I originally wasn't going to enter because the prize is so awesome I thought there'd be no chance for me as all the better artists would enter. But then I came up with this idea and so i went for it. Now I need more faves in order to have a better chance. I'd also like to know what people think of it too because I don't think I've spent so much time on a single illustration before. There's still more room for improvement I feel. But I am pretty proud of it.

For the past ten days I was without the internets. How'd I handle that you may ask? Well first the internet was cut off because I moved house and was only just reconnected this afternoon. During the last ten days I've been playing Street Fighter IV. Awesome shit that be. I bought the collectors edition too which came with an exclusive anime movie. Stupid thing is I can only watch it in the X-Box 360.

The day we moved was also my eldest daughters 6th birthday. And my baby will be 1 next month. I've been seaching for jobs too. Very hard finding artistic employment opportunities in Bendigo. I've started colouring a 32 page Kolchak?Holmes comic for Moonstone Books. That should bring in some good dough. Compared to what I'm used to getting that is.

Also I've made it into Udon's Darkstalker's Tribute book. Out of the 3 illustrations I submitted my favourite was chosen. It's way better than the Street Fighter pic I did last year that won. I'll upload the other two images soon.

GOOD NEWS EVERYBODY


Today my copy of the Street Fighter Tribute book arrived. And what an amazing book it is too. You don't even need to be a fan of the game to appreciate the art within. Particularly page 229. *Ahem*



Then I found out that one of my Phantom cover designs will be published by moonstone.


I asked around and it turns out that I may get some work with Moonstone too. I may become a colourist on the Phantom series and then 10 pages of artwork for a prose Phantom story written by Paul Kupperberg. But we'll have to see if that dream comes true.

It's been up for a little while now but ~Dougy2040 and myself have joined forces in creating a Phantom based DA account called ~PhanWorks. You can find a lot of fan art dedicated to The Ghost Who Walks and so far only one Mandrake piece. I had the idea to create an account like this when I first joined DA but could never be bothered until ~Dougy2040 approached me at his site ChronocleChamber.com and asked me if I was interested. Then voila the stars aligned, rather I got off my arse then sat back down at the computer and it was done.

#1 - Comics sites don't seem to scare me.

#2 - I'll be getting some money soon. For I have found my first payed work. Actually it found me. I was just standing around in class when this guy came up and asked for someone to re-do his site. I'm re-creating this site [link] I know tell me about it.

I've been entering their art comps for a very long time. I made it to 2nd place way back when and finally I came first. The task was to illustrate an anime character in another time. I decided on doing a comic which must have won them over. Looks like they've used the same idea for their most recent art comp which is to create a single page comic. I like it when I influence people. Any way it's not as eciting as when I found out I made it into the Street Fighter book but it still feels good none the less. I accidentally found I was the winner last Wednesday but they haven't contacted me about it yet. I've had a pretty cool year which means 2009 will totally suck balls.

1- I procrastinate too much with important things.

2- I really despise cigarettes and alcohole. People who have these on a regular basis are adicts which make them junkies.

3- People feel threatened when I speak my mind about things. Becuase they know it's true.

4- I hate lying. I feel really stupid when I lie. Except if it's a little white lie.

5- I don't treat people badly yet so many people feel threatened by me. Too often have others tried to cause trouble for me. Sometimes it must relate back to answer number 3.

6- I absolutely cannot stand Shitzu's or any other mutt that resembles them. Dogs should have fur not fucking wool. They're ugly little bastards with ugly lifeless eyes like a shark.

I have a book full of sketches and notes so when I stop procrastinating I'll get into gear. I've been thinking either to make it a novel with the occasional illustration or a graphic novel. I prefer the latter but I'm soooo lazy. Any way these clowns are the villains. They can turn into giant monsters and they live in these houses (which are depicted in the illustration) that are located in a swamp on the top of a mountain. That's all I'm saying until I get something done about it. Which will probably be another five years at this rate.

I know everyone else has probably already seen it but finally after waiting oh so long I got to see Sweeney Todd. It was absolutely great. Of course Tim Burton is my favourite director and that would have caused some bias judgement. Several months ago I tried watching the Broadway DVD. I could not stand the performances in that so kudos to the films actors and their extraordinary performance. Now I wish that Spielberg would hurry up and make a musical before it's too late.

THE PHANTOM HAS BEEN BUSTED

That's right my favourite comic book hero The Phantom has been tested for his punch on Mythbusters. The test was to see if an actual person could punch hard enough while wearing a Skull Ring and leave an indelible mark on some ones face. They made a machine that could punch at various PSI and they used a pig as the target. That failed because the pig was too soft. Then they used an human skull with some skin wrapped around it. Today I had my interview at Bendigo Regional Institute of TAFE. I was applying for the Certificate IV in Multimedia. Turns out they think I don't belong there. Instead they insisted I enrol in the Advanced Diploma of Multimedia because they were very excited to see my examples. Particularly my book of sketches. The course involves quite a bit of use in 3D Studio Max and After Effects, two applications I know nothing about. They're looking past this and really want me studying the advanced stuff. I'm going to have to study these a bit between now and February. It's going to be tough but it looks like it's going to be a lot of fun.

Today has finally come. Australian Election Day. The next chance to vote out John "The fucked up lying Cunt" Howard. I've been waiting for this day.
