First off I would like to thank everyone for these amazing suggestions you've given us, please, keep them coming.
In an attempt to slowly get us up and back working condition here I am going to be working independently on a new suprise project as a gift to everyone. But at the same time, it is going to promote some discussion and mabey even ... *big eyes* it will be the new threshold we need to go full force into the future. In order for me to do this idea of mine, I would like every deviant to link this journal their favourite piece of poetry they have written. That is all I need. I will collect these for two weeks and two weeks only so do not dawdle please. March fourth is the cutoff. Poetrehab is still having a makeover but with all of your support we can get up and moving again soon. Please keep suggesting.

Thank you for the input regarding this journal and its questions. Please keep your suggestions coming in, despite the slight hiccup with the updated journal. All have been taken in and will be processed by the staff.

Just a thought...

With most groups it seems, on this website, a large proportion of its watchers do not include themselves within journals or contests. This is a common thing - look at your list of watchers and see how many you have in comparison to the comments you get on your work. The ratio is interesting, right?

It seems many of the watchers prefer your avatar as opposed to your writing. Another fact of 'net' when it comes to this large website and 'friends'.

Where am I going with this?

We need to know if a sufficient number of members would welcome the possibility of opening a channel on the 'dAmn' network. Take a browse through it now and you'll notice there are hundreds of rooms which are deceased. Nobody exists in them.

A possible #poetrehab channel would enable the group to come together in a more 'social' sense as opposed to the frequenting of journal entries. Of course, if we had a subscription, life on this group would be far more easier.

1. You must write about a woman with brown hair that sometimes seems red. She spends a lot of time in her basement and she never smiles. You can take it from there .

2. Prose/flash fiction may not exceed 500 words, but it can be less if you want it to be.

3. Must, somewhere and in any tense, include the words:

hustle, womb, film, honey, ugly, peach, teeth, cocoa, and rubber .

4. You cannot use the words:

hair, smile, stairs, darkness, love, hate, alone, sadness.

5. Be sure to specify if you believe what you are writing is prose or flash fiction. Also, in the artist's comment's section, tell why you may or may not consider flash fiction a viable piece of literature. You can totally bash it if you want to, as long as you have a good excuse.

As can be seen, the rehab is in typical disarray. There is broken hearts, torn flesh, and lots and lots of promiscuity.

Well I am here to put a stop to that. (not the promiscuity though...cuz you people need to have fun).

My summer was chock-full of boring shit.
1. working in a medical library
2. sitting around reading.
3. etc. etc. etc. with the sitting around.

But I am back. And that is all that matters.

Well...as it is, my dad is a raging maniac. So, I pretty much cannot go on the computer anymore at home now (just at work...and I don't work too often).

Thus, I was wondering if anyone would like to take over the ol' ~poetrehab until I get back to school on August 28th? I know this totally bites, but I SWEAR things will be up and running by ME by then.

It will have to be somebody I trust not to go into lunatic mode with this thing and actually give it back at the end of August. Also, they would have to be talented poetically (because well hell, you are judging poetry so you better know how to write yourself).

I am set to be quite busy in the next few weeks, as my time will be largely made up from exams. Gah to them. This will mean that the contest will be delayed for a while, well until a firm title is devised anyway. As seen in the previous contest, Contest Five is likely to have a stimulus as a word/theme in which word restrictions and word usage will be considered.

As the deadline is 24th May (as we all know) - today or tomorrow, I will be cutting a shortlist of SIX entries on this page that have passed the first round! This then makes it easier for the process of elimination to the final three.

...what I liked about this poem was its originality. Jess didn't just write about abstractly about a girl sitting in water with a moon over her, she wrote about a woman and her experiences with a man who hurt her. I found its originality to be beautiful and the second to the last stanza was extremely original.

I have decided the experimental contest is over TOMORROW...(5/6/04) seeing as it is my last day of classes.
