My mind has been racing on what I want to do, I got two new sketchbooks that I'm filling up.. It's gonna be a good summer! I look forward to showing you all what I've come up with.

I hope someone can nab a screenshot of my 10,000th pageview, because it'll really mean a lot to me to see that my artwork has been seen at least 10,000 times by strangers, loved ones, friends and possible opportunities.

I do plan on cleaning out a lot of experimental works from my gallery so I can keep it all to a trend. Sorry if I remove some of your favorites.. but that's all gonna happen in the future!

So I've decided that I can open up commissions for pencil drawings, watercolors or Photoshop paintings of creatures or characters you've designed, your favorite animals... really anything animalistic in nature. I can draw people, but they aren't my specialty... Browse through my Gallery as well, I have artwork in there I wouldn't mind selling.. I'd probably sell any of it actually.

Here's a simple price list of commissions I will do:

Commissions will be of any character or animal you choose in whatever pose you would like. If you have a different request, please contact me and say so and I'll see if I can do it or not. Here are your options for media and sizes:

$8-Simple Photoshop painting, sort of like a character sheet. (Colored)

$8-Shaded Pencil Sketch, no background on Standard 8.5x11 cardstock-ish stuff (whatever it is in my sketchbook, it's not copy paper!!

$15-Small Watercolor. Colored, mild background (Whatever size of paper I have... >.> I'd havta look, contact me for details)

If you'd like a bigger commission with acrylics or a large, ultra detailed, painstaking watercolor project from me, please contact me and we'll discuss it all.

Mood: Freedom food

As I left work today, getting into my car, I notice something along the horizon moving towards me. I pause a moment to try to decipher what the object is. Soon, a slouched over man in a power wheelchair roll up and stop at the stop sign. Behind him about 1/4 of a mile away is an assisted living center. I'm almost certain he has escaped. I continue getting in my car and I begin to drive off, glancing in my rear view mirror at him.

At the moment I'm thinking, way to go... gain your limited freedom, someone will be after you soon, so ride on little man! But when I can no longer see him those girly instincts kick in. I can't leave this helpless guy out in the mildly cold weather when the sun will go down in a few hours. So I turn around.

I pass him, he's not old... just very very very handicapped. All his facial muscles were shot, he looked like a bulldog on a bad day. He leaned permanently to his left and he gave me the most horrified look. I dunno if he looks at everyone that way, but it was obvious his mind was pretty much non-existent.

I pull up to the home and hop out, as I reach the door two young ladies are rushing out and as they are, they ask if there is anything they can help me with. I point down the road and mention the guy. They kind of laugh and say that they already know and he's just the adventurous type. They thank me and zoom off in a car to go get him.

I drive away too, feeling good all over. This guy gained his 10 minutes of freedom, saw the sun, breathed the fresh air and he probably knew it wouldn't last. I felt good for not abandoning him, even if help was already on the way. I would have felt awful the rest of the day if I had not known he was going to be ok.

This has just made me think, I don't want to ever become so disabled that I can't take care of myself, do what I want when I want and by god, go to the bathroom in a toilet and not my pants! This also reminds me of the coolest little old lady ever... I don't know her name but she was like 90, short, skinny and wrinkled enough to give Covergirl a hernia. But she was sharp as a tack, very smart; she could still hear, see and drive... I just liked her. I wanna be like her; able-bodied and wise.

1. I really like oatmeal... dump in two packages of the apple cinnamon instant oatmeal, pour in a little bit of boiling water and make it juuuust gooey and sticky enough to be the consistancy of ground beef (horrible reference) and then smoosh it all into a corner and pour milk in! It's a wonderful blend of hot and cold that is soooo good to me...

2. I love my family more than anything in the whole world.

Mood: Getting hot in here

Hey everyone!

I've got my apartment, electricity and water turned on, ready to live in. I started painting my extremely deep pink bedroom yesterday. My sister and I started with some Kilz because I kind of wanted to paint my room a nice pale yellow... anything to brighten it up because it's in a basement with no windows. Well, one of these walls is sooooooo textured, it's not even funny! I had to go back home to get a roller used for painting popcorn ceilings. I'm going to finish the primer today, maybe pick my color today too.

In other news, I finally photographed all my watercolors from the semester. I plan on posting them when I slap a few watermarks on. I'll either post one a day or barf them all up on my page in an hour. Whichever I'm in the mood for.

Other, other news: I'm totally addicted to World of Warcraft... damned pretty online games! It's good to keep me occupied during the winter break I suppose. I mean, I could always sketch, draw, paint, whatever... but uh, I'm going to play games... and I'll read when I'm at work... maybe sketch some... but I've got so much reading I want to catch up on.

Alright, you all be cool... happy hollidays and such, whatever religion you are, just have a good time... and watch out for crazy last minute shopping!!! You can't even buy a single tampon at Wal-Mart without waiting in line for an hour!!!

Mood: F*ck..

+ Well, I didn't think I could shove any more stress, pain and shit into my life at the moment, but I guess it happened. So, let's start somewhere in the middle of my day...

At lunch I head over to my apartment to see if the power got turned on. I open the door and every fan, light and appliance was running. I guess they did turn it on. So, that means it's time to hunt down Chantz and commandeer his truck so I can haul over my vacuum cleaner and a bunch of other supplies that won't fit into my trunk.

I grab the truck and head home to grab a few things. While at home and right before I leave, I open the door and in runs Cricket. I step outside and see that she's left a half dead mouse on the doormat... Well, I can't let an animal suffer. So Kelanie and I scoop up the poor little mouse in shock, try to feed him some peanut butter and cheese, and just watch over him.

Kelanie couldn't decide if she wanted to keep "Half dead Henry" or not, so I said I was going to let her think about it while I went to my apartment to clean.

After I vacuum my living room, I realized I forgot to dust the fan blades. So I whip out my handy dandy duster that looks like a poodle on a stick, and go at it. Suddenly my apartment turns into a blizzard of dust as I notice more and more things that probably have never been dusted... ever...

I finally get all the dust off the tops of things and onto the counters and floors. I continue to work my way down the levels of my apartment and step back satisfied. Everything is relatively clean... enough... I did promise Karen (the previous owner) that I'd call her when I started to clean... well, I didn't forget, I just opted to do a lot of it myself. I will call her because she wants to clean under the stove and washer.

I head back home to check on Kelanie and Henry. She decided to keep him and I went to went to Wal-Mart to grab a little cage and some food. I also grabbed about $36 worth of other cleaning supplies... they should last me a while!

I dumped $10 of gas into Chantz's truck, dumped my supplies off at home, returned the truck, took back my car, drove home and helped Kelanie with her mouse.

We were just stepping outside to dump a few pine shavings into her mouse cage, when I look over and Kelanie's cat, Chaos, is lying on the ground. I said, "Hey, Chaos is out here," when I realize that Chaos wasn't asleep on the ground...

Kelanie pokes her head out and makes a little kissy sound at her so she'll wake up... I sort of push her back inside and stare at Chaos for a while to check if she's breathing. She didn't move her ears, twitch her whiskers or make a move at all. I said, "I think she's... dead." Kelanie freaked out and said, "What? Don't tell me that!" "I'm pretty sure she's dead... she's not breathing..." I stepped back inside and closed the door.

I look over at Kelanie, my hand over my mouth sort of in shock and see her face turning red. I walk over to her and put my arms around her and she cries into my shoulder. I'm not going to deny it, I cried too. Not nearly as loud or as long... but I hate seeing my sister cry, and I do miss Chaos.

I then try to call any male to come help me bury the cat before anything happens to it. I cannot contact ANYONE. Everyone seems to be busy or away from their phones. Mood: Freezing

Well, boys and girls... the time has come. I am packing my things and moving into an apartment. I picked an awful time of year though... I can't really afford much now that I'll be on my own, and what worries me is the winter. I will probably heat my apartment as little as possible to save money so I can spend it on food... which I need that layer of fat if I'm going to survive, right?? Well, I'm excited about moving out. I'm just a little scared about the whole survival thing. I'll be on my own with only my cat to keep me warm. I think she'll do a good job with the fur and higher body temperature thing. But alas, it will hinder my online activity and up art production I think. Mostly because I can't afford the electricity to keep my wonderful little iMac running non stop, but I can afford to waste hundreds of pages in my sketch book... since I've alread bought about 50 of them within the last few months... I'm a sketch book horder...

Anywho, I'm excited... I'm scared... and I think I might lose weight.. There isn't much to lose, but a diet of rice and beans and raisen bran might just take off a few pounds... and when people start to see my ribs though my clothes, they will feed me! muahaha... Starving artist title here I come!

Mood: why...

I may be getting this all wrong, but I totally do not understand the appeal of alcohol. I've had a few drinks before, have too little you get tired, have just enough to get dizzy, have too much you puke your brains out... What's so great about it? Is everyone so bored and miserable that they must induce pleasure and happiness by saturating their system with toxins to get a high that they may not remember the next day and regret actions the do later? I just don't get it and I honestly don't want to. When I hang around people who get drunk, they slur their speech, they stumble, they spill stuff.. it's very unattractive. I usually just leave when people start drinking because it always gets so ridiculous and seems unessesary. We could be having a perfectly good conversation with everyone, then someone's like "I want a beer!" Then everyone gets beer and it just ruins a perfectly good logical, reasonable conversation where I end up going home. I mean, come on! Does alcohol control your weekends so much? I hate weekends. I dread them because my friends go and get wasted. They're much more interesting and fun to me sober... I guess I'm just not the drinking type... sorry I kinda vented... blame hormones!! I just kind of wanted to have fun this weekend for once... I need new friends..

Well, I must say.... I'm happy. My dad chipped in an helped me get a new 20 inch iMac with added RAM. It.....is.....so.....COOL! I got it this morning at 8, right when I left for class. I suffered though all my classes and ran home and downloaded gobs or stuff to put on this 250 gb HD. Now I'm in the process of importing every cd I own onto it. But, yeah, this rocks... I recommend! Ok, so I work at an Air and Space Museum founded by Thomas P. Stafford (former astronaut) And we get a lot of crazy mail from people wanting autographs and free stuff. But I'd have to say my favorite letter is this one: (please note that I typed it up EXACTLY the way this man wrote in his letter, all errors are his)

Dear General Stafford,
I’ve suffered from anxiety and depression for around 25 years or so; yet find that receiving Astronaut autographs never fails to alleviate my symptoms.

With this in mind, I wondered if you could be so kind as to autograph the enclosed copy of “we have Capture” for me? If at all possible, I would like it autographing like this:--- “To Andy Whitlam, Aim High!, signature”.

I really do hope that you’ll be able to honour my request. It would make me really happy!

I’m very short of Gemini memorabilia, so I wondered if you would be able to send me signed photographs of Gemini 6 and Gemini 9; Also Apollo 10 (I already have a signed photo from ASTP)

On the Wednesday before Xmas day I did a very foolish thing. I took 28 Prozac Capsules, 25 Procycladine tablets and then wired myself up to the electricity supply.

All that I achieved was to “trip” every circuit-breaker in my apartment and develop a very bad case of the “farts” due to the drugs.

However, please don’t worry too much about me as I have an excellent Medical Team caring for me. I even have a 24-hour “Hot-line” number to telephone if I get suicidal again.

So, summer is gone and school starts Wednesday for me. I'm excited, I'm ready for everyone around me to stop their end of summer partying, I'm ready to stop being bored, and I'm ready to have an excuse to sit at the coffee shop and read (homework).

Mostly I'm sick of the partys... my friends are all drinking and smoking (which I refuse to do) so I don't hang around them anymore. I hope they stop when school starts, but then during the week they'll be busy with homework and then party again on the weekends... I think I need new friends. No one wants to hang out with me tho, I'm just the crazy little art student who carries around sketchbooks and 50 different pencils, sits in a corner and doodles all day. I seem to be a loner by nature but I'm bad at it because I want some human contact... bah!

Mood: what the...

Well, if anyone's been watching me at all, I've been doing lots of cute little things on wallpapers. I've discovered the trick to getting pageviews!! Make really cute wallpapers... I've been enjoying it because I can pop one out in about and hour or two, and in 24 hours it'll have over 100 views on it. I guess people look though those wallpapers a lot! I can't complain... I'm glad people like them! Everyone needs to see something just so damn cute at least once in a while!!

On another note, school starts wednesday!! I'm sooo ready for it... I'm sick of working 8 hour days on minimum wage. Now I can work half time and not be bored out of my mind. There will be homework for me to do, classes to attend and artwork to do! Only a few more days... The only regret I have is buying books because I'm poor!

I want a guitar.

Mood: Yay for inspiration!

Well, I finally got some inspiration to make some more traditional art. It's going to be mixed digital and traditional, like my cowgirl picture This is a Flash MX drawing I did with a Wacom Tablet, I printed it off on a lazerjet (must use lazerjet!) and used gum arabic, water and very soupy litho ink to turn my copy of art into an inked up plate. I ran it though the press and viola!

What I'm wanting to do is the exact same thing, only do minimalistic work using my flash drawings, paper lithography and a small mix of chin colle'

I'm first going to turn into a test print and we'll see how it goes from there!

Any suggestions from printmakers, digital artists and minimalists would be appreciated!!

Ok, so loads of people have quit DA, written long journals and changed their avatars to yellow aliens because of °jark. Well that's all fine and good and everything... I really don't know what's going on with everything. I'm sure °jark is a great guy and everything, but why abandon or withdraw your galleries over this? Nothing super serious has happened yet. If the whole DA community collapses and everything goes terribly wrong, then ya, ok, quit, I will too, but I really only see DA as a place to post my artwork, make friends, vent stuff in my journal and check out all the great art out there! If I'm totally wrong about everything, someone please tell me! I havn't read all those °jark journals, I wasn't near the internet on the 7th when no one posted artwork and I havn't really seen what I can do to save DA from becomming a corporation. HI! I'm back! I forgot to pack my camera... so no pics... sorry... Anywho, I went and saw Tamrind Institute... BUST! They wanted to give me a tour on what printmaking was... but why the heck would I look at the place if I didn't know what printmaking was. So I got up and left that early. I saw my cousin Gary, he's a sweet guy! He took me out to eat and left me crash on his couch. I saw my mom and baby sister as well. That was nice! My mom took me shopping and sightseeing. We also took my ex-bf to see his future college, UAT. It was really cool! The trip home was scary, we drove all though the night and when I was about 30 miles from home, there was lots of roadkill and even live deer on the side of the road... scary!! I could have hit one!!

Now I'm back and rested and feel much better. Except for my car insurance bill!! I've started paying for everything on my car, and it's a killer! Oh well... :sews the hole closed in her wallet: I'm glad to be back and I missed everyone! Hope you all didn't have too much fun without me.

I'm going to miss you all so much!! I'm off to Arizona in the morning and I thought I'd put up a journal entry before I left. I'll be going from Oklahoma to Arizona! I'm stopping in Albuquerque, New Mexico to see my cousin and Tamarind Institute (printmaking school) Then the next day I'm finishing the drive to Flagstaff. I'll also be stopping in Phoenix with my ex-boyfriend to see a college for him. Then I'll probably stay at my mom's for a day or two, do some hiking, sight seeing and hit a few galleries. I'm going to get to see my baby sister too, she's very excited about it! But so am I... Well, I hope to get back home soon, I have an interview to go to when I get back!! Mood: Love for contestants

For those of you who don't know me, I try to be a very charitable person. For now I've been focusing on my county's humane society. They don't have a building or any facility to house and take care of rescued cats and dogs until they can be adopted. Well being the softy I am, I've been helping them come up with ideas to help raise the money to build a facility. I want to take some rescued dogs to the local Petsmarts and have them wear vests with pockets that people can put money in.

~~~Contest Rules!!!~~~

Create an adorable cat or dog (or both) that would be a good logo for the humane society. It can be cartoonish, silhouette, serious or whatever you can think of. It will be displayed on the posters and possibly become our new logo, with your permission of course.
Please have fun with this and really there are no limits, if you feel like creating a full poster, go right ahead. I encourage you to have children you know make drawings of animals.
Any medium will be great! Digital or Traditional.
There is no limit to entries, I encourage more than one, though one is just fine.

Just send me a note with a link to your art.

First off, for every person who enters something I will personally donate a dollar. So everyone wins!

For the winner I will do one of the following:
Buy you your favorite print from DA (4x6 or 8x10, I'm not that rich!)

Then my sister is going to Arizona, leaving me in charge of her cat and 5 kittens, (total of 6) while I am house sitting... I have no idea what I'm gonna do there...

Then comes good Ole June... I'm counceling for a summer camp on campus. This camp is for math and science... wish me luck! Art would be more appropriate, tho I am gonna help an art camp for children also, dunno when.

Then in July, there are the birthdays! Starting with the 5th is my aunt, 13th my little sister, 17th my brother, 26th my big sister, 28th me, 31st my boyfriend and there are a few others that I forgot... Also in July the museum I work at is having a huge dedication to our new building and a bunch of famous astronauts will be there. I'm excited, but air and space crap isn't my cup of tea.

August I head to Arizona with my boyfriend to check out Tamarind Institute and some college in Phoenix. That shouldn't be too bad... Then the Fall semester starts!

Just a summery of my life for the next 3 months.

Mood: stressed

Finals are coming up soon and I am about as unprepared for them as I can get. I have a research paper due on monday which I just started on, two tests to take that will determine my grades in the classes, and many many many art projects to do. I might be able to slide on the projects, I have been experiementing with other techniques and all, so they might let me turn those in for extra credit... who knows. But I have just lost all energy. I sleep in everyday now just so I can get a little more shut-eye before I have to fly out of bed, roll around in a pile of clothes until something slides on and rush off to class. So I'm just a little panicky, at least I get the weekend off from work to relax maybe a little.

I also just wanted to say a big warm happy thanks to all my watchers! Especially Ironflag who visits almost everyday, sorry I havn't put up any new art, it's all in my teacher's hands waiting to be graded! I promise more will come soon.

I just got back from the arts fest and I'm so worn out! I couldn't find anyone to go with me so I went alone. I wandered around, looked at stuff, saw lithography demos and went home. All in all it was ok, it would have been nice to have someone with me, but eh... it happens. I didn't buy anything because I'm poor at the moment. gas prices have beaten me down! but on my way home with my gas light blaring at me, I found gas that was under $2!... it was $1.99. Saved about 10 cents. Edgar Cruse was doing a mini concert on stage, so that was cool. I saw the Blazer's coach. hmm... ok I'm outta stuff to say. G'day!

Well for the past month I've been worried sick about a possible cancer situation on my leg. I had a biopsy and everything! But the good news (which I just found out) if that I'm cancer free for now and I hope to live a lot longer. Just felt like getting that off my chest.
