In other news, I filled my schedule with (gasp) TWO art classes this semester! This means little to you, as I never post classwork here because it won't fit in my scanner and I abhor having to take photos of sub-par paintings anyways... but MAYBE I'll get over it and post something besides meaningless sketches in the future.

Always me with the false hope.. anyways, my last journal was dated and I wanted it gone and so now that THAT mission is accomplished, I bid you farewell! ANYWAYS. My luck with computers prevails. The CD/DVD rom drive in my beast died not long after I got it. So I can't install my tablet or PS (which I suppose doesn't really matter because I still don't even have a copy of it yet.) I didn't have the time before, but now I get to rip the thing out, send it to the manufacturer, and wait 8 months for them to send me a new one. OH JOY.

I have the inspiration for arts- just not the means. :[ Maybe I'll do another sketch dump. It's just a pain in the ass because all I have to set one up is MS paint. And you can't spell "paint" without "pain."

OH YEAH. If I owe you something (i.e. a trade I never completed) MESSAGE ME!! The very LEAST I can do is pencil it up for you and promise to add color as soon as I can.

So um, apparently art use has suddenly become an issue. Quite suddenly actually. As in, the last two weeks or so I've gotten nearly a dozen requests to use my art... none of them from native English speakers, oddly enough, which makes explaining any sort of "policy" tough. But- I guess I need one now. So here it is:

-DO NOT USE MY ART WITHOUT ASKING FIRST, MMKAY??

-Yes, you may use my art in... whatever you people are doing with it. I can't read a word on those webpages, let alone understand what the shiznit is going on on them.

-But please, do NOT use my whole gallery. Just, no. Don't. ONE or TWO images max, please. Any more that that is just ridiculous anyways. I'm not that great.

-GIVE PROPER CREDIT. Do I even need to say this? Yes. Luckily that hasn't been a problem yet, but you never know. (As we have already noted, I haven't the foggiest idea of what's being said on those webpages....)

-Any image that has been produced for SOMEONE ELSE (i.e. trades, gifts, fanart, and most importantly COMMISSIONS) is not not NOT to be used. Hear me? Those images are NOT MINE ALONE. I gave at least half the rights to someone else- so get their permission if you want to use them.

Fuck I Never Actually Learned Shit season has arrived. Unfortunately, that coincides Christmas- which, as anyone who has ever worked in retail during the season knows, is the closest thing to HELL ON EARTH you will ever experience. At least my next few paychecks should be able to cover the week I'm taking off to recover at home.

In the news you guys actually care about- I got commissioned! It's only a small one though, and the commissioner has never commissioned anything before, so it's really tough figuring out what she wants. She did the whole- Oh, draw something PRETTY!! 8D ... And I did the- T_T. But whatever. It's a me drawing a horse for money. Can't complain about that.

In other news, one of my longtime friends is having her first baby this Halloween (they're inducing her Friday morning cause the little booger is overdue.) I'm so excited for her! She lives pretty far away, but I'm gonna try to save up to visit, hopefully before Sailer (cute name, ne?) grows up. I'm gonna buy her a stuffed pony. My goal is to have her asking for a real pony by her second Christmas.

8 odd/different/previously unknown? things about me. (I think. I didn't really get any instructions, so I'm improvising. lol)

1. I bike 1.7 miles to campus and back every day and my butt is killing me from that stupid bike seat.
2. I consider oil paint my mortal enemy, but my painting class this semester deals only in oils. Oh boy.
3. I went skydiving earlier this August, and I LOVED IT! By far the coolest thing I've ever done.
4. I'm a WoWtard. Hardcore. Yes, girls DO play online games- and yes, we CAN kick your ass. >:]
5. I've never owned a horse in my life, nor have I lived close to any or rode them for any continuous length of time. I just like them a lot and now I'm majoring in equine science.
6. I have an irrational hatred for pigs. They are NOT cute, they are NOT smart, and I don't care what you say, the only good pig is one cut up, fried, and served with eggs.
7. I hate seafood. All of it. Except canned tuna because I didn't figure out it was fish until I was 12 and had already decided I liked it.
8. I have three fish right now named Jack Daniels (JD) Jose Cuervo (JC) and Jim Beam (JB).

So my battle with Mono is coming to a close. However, the war with Epstein-Barr virus (the one that causes the Mono) is far from over. Basically, Mono is only the manifestation of symptoms caused by the virus. So even though the Mono fades, I still have the virus and will continue to fight it for the next several months. The good news is I don't feel like crap anymore, and haven't needed to take any painkillers in almost a week. The bad news is I'll still feel really tired and weak for a few months, and if I don't take it easy, the Mono could come back full-force. But eh, I'll take the good with the bad. At least I don't want to jump off the roof of my house anymore.

On a more dA-related note: I've been horrible about updating, I know. The last couple of months have been pretty uneventful for you faithful watchers. I'm sorry to be so disappointing. First art classes completely wiped me out, then Mono took control (and I still haven't really recovered from the art classes. Just looking at my sketchbook makes me sick to my stomach.) But I went to my friend's dressage lesson and visited with her horsies yesterday, and started to feel the old need-to-draw ponies itch again. I even sketched a little on my whiteboard (which is actually my main sketchbook- and the reason why I never upload sketches. They all get erased immediately!) yesterday. I think I'm finally getting my inspiration back! If that's the case I might have something to upload soon! but don't get yer hopes up, just in case my summer jobs get in the way.

So yeah, I'm alive. Just not very lively.

Random factoid: June may be the month of my birthday, but something terrible never fails to happen during these 30 fateful days. The last few years have been plagued with deaths and horrible injuries. For example, today is the two-year anniversary or the death of my first kitty, Psycho. Let's hope nothing like that happens this year. I don't think I can take any more bad stuff right now. :[

I'm home now. After one of the worst few days I have ever had to endure. I got myself home at 11pm on Thursday, and was promptly rushed to the ER on Friday morning. Apparently the ill health I've been experiencing over the last week and a half is due to Mononucleosis. For all of you who don't know, Mono is a highly contagious viral infection which causes flu-like symptoms, aches, extreme fatigue, and in some cases an enlarged spleen. It is viral, so it can not be treated with medication. All you can do for it is take painkillers to make life bearable. The best part: it often lasts 6+ weeks. Yet it's rarely fatal, and once you get it you're asymptomatic for the rest of your life.

So no worries. I'll just be extremely tired and feel like shit all summer.

Oh God. That was the LONGEST week of my life. Well, not really... but close. I'm not going to go into it, but both my final projects for my art classes almost killed me. I was panicked and busy straight up 'til 3pm on Friday and spent the whole weekend recovering from the week from Hell. So I'm done with all my classes at last, but now other aspects of my life are threatening to kill me, so I've been feeling pretty miserable lately. I won't bore you with those details either though.

Anyways, Psycho Pony won the poll! He's very honored to be a majority of you guys' favorite equine of mine. I already started the ref of him, and hopefully I'll have enough time to finish it before I move back home on Wednesday, cause Lord knows I won't get anything done after that.

No, not the box, the online radio station. Pandora.com Has anyone else used it? I'm obsessed with it now! It's pretty freaking amazing. You just start a station (of your OWN) and pick a band or song to start out with. Then the player plays songs similar to that group/genre style for you to listen to. You either thumbs-up or thumbs-down the song depending on weather or not you like it, and the player stores that information and revises it's selections. It's great quality music, and (as far as I can tell) and infinitely large selection. And it's scarily accurate! This thing knows me better than I know myself! The first dozen or songs it generated were actually some of my favorites from my own WMP playlists.

Of course it does have its quirks- like if you thumbs-up too many of one type of song, it'll get into like a 12-song kick of similar songs until you start vetoing some. And because of their music license (yes, the whole thing is FREE and LEGAL ) you can't fast forward through too many songs in a hour. (But you can cheat and make a new playlist to listen to while the other one cols down. )

But yeah, that's my shameless plug for the day. I have to kill a few minutes because I got up EARLY for once, so I decided to inform you all of that little discovery. IN OTHER NEWS: My art classes are sapping all my creative energy again. I get home and stare blankly at the screen or my sketchbook and my hands start to cry. I got my schedule for next semester though, and I'm only taking one art class. NEVER AGAIN will I try to take two consecutive ones. NEVER. I did however, decide to take two consecutive lecture/labs for my equine science major. And one of them- get this- is Weanling and Yearling Handling and Management. OMG BABY HORSES!! Half my week will be spent at the farm studying horses all day. I have but one thing to say about that. Best. Major. EVER.

Oook. So I'm back at college and all is well again. The drama and craziness from home has dissipated. Thank. God. Yeah, just had to get that old rant off my page...


I was gonna upload a picture for y'all last night... but Photoshop decided to change some obscure setting, somehow making it impossible for me to save whatever I make in a web-friendly format now. Whatever... it'll fix itself eventually like it always does.


It's springtime!! The weather was gorgeous today- if I didn't have a project due tomorrow, I SO would've spent the afternoon lying in the grass outside the dorm. Mmm, sunshine. It even stinks like spring! The orange tree in my window is blooming and it smells deeeee-licious.

Everyone is crazy. I come home- and all the people I know have gone nuts. I swear. Only my best friend makes any sense anymore (thank God, I think I'd lose it if it weren't for her.) Everyone else just makes me want to scream.

And my family got me sick again.

But yeah, I'm a little rattled. The past few weeks were pretty dramatic (I'm not even going to go into that all here) but it all seems to have come together in one big neurotic psychofest this week. Don't you just love it when people you've known for 7 years suddenly lose their minds and turn into complete strangers?

All I want to do now is retreat back to the relative "safety" of college, oddly enough. I thought it was stressful there- but my friends, once again, have proven themselves to be the most intensely frustrating and confusing group of people I've ever heard of. I want to kick them all in the shins and inform them that they are nucking futs. Because I really don't think they've noticed yet.

Sadly, I do not have the heart to do that- I still love them all so much- so I decided to let a little of the pain out here. I just needed to rant at something before I descended into insanity and started throwing everything within reach out the window and screaming until my throat bled...

YAAAY! It's finally here! The Week from Hell is over and I'ma goin' HOME!

Can you tell I'm excited? I really shouldn't be... I mean, it's 70 degrees here and only 40 back home. I'ma freeze my butt off. But I get to see my best friend again and SLEEP! And OK, it wasn't the week from hell, only part of it was. The other part was amazing- part of the reason I'm so cheerful now...

No, not really. E is for empty. As in: my creativity stores these days are running on Empty. I guess that's just what having nearly 20 hours of art classes a week will do to you. Seriously- my hands are in a constant state of being-covered-in-charcoal-ness (I can't even imagine what I'll look like when we get to use color... O_O) and I've inhaled enough matte fixative in the last few weeks to get me higher than Britney Spears. So needless to say I've been kind of unenthusiastic about drawing for myself lately...

Yet I've been going through my inbox and lately have been seeing some absolutely amazing pieces from some of the wonderful people I watch. They've inspired me to try and get a little bit of personal work done again and maybe even finish those last few giftarts that have been sitting unfinished in PS for... oh... 7 MONTHS. SO I'll try to get something up for you guys soon, I swear!! I really want to do it now- but I have to go to those oh-so-wonderful art classes in 15 minutes. (If you're really unlucky I'll just upload a photo of one or two of the still lifes they made me do. )

I revived Psy's loving tribute to Painfully Single Awareness Day, as you can see from my featured deviation of the day. He's just so holiday spirited!!

Anyone have any special plans for today? My cousin asked me that earlier and my reply was something like, "Well, first I'm going to cram for my big animal anatomy exam in about an hour, then possibly award myself a "well, at least you tried" nap after that. My date for the night will be the washing machine, as I have a TON of laundry to do before heading down to the valley this weekend for a funeral."

Yes. My social life is just blur of activity.

I fixed my tablet! Basically all I needed to do was swear at it a lot and it works again! (And well, go through my computer and dig up drivers and files and downloads and update shiz... but yeah, swearing helped. ) I'll be back at those giftarts soon! On another note- ARGH! Art classes! They suck! SO BORING! We are doing still lifes and lines and non-objective stuff. BLEH! I have like, four projects due a week plus all the stuff for my equine science classes and art history. Death! Death to my social life!

My tablet's broke again! For some reason the pressure function isn't working so all I can make are fat, ugly, turd-bullet shaped lines. My streak of horrible luck with technology continues... and just when I get the rest of my computer fully functional and have the motivation to get something DONE for once. I'm surprised I haven't just given up and become Amish already.

Other than that- classes started yesterday- what a joy! I can already sense that I will often confuse the projects between my two back-to-back art classes and end up with some very interesting results in both. And somehow, the animal anatomy teacher managed to put me to sleep already- which is no big feat, lots of people do it- but the amazing part was just before class I had chugged a LOT of coffee and was wide awake. Afterwords, all I could do was trudge back to my room sleep for three hours.

This is going to be a loooooooong semester.

Does the word "again" look funny to anyone else? I know I spelled it right, but can't help feeling that it's just... wrong...

Anyways, I'm back from a week-long vacation in Florida. My family and I went down to the Jupiter Island area (near Palm Beach) to visit an aunt and uncle for New Years. It was a lot of fun- much warmer there than here, especially the first few days. It got kind of cold after that, but we had traveled down to Key West by that point so it was still warmer than it would've been anywhere else in the country. (No joke- the night we were there, Key West was the single warmest point in the entire country. ) The warmth and humidity chased away the last of my cold and my melancholy mood (I honestly blame cold weather for putting me in a bad mood. I'm never cheerful once the temperature drops past 60 for very long.) so I'll finally be replying to some of those dozens of messages sulking in my inbox. There's only, oh... over 50 or so (not including devWatch.)

Eh, maybe later. I'm going to sleep.

I read everyone's comments and I really appreciate all your well-wishes! Unfortunately, I got over the last illness and relapsed with something worse a day later. Now not only does my throat hurt, but I can't breathe, or stop coughing and sneezing. And everything aches. Curses.

I got my computer back this week- which was surprisingly early. Finally some good luck for me? Not quite. They fixed the CD drive, but somehow managed to destroy my computer's ability to emit sound. I should've known. The CD drive repair was free (because it was a manufacturer error), but they won't even fix their OWN MISTAKE for less than $100. And there is NO WAY I'm leaving my computer with those insolent b-tards again. I'm afraid it'd come back without a screen or something next.

The saddest part- I got brand new Bose speakers for it for Christmas.

So yeah, even though I love comments- my heart isn't quite in to answering them right now. Even though I didn't reply to any of them, I read them all and I thank you. You all have cheered me up considerably!! I hope your Christmas-time holidays go well, and I'll see you in the new year.

Literally. I caught the flu or something while visiting family on my way home from college. First time I've been sick all year... and it SUCKS.

I sent my computer off Saturday- and should get it back just in time from me to leave for college again. My mom and dad use this comp for work, and my brother is on it whenever they're not, so I won't be getting much air time this break. So much for getting some art done during the lull. At least I have my brother's Playstation to amuse me. He has Guitar Hero I and II and I've been killing time perfecting my skillz. (I can complete all the songs on "medium" now- woo!)

So I pretty much NAILED my Art History final this morning, I'm sure. Also, I got my final paper back today (the one that was 7 pages on an obscure work of art from a local museum with at least 5 sources done in Chicago-style citation with tiny tiny font that I started at 8pm the night before and finished at 5am the day it was due at 8am) and I only missed TWO points out of 125. Basically, I'm The Shit. Only one final left to go!!

Anyways, the real point of this journal was to let you know that I'm not going to have my computer for the next few weeks. It's been broken for a while, but I've needed it for school so I just had to live with it. Now that finals are over and I won't need it for a month (you know, except to keep me SANE at home...) I'm sending the thing back to HP. Hopefully it'll come back FUNCTIONAL this time. Either way, I'm not going to have it back for at least a week, but I'm almost positive they'll have it for much longer. So no arts from me for a while. I'M SO SORRY TO THE THREE I OWE PICTURES! I meant to finish your stuff before I sent it off, I really did. But alas, Photoshop crapped out and then studying got the better of me.

I'll still have the home computer *shudders* to get online with though, so I'll still be around. Well, not for a few days because I send it off tomorrow right after my final and I won't be home 'til Saturday. Whatever. Later!

I can be quite a smartass sometimes, and when I've had caffeine or sugar I go kinda crazy...

Psy is very outspoken. He often picks fights without even realizing it, whereas I'm very non-confrontational. Also, Psy is green. I am most certainly not green.

Well, I'd like to be more outgoing like him I guess. He doesn't care who he talks to or what he says- he's just bold. I wouldn't want to be nearly as straight-forward as him though. That's the point where outgoing crosses over into overbearing and people don't like that.

Figured I should update, seeing that that last journal is over a week old and now completely irrelevant. Anyways, I'm going to be horrendously busy for the next three weeks. Gotta love the end of the semester- suddenly you realize that EVERYTHING IS DUE IN TWO DAYS and you've done absolutely NOTHING all semester. I'll be lucky to survive the next two weeks, let alone finals week after that. If I do though, I'll have just survived the semester from HELL and will be therefore quite proud. I'll probably reward myself by sleeping for the first time in weeks and finally finishing the last two pieces I owe two wonderfully kind and patient people. This is assuming I don't completely snap and run away to become a hobo in Europe first.

So yeah, if you leave me a comment on something and I don't respond- you'll know why. I discovered just this weekend how long it can take to reply to all those comments I so love to receive. It gets so hard to return the kindness when I'm busy like this! However, if you take the time to leave something more than "cool" or "OMG pretty 8D" I'll be more apt to respond. WEEE! Tomorrow is U of A Band Day and my high school marching band is coming! (They always do- despite this particular competition's horribly brutal reputation.) I'm such a geek. But it's gonna be awesome! I get to see all my favorite (and not-so-favorite) loozers again! They'll probably get an awful rating though... U of A hates small bands. With a passion. And our band is not just small, it's tiny. Like, 30 people. It was hard enough to pull off the rating we got last year with 9 seniors. And they only have like, 3 now, so they're not that good to begin with. OH WELL! I wanna see 'em play anyways. OMG maybe my friend will let me play his trumpet!! GAH! I WANT TO SO BAD!

AND AND AND the Pride of Arizona (UofA) marching band plays at the band day. And they are totally the most FREAKING AWESOME COLLEGE BAND EVAH!! I don't care what you think about your college's band. Mine could kick it's brass. Srsly. If there's one thing U fo A does right during football season, it's their marching band. They never fail to give me chills when they play- they are just. that. AMAZING.

Oh Lord I am SUCH a band geek.

I'm currently disemboweling my entire gallery (including scraps.) Last time I tried just moving things to scraps, they didn't go anywhere. They stayed in my main gallery were listed as scraps. So I'm just deleting things now. Don't worry, I'm leaving all commissions/gifts/requests/trades/etc. I'm just deleting a lot of just-for-fun pictures that don't really need to be given any attention anyways. A little organization is much-needed and long overdue.

Ahem- in other news: I'm so happy now!! See, I've always planned on abducting Jinx and Bond (my kitties) from home as soon as I got an apartment AND was able to afford to take care of them (I don't want them to end up starving college kitties.) The apartment part was always doable (they're cheaper than dorms- go figure. ) But as for feeding them, not so much. Well, I was talking to my mom today about the apartment complex my friend and I are already looking at, and she expressed her anxiousness to get Jinx and Bond out of the house (she's not an animal person .) I reminded her that I still can't afford them- but then she told me not to worry about it. She'd pay for all their food and litter and possible vet appointments for the next two years!! So next year I get to have my car AND kitties again!! YAY!! All I have to do is make sure the apartment allows pets- which shouldn't be a problem. Pretty much every complex down here that I've heard of allows animals up to 20 lbs. I can't wait to have them with me again...

Ahh that's enough excitement for one night. Bedtime!!

Not a good combo, but wonderfully delicious separately.

So I made myself some tea today and it tasted EXACTLY like Big Red. Yes, the gum. It was a little sweeter though.... It was really really yummy... just... different.

ANYWAYS- I'm working my way through that pile of artwork. Only the two big projects left now... Curse you two for picking such unfamiliar and/or complicated subject matter! Haha, just kidding. This is good for me. I need to travel outside of my comfort zone ever now and then, especially since I'll start classes soon, and they don't care what I can or like to draw.

Three midterms down, one to go.

Oh, go here- [link] I don't normally like rap, or female singers for that matter, but this song is awesome. A friend saw her live in Vegas and liked her so much she bought a copy to bring back here. She's Sri Lankan, by the way. Who would've thought?

GYAAAA! Too. Much. Work. Must sleeep!! If only I didn't have math today, I'd sleep all afternoon. I hate midterms. They wouldn't be so bad if they didn't come in waves- I never get just one at a time. I either get 4 all in one week or none. I got back from LA last night at 11 and studied for the art history exam from HELL until 2am, and tonight I get to do it again and study for the society and ecology exam from HELL. Oh joy. Student + studying= DEATH! When will this semester end?!??! At least I'll have art classes next semester... those will lighten my mood considerably.

In other words- I'm really busy. trades and requests must, regrettably, remain patient for now.

I'm now officially an Equine Science major!! Only so I can take art classes next semester though.... Long story. Anyways, at least I get to tell people I'm (kind of) a horse scientist now, and there's an entire class on physiology and conformation. Basically, I'd get credit for just staring at horses all day. Best. Major. EVER.

In other news: I got another art thing done! 3 down, 7,395,604 to go.

I've been cured of my emo mood once again. Sunday night my friends drug me out into public. We went and saw Across the Universe. Their only comments on it were, "I bet the credits would be really fun to watch stoned." I personally loved it. It didn't piss me off like most love stories do, so I chalked that up to a win. Beautiful, beautiful movie. My mood took another upswing that night when I got to run around and kick a soccer ball with my friend. On Monday I found out I aced my first Art History exam, so cheered me up quite a bit. Yesterday we got cookies in Spanish, and today it's hot again! YAY! I feel much better now. Like someone shot me up with happy juice, gave me a cookie, and told me I won a pony.

I don't have math today... I think I'll draw to celebrate.

It was cold yesterday. COLD. In Tucson (which meant it was only 73 or so with wind.) I HATE FALL! Bring the heat back!

With that and an enormous amount of homework due this week on top of two midterms and a heaping helping of PAIN- I'm pretty miserable. The only good thing to happen recently was the 13 hours of sleep I got last night. Apparently over-exhaustion caught up with me at last...

Sorry to go all emo on you guys, but I just thought you should know, considering that at the moment I neither feel like nor have time for art. Which means the all trades/gifts I've finally been working on will go into hibernation once again.

Er- ran. I just got back from running at the gym. I set new personal record! For college anyway. (I've done way better in the past- but that was during soccer season when I was actually in shape. ) 4 miles in under 40 minutes, baby! Woo! And now I have the coolest sweat pattern on my shirt- it's all dark with sweat except for where my sports bra is... (Yes, you did need to know that. ) So I am quite satisfied with myself tonight. Now to write a reaction paper for Art History!!

So yeah, I'm back at my dorm, and I'll start working on all the art I owe people again real soon. (Hopefully by the end of this week when the homework load shrinks back down a bit.)

Note to self: Do not wear light-colored shirts to the gym.

So my puter still isn't fixed- but I found out that it's not my fault it's broke, so I'm happy. It's still under warranty, so I'll just bring it back to Circuit City and demand that they either fix it up good or GET ME A NEW ONE. Hopefully it won't take long to fix- I kinda need the infernal machine for all my homework.

Well, I'm still busy with homework, but I'm slowly working my way through the pile of trades and gifts, so keep being patient, kind people. (wow- look at all the commas in that sentence)

OK, random thoughts from the dark recesses of my mind now- you can stop reading here if you like. I'm just going to muse for a while and hopefully feel better at the end. I think college life is finally starting to get to me. At first everything was going way too fast for me to feel homesick or lost or sad or anything, really. I just rushed from one place or event to another, completely oblivious to everything. But now that my new life has slipped into a routine I'm finally able to get back in touch with me again... and I've discovered that I'm feeling very lonely. I'm never alone here- NEVER- but I still feel so isolated. I couldn't place the hollow feeling in me for a while- I just passed it off as homesickness or plain old hunger. But I recently realized that it's something else entirely. I have plenty of friends here- most of them from my close group of friends back home- but not my best friend. Everyone has their best friend here, the one they can always go to to just let everything go... but me. I don't have anyone here I can -really- talk to. Face-to-face. And it's driving me mad. I always knew having one really close friend is very important- just didn't know how much so until now. I'm just being silly about all this, I know. Everyone goes through it so why the hell should I be so special? But still. It's making me sad all the same.

GAAAAAAH!!!! %#$@!! Well, my tablet problems managed to confuse a whole room of Wacom tech support today. Seriously. NO ONE could help. After an hour of uninstalling, reinstalling, disconnecting, reconnecting, and enabling things to no avail, they finally said there was nothing they could do and sent me on my way.

So I called the bluetooth adaptor people. Some mean foreign guy just blamed the problem on me being dumb (after he assumed that I was running a mac for the first ten minutes of the conversation and thuroughly confused me with apple-talk) and repeated very slowly that it wasn't the adaptor's problem and hung up.

USELESS! ALL OF THEM!

I'm so fed up with technology right now. There are so many things wrong with other technological things of mine that it's all just too overwhelming. I seriously have no idea how I can have such terrible luck with this kind of thing.

I GIVE UP! I'm going to go run until I pass out now...

I'm back from the midwest and all moved in to my dorm now I've been wanting to draw and upload something since I got back- but I has no tyme!! College is already a pain in the butt. It's still hundreds of times more fun than high school though. When I'm not in class or doing homework or running errands for classes or buying the stuff I forgot- I get to to whatever I want! It's awesome! (Mostly this means that I eat CheeriO's for every meal and drink the orange juice right out of the carton. ) Meh- my raging social life will die down as soon as everyone starts getting more homework- and then I'll be able to draw again. UPDATE: I've just arrived back at my uncle's apartment in Milwaukee after a stay at another uncle's lake cabin in the North Woods. We'll be flying home tomorrow and moving me in to my dorm the next day. I'm so done with traveling!! So anyways, I'll still be busy, but for now I'm just bored so- on to taggedness and randomness!!

1. What sort of artist would you consider yourself to be?
Very liesure-oriented. I'm hoping to change that in college though.

2. How long have you been doing art?
Since I could hold a pencil

3. What is the biggest strength of your art?
Expression. I love the expressiveness I can put into a drawing.

4. What is the one thing you would like to improve upon?
Everything. No, litterally. I can't put a whole piece together for the life of me. I need to work on putting backgrounds and foregrounds togther.

Hail-yes.

7. Which artist has influenced your art the most?
Hmm, good one. *neondragon probably gets credit for all digital influence, because her oekaki board introduced me to all things digital art. But Bev Doolittle is my biggest traditional inspiration. I've admired her paintings since I first saw some in my aunt's house almost 14 years ago.

8. What is your strongest medium?
Computer paper and a good ol' mechanical pencil.

9. Is there a medium you would like to learn how to use (or use better)?
Oil paint. Have never gotten the hang of those- but would certainly love to learn.

10. How do you handle critiques of your work?
Eh, it depends. If it's something stupid like "this sux" I tend to ignore it. If someone has taken enough consideration to stare a picture of mine long enough to find the flaws- I get very flattered. It takes a lot of care to do that! I love in-depth critique- but I must admit that I respond much better to it when presented politely rather than crude- and bluntly.

11. Do you give critiques to other artists?
When I think I can help. Usually, no. Because what do I know? The only critique I could ever give is- "___ looks a little off. Go find a bunch of reference pictures and stare at them." Because that's all I ever do.

12. What is your favourite subject matter for your art?

Schedule for August:
This is my last day at home for a very long time. I'm heading off to Wisconsin and Chicago for a week with my dad tomorrow at 5:30am. My mom and brother are going to meet us in WI next Friday for my cousin's wedding next Saturday, then we're all going to spend a few days at my uncle's lake cabin in northern Wisconsin. I don't get back to AZ until late on the 17th- and the last move-in day for the dorms at U of A is the 18th. So the next day we all have to rush down there and get me moved in so I can start classes on the 20th.

This means I have to be completely moved out of my room today so we can bring the boxes down to Phoenix, leave them with an aunt, and pick them up and bring them the rest of the way to U of A when we get back. So now I have to finish packing up my entire room, go to two more appointments today (one in about 15 minutes actually...) write a very important letter, clean out my car (I can't take it with me ), have dinner with my family, and say goodbye to all my friends all before I sleep in my own bed one last time. AAAAH!

Needless to say, I won't be online for a while, and if I am I might be able to check all my messages. I'll have my computer with me on vacation, but there's no saying if I'll have time to even turn it on. So don't get offended if I don't reply to anything for, say, a month or two. I'm just really busy.

MUAHAHA, LOOK! *points to shoutbox* A picture there!! See it? SEE IT? I put that there! Me! The technologically-challenged one! OK, so healped me a GREAT DEAL. She is so patient! Thank you for helping me!!

OK, so I went through my gallery and scrapped everything that I deemed unneccessary. It's not that I don't like the deviations that I scrapped- I just don't think they are finished enough to belong in my gallery with more accomplished projects. So now my scrap folder is HUGE. I'll start deleting them soon. Not all of them- just the ones I actually dislike, and ones without any faves or comments.

In other news: I might get to do a mural for MONEH! A high school up in the mountains where we used to live are called the Mustangs. We know the current principal, and he knows my specialty is horses, so he offered to give me the remaining balance in the previous senior class' account to paint a huge mustang on a wall in the gym. It would be AWESOME! I'd be paid to paint a 6ft+ mustang on a big wall. How cool is THAT? I'd get around $400 for it. Just enough to buy that Canon digital camera I've had my eye on for college.

This'll be so much better than painting something for my school. They never paid me. All I ever got for being their art slave was an A in art. CHEAP B-TARDS! This other little school knows how to really appreciate an artist.

My last day of work is- well- today, technically, seeing as it's 2am. I'll have free time now! ... That's a lie, I have to pack my room up for college now. Woo, fun. Meh, at least I don't have to go to work anymore. Don't get me wrong, I loved that job- but I need a vacation. Really, I do. This summer has been rough for me, I'm just looking forward to getting away in August. (We're going to WI for a cousin's wedding.)

Anyways, what was I saying... OH! Yes, I have a good version of PS for my computer now, and my tablet works! So I'll be able to do real digital art again! Yay! Well, maybe. I just bought my printer for college, and it has a scanner- so maybe I'll just continue being lazy and uploading sketchbook doodles.

Does anyone know how to take screenshots with Vista? [alt]+[prt sc] and paste don't work like they did on the old comp. I'm wondering if something changed, or if my computer is just retarded....

I survived backpacking and going to the lake this weekend. Yay! My shoulders hurt now.

I was thinking about it tonight, and I realized that my friends' past and present love lives read something like the script for a daytime soap opera. Seriously. Someone needs to follow all of us around with a camera. 'Tis all very dramatic. I'll try to explain:

To make things "easier" we will call the girls A, B, C, D, E, and F and the guys Z, Y, X, W, and V.
A and Z liked each other but didn't go out, then B and Z went out, but soon Z went back to A. F liked Z but never let him know. Z then moved on to C and A went out with Y. C and Z didn't work out and Z hooked up with D. D had liked X before but nothing had happened. A ended up going out with X instead. W and C got together as did E and V. D decided to push Z on E for some reason so Z liked E. E and V broke up but E never went out with Z. A and X ended, as did D and Z. B and Y ended up going out for a long time, then got married. F liked V and ended up sleeping with him. D and Z got back together, and W and C never really stopped going out.

Obviously no one in my group obeys the rule "never go out with a friend's ex." And I wondered why my life was so complicated at times. It's a wonder we haven't all killed each other by now.

I swear it hates me already. Stupid thing only decides to work as I'm on the phone with tech support. It made me look like a moron!

-Yeah uh, my tablet doesn't work.
-OK, we'll try to run a diagnostics test on it. Do you have it? Good, go ahead and hook it up.
-OK...
-Is it plugged in now?
-Yeah.
-And what happened?
-... It... turned on....

Geh. At least I saved a ton on shipping the darn thing back. -_-' Meh, I guess as soon as I get PS for this computer then, I'll be back up and running. Just in time for college, too.

In other news- I get to go camping with my friends this weekend! I haven't gotten to go camping since freshman year. I'm so excited! I hope we don't get stormed out. It's been really stormy lately. Heh heh, I guess monsoon season isn't the best time to go camping.

Well I'm home now, after a -very- long weekend. My clothes are unpacked (and lying all over my floor), my message center is sorted, and my fishies are fed. All is right again. I am officially a University of Arizona student now! I got my scedule, cat card, and everything. Now all that's left for me to do is get my act together and apply for the college of Fine Arts in the spring. It'll be easier once I'm down there, so I can apply in person, but I'm still worried I won't have time to make a proper portfolio by then.

I'm too tired to say more (my arms and hands are worthless anyways- rock climbing today KILLED them) so I'll just go to sleep. In my OWN bed.

First things first: daddy's doing better, I've nearly stopped mourning, and I am still without a tablet.

Now, on to the next set of worries: My college orientation is this Thursday and Friday. I'm freakin out man! I have to sign up for classes there- and I have NO IDEA what I want to take. Gen eds and art classes, yeah, but which ones?? Basic ones, I'm sure, but there are TONS to pick from! Good thing I haven't picked a specific major yet. Geh, hopefully my "advisor" will be able to help me choose. I can't be the only clueless freshman they've had to deal with.

I'm going to have the most boring year of classes ever this year. My whole freshman year will probably be gen eds. I want ot get those out of the way fast. Hopefully they won't be too boring, or fill up my whole schedule. I REALLY REALLY want to take an actual art class. I've never had one before! Oh Lord- I hope the university gets my college transcripts- I DO NOT want ot take English 101 and 102 again. I would die! D. I. E. I transfered out of senior english to take that one because it's harder, and that was still horrendously boring. To have to do it again would bore me to death!! I just hope I don't have to take much english period. I think with my major I'll only have to take one more semester though....

OK, I'm done venting for now.

DAMNIT! I should just crawl in a hole and hide until the summer is over. Things aren't getting better, and I'm afraid of what could happen if they get worse.

My birthday went pretty well (despite having towork the whole day.) And the party the next day was fun. I got to see a lot of family I haven't gotten to see in a long time. It was good to get to talk to them all again. I forgot just how crazy all my older cousins are. I got a pretty good haul, too. Lots of stuff I can use next year in college. Dishes, towels, toiletries, and such. It was a good day- that night is what sucked.

To make a long story short, my dad took a nasty fall on his Harley Saturday night around 8:30. He hit loose gravel on a backroad and laid the bike down in the ditch. He was airlifted to Phoenix ('cause the hospital here sucks) so we spent all day yesterday and today there with him. He's all right though, he got out of the hospital this afternoon. Nothing serious- just a broken nose and a lot of road rash. He still has a sense of humor about it though- he refers to himself as "pizza face" at the moment. The bike isn't too bad either. Just a broken headlight, bent handlebars, missing tailpipe, and an assortment of dents and scratches. It still runs. Daddy- ever the optimist- instists that it was time for a new paint job anyways.

So, after all that, I'm feeling pretty drained. Mentally and physically. I have so much more to do still this week. No rest for the weary this summer. I need a vacation on my "vacation." College might actually provide a little more rest time for me. Not like I could draw even if I had the time. My new tablet completely pooped-out on me. The thing just won't turn on. I tried EVERYTHING. I even had my computer-programmer uncle look at it. He spent a good hour with it and concluded that it was a hardware error. The warenty is still good though, so I'm just sending it back. I think I'll go with a completely different kind this time. That one was just no good for me.
