according to the doc swine flu is much more contagious than i realised, the virus can survive for up to two hours outside of my body and is transmitted through the moisture in my breath. so in a way i am sort of a swine flu fog machine!

on the plus side i can't leave my room for a week, and i've got a cool mask to wear. i can also spend some time catching up on meh artwork, if i can build up the steam, my eyes are killing me.

it was horrible! it had so much potential, but everything was just wrong.
review may contain spoilers but who cares

i'll begin with the positives:
+ the animatronics were almost top of the line, and were fun to watch.
+ the musical score was appropriate, sweet and innocent.
that's it,
now the negatives:
- the story was too short, and poorly conceived. there was little to no moral.
- Max was a brat, none of the characters were really likable. Max began the movie a little monster, and ended learning that being a little monster is ok.
- Carrol sounded and acted like a gangster, he was naive at first and turned violent, he even disemboweled another monster. he reminded me of an abusive parent.
- Max's life was in constant peril, this movie made many potentially deadly things seem like a game.
- there was no real resolution for the wild things in the end, max returned home to his mother who was nothing more than worried about him.
- the Beasts, or whatever they were called, actually had intent to consume Max, and there was skeletal evidence of his predecessors.
- there were many loose ends left by the end of the movie, and many questions left unanswered.
- all the kids sitting around me were either bored by it or confused, if kids don't like a kids movie whats that tell you?

all in all, what i thought would be one of the best movies this year turned out to be one of the worst. watch it for your self if you like, i found it hard to believe this could be screwed up that badly myself.

it occurred to me this week that once one begins a flash, they should finish it before starting others, and especially not waiting a whole year before returning to it. My interactive banshee Flash is more complicated than i remember, but i'm on it again.
this may be the first flash since i joined DA to give "wuya strip"[link] a run for its money.
mind you, its not as perverted, but its better animated and cuter.
my goal is to have it completed by Halloween, so i need to get crackin'.

monday i had to run up to my grandparents on what was literally a matter of life or death, my grandparents are fine, but that about all i'm willing to share.
my car broke down on the way home just about 50ft short of the toll booth on the turnpike, its spitting range out of AAA's reach, and they wont tow it for me until next thursday.
plus there's the usual crap keeping me from animating, but that's just normal. i can't wait to graduate.


THE UPDATE PART:
it was nice of my mom to let me borrow her car so i could go to work/school; but on my way home last night i decided to turn back around and go home to visit my friends, it being Saturday night and all, it seemed a shame to go home right after work. i turned on my blinker and prepared to make a left onto a side street so i could turn around.. and SLAM!
the next thing i knew i was careening into oncoming traffic, everything was really slow, i dodged the cars in the incoming lane and pulled across the center divider, high-centering my moms car, and back into the right lane. it was then that it occurred to me that i had been rear-ended...
i hit my four ways and hopped out of the car, not really giving any consideration to the fact that i might have been injured, and ran over to the other guys truck (either i was going to kick his ass or i was going to see if he was alright, i wasn't thinking at the time).
his green 1993 chevy 1500 was demolished by the back of my mom's 2006 ford tarus.
he was okay, and so i was i (so far as i could tell just yet), but as luck would have it my cell phone was dead, and his cell could only sent outgoing texts, my mom's insurance papers were not in the car either! the guy was nice enough to try to give me a push off the road, and my fury quickly turned into panic. it soon became obvious that my moms rear end was compressed enough that the wheel was wedged and moving the car by hand would be impossible.
so there my moms car sat in the passing lane, dead as a doornail. luckily a passing motorist was kind enough to call the police, the officer that showed up was nice enough to let me borrow his cell phone.
now here i sit, out 2 cars in one week...

i'm thinking of admitting myself to an asylum.

well that went well.
i think it may have a virus, the error reads somthing like "~somthing is greater than less but isn't" i can start it in safe mode, but then it acts all gay and i can't change anything.
it may have something to do with my computer being moved several times in a row, or years of not being turned off at a time.

the worst part is i don't have the money to invest in a new one, and wont for a long time!

but on the lighter side, my art is improving as it always has, and im trying to learn to fly again.
(obviously armpit hair is simply a neglected wing, i think with some love, care and rogain i'll be headed south this winter.

that experience, i'd say, would be a reasonable analog for watching DBZ Evoloution. This movie is absolute garbage! what a waste of fucking time!
the following are my list of complaints thus far:

1.Goku isn't a douche! he would never want to kick someones ass just because he could. he also isn't a drooling moron around girls, sure hes a moron, but a pure one who cant even honestly tell the difference between the sexes. Goku's first kamehameha wave blew up a car on the first try, evolution-Goku couldnt even light a candle with his first one (really). besides that, most of my complaints are are aesthetic.

2. no pilaf, no shuu, no oolong, no pwar, no turtle island, no krillian, no tambourine.. etc.

3.piccolo didn't lay a hand on anyone, and spent most of the movie in pilafs ship, he also clearly wasn't king piccolo. he was also a douche, with no antennae. he overall sucked the cock.

4. bulma wanted to be famous instead of lookin for boys by way of shenron. she was a brunette, but at least she was cute.

5.no reasonable training, the movie moved along very quickly, so quickly in fact it didn't make sense.

6... i forgot the rest, but in general this movie and everyone in it should be stripped, bound, covered in gravy and thrown to a pack of feral poodles.

i'll finish this later, i have work in the morning. :/

on a side note, sonic unleashed rocks!
i could easily do without the wearhog thing, but other than that its the first sonic game in years that has satisfied my need for speed.
and on top of that, i have good news! opposed to all previous sonic games to attempt to enter the third dimension, i have yet to be killed by the camera system. its still not the greatest camera system ever devised, but about 80% of the time its where i need it.

just whining, i'm still constantly at work, except for this weekend when i went to hershey park in the rain when my cold was already starting.
it was kinda nice though, despite feeling like crap i saw lots of oblivious hot girls with wet t shirts.
i saw something horrifying too but i'm not even sure how to go about describing it..
anyway, i guess it will just have to haunt my own mind.

i wonder if some vodka would help, it should have antibacterial properties right?

i think my artwork is really entering a renaissance, especially now that i realize shoulders and boobs are two completely separate body parts.[link]
has given me a lot of helpful criticism on shape: "apples not bananas!"

at least its good delays, a guy at my collage asked me a week or so ago to help him and his friends produce an animatic. so besides me still working on the odd pic that will be my secondary focus.

the above list of priorities is subject to change. especially it being friday, i've got cold beer at home and i'm starving in the computer lab.
i really am excited about the idea, i think i may need to change my style a bit, i've been working hard to get really cartoony, but this guy wants somewhat of a parody of traditional anime style. i should get involved hes gotten damn good, and has been working hard to develop his own anime style. i don't know why he hasn't posted any of that stuff yet though now that hes made his return.

but this zak cartoon is still underway, unlike other cartoons i've proposed, written, and forgotten about

i'm still working on the title sequence, and currently it is not testing my animation skills at all, its taxing my painting skills
my animation will be pushed to its brink with this one though, the title is kids stuff, but it should look really good.

i've learned a new technique for sound editing that should allow me to make longer cartoons than ever without the sound falling out of sync, which is good, because thisun should have a running time of anywhere from 15min to half an hour.

i've finished with my summer job as well, and im making my final preperations for returning to college, (which i still have to make two attempts at before spelling correctly) i took a week off so i could enjoy the last week of my summer.

when i get back from the bar.. if i can remember.. i'll post the last of my "my mind isn't on my work" series of pics, those that are not classified that is, that include further details on the upcoming zak cartoon.

as you can see my mind never leaves my work. its unbelievable just how weird i can get when creatively deprived. ^^
those few pages of notes i posted are just tiny little fragments of my insanity.
while i've been at work i've managed to teach myself to speak in a (REALLY)fake sounding British accent. Australian, and a few others. soon to be featured in my cartoons. the voice i'll use for Mr bee is totally new too.

i had a whole mess of things i wanted to talk about in my journal but at the moment they elude me.

but it's friday, and for the moment, i'm sober. so rather than sleep, i've decided to work on one of my proposed cartoons, if i can just get started ill become totally obsessed, and hopefully finish before school starts again.

i've got 16 credits this semester, and with my writing major i do homework about 8 hours a day
at least its easy not to mention i took a course where i'll learn photoshop, and a bunch of other cool programs

..oh yah i took fencing too!


so far as all the captions in my Spanish book, i did get them all scanned in and there were a hell of a lot more than i thought, many of them pretty damn funny if you don't mind me sayin. i spent about 5 hours putting them into one hell of a flash file, and noticed in the front of it he book i drew them in that "no part of this publication is to be reproduced without written consent from something or other.."

i'm thinking of just posting it anyhow, and claiming it under free rights, under the argument that i have to educate people that im an idiot.. :sigh:
