Okay, was that guy out of his mind? I'd love to push him down a flight of stairs. I'd rather never have loved at all than to feel what I felt the other day.

In case you haven't guessed yet, I was dumped. Yeah. It was harsh too. Okay, set scene.

Jigsaws Coffee Shop, approximately three or four pm. A friend of mine is taking me out for a cup of coffee and we're sitting outside in the smoking section. Just talking. The day's been pretty good so far, really.

And ACTION . . . .

Roy, my boyfriend, comes around the corner. I haven't seen him a little while because he's apparently been avoiding me. But I missed him. I'm happy to see him, so I call out, "Hey, Roy!"

He looks over and sees me, and walks over. Before I can even say how are you, he drops the bomb. IT went kind of like this.

"Hey, Roy! How--"

"Uroki, listen. I'm just not feeling it anymore. Sorry. I'll see you around."

Then he walks off down the street, leaving me with this big sharp spear right through my heart, in the middle of the Smoking Section at Jigsaws.

That was last thursday. Today is Tuesday, and I've been crying my eyes out all weekend. Now, keep in mind, I'm the tough one. I don't cry, I don't scream. I don't lose it. I generally don't even get too pissed.

But I'm losing it now. Ever been hit by a mallet? That's what it felt like. And I didn't see it coming. Not at all. I should have, now I look back I see all the signs. But then I didn't. So on top of feeling stabbed, I feel stupid.

And I'm left with all these questions.

Am I so boring that someone can just decide I'm not worth it just like that? Am I so easy to toss aside like last summers clothes? Am I just boring? Is there something wrong with me? Why? Why? Why?

To hell with it. To hell with Roy, Love, Dating, Men, Romance, and everything to do with it. I'm done, it's over. It's not worth the pain.

So, whoever said Tis Better to have loved and lost than to never love at all, FUCK YOU RIGHT TO HELL.

I wish I'd put more thought into Ghost's background and the way I developed her.

Jesse, because she's been in jail several times already. Detective sakuraba would do anything to put her behind bars for good.

Not so much a catch phrase as an oft repeated refrain, "You don't respect me." Would have to be it. His lover, his son, and his nieces and nephews often treat him like a stubborn child, despite the fact that he is nearly five millenia old, and, well, he acts like one sometimes.

Are you kidding me? They live in different WORLDS. It's better that way.

Not in my list, no. All counterparts to my characters are usually played by Pallas, or in Ghost's case, Beastfire.

Great merciful mother! At the end of the day I'd find myself in China! Liam has a wanderlust and no sense of direction. Please don't switch our bodies.

Tsukito? Has he ever even SEEN a shark? He lives in Domino, Japan, so I doubt it. But he might, if it was coming after Jesse, Geoff, or Jou.

But, I was accepted, likely because I really wanted to do it. And I walked away on jelly legs, even worse than when I went in. Because she complimented my work. This teacher does NOT, under any circumstances, EVER give unnecessary praise.

But still, scary. It still hasn't quite set in that it's over, that I made it. But I guess it probably won't until I walk in for orientation.

Also, I'll be the first in my family to go to college. Which will be kind of cool, since, with more siblings than I can count, it's difficult to be first in anything.

I could see mere blurs of color without definition, no viable shapes. Is that the road or the sidewalk? No lines of any sort could be made out. I fell more than once.

It was only a short distance, but it stretches on for miles for one who cannot see the end. I could not even see the beginning. Harsh colors burned into my eyes, but I had no idea what it was. Is that a walk signal?

The pain in my head echoed and drilled each time I barely avoided something. It slid down behind my eyes, taking away my ability to process and think logically.

Sound blurs into a cacophony of useless noises with a few sharp counternotes. The buzz of people talking, horns screaming, tires screeching, it all surrounds me and envelopes me, crushing me. I'm overcome by sheer helplessness, followed by absolute terror. I put my hands over my ears and screw my eyes shut, trying to drive it all away, just for a moment. A single moment of clarity.

A voice calls my name. A hand takes mine and I am saved. All I can make out is a dark blur in front of me as I am led to the destination I have been fighting to reach.

"Here you are." That voice tickles my ear and my rescuer disappears into the crowd, becoming yet another blur. How he knew where I was going, I do not know. I'll never find him again. Even if I did I wouldn't know it.

That, ladies and gentlemen, was my saturday. I have acute astigmatism. Yes, that's bad. Without my glasses, you may as well give me a white cane to tap my way along the street. I recieved my first pair of glasses at age two and a half, when my astigmatism was mild. The doctors said it would go away as I got older.

At twelve they realized this was untrue. My vision faded at an alarming rate; It was predicted that I would be blind by twenty. Again, the doctors were proved wrong, for here I am, twentyone, and still retaining the last few vestiges of vision.

I try not to think about the future, the time when my vision finally fades entirely. The things I will lose: My books, my computer, the faces of my family, the smiles of the small children left in my care, the ability to experience color and life, even in the limited way that I do now.

To never again see a flower blooming, or witness the orca leaping into the air, silhouetted against a fading sunset, as I was fortunate to see on Vancouver Island, or even just to watch life go by as I make my way along.

But our doom comes to us all in many ways. I was reminded, vividly and painfully of this on saturday, I had unfortunately allowed myself to forget. But I shall allow it again, and again, I will forget that my world can vanish in a moment and reduce me to darkness, and for now I will simply try to experience the sights I love as much as I can.

I just beat it today and I loved it. I rented it from Reo's Video and it's TWELVE DAYS OVERDUE, but I finally finished it. And I swear I'm Kururugi-chan's clone. The game was beautiful, about true friendship and being who you are. It also takes finding your roots to a whole new level. I learned a lot from this game and I recommend it to EVERYONE, Inuyasha fan or not. It's wonderful.

You probably missed it in the local news, but there was a report that someone in Pakistan had advertised in a newspaper an offer of a reward to anyone who killed a Canadian - any Canadian.

An Australian dentist wrote the following editorial to help define what a Canadian is, so they would know one when they found one.
