Dear members,

I'm cancelling the Carnival Contest because no one, apart from ~UnicornPhantom submitted anything.

To tell the truth, I had a feeling something like that would happen, it's just like during the Christmas Contest: lots of people saying they are interested, and in the end, the club receiving practically nothing. In this case, really nothing.

I'm sort of disappointed, but I understand that some of you have exams, personal issues, connection troubles or whatnot, but I've decided I won't do a contest again, unless you are the ones asking for it.

Anyway, a big thank you to , who remained true to her word, saying she would draw something, and really drawing something!

The PBL Club is going to have its first CONTEST!

The theme of the contest is Christmas Leon. Simple, eh? ^_^

Rules

-Who can join? Basically anyone! You can be a PBL Club Member, a PBL Club Supporter, or just someone from outside who likes Leon S. Kennedy!

-Who can vote? However, only PBL Club Members can vote, because I don't want people who submit entries to ask all their friends to vote for them, it's not fair. (I will allow PBL Supporters though, but only those I know of, and for the moment, there's only *Alamus in the case.)

-What should I submit?

The main focus of the deviation has to be Leon in a Christmas atmosphere (duh)

The use of any other major Resident Evil character who has been in a game with Leon is FORBIDDEN. Yep, sorry but as you know, this is a Leon club, so for example, no Claire, Ada, Krauser etc. I will let clubs dedicated to games Leon's been in handle that. However, you can draw Leon with (for example) Chris/ or Marvin Branagh/ or Villager, etc.

No bad taste (i.e. nudity, blood/gore, etc) please! After all, it's for Xmas. Make it viewable for our younger audience!

You will earn an extra vote from me, if you draw either:

-An RE2-ish Leon, or an RE1.5-ish Leon ^_^ (you know, old school Leon )
-Or something humorous involving Dante of Devil May Cry (if you know the story behind RE4) or "The Fog" (enemy of beta RE4)

-When is the deadline?

~abyssinian is finally back in business! Sorry it took me so long to get in gear, but what with jetlag, going back to college, being lazy etc, life was sort of hectic for the past 2 weeks.

I promise, the second issue of the PBL Times will come out very soon.

Right now, what I gotta do is:

-Check on the members, as always ^_^
-Add new art submissions to my "members submissions" folder (I'm starting to upload them now that I'm back)

So why create a club about Leon you ask? I think you've got a glimpse of the answer: he stars in kickass games, and he's himself a kickass character! My personal reason is that he is my first video game male character ever, and I tell you, when you're thirteen and fending for your life in a city full of zombies, the person out there to protect you matters a lot ^__^!! I didn't create it sooner because I was away from DA for a while *coughtwoyearscough* and when I came back, I wanted to join some clubs, and couldn't find a Leon one O_O so here I am, creating one myself.

speaking! I've had a connection for awhile now, but I've been busy cleaning my own account (you wouldn't believe how crazy some of the people I watch are... hope they don't see this LOL). And also, to tell the truth, the connection I have isn't great, so I'm just back for a bit.

Dear members,

As you can see, this is the very first issue of The PBL Times. It is the brand new format of the club's journal. It is a special edition though, as it is a two-month issue. So, what's new?

Gossip

-Leon and the founder, ~abyssinian, are going on a mission to China from July 25th until October 2nd. They won't have any computer/internet access during August. In September however, if everything goes well, they will have their own computer and internet connection. But as they are abroad, the updates will be scarce and small. They apologize in advance, and hope you'll all understand. ^_^

-Paul Mercier still hasn't answered. But I did find another email address and I'll be trying that out right away, in case the one I used was too old. I will apologize for... "harrassing" (LOL) him, but since I'm going away for quite awhile, I wanted to make sure he got my mail, and tell him that if I don't reply fast (if he himself replies first) it's because I have no net access.



-We obtained more than 1,000 hits, in less than a month!!! (The founder is truly a madman >D) Thanks to everyone!! Love to all members and supporters!!

The "Real" Leon?

If they ever make a Resident Evil movie with Leon... who would you choose to play his role?

-My personal choice would be Christien Anholt, who played "Nigel Bailey" on the Relic Hunter TV series. When I first watched, my mind screamed "Leon!!!" According to me, he looks just like him. Too bad he's short (Well too short to be Leon at least... he's only 5'7". Leon should be at least 6' something... IMO). Oh and of course, it was at the time of RE2 Leon.

July 14th:

Hello everyone! I'm moving the 'updates' section to the top, that way you won't have to scroll all the way down ^_^ I'll keep it that way in the future.

Variety:

Some of you who submitted multiple pics to me (*xylael, ~Leena-Erufu) might have noticed: I uploaded one of your pics, and then switched to someone else. I'm uploading in the order in which pics were sent to me, but I want to give everyone a chance, before going on holidays (more about my departure in the next journal) And anyway, variety is good, right? ^_^


Renaming:

You guys who submitted art to me probably noticed how I renamed some of your pics. I do that in two cases:

The original pic is named "Leon"/"RE4 Leon"/etc. I get too many pics called that, so I try to give them different titles (except when I really have no ideas lol). After all, we are *the* club dedicated to Leon, so it's pretty obvious he'll be the main focus of our deviations, so originality in the titles is good I think.

Members' pics that I upload are named as such: by . I make a point in absolutely writing the member's name in its entirety.

So that's why I hope you don't mind when I rename your pic/truncate its title ^_^


Changes:

Starting next one, the titles of the journals will become "The PBL Times - Issue # insert number here" I will also move the info about Leon/RE away, because I think I've rounded up all the people there is to round up lol (I still get notes from people who wanna join though). I will update the journal on Monday, and maybe one last time before I go away (end of July).

That's why I added an artwork that has nothing to do with RE or Leon. As our first favorite, Dante of Devil May Cry! I think that among my members, there are fans of him as well ^_^ Made for yours truly by a very good friend, ~Kunishirou! Visit her if you like this pic! I might have to remove it in the future, because she thinks about joining the club LOL. Just so you know, she isn't a member, she's only devWatching so that she doesn't forget about the club... If she really joins, I'll remove the fav.

Voice Actors:

Yesterday, ~Optomizm asked if I could show a pic of Leon's voice actor in the club's next update. Well I went to search and all, found some but they were very small and you couldn't see well. I thought, what the heck? Then I decided to mail Paul Mercier >D and I asked him if he could send some pics for the club. I'm waiting for his answer ^_^ Once I receive the pics (if I receive the pics) I'll make a collage with the pics I have of Paul Haddad, Leon's previous voice actor.

a) Submitting Art

Thank you for all your art! So far we have a dozen (o_O!!) submissions! I'll update them one at a time so that everyone can enjoy them ^_^! By the way, if your art is in the blank .png format, I can't save it. I use the 'print screen' command to save it, but sometimes, it's too big. ~Leena-Erufu, this is for you and your Squall pic! Everyone, please check whether the pics you want to submit are under that format. If so, mail them to me, ok? Or I won't be able to upload them! I'm currently working on an e-mail address for the club, please be patient.

b) Donating Art

Do you want to donate art to the club? Art donations will be displayed in the 'Featured Deviation' category, and I will activate the comments function. I will let you choose whether you want it to be exclusively at the club, or if you want to crosspost it at your own account as well. If you choose the latter, I will link back, but only to your account, not the deviation itself. Tell me if any of you is interested, yeah? If not, I'll remain the only one doing that ^_^

People:

I wanted to tell you something, just so you won't be wondering: the club will not devWatch anyone back or comment (only exception are deviations made for the club). But I do know each one of you, I will go to your pages to check on you often (whether it is to see if you follow the rules [LOL] or to see if you're doing well) and those who have subscriptions can see that I do visit my members... What I do is that when you submit a pic, I will comment on it in the "Artist's Comment's". I might also comment from time to time on your page/pics with my admin account ^_^

Hey ~sinthiavalesquez, I hope I didn't scare you too much? I apologize if I sounded... rude, because your note was very nice, it's just that you were at the wrong place (whaaa? the PBL club can't ever be a 'wrong place' lol) at the wrong moment.
