New Project

Hey everyone who read this. As noticed through my gallery, I have painted quite a few animals for quite a while, and I have decided to take a little break. I have also discovered the little 3X3 canvases which are so much to paint. So I decided to start a little project, where I'm going to paint 9 butterflies on each canvas to make it look like a butterfly collection. I have already painted one butterfly and it has been a challenge, but it's so much fun. I hope to be done in no time and submit the final piece.
Just a little update on what I am up to and wish everyone a happy new year in 2009!

I am back from UCLA!! woohooo....it was so much fun. I didn't learn as much as I wanted, but I did get a chance to experiment and find out my own sort of style. I hope to upload most of the things i did later tonight or tomorrow.

I must say that charcoal is now my favorite thing to do now. We were able to have a live model come in and pose for us. It was really fun.

I'm going to UCLA for 2 weeks, so I won't be updating or doing anything active here, even though i haven't done anything in quite some time. Hopefully, when I come back, I will have works which I can update.

I'll be in UCLA doing an art program where I will be painting and drawing. I'm hoping I can be exposed to different media, but it sounds like i will be working with mainly oils, which is nice. Drawing, however, I hope to gain more experience. I'll be working in charcoal, which will be a big challenge for me. Overall, I hope this will help me and I hope to gain more knowledge. It should be fun.

If i can, I will try to update or keep posted, but that will most likely not happen.

Well, I have been quite inactive/busy. Nothing new to update. But hopefully soon, I can post something.

Tomorrow is National Portfolio Day, so I will be going to San Francisco to show my work to some colleges. That's pretty exciting. I hope will be there. She has some awesome, awesome art. Go visit!

Besides that, second semester! I hope it will go by quickly. I want school to end.

Soooo...National Portfolio Day was pretty intense. I visited with Carnegie Mellon, Pratt University, and Massachusetts Art College. All were quite helpful with critiques and ideas. I might even consider visiting during the summer It was amazing though. All these artists under one roof. I was exposed to all kinds of art from animation artists, to photographers, to fellow painters. It was quite fun, indeed. Now, I need to improve with my art.

I am so excited! I just got a little Welsh Corgi. She is sooo cute! I will add pictures as soon as I know how. She is only 10 weeks old, so we have to train her. My little sister is like the happiest kid on earth.

Art Show

Hey everyone! Just wanted to update that there will be an art show on April 29 at the El Amigo Restraunt in San Jose, CA. I encourage anyone who is interested in painting to come since this art show has a wide variety of oil painters, including myself. So if anyone lives around the area, please come and check out the amazing work these people have done. Thanks!

EDIT: So the art show went great. There were amazing artists there. I was really happy that a number of people showed up! This show was an experience. I sold some of my paintings, which makes me sad But I guess that is what being an artist is about, being able to part with some of your work...

Spring Break!

Ok sooo...a lot of things have happened this week both good and bad. For the good, i did well at my first swim meet (yay me!) and then yesterday i went to a Christina Aguilera concert. OMG IT WAS SOOOO GOOD! I WAS SCREAMING SO LOUD AND WHEN SHE CAME OUT..I WAS LIKE OWIAHREFJKLJZ,BNDK!!! yeah. As for the bad news, my grandfather has moved on and has left me in a sad mood. I will miss him.

How is everyone. Sorry I have not been able to update T.T I have been really busy with school and life. And now, swimming is about to start, so I will be even more busy. SCHOOL STARTS!!! nooooooooooooooooo........i'm a scared. i will not be updating (a lot). because of school and my running, i will not have time at all during teh week to do anything. i might doodle here and there, but nothing big. the only time for me to do art is on the weekends. the one class i'm worried about is physics. i didn't understand it in 7th grade and i doubt i will understand it now. i'm a biology person. anyway, my friend told me that i can't take art as an elective this year either. i was like what the ****! so i guess i have to wait until my junior or senior year.

I went to the doctor today for a thing for school sports and i am finally 5 ft. YESH! it took me about 3 1/2 years to grow half an inch....anyway, as a gift to myself, i bought Howl's Moving Castle...that movie is so awesome. Studio Ghibli and Hayao Miyazaki films are so great.

my parents had a little summer party just now...so there were 2 little girls. One was 2 and the other was about 1. my sister is 7. my sister is riding a tricycle while the other girls watch her....my sister's weird.

school's gonna start soon and i have to finish reading some books *sigh* summer's over too soon....

I just ran 4 times around the school. i'm preparing for cross country....i'm am so not ready. hopefully will join me. anyway as far as my art goes, i'm painting a horse for someone so that will take a while. i'm drawing random stuff. i probably won't update much...and i'm still testing out my pencils. i'm really sad though because i had some nice sakura micron inking pens and i lost them oh well. i have to buy some more happy summer everyone

man it's hot here...it's probably like 105 degrees Farenheit(sp). My poor cat must be dying....So i'm kinda experimenting with me color pencils so hopefully i can submit something with color. Also, does anyone know any good tips about inking? Like what pens to use or anything? I need to practice that too. Hope everyone's not dying like me....

So I have returned from LA. My grandma is doing great after the surgery. Everything went well thankfully. I spent most of my time with my cousins at the beach. We saw dolphins and the surf was ok. I don't know why I bother with a journal since no one reads them by oh well. I'll add stuff soon.

Well today I went to the fair! It was cool cuz i got to see cute bunnies, farmanimals, and me and my sister bought some stuff. There was a little shop that had all these cool anime stuff like posters, keychains, pillows, CDs, and other stuff. I bought a Rock Lee keychain and a Kakashi keychain. My sister bought a Naruto headband and a sweatband that said Naruto. We went there cuz my grandma had to dance. Also, on monday i will be leaving for either LA or Oregon. I haven't decided. I'll post tomorrow probably. I hope to put some more art stuff like some paintings soon, but i have been artisticly challenged. Hope to see Pirates soon

Pretty bored right now. Can't really think of what to draw. My life's been boring until yesterday. Because my sister's been swimming in her kiddy pool we all have to empty it with buckets. So all of us after dinner went out and began emptying it. Since it is usually very boring, my dad decided to splash my sister with it. Then they both got into a big water fight. My mom was watering with a hose (dont really know why) so i took the hose and started to spray my dad. Then he took the hose and ran after me. Out of a total spaz i grabbed the towel from the chair and blocked the hose with it. I looked retarded. So here i am crouched down with a towel covering me, my dad spraying a hose at me, my sister screaming and slipping around, and my mom just sortof disappeared. That is what my life is like. Now i gotta do homework
