CATS and DOGS
Thanks to our lovely, generous  neighbours, who came around to the idea of letting us take care of the cat, we now have a kitty :iconcheerplz:

Becksy

has been sleeping at ours every night, and today I insured him and tomorrow we are taking him to the vet to sort his skin out. He is looking so much better, eating all the fish and good cat biscuits, and having pets, plays with the catnip filled mouse toy, etc etc.
He is really very sweet, and is looking more like a lion every day.

Ok, so I've got a problem.

This little guy

has been really friendly with us for many years. He belongs to our neighbours, two doors down, but they are always at work or out partying, and the cat is outside, alone, usually sitting on rubbish bins, and every time I come out he runs to me for pets and such.

NEED ADVICE

LEAVING THE GROUPS
Ok, it's been no secret that I've become utterly fed up with this place, not because of some crusade against anyone, but because it no longer satisfies my artistic appetite. I am not leaving dA but I have decided to leave all the groups I was an admin in, except for the three that I founded.

dA FRAUD?
Just before Christmas, I bought something from dA. When I was checking out, the 2nd day shipping option displayed as $7.23, and the total as around $18. However, after I checked out, ie. AFTER my card was charged, it showed that it was charged for around $36 and that the shipping was in fact $25.22 and the total - $36.18!

Surely, that had to be a mistake! To tell me you will charge me for $18 and then to go ahead and without my Ok to charge my card for more than double that, has to be a glitch, otherwise it is fraud. False representation. Misleading the customer. For me the effects of retrograde Mercury (from 30th March to 23rd April 2011) have already started but I see rumblings all over the place - in real life as well as on dA. People are becoming disgruntled, voicing disagreements, there are frank conflicts erupting, arguments, feelings of discontent with the communications with others. We can feel like we are not understood or listened to, or we can misunderstand easily.

My flu has now gotten royally worse and I have a pneumonia.

I have the swine flu :faint: Also, capillaries in my left eye burst so now I have all-blood-red demon eye as well, but the tragedy is that I am too sick to take a picture of it to submit to Horror and Macabre gallery :cry:

But what I wanted to quickly brag about is that I finally got the :thumb183272118: I ordered and it turned out perfectly! I was worried about colour management, since I had problems with this in previous years when I was using a PC, but this has been calibrated on my new Mac and the dA prints are exactly as the files appear on my monitor :dance:

I am forever on a mission to do things in a minimalist way, but somehow I always end up with lots of festive detail and colour, I don't know why... Once completely addicted to colour, I have found myself mostly attracted to black and white imagery. Something I haven't done much of.

I am not sure where the next set of photo experiments will take me (when I find some time to get immersed in them) but I am thinking - black and white, high key, back lighting on paper thin flower petals, herbarium, steampunk.
