The 3D work is... different. More like working as a photographer or movie director, rather than directly as an artist. The pics in my gallery labeled TFC04 at the start of the pic names are ones that I did on-site, mostly doing 'quick sketches' where for a really low price I would do the pic and ink it in 15 to 20 minutes. Bear that in mind, especially when looking at the line art ones. The color ones in that set were CG colored on site as well.

I'm about halfway done with the light and shadow effects for the next version, after which this commission will be done. I'll probably add more detail to the shield, and change the color of the shield a bit, but this is pretty close to what it will look like when done.

One fellow who saw that one asked for a caricature of him in the same style, but more portly, and with somewhat different gear. I've got to be crazy, taking a commission where I have to hand-draw a tartain plaid again. And a specific clan tartan, at that.

I found some awesome 1/6 scale artists models, and picked up a male and  a female. We're not talking about the cheap, featureless, solid wood models that you can barely pose for anything more complex than walking or sitting.

Nah, these babies have fully deatailed facial and muscular features, and are so well jointed that you can do almost any pose. Over 30 points of articulation! I put the female in half-lotus, and posed the male seated and doing diagonal toe touches!

They are the 'Art S. Buck Artist's Models', by Sideshow Toy. less than $20.00 US each. This project is an original pencil/ink hand drawing, scanned in as two separate pics, one for the foreground (character and fire) and one for the background (wood shack, and a tree that almost completely got cropped out of the final version). From there it was scanned into Photoshop (version 3.0 for Macintosh) at 600 DPI, where I added the coloring, shading, final details, and special effects like transparent smoke.
