Got my blue hair back finally, work is going alright, everything is going pretty smoothly right now.

I want to do some more photoshoots but not having a better lens is still depressing meee. I got the tripod but it just seems like every picture I try to take turns out wrong in some sense. It'd help if I had a remote as well so I wouldn't have to attempt a shot, get up, look at it, and try again.
oh well.

Trying to get back in to photoshop, it's been a while since I've really done anything that makes me proud of myself.

well fuck, i really don't want to think of it.

if i could still be lying in his arms at night, don't you think i would be?
but obviously that'll never happen again, so i don't see why everyone can't accept that.
the only way i can keep holding on to this little hope is i got a sign. the slightly tiny itty bitty sign saying it'll happen again.
i'm not the only one who can forgive. who can forget.
i've had one birthday where i've had someone who cared about me completely and i cared about them completely. it was nice. but i can't afford to live in the past.
my life now revolves around being and functioning alone. once you get used to it, you just start getting annoyed at other people pushing themselves in the way.
(and i'm slightly scared to see myself turning into him...)

i got a new (piece of shit defective) laptop
and i installed photoshop

but the smudge/blur/darken etc buttons won't work!
the patch tool, crop, measure, things like that work...
but the rest won't! whyyyyy?!
i can't remember if I had different settings on my desktop to make it work
but it's REALLY annoying not being able to smudge and add shadows and whatnot...

i was actually started to get active again
then i got this laptop....

i got it brand new from dell, customized, built for me, the whole ten yards
and already they've had to install a brand new wireless card, keyboard, touchpad, and motherboard
WTF. and it still appears to not be working right...because i keep making typos i wouldn't normally make, cuz the freakin keyboard does NOT work. along with the touchpad. i mean, i have a tablet, but this is supposed to be WIRELESS is it not? very inconvenient.

you know annoying it is to be playing WoW, and suddenly your keyboard stops working and you're stuck running straight through a super high level area, not being able to turn or anything, so you aggro a whole train of high level monsters?! ANNOYING.
or to be the healer while being run through a high level instance
and then your camera view fuck up really bad and not switch back so you can't click on the person you're trying to heal, and then BAM everyone's dead and the person running you is pissed off because all you had to do was sit back and heal and you fucked that up.

ARGHGH getting more angry thinking about it...

My lovely boyfriend got it for me

It should be in my grasp tonight, so within the next few days, I should FINALLY have some new stuff up. I've been wanting to photoshop and such lately, but my desktop is...not working...because of WoW...so I haven't been able to do anything

Unfortunately all my stocks and stuff are up on my desktop, and it won't turn on right now, but if I can hook up my harddrive to my laptop (is it possible?! tell me how T_T) i'll be able to transfer everything. I can work without all that stuff, it's just personal preference to have it all on there i guess

And I can get some new stocks up on my stock account soon as well

In other news, I work at Hot Topic now

It's only seasonal, and there's a chance I'll stay there after seasonal's up, so hopefully that works out. And my birthday is next month, so I can FINALLY apply to MAC. phreakyevil the makeup artist....amaaaazing ^___^

Life's pretty crappy right now, but hey! I'm working on a lot of stuff- photoshoots, makeup gigs, band stuff, manips in general, and can't wait till it all gets on a roll.

The place I finally moved into isn't working out so well, the internet and water got cut off, so I'm looking for somewhere else to go right now. I really want to move out of state, NC or GA, so if anyone out there's looking for a roomie, just note me! ^_^

I'm trying to get a hang of my tablet though since I rarely use it and waited so long for it.

Really.
I was going through my gallery, and it just looks like a lot of my older stuff is a lot better.
Also, looks like I have a LOT of crap in my gallery, not enough polished somewhat-decent pieces.

Maybe it's just since starting to work, I haven't had as much time or creativity.
Either way, I'm aiming to fix this. I need to have another handful of ten-hour + pieces in here!
As much as I want to get into photography, I don't want that to be the focus of this account. Until I get better lenses & have some actual decent stuff, I only want a miniscule amount of photography on this account. Once I've got the equipment to pursue photography, ~shnarfle will become my photography account.

Anyway, I'm hoping to chuck out some new pieces soon. It'd be nice of anyone to go through my gallery & tell me what your top three, or just top one, favourite piece is in here (photomanipulation). Just so I can get a general idea on what I'm doing right.

I got my camera finally, and I haven't even had time to use it. That saddens me. Alas, I've just been fired, so I might have more time unless I end up working again, just at the other store.

I went up to North Carolina a week or so ago. A lady that came up to me on my birthday asked to photograph me for her class, and when the assignment finally came up, she gave me a call. Didn't get raped, it was actually quite fun. Hopefully they came out good, and I'll post some here whenever she sends them. She had an old Canon from the 70's, and took it in black and white, so it should be interesting.

I got the Rebel XT, FINALLY.
After my mom had given me a few things, I got really sad cuz I realized she would probably never give it to me, and BAM, there it is! I was like YESSSS.

AND I got a tablet!

I'm really excited, and can't wait to use either! I'm gonna see if my brother will install the harddrive he got me for xmas tomorrow, cuz right now I can't photoshop or ANYTHING simply because I'm out of memory.

My friend Blake decided my birthday will last a week this year, and from now on, so I've still got some celebrating to do =]

wednesday, I think.
my sister's boyfriend of four or so years got into a car accident.
he wasn't drinking, on drugs, or anything, had his seatbelt on. driving twentyfive miles per an hour.
flooded dirt road, full of potholes.
he swerved into a ditch, hit a tree, and the tree fell over and CRUSHED him.
the two friends that were with him suffered only a broken arm for one, and small scratches on the other for jumping into a thornbush getting out of the car.
one of them ran for help. the other tried to get justin out of the car.

thursday, i came home from work.
my sister had left a message saying justin was in the hospital and in bad shape.
i called one of my friends that was really close to him. she said he died, but they brought him back.
he had a broken arm, broken leg, broken rips, and his lungs were collapsing or something. brain was swollen.
sometime in the night, he needed to have surgery done cuz his lungs were filling up or something.

my sister was arranging to come home on the next available flight. she's in new jersey for college, but this is REALLY serious and she was about to get out for thanksgiving break anyway, so she bought tickets that night.

friday.
sat around reading most of the day, waiting for her to get home from the airport so we could go to the hospital and see him.
leila calls.

'don't bring briar to the hospital.'
'why?'
'he's gone.'
'huh? where is he? is he better?'
'no. he...he died.'

we still had to pick my sister up from the airport.
everyone knew but her.
we had to act normal, cuz his mom wanted to tell her. it's probably the last time i'll see her smile for a VERY long time.

we got to his house
she was slightly confused cuz she thought we'd go straight to the hospital.
then his mom told her
and she broke down.

it turns out they had plans to get engaged this christmas or earlier.
he was going to use the money he got from being sent to afghanistan to buy them a house.

he never even got to go to college. this past summer, we went to the citadel so he could go check it out.
and now he'll never get the chance to go.
his room- everything is just sitting there waiting for him to come home.
it FEELS like he's just gonna pop up.

but it's never gonna happen.
i hate this.
so much.
i wish it'd been me instead.
i never get into any kind of accident. i've never broken anything. i've never been in a car crash. i've only been severely sick twice in my life- once in fourth/fifth grade, and the past four months with mono.
my brother had to go to the hospital less than a month ago.
now justin's DEAD.
and i'm still perfectly healthy.

i wish it'd been me.
it would've been so much easier on everyone.

it's so hard to think the last time i saw him was halloween
and i didn't hug him or anything.

and the next and FINAL time i'll see him
he'll have been dead for four days and lying in a casket all alone.

i can't help but wonder if he knew he was dying.
if he begged his mom in his head not to pull the plug.
if he could've at least waited till briar got there.
maybe if she'd been there, love could've fixed everything.

so I've been ATTEMPTING to finish up a piece, but I keep getting the stupid 'cannot complete request - scratch disk is full' thing anytime I try to do anything remotely useful.

normally when I get that, I just close the rest of the photoshop windows I have open and delete a few things to free up some space.
did it.
DIDN'T WORK.
i freed up 8GB of space, and it STILL gives me the scratch disk is full message.
I've done the edit>references>scratch disk thing and set it to the drives with the most memory.
open/closed photoshop a few times.
nothing.

it's driving me CRAZY cuz I can't save it or crop it or ANYTHING. I can't do anything without that stupid message popping up.

Lately I keep having dreams that I FINALLY got my camera.
And in the dream, I keep running around taking spiffy pictures.
Then I wake up and feel like crying, for I don't have a camera.

Does anyone else do this thing where they'll like...be walking/driving/whatever around, looking at the scenery, and then in your mind, zoom in, focus, and snap a picture in your head? Gahh, I do this all the time. Anytime I see something picture worthy...And then I proceed to either look at all the little details in the picture, or if it was to be stock, imagine the picture I'd make with it.

I do that FAR too often, so was wondering if anyone else did, or if I'm just weird O_O

Myspace music players aren't working now and it makes me want to shoot myself in the face cuz I was in the middle of listening to a song that's only on myspace.

Canon Rebel XT versus Canon Rebel XTi

Well, my mom is getting ready to buy Christmas presents. I've made it perfectly clear that I want nothing more than a camera! Preferrably with the lense I want, extra memory card and battery, tripod, carrying case and all that jazz...but just having the camera with enough stuff to let it work is enough for me! Since my bday is in January, I figure I'll ask for any extra lense or whatever I'll want then.

BUT, my predicament resides as thus.
Which one do I want?
Out of all the wondiferous camera's out there, I've settled for the Rebel since it's relatively cheap and will do what I want it to until I get a job and can afford something better when the time comes around.

Naturally, I want the XTi. 10megapixels! Since it's basically the same price, then it only makes sense you should get the next step up, right?

But does that necessarily make the XT bad? My mom seems to already be settled on buying me the XT, so I'd love to know the good/bad points to it. Also, what exactly makes the XTi better than the XT?
Any opinion you can offer comparing the two or just info on one, I'd love to hear it all. I really don't know much about cameras- I've just seen pictures taken with both and based my opinions on that. So give me anything you got please!

So I'm working on some stuffs for a HP site, and I started throwing this banner together. I think it ended up being too dark, and it's gonna be a pain to animate again if I decide to un-dark it.

I still have NO idea how to use imageready. Seriously. I have no idea if I'm animating right! I opened it in imagready though and saved 'optimized as', cuz I THINK that makes it a small file. Am I right? Is it small? Or is it HUGE?

So anyone who read my last journal knows that I'm not allowed to talk/see my boyfriend for a MONTH.
Well I talked to him today [] and it turns out he's not allowed to see ANY of his friends, be on the internet, be on the phone, or go out for this month.

And I was just like

All that because of being in my house?!

So, what does a busy body blue hair do?
She im's his stepmom [cuz she's sure as hell not calling her! ]

Well. Maybe five minutes pass with no response, and suddenly my phone rings. It says 'Brad' is calling from his home number, and I'm like OMG HE'S STILL AT SCHOOL NO WAY.

So I answer, and it's THE STEPMOM OF DOOOM.

And she explained to me that it wasn't the fact that he was in my house, it was the fact that apparently he sneaks around too much to see me. And that when he got caught in my house, he kept on lying to try and cover himself or something. And while he was already AT my house, he called her and told her he was still at school and about to drop by, and she knew he was already here.

All of that made perfect sense, cuz, well...it's true. I guess I'm just so used to ME doing the same thing to my mom that I didn't really notice he was doing it, or that his rents cared.

So she then tells me that all the sneaking and lying, plus blowing up at her more than once was the reason for all of the groundation. And that they'd let him call me everyday for a few minutes if he wanted to, just as long as he wasn't lying about it or whatever. And that if he stops being so sneaky, they'll let up on him.
Her example was, 'Like if we go out of the house, and ten seconds later he's on the internet when he's not supposed to be. If he doesn't do that, because we'll know and check up on him, then we'll let him have it back sooner.'

So I feel a LOT better now. I know he's kinda pessimistic at times, so that might make all this harder, but now I know it's not as much my fault as I thought it was. I'm not allowed to talk OR see my boyfriend for a MONTH.

Why?

Cuz his evil stepmom showed up at my house and found out he was in there with no one home [besides me of course].

So of course that automatically means we're in there having sex or something. Which, we WEREN'T.

But she's evil, and hates me, always has, so she yelled at him. I didn't get to talk to him until a little bit ago, so I spent all night and this morning worrying how much trouble he was in. And the verdict is, no Bethany for a month.

It's so friggen STUPID how much they hate me [they being his rents]. And that just because we're 16, whenever we're alone we're doing something bad. Or that if we're on the bed, we're doing something sexual.

It's been a pretty offline week for me.
I had a ebay obsession for a few days there, and finally killed it a bit by buying a shirt and running out of money.

I'm allergic to fish! And I accidently ate it and it took me almost HALF of it to figure out it was fish. I was like OMG NO WAY. And started gagging and choking and crying, and ran to the bathroom to puke. I'm shaking and gagging right now just remembering it!!! Not only am I allergic to it, but it's GROSS, and the mere thought of eating something scaley and that's been in nasty nasty water just GROSSES ME OUT. *shudder*

_{I'm FINALLY done checking all the journals! Yes, I read all the journals of everyone I'm subscribed to, and usually before I look at the devs waiting up there I've gone through maybe 500 devs in the past two days though, slowly slowly slimming the number down!

And now it's really funny cuz it's all 1111 and 666 Being easily amused, I find the coincidence of both numbers being all of the same really awesome

In other news, my sister leaves in about an hour. ust has to pack up all her crap in the car and GO.

It's really weird, I don't really know what to say to her when she leaves. I've never really gotten along with her until recently, but I've never hugged her in my life so that'd be weird to do when she walks out the door. I guess I'll just say, bye, have fun?

I missed my interview yesterday and Burger King. So I don't think I'm getting the job there now...mean old asian lady + missing appointment = not good for potential employee. I broke down and cried for a while, I was so looking forward to finally having a job! And I missed it because I was bloody SLEEPING. I forgot to set any alarms, I didn't know I'd fall asleep, and despite everyone knowing I had to be there at three, no one was nice and attempted to wake me up T_T So selling prints is a dud, and working is a dud, it SUCKS.

I can only hope my Leila provides me with some much needed entertainment. That won't be for HOURS though, until school gets out and drill practice is over, but still. We plan on shooting some stock and stuffing our faces.

I think once my mom & sister are out the door and on the road, I'm just gonna sit and cry for a while. Sounds oh so emo, but I need a good cry. I'm just so aggravated at the way things are going, and how nothing's looking up for me and crap.}

_{[I'd really love it if anyone could mention this journal entry in their journal...I know my stuff isn't the most awesome stuff in the world, but SOMEONE out there surely wants something T_T]}

My sister's 18th bday is coming up in about twoish threeish weeks, and she's leaving for college this week. I really want to get her something nice even though we don't always get along. She's gonna be spending her birthday alone/surrounded by new people, and I know that sucks, so I'd like to get her something to arrive on bday so she can open it and be all happy.
Only problem is I have a VERY minimal amount in my bank account, my mom started me off with less than $50 and then I had to buy the checks, and even if I start my job tomorrow, I won't get paid for two weeks. I have to order it and mail it before the 13th, see?

So I'm gonna throw a little print sale in hopes to raise some funds to get her the present[s].

So I signed up for a paypal account today, despite all my iffiness of it.

And OMG, remind me to be organized when I grow up! My mom used to be really good at it, keeping every little thing filed and laminated and all organized in notebooks. But somewhere along the line a few years ago, she just stopped and started piling everything up in random piles around the house, and when they got in the way, pushing them on top of another.
So you can imagine how incredibly hard it was to find my social security card! I never even knew such a thing existed until a month or so ago when one of my friends pulled it out, and I was like, 'hey, that's cool, where'd you get it?' And they told me you get it when you're born

It has arrived! My first ever stock contest hosted by me and my stock sisters- [who organized this whole thing ], and !

The theme is "Sugar and Spice"

Description- The rhyme goes like this:

What are little boys made of, made of?

What are little boys made of?

"Snaps and snails, and puppy-dog's tails;

And that's what little boys are made of."

What are little girls made of, made of?

What are little girls made of?

"Sugar and spice, and all that's nice;

And that's what little girls are made of."

We want to know your thoughts on this nursery rhyme. Is it accurate? Does it need a little updating? This could be taken as how you think girls are stereotypically seen today, how they do act, or just what it means to be a woman. Personally, all I want to see is a little femininity in your piece. That and me and my stock sisters.

Rules:

This must be a new deviation for this contest, and you must write that it is for the contest in your description of the piece.

You must use female stock from at least two of the stock sister's galleries. You may use other stock as well, just as long as you use ours.

You are limited to three entries.

You must credit us (like always) in your work.

Are DD's getting a LOT less attention?
I mean, I know they're still picking them.
But I've gone to one at the end of the day, and it'll barely have over 30 comments or favourites. Which is just unusual for a DD o.O

Perhaps it's because now you can only find them on the front page rather than having them in that sidebar in v4? I know that's partially the case for me, I always forget to go look at them now that I have nothing to remind me of them.

I dunno, I used to dream of getting a DD, I still do, but now it seems like even if I do, it won't give me the exposure that makes getting a daily deviation so exciting. :/

My sister brought in the mail today and told me I got something from deviantart!

After spending fifteen minute or so trying to figure out how to open the bloody tube, and in the end breaking a pair of scissors doing so, I took out the stuffing to reveal a lovely 10x15 print by *ssecret!

Simply beautiful I'm a sucker for clouds, they're so pretty! I've been on a plane three or four times, and I spend the whole time staring out the window, wishing I could pull a Jasmine and pull in a handful of clouds. It also brings to mind the song, 'Both Sides, Now' by Joni Mitchell.

So I was working on a piece the other night, and I was really starting to like it. It was completly different from ANYTHING I've done before - it was poppy, bubbly, brushy, and colourful. I just wanted something new to add to my portfolio that was boring old manipulations.

But oh, lo and behold, my COMPUTER FREEZES as I click to apply a brush a second time.
At first I just figure it does it's routine take-forever-to-load thing.
BUT NO.
It COMPLETELY froze. I lost my contest entry thus far for the definition contest as well.
I was devastated.

I know I know, 'press save!'
But the thing was, I'd barely gotten started. And then I was on a roll, and it was moving slow, so I just slowly added and didn't think of saving it so close to starting.

AND BAM, ice age and tears.

So I have $1.70 on my deviantdollars from the one print I sold that gave me no profit whatsoever. But I'm looking through the prints, and realizing I can buy absolutely NOTHING for a dollar, and it sucks.

So I'm wondering, should I sell my prints through dA and through myself? I only get 10%, which is really gay, but I suppose some people can only buy stuff if they have deviantdollars.

It just makes me sad that I'd be making no profit off them, and that I'd be selling them for cheaper than what dApints offers.

So that's why I'm asking you lovelies.

So I'm using paypal as a method for people to buy my prints.

But after reading some stuff, it sounds like they charge you something, but I still can't really find out what?

Basically, I just want to know if I charge $20 for something, am I only gonna get $10 ?

I'm trying to make some profit here, not lose it all the shipping printing and fees T_T And if I charge too much, then no one for sure is gonna buy anything!

Anyone up for collaborating?
I'm working on this girl, and I want her to be falling out of the sky into the ocean or something.
But I can't seem to get the right stock images, or get it right. And I don't know how to paint...so...yeah.

So if you get any great and wonderful ideas by seeing this image, PLEASE note me. I might think of a background eventually, but I'm just getting frustrated here. T_T

WARNING: Journal is set back to it's stuffed-with-stuff ness.

Well let's just say I stayed up for more than 11 hours straight, hanging out in the chat rooms and stuff, waiting for v5 to launch. It never came. I decided to take a ten minute nap at 11 50 before the real celebrations started, and thus, slept until three pm. And then my boyfriend came over, so I had no time to join in the party hardy celebrations and try to win anything
Sadness.

I like v5, but it's gonna take some getting used to. Don't like that the latest deviation isn't big, but I LOVE the latest four, with LABELS to the category. I do a lot of different stuff, so I like that people will be able to see a small variety, and know what the intent of the piece was by the category.

THAT'S IT for v5 ness. I know I said it wasn't a v5 journal, I lied.
I have like 100 v5 journals in my watch that I have yet to read.

On another news, I'm still feeling crappy, waffle house told me I failed their little test, my hair needs to be brushed, and excessive gatorade drinkage has led to major stomach pains.

I plan on doing the ten requests, which isn't ten of them yet, soon soon soon. I don't feel like doing art right now, so I don't want them to be half assed, but if I start, I might get in the mood. The annoying stuff from my personal life below.

I'm really bummed out about my stuff as of yesterday.
I look through my finally put together portfolio, and just start crying at how extremely lame it is. I pass by my fair entry, and start crying at that, thinking how pointless it'd be for me to enter, no one gets the meaning behind it.

One night while the mono was pretty bad, I just got up and got on my computer, full of ideas to photoshop. And they kept on coming, up until yesterday.

Now I'm just in complete hate of doing anything in photoshop. I have no ideas, no creativity, and I know if I try to do something, it's not gonna come out right. I've been wanting to try my hand at making ads (inspired from a long car ride looking at too many boring billboards), but I don't know for what. I want to do vectors, but have forgotten how, and never knew the right way to begin with. I want to do fantasy stuff, but just don't know how.

Maybe I've just been looking at too much great stuff here on dA. I see it all, and think about how awesomely fabulous it is, and how I'll never get to that point. It's depressing, and I really hate it.

I was actually liking my stuff for a while there. I felt good about it, it was coming out how I wanted it to, and I felt like I'd been doing a lot of new stuff that I didn't know how to before.
But now, I just feel so simple.

Another added thing to this feeling is school starting.
My mom is refusing to let me go back to public school, again.
So it's my third straight year of sitting at home alone, with no one calling, no one coming over, no one inviting me anywhere. And if the chance arises that I do go out, it's spent with them talking about all their friends at school that I don't know, their classes, their teachers, all the fun they have at school. I smile and laugh on the outside, but it really kills me inside. The fact that they have lives, they have friends, they have a purpose in life.

I've been doing ok the past six months because of my boyfriend, he's kept me company a lot. But now that he's gonna be in school again, and I'm not, he's gonna be busy doing schoolwork, hanging with his new friends, etc. Whenever we talk, he's going to have a story about school.

Me, I have nothing to talk about. I do the same thing, every single day for the past three years. Sleep. Wake up. Photoshop/sit on computer for 8+ hours. Eat. Computer. Sleep. Do it again.
Nothing ever changes. Nothing ever happens. When I talk to him, he expects me to have some fabulous conversation. I never have anything. He asks, hey, what's up, what'd you do today? I say nothing.
It's true.

I really truly hate my life.
Not in the sense that most people do. I like my computer, the stuff I do on it (minus right now). I love my cats. I have a lot of manga and anime and anime merch that makes me smile. I have books. I have a wonderful boyfriend.

I have 50 some contacts in my phone. I have 100 some people on my aim list alone.

But what I don't have is a single person to talk to.
A single person to call and arrange to hang out with.
A single person that would care if I got a job, or cut my hair, or got a new pet.
A single person that I could talk about personal stuff without them retorting with all their personal stuff in a competitive way back.

When my bf went to the beach, I realized even more how really alone I am.
I went a straight week without getting a single phone call, any comments/stuff on myspace/xanga/anything. Without anyone stopping by just to say hey, or come pick me up to take me to the movies or something.
I'm not clingy, but if the tragic day comes that I lose him, I'll have lost the only person I have left.

And that's why I hate it all.
I hate sitting around every day doing nothing.
I hate being left out.
I hate walking up to people and being the only one no one knows.
I hate the sound of absolute silence as I lay awake in my bed for hours on end, just waiting for something to happen.
I hate nothing ever happening.

This isn't an 'I'm gonna kill myself' kinda thing.
It's just an 'I'm so tired of it all' thing.
I have no desire, no will.
I'm not living, I'm just moving through each day.
Same as the last.

I'm really feeling iffy about my stuff lately.
Now that I'm getting it all in print...
I realize just how beginner my stuff really is.
I don't know what I'll accomplish by filling my portfolio other than to look back on the time wasted on such simple stuff.

I'm realizing how cut & pastey my stuff looks.
When I'm working on them, the majority of the ones I'm talking about, it's fne because they're meant to be surreal and get a point across rather than be all artsy.

But...everything I've done. It's just...so beginner. I thought I'd improved, but everytime I go through my stuff looking for my favourites, I realize I have none.

I despise all my work.
There's no meaning, no depth behind it.
I put a lot of effort into them, only for people to look and say, "I don't get it."

I obviously can't do the dark stuff I want to.
I need to just stop completely on that.

My surreal stuff doesn't have any real meaning that comes across. It's just a label to slap across a manipulation that came out crappy in an attempt to justify it.

I have the urge to go through and scrap everything in my gallery.
Maybe even delete it, who knows.

This whole print idea, it's just not working.
Nothing is good enough to sell, and I should've realized that. My RL friends wouldn't buy anything from me, I doubt they even look at my stuff, even more want to pay for it. And everyone interested on myspace convieniently lives out of state, where they have the option of just completely ignoring me after saying they might buy something.

I'm just your typical slap on a filter, cut and paste photoshopper.
Well, I don't use filters at all due to that stereotype. But cut and paste is what I'm all about.

No one who looks at my stuff will actually KNOW how many parts are in a piece. Woke From Dreaming, the standing girl is made of five girls. But somebody just looking at it probably won't know that. Therefore they don't know the effor tthat went into it.
They see the simpleness of the image, and therefore, I'm a beginner.

I feel like just shutting off my computer and never coming back to it.

If I don't reply to comments, comment on your deviations, or anything else, I'm so sorry! My devwatch is slowly building up and it's driving me crazy not having time to go through everything

I've gotten a few potential orders for prints () so I've been working on that.

And I just now got someone saying they want THREE poster sized prints! I'm really excited, it'll be my second sale and not too shabby on the earnings either
But that means I need to work my off tonight, tomorrow, and monday redoing the pictures for poster size! Luckily they're already pretty big, but I just know I'm gonna end up having to touch up a lot of stuff. And if worse comes to worse, remake them.

So I'll be busy the next few days, plus I have to go apply to waffle house and the college bookstore, and do the requests down there, AND get in my second entry for attemptestock's butterfly contest!

It's storming really bad right now, no rain, but thunder and lightning, so I'm afraid to start working on anything in case the power shuts off. It takes a good five minutes for a poster size image to save on my computer, so I don't want to take any chances.

I've edited emergency broadcast with a much needed edited version. Got some nitpicky things out, and framed it up for print. It's one of my most 'I'll buy it when I get money' pieces.

My goodness, getting all this stuff set up for prints is a lot more work than I thought it was! I've been really busy ever since printing out stuff for my portfolio now that my mom's in support of my work!

I've finally got 'no one else believes' started in the big version that'll be used in the fair and in posters or smaller. I'm so sick of looking at it, I can't believe it's my most favourited piece!

Anyway, my mom's taking me to the bank on Monday and opening me up a bank account! Now I'll be able to use paypal, and more people will be able to buy my stuff Question though, if someone in another state has cash, can they get it to me in any other way than concealed cash? Like can they deposit it in my bank account or something? :/

And finally, I'm making some more prints either tomorrow or Sunday. I told my mom that in return for me going to the bunny show and forcing me to start taking vitamins everyday (she's convinced I'm anemic), she'd have to me to Kinko's this weekend to get some more stuff made. I want to FINISH my portfolio, and by finish, I mean for now, with all my personal favourite manips in it. And I have two, possibly three by the time we go there, posters I want to print for inspection of quality!

I've sold my first print! It was through dA prints, and it was 'bleak midwinter', I hope it came out alright! Whoever bought it, thanks! It was my first experience going through setting up a print on here. I hope the quality's good and it's not too dark or anything T_T Please let me know! If you're unsatisfied, let me know what's wrong with it and I'll see what I can do.

Also, you can buy my stuff cheaper than you'd be able to on dA prints now! Read below!

It's taken a few hours, but I've finally gotten a blog up about purchasing my prints! It's on my myspace blog for the time being, simply because the majority of people interested in buying my stuff was on there, but I'll get a journal done on dA about it later today hopefully.

There's (rather large) thumbnails of things I'm offering as prints as of yet. And three that'll be able to be made into poster size, which I'm definately getting for myself at some point!

Once I get some money coming in, more from a job than from selling prints (I don't expect to sell much), I'll be able to send copies to the stock artists and some wonderful people on here that deserve a gift

And the prices are SET. My mom says I'm not allowed to charge anything lower than that, and she's definately not going to let me. The only ones that are allowed to get discounts minus the three-purchase-discount thing are close friends in RL. And everyone I've talked to about print-selling has said the prices are reasonable anyway.

So if you read my words below this contest stuff, you'll see that I'm starting to PRINT. Well.
Now I need a logo! I've been asked by some people for a banner to display on their website, and as of yet, I don't have one.

I don't really need a logo, I have the design in my head for that already. What I need, is the name to be scrawled across/around/under/over the logo!

I started thinking about it last night, and the only things I could come up with were:
Blue Productions
Blue Graphics
Blue Designs

YEAH. That's IT. And the only reason I have that many is because I wasn't sure if productions was the right word, or if it should be graphics, but I didn't like the ring of blue graphics, so I went to designs. But none of them just match, you know?

Phreakyevil isn't really the professional name I'm looking for, neither is shnarfle.

So here's comes phreaky's first contest!
Think of my name!
My real name is Bethany T (you don't need to know the rest. ), and my nickname is Blue since I have blue hair. A lot of people online and in RL call me Gitsy, but my mom doesn't really know about that nickname so she wouldn't get it.
It can be initials.
It can be kitty kitty bang bang.
It can be blue puke brains.
Just as long as it sounds professional, and has cute initials, and has a nice ring to it!

Basically, the logo is a butterfly of some sort, and I want the initials of whatever it is to be either on the wings, or somewhere around them. I'll worry about that, you just worry about the name.

Keep in mind I don't ONLY do photomanipulation, I do photography also, just not very well! I WILL be doing photography once I get a camera for xmas or summat though.
