Finally! I’m back! I have moved far away from America to Abu Dhabi in the Middle East because of my fathers work. I could have stayed in the USA on my Wal-Mart salary, but I deiced to see this side of the world; to expand my horizons. After living in a hotel for 2 months and finally getting my computer working, I return to Deviant Art once again. The only problem I have now is finding a way for my favorite comic book shop to send me some comics (especially when BLACKEST NIGHT has started; I’ve waited two years for that!). Hopefully I can get some more art up, if I’m not to busy. Damn, it feels good to be back.

When you here someone say "That was the wireds book I've ever read." say to them, "You don't know Sh*t!" becuise I am reading the wirest book ever! I found "Mrs. God" by Peter Straub in my college's massive library and it's freaky. There were three factors that made me decide to read this: First, the title. Mrs. God? Who's that? God's secret house wife?! The second: the auother. Peter Straub did a collaboration with Stephen KIng: The Talisman. I was going to read that after The Dark Tower, but I piked up the Stand insted. So I'll read "Mrs. God" to get a fell of Mr.Straub writting style (and see if I difuse his from King when I do read the Talsmen). Thierd point: the frount cover and the illastrations found thoughout the book. Stuning. Beautiful and haunting paintings by Rick Berry. As for the polt....WEIRD. The book tales the tale (fiction, duh) of a Mr.Standish as he leaves his pregnat wife to travle to England to study his last grandmouthers poerty that was siad to inspier the great poet like T.S. Eliont and other "first Class " poets. Unforshedtly Mr.Standish is pleged by strange and wild dreams. Not only that, he begins to see things that aren't there or hears a lady laughing at him from dark empty couners. To show how wired these dreams are, I offer a segment from the book. I like this part becuise is semmed to...I don't...flow...as if I could see it happpenong. It from the fith chapter in which Standish is in the mist of a strange dream. To tottaly understand, you'll have to read it youself. This is just a taste,
From page 84 of "Mrs. God" by Peter Straub
"And then Standish understood that he had lost everything. His familiar life had vanished, he was to be beheaded in this ugly and callous country, and the baby gasping on the table was not his baby. Black steam, ink, poison, filled his veins. He groaned- mingled terror and despair gathered at the center of his chest. His entire body became as heavy as water, as lead. He groaned again, at the end of his life, and in terror and despair woke up in a sunny bedroom at Esswood."

Werid stuff.

Holy Crap! I have been busy as hell! On the 18th I stated college and so far its not to bad. Fun classes, 4 storie libary, good food in the cafiteria; really, the only proplem I have is that its a almost a hour drive on the freeway to get there (pain in the ass). But I'm not here to talk about life, I'm here to talk about a promlem I seem to have. If you've read my earlyer jorunal entries, then you can probly tell that I like comic books. Last summer I found a comic shop close to my house (ok its a 15 min. drive but its still close.)and I have been buying comics like crazy. So, one day, I'm reading FIANL CRISIS ish. #2 and who should retun afer being dead for 21 years but the 2nd Flash, the one the only: Barry Allen! Now, for some people, this is a good thing. It means there is a chance Barry will have his own coimc agein. However, to me, this is a bad thing. If Barry has retuned then that means one thing: the curent Flash, Wally West may die. After relizing this, I relized somethig else, MY FAVORITE CHARITERS ARE THE ONES WHO DIE. In comic books or in animes I always seem to like the one that dies half way though the story. Examples: Indigo of the Outsiders, the Martian Manhunter, Maes Hughes from Fullmetal Alchemsit, and Kamina from Gurren Lagann. I think Im cursed to like the ones who die. *sigh*

In case no one knows yet, comic book artist Michael Turner died June 27, 2008. He was my favorite comic artiest of all time. Heck, he was the guy that got me back into comic books. All I read for the pass 5 years was manga (I still do)untill I thumbed though the Superman/Batman: Supergirl comic and I was pulled right in. After that, I did some research on comics too see what I've missed (I know Wikipedia is'nt a great source of info, but it worked). So when I found out last week that he died of done cancer I was super depressed (it didn't help that the fact was it had been a week sence he died). The rest of the week was so depressing that I just got sick of it. Sure, I'll miss his incredible artwork, but whinning won't bring him back. I just relixed and went on with my life (in just a week!). All I can do is rember Michael Turners work as a souce of insperation.
