I plan to do some serious motion/pose studies in the next few weeks, since my library had some pretty kick-ass books on the subject. I also plan to upload my 2D Design and Drawing I stuff this week, as I've been meaning to do that forever.

On the writing front, it's the same as elsewhere: I need to sit down and just do it. And so I will; I've started writing character references so that my characters' personalities won't be changing all the time (which is always my problem). I'll likely post some of it up here after it's beta'd by my friends.

Basically, I've come to a conclusion about myself, which can be summed up in my resolution for next year- "no more excuses." It seems over the past year or so all I've been doing is half-assing everything, and I look back and want to punch myself for it. When I laugh, I want to laugh like hell, when I'm angry, I want to let it out instead of bottling it up, and when I work, I want to give my all.

'Do or do not, there is no try,' right? Haha.

Anyways, planning's actually going great for Vestige and Pirate Brigade, and I'm planning to do Vestige for NaNoWriMo! I think if I can get myself going, I can keep up the momentum since I really like my plan for it this time.

As for PB, who knows when that'll happen. I'm having fun slowly fleshing out the characters as I learn more about cooking and also the cultures the characters belong to. I'm building their personal histories one by one before I do any more structure for the story.
I really want this story to be driven by most of the characters, unlike Vestige, which is driven by the main character alone.

(I think what little art spirit I have is being used for drawing class... but as you can tell I'm in a writing groove~ yay!)

My foot's feeling a lot better, and I'm REALLY looking forward to being able to walk again in a few weeks. I'm also looking forward to the end of this semester, and freedom for a whole month! Hopefully I will be able to see people from the college I used to go to during this time.

The biggest pain for me is that the throbbing keeps me awake at night (pain meds don't really work on me...) and it's ridiculously hard for me to get anywhere.
I mostly scoot around on the floor since my other foot hurts too (I bruised it pretty badly during the fall).

I'm having surgery Tuesday and, six to eight weeks from now, I should be fine again.

Nothing bad or crazy is going on, it's just I have a lot of things going on at the same time! I can't afford the luxury of spending a long time on the internet every day checking all the websites I belong to anymore.

School, work, and also actually getting progress done on my two projects (the book, and the graphic novel Pirate Brigade) are things I'm concentrating on right now, as well as lots and lots of practice so I can improve as an artist.

TL;DR: I'm going to spend less time with my butt parked in front of the computer and more time doing things that are constructive. If you need to reach me for any reason, email me and I'll probably respond within a day or so.

I start Monday at the local community college... all I have is Drawing I that day, so I think afterwards I'll go apply at Borders and maybe Michaels. And then eat some pho.

Urgh, still wiped out from the beach (Outer Banks, NC) because the waves were INTENSE. This one knocked me down and spun me around on my leg. I have scrapes all over :<
But it was ridiculously fun (and relaxing) as it always is.

I think I'll go to bed in an hour or so; lots to do tomorrow to prepare for school.
(Since I left it all until the last minute as usual, and I was gone for a week...)

(aka, some things I have been thinking about~ ps. this goes for DC too! Especially because of Wonder Woman's creeper creator putting in weird S&M crap in her design :/)

1) More awesome women characters. I would be so happy if Ms. Marvel was in there because she's really cool!! In my opinion Wasp is USELESS. She has SHRINKING POWERS for crying out loud!! I suppose that's better than the female sidekick, a la Pepper Potts, but still... And also, women are too few in number in the comics 'verse...
2) Stop making creepers, for example Ant-Man aka Giant Man. (Just... UGHHHHH WHAT A DOUCHE!)
3) More lovable silliness like out of Thor like in the animated 2006 movie<33 So much love for that (slightly nutty) Thor. Thor is dumb when characterized too seriously, in my opinion.
And also, the Iron Man testing montage. So cute<3
4) More minorities! Although Samuel L. Jackson as Fury is awesome and kick ass, definitely don't think that one black dude fills the quotient.
5) No almost-real CGI in the style of Beowulf. CGI of people looks terrible to me and I won't see any movie made in that style. Just... it's got this woodenness, this emptiness that creeps me out in ways I can't fully explain. Stick to cartoons OR real life, not in between :/
6) Please stop naming the "girl versions" the same as the originals, such as She-Hulk and Thor Girl. It's LAME!
Also, please stop recycling old, shitty characters no one cares about.


I don't get too fed up about all this since some day, I'll change it all for the better (or at least help)

PS. I think Deadpool's in the Wolverine movie!

Sort of, haha. In the way that House is attractive. Like, "Wow, they're a really cool fictional person! But I'd go insane like the people around them if they lived with me!!"


PERSONALITY

1) Temper?
She has none while on heroin. Literally. Someone could stab her and she wouldn't get angry.
As for when she's clean? Yeah, you could say she's got a bit of a temper. But it's more of a quick-to-get-annoyed temper rather than quick-to-attempt-murder temper. However, on a few things, she will get so pissed that she'll beat up people or even try to kill.

2) Does your character ever get depressed?
SPOILERZ
Frequently, but she hides it from most people because she doesn't want to worry them. Or forget the cause.
But after an incident brings her down so deep she can't get out by herself, she's forced to share her pain.

3) Leader or Follower?
Leader.

4) What is the main aspect of her personality?
Her battles with her own past, and current addiction.
Fierce independence, and a love of justice.
Tough as nails physically, but emotionally unstable due to the fact that she is way too hard on herself (plus the effects of drugs).


BACK-STORY

1) Did your OC have a family of any sort? If so, are they still alive?
Raised by her mother (1/2 Japanese) and grandmother (full Japanese) in Japan.
They're still alive, but they haven't kept in contact since she moved to America and became an addict because they're ashamed of her.
They have hope that she'll recover one day and come back to Japan, though.
(Note: they were embarrassed of her before, what with her behavior and all, but her moving out without warning pushed it over the edge so to speak.)

2) Is your character out on her own? If so, why?
Yes, she is. She is living on her own in America after living in Japan all her life because something terrible happened there.

3) Has she encountered any traumatizing events?
O HAY MOAR SPOILERZ
She was one of the most well-known members of a bike gang in Japan when she was younger. (Middle school age to about 20.) Later on, she met and fell in love with another member, Shinya, after racing him one night. He was the first person to beat her with such a lead, so she was impressed and wanted to know who he was.
They came to like and later love each other. Jenny encouraged him to follow his dream of being a MotoGP racer, and helped him manage his budding career.
His times qualified him for an important national race six months into his training.
He won there, and qualified for his first MotoGP race, and won sponsorship from a major name. Everything he ever wanted was all coming together, it seemed like.
He felt a little sick before the race, but other than that, everything was going great. He asked Jenny about it, and she smiled and said it was probably just nerves.
He was planning to ask Jenny to marry him after the race. The ring was in his bag.
And then... one lap from the finish, he crashed into a wall, and tragically, died.

Did Jenny really have anything to do with it? She thinks so, and has a hard time with it, to this day (6 years later). She still thinks about what the true cause of the crash could have been...

4) What was probably the best time in her life so far?
Her life until Shinya died.

Not much has been going on, eagerly awaiting my copy of Sims 2 and Sims 2: Open For Business to come, and watching some neighbors' pets this weekend. Not much time to write as of yet, sadly, but that'll probably change next week after I get all this stuff with college resolved.

Ana could probably be a good theatre teacher or such, since she has a lot of self-confidence and people skills, but I think that Reina would make the better professor since she actually has book knowledge from going to college herself! That, and she actually does want to teach baking at a cooking academy when she gets too old for all the excitement of working in a kitchen.

2) Do you think 2 (Binh) is hot? How hot?

He’s not hot at all, I feel kind of sorry for him. D: He’s cute and kind of kiddy-looking, though. The kind that makes you wanna go “D’AWW” and pull their cheeks.
This is probably not because of his actual looks (he’s handsome, although short), but because of his innocent and shy personality.

3) 12 (Mike) sends 8 (Mi-hi) on a mission. What is it, and does it succeed?
Jenny yells profanities at Mike because there’s no pork left and she needs table 4's katsudon her hand, dammit! She’s fed up and twitchy, and so, scared and not wanting to test her today, Mike decides to get the pork.
…However, there’s a huge pile of dishes and pots in the sink, so he decides to call Mi-hi for a favor. Unfortunately, the Jade Empress is busy as usual, and so she can’t come over with the pork.
Jenny scolds Mike despite the fact that he was only on the phone for one minute, and slinks off to see if there is some skanky, frost-bitten pork in the back of the walk-in.

4) What is or would be 9's (Jaime) favorite book?
“The Mediterranean Caper”… or anything else by Clive Cussler.

5) Would it make more sense for 2 (Binh) to swear fealty to 6 (Ana), or the other way around?
Well at first no one listens to Binh, but after a while, everyone comes to follow him (including Ana, obviously).

6) For some reason, 5 (Leon) is looking for a roommate. Should he share a studio apartment with 9 (Jaime) or with 10 (Wu Lei)?
While he could share an apartment with either, he’d probably choose Wu Lei since they know each other and get along well. That, and Wu Lei’s a lot less crazy than Jaime.

7) 2 (Binh), 7 (Jenny) and 12 (Mike) have dinner together. Where do they go, and what do they discuss?
They have dinner every night together, haha… usually just some white rice and scraps of meat. They talk about whatever’s on their minds that day, whether it be finances, love (Jenny is totally convinced Binh’s gay for Jaime), each other’s issues…

8) 3 (Cesar) challenges 10 (Wu Lei) to a duel. What happens?
Even though Wu Lei is nice and competes in what Cesar knows (running), he totally kicks Cesar’s ass at it since he’s worked all positions in a restaurant before.
