Thank you to everybody who made this time easier on me. All your comments really meant so much to me. I'm going to try to get back into the swing of things a bit, I've missed drawing and looking at all the wonderful art on here. My art just hasn't come out the way I've wanted it to, lately. Maybe a reflection on my mood?

But yes, thank you all so much. My mom would've been so happy to know that everybody here has been nothing but kind to me. And you all definitely have been!

As a final note, my messages and Deviations are extremely backed up right now, so it might take me a while to get to some things. I'll get there, though.

The brain cancer took her from us.

The funeral was Saturday. It was the hardest day of my life.

I'm sorry that I've come and gone so much and left so much of my work undone. Things just got worse and worse.

She was a wonderful woman. I love her so much, even after she's gone. She enjoyed this site and looking at mine and other's art - she saw every SAN the Bearded Dragon picture drawn by everybody, and loved them all. She only made a few comments on this site, she had planned to start getting more involved, but that was around the time she started getting sick. But I promise you that everybody here would've loved her. I plan to continue drawing her character Mariah Meerkat, even if I can't show the pictures to her like I've always done.

Sorry if I come off sounding weird or silly, I don't really know what to say with these types of things. Saying too little seems like an insult to her memory, but saying too much hurts. And no matter how much I say, I will never be able to get across how wonderful she was to me, and how wonderful her memory will always be to me.

So I'm going to end this saying thank you to everybody who's been there for me during the time when my mother was sick. The kind messages everybody left for me on here helped. It really made things easier on me to know that me and my family were in people's prayers.

Merry Christmas everybody.

I wanted to take this time to update everybody on how things are going, as well. My mom's currently in the hospital, we're about to visit her now. They originally said the brain cancer was getting worse and was causing everything for her, but now that things are getting a bit better for her (though she still has some problems with her speech) they're saying it looks like a stroke instead.
We're hoping she'll get home tomorrow, she still has an MRI to do. Then I think from there they decide if she needs to do Chemotherapy or not. I'm not really sure what comes next. We'll see, I suppose.

Anyway, just wanting to let everybody know I haven't left, I'm just still busy with life, even on Christmas. I hope everybody has a happy holidays!

Michael Crichton died yesterday at 66 of cancer.

I'm utterly devastated. I've already cried.

Michael Crichton wrote some of the best books of all time, including Jurassic Park, Congo, Sphere, Timeline, Prey, The Andromeda Strain, and my personal favorite, Airframe. He's been my favorite author for years and years, and the fact that I won't ever be able to grab a new book of his off a shelf is absolutely horrible in my eyes. I want so bad to read Prey and Jurassic Park and Sphere and all those wonderful books over again but I think that would just depress me more right now....

Yesterday, the world lost a little of it's light. I feel a lot like I did when Steve Irwin died. Where have my heroes gone?

It's kind of hard to figure out how to say....or type....this, and saying it on here makes it seem more real, but....I want this out there.

Today, my mom got diagnosed with brain cancer. She had a stroke a few days ago - admittingly, a mini stroke - then a seizure the next morning, I found her shaking, bleeding from the mouth (she bit her tongue) and she act like she couldn't breathe very well. We had to call 911.

They said it may be what the cancer in her breast was trying to now pop up in her brain, but I don't know. They said they're going to start treatment on it tomorrow, and hope that works out. There's more to it, but I don't really feel like going into detail right now. There's a few people I really want to talk to right now, but they're not on AIM. To sum everything up in two little words: I'm scared.

I'm probably going to be around here, and I'm half working on art trades, but I really can't say I'll complete them right away. Sometimes, I feel like if I don't go online, work on art, or talk to people - this is how I feel now, obviously - I'll go crazy, so when I feel like that, I'll probably end up working on them and posting them. Sometimes, though, I feel like laying down and never getting up. I will get everything I owe done - frick, I got some of it almost done the few days before this happened - I just really can't say if all this will cause me to pump them out right away, or if I'll just lay around all day.

I'm amazed how well my mom's taking it; I know she's being strong for me, and so is dad. I was being pretty strong (well, for me) until the doctor said "we had somebody who did very well with brain cancer and lived four and a half years." That's somewhere about the time when my head felt about to explode.

I'm going to be hanging around here, looking around art, commenting and favoriting and such. I think I'll feel better. But, if I seem to have answered somebody else and ignored you, please don't be mad; I'm really not ignoring you, I might just have started feeling bad and went to bed before I managed to get to your comment or art or whatever.

Thanks everybody; I'm sorry. I'm really trying my best. I drew a ref for my mom's Mariah Meerkat character, I might actually try to finish that up tonight. I'd like that to be done before she gets home. They think she'll get home tomorrow. That'd be nice....

Gah. I need to update this journal more. XD I'm just horrible at thinking of things to say.

I seem to have a bit of a coloring block. ;-; I sketch like crazy, don't feel like coloring, and by the time I DO feel like coloring, I don't like the sketch anymore so I sketch different pictures. Right now, I feel like coloring, but have no sketches I want to color. It's insanity, I tell you.

Hey. ^_^ Still taking art trades/requests, as always.

Sorry I was gone for a little bit! My mom had surgery for breast cancer Friday (it actually WASN'T breast cancer, it was another kind of cancer, just in her breast) and she came out great! She came home the next day! I've been trying to help around the house and everything, but she's just doing so great....and the cancer didn't spread! I'm so happy, I really am.

I'll be getting to my deviations and messages now, and of course I'm working on my art trades and requests! Sorry if they're just a little late, but I haven't had much time to work on them for a few days. ^^ It seems I've come back to some really great stuff! I'm also sorry I didn't let anybody know I might be gone for a bit, it just sort of...snuck up on me.

Also, it's my birthday really soon! The 24th, in fact. I'll be 18. How on earth did that happen? I mean, I was only 10 yesterday, right? I surely stepped into some kind of time warp.

Oh! Also, I forgot to post here, my AIM changed to pokemastersan5 because I lost my password for my old AIM name, and it would never let me change my E-Mail to my new one for some reason. >.< Feels like I lost a part of me, I'd had that screen name for about 5 and a half years now. Oh, well, I guess it was about time to change it to Pokemaster SAN, anyway. My AIM's been the only thing I haven't been Pokemaster SAN on for about five years now. XD

Anyway, this was also posted at my Live Journal, I'm copy and pasting it here. Since DeviantArt has a journal, too, I figured I'd just post it instead of linking it.

Thanks to everybody for worrying about me, and wondering where I went for so long. I'm sorry it's taken me this long to update everybody on how I'm doing, and letting everybody know why I suddenly disappeared off of everywhere online for....what, nearly two months now? And why I haven't been answering most of my AIMs or E-Mails. Let me get to explaining everything that's been going on.

First off, about a month ago, my uncle had surgery for an aneurism, he came out alright, but I was still very worried.

Then, my dad had to have the same surgery. Since it involved his Kidney, they couldn't go up through his leg, so it was a bit of a rough surgery. He came out alright, as well. I was extremely scared, though, and had to go into the vending room near the waiting room with my mom and cry. My Aunt Laura and Uncle Dub came up that day and waited with us, and it really made me feel more comfortable. I enjoyed their company a lot.

After the surgery, they were worried because he wasn't peeing. So, the next day, they told us that it looked like his other Kidney failed because of the surgery. I offered him one of my Kidneys, (since my blood type can be given to any other blood type, it should work with him) but he wouldn't accept it....then mom offered him one of her's, and my Aunt Fearby offered him one of her's. He wouldn't accept either of their's, either, so he'll have to be on dialysis. He's gone several times already.

Then, the next day, when they put the shunt in, his heart started beating extremely fast, so thy had to give him some medicine to calm him down, but he got extremely sleepy. So they gave him some medicine to wake him up, which it did, very well, but he was confused when he woke up - he didn't remember that he'd had surgery, and couldn't understand what was going on. Me and mom were worried, but when we got back later4 that day, (the next visiting time) he was fine. We just had to explain over about his Kidney and such. They said it was probably because he had a ton of medicine in him, and on top of that, it wasn't getting filtered out because he couldn't pee. He was in CVICU for five days. He also had surgery on his arm a few days after he got out of CVICU to get ready for his shunt in his arm, and everything went well with that. He's home now, and doing well.

To top off all the mental stress I had, the morning of my dad's surgery, I woke up with a horrible case of the flu. I felt so sick for a bunch of the time my daddy was in the hospital. My mom felt so sorry for me, and I felt pretty sorry for myself, to be honest. I feel completely better now, though. And by the time my dad had gotten into a regular room, I felt a whole lot better, like new, really.

My mom has had some health problems of her own. She had a heart attack, which scared the crap out of me, but she's okay now. She's also got to go for tests, though, because she's found a lump....her mom had breast cancer, so I'm worried, but we think it might not be it, since it does feel kind of like a really bad bruise or something, and it's also hurting her arm and neck. But I've still got this on my mind, too....

As far as my health goes, I'm having problems, as well. My jaw surgery is coming up soon, and it's going to be a major surgery, because, if I remember correctly, they have to lower the top of my jaw, pull it forward, then remove a bone from the bottom of my jaw and pull it back. My underbite will finally be gone, and I'll finally be able to eat tough things and not swallow a ton of my food whole, and, you know, I might actually be able to show teeth when I smile....but I've even considered not having it done. I know I need to have it done, it's effecting me both physically and mentally, but this'll be my third major surgery....I'm only 17....but, at least, this one won't be nearly as life threatening, I'm still scared. I've been having to see a specialist, because I have to get my teeth completely clean and everything before I can even think about having surgery. I've also got appointments for my arm and back. My arm's still hurting me, and my back's starting to hurt me, now. As well as appointments to deal with my Social Avoident Disorder, since not being able to talk to people I don't know is really starting to suck.
