images to and from college is via submitting them to DA as scraps... this'll save me trying to get a CDR-W to write on both mac and pc, whic seems at the moment to be an impossibility... so if anyone's any other suggestions feel free to share...

this means that on occassion there'll be some images submitted there i won't necessarily have copyright on, but they'll only be up for a few hours at a time

i'm still procrastinating too much and massively addicted to the new Star Wars PS2 game, so still no new deviations or indeed collaborations. both the proposed collaborations have halted due to the procrastinations of the people involved and the nearly completed pregnancy of a friend, which prevents the father to be from spending any time outside mothercare and related shops

for little 'uns, but no doubt at least one of them will surface at some point (who knows)

thats nearly it, well actually two other things, i've six (count 'em) invites to Gmail, so if anyone wants a gmail account note me your email address and i shall do whatever i'm meant to do...

now have four deviations in mid creation, but still haven't completed any... bit apathetic about such stuff at the moment... i'm doin a little photoshop course as of next month, so i might actually submit something of value soon..

BROADBAND UPDATE: bloody fools at wanadoo connected me but didn't tell me. also didn't bother to tell me they can't support phone extensions (what am i physic?) so things were not looking good until the nice staff at PC World helped me (three members of staff discussing the best solution, three, they must've drafted them in from a nother store, much sucking of teeth when i mentioned the mac) anyways, a nice 20ft ethernet cable later and with the router in the living room tis all fixed. not quite tip top speed due to cable length, but a nice bit of handy work when our central hetaing arrives will create a much shorter route... anyway

tommorrow the illustrious lu and i are gettin the keys to our wonderful new and great big pile of debt tommorrow; for the next couple of weeks we'll be [link] and decorating so again i won't be around much... once we move in though, broadband will be with us and i'll whizz through the back log

's very exciting, the wacky world of North Yorkshire awaits us with scraggy floor boards, woodchip (not woodchuck i'm afraid) and artexed walls...

just spent half an hour battling against DA and my crappy dial up (which has disconnected me twice) to try and correct my ugly mugs picture which had obviously managed to worm its way into my scrapbook (though i've no idea how), think i've got it fixed

its all very excitin, there's a whole bunch of extra stuff you can do, even run my own poll, if only i could think of one, but i thought i'd play around

managed to keep away from the computer for nearly two days , very impressed with myself

watched the fisrt series (season) of spaced again - the tape appears to be dying though - such a fantastic programme. for the first time i thought i'd have a go at puttin in icons, i realise the user page has icons at the moment but there's little control over them and you can't write who they are,

anyways some time soon i shall be movin till then don't know how many deviations i'll be able to do, and after we get keys there's lots to do, painting sandin, realisin i'm old things like that (i bought step ladders - what more proof of oldness is there)

lookin forward to new beasties album on monday

at some point soon(ish) the all new will be complete and all will hail it; guess it'd help if i were to actually spend some time on it

geez, god i'm lazy,

having said that i been actually working at work, so can't be that lazy, hhhmmmmmm?

anyway 25 messages is a lot and i have little time so i shall respond later, jus taking 5 minutes out from spring cleaning, so quick looksey round and a can of stella (its a reward don't you know) and back to it, hopefully i can get myself in gear to at least get one "new" piccy up using jazzy new scanner that i've not really played with since i got it as all my time has been spent on one of me uver bday pressies, CM4, the mighty hartlepool have taken over for a while,

i'm sure i'll use the mac for some of the other reasons we got it really soon, but for the time being i shall tootle off and get back to my vacuuming, gosh its fun,
