because of these intense last months, i slowed completely my photographic activity. i've been uploading my last film, from back in april, but i've got a new one, which i shot when i was in scotland last august. soon i'll begin uploading it.

i had another film ready to shoot, since i was planning on going to vienna this month, but the airline company just declared bankruptcy, so my friends and i just ended up staying at home for the time being. i guess the film will have to wait...

so i hope i will be coming here more often, now that i will have the time! (:

As the first faculty week kicks off, with a lot of work on the horizon, i still have a few news...

I've got two new analog machines at home, ready to be tried out! and they were completely free, since they were in the family... My grandfather's old Olympus Trip35 is just gorgeous! He bought it one time he went to Japan, brand new, many years ago. So, it's one of the originals, made entirelly in Japan, a really old version. It was in a really bad shape, but I sent it out to clean and refurbishbent, and now works totally fine! I've got a black and white film in it, so let's see how it goes... I also refurbished my mum's old Pentax K1000, though it was almost fine. So, new additions to my Praktica works, soon enough!

I also re-organized my deviations folders, since I guess to order them only by film wasn't really useful. Now it's easy for someone to look out for something in the theme they're interested! Just let me know if you think something is out of context, or just opinions if you like... :megaphone:

oh, well... it's inevitable. the beggining of working time means summer is officially over. who knows, maybe this was the last big summer of my life... :-o

i won't think about that.
but the good news are that i just finished a film. some fancy film my sister gave me for christmas. so it will take long to develop. but i have time. i'm really looking forward to see the result, though.

before that i still have another film to upload. just a few pictures, since i shared it with my sister.

yes, i'm beggining to feel a little bit impatient... i know i'll miss everything i'm living right now, but i can't help wanting to go back.

and all my deviations are the visual memories of this time, of my new life, which will end soon and be looked at as the "other life". i'm in a crossroad of feelings! a mix of wanting the time to go faster, and on the other hand, to go slower... so many things i still want to do, and certainly so many i will never accomplish...

but i guess i will return changed. i went through things i had never done, and i had never imagined i'd do. no way anyone can tell me it was a bad thing to do, or that i could have done it better. it was what it had to be. and i'm no fatalistic guy! but i'm already getting nostalgic...

...


anyway, as the semester is finally coming to an end, so are lectures, and the exams and final deliveries are ahead. again, that "wonderful" time of retirement, away from people, parties and social life...

the next two films i'm uploading are work related (once more, undoubtly an eventuality of the present days). the ones taken at vykmanov are from the site from my semester's design studio project. an old uranium mining facility, going back to the communist era, where political prisoners were sent, and where many of them eventually died due to the uranium exposition. now they want it to become a museum, with some other facilities around, and i can tell you it's interesting...

the second film (technically, on my gallery, FILM 9), is almost about Letna, this huge park north of Prague, which is the stage for my Photography subject, in cooperation with an urbanistic studio from my faculty.

and so, all this will eventually end. and i'm preparing myself for it. i'm just not sure if i'm ready...

At the end of this month i'm going to Dubai! yey! still not sure if to take a color or b&w film...

My photography subject project is finally decided. In cooperation with an architecture atelier from my faculty, we are suppose to look at this big park that exists in the center of Prague, not only in an urbanistic way, but also concerning its uses and relation with the city. To look for elements that will endure throughout many generations to come, that are not volatile or temporary...

Anyway, with the weather now being just fine for outside walking, the park is full of people, much different from the use that is given in my home town, lisbon. I find myself taking a whole film of pictures each time I go there! I will upload some later (it's the 9th film, and i'm just uploading the 6th).

Work is finnally beggining to emerge as something we should put ahead of our list of things to do... Still, there's also a lot of free time... Perfect for photography! :)

Finally I managed to come to my faculty's foto atelier to scan my films! I will continue to post the pictures I take with my Praktica VLC3. :camera: And I have color photographs also!

All of my pictures are posted straight out of the scan table, except for some minor levels adjustments (sometimes not even that).

my first try outs for my photography course are on display. unfortunately i don't have many scanned. maybe i can find a way of doing it...

fortunately i cannot see the end of this adventure. but i know it won't last forever. anyway, i am happy i had the possibility to extend my stay. i am sure i will enjoy it as much as until now.
