purrsia is my all-purpose user name since I used it to join a Thundercats board years ago.
I joined DA to post my scribbles, but I got busy and 1,000 other things, and just stop by once and a while to see what cool things other people are posting.

Started working part time in September 07, but recently got a raise and went full time. So, long story short, I'm online even less now. My job is online and by the time I'm done well I'm just burnt out.

So anyway, I still pop by here once in a while and lurk on people's DA accounts and journals. But if I don't always comment, or fave quickly, or respond to comments right away er...this would be why.

Speaking of which, still plugging away at moving my Voltron site (shameless plug alert: will be located at voltroncentral.net when I'm finished) and decided to upload some new wallpapers here at DA for the occassion.
I also noticed I've a few Tcats wallpapers I never posted here, so those are going up as well. Sure, I'm technically retired but since I just slapped some images together in PSP and didn't actually do any of the drawing, it's fair game. I'm getting gradually better at this layering thing, I think, as well. I'm also trying to work with Photoshop more - it's similar to PSP in a lot of ways, but since I got used to PSP first old habits are hard to break and all.

Otherwise, still trying to keep up with all the fic WiPs I have going in both fandoms, and keep plot bunnies at bay. It was fun to win a couple fandom awards for a few of my Voltron fics as well as several for the site itself - er, which is another thing I need to get updated on the site.

Anyway, I keep up with LJ a lot more than I do here or at myspace, so if you're that interested in my daily mundania go for it. But the Voltron Fandom Awards are still going on, and the current round of voting includes casting votes for the art nominees. I therefore thought it appropriate to post a note here at DA for obvious reasons.

Just join the yahoo group where the awards take place, if you haven't already, and then you can go to the polls and vote on your favorite pieces that were nominated earlier this year.

This takes place at a Yahoo Group ( [link] ) so visit there and read up on some files and latest posts for the details, especially if this is new to you.

The concept is for the fandom to come together and nominate different fan sites, fan art and fan fics and then vote on who should come out the winner. Winners get an award graphic and props on the area of my site that showcases winners, as well as announcements made across the fandom which garners more attention for their fine work.

It's meant to be done in a positive spirit and is in no way meant to create bad or hurt feelings. So far, we've had great success in people being good sports, not cheating, and participating. We'd love to see anyone there who wants to at least participate in nominating/voting. That part usually happens shortly after the new year. But I figured I'd post and get the thought in people's heads and as I said, we do need more volunteers to actually help make it possible so stop on by and see what you might want to do!

However, the art fire has burned out. Not like I updated a lot here, but this just serves as a warning that after a lot of thought I've decided to stop embarrassing myself by posting art online. It's not good and I'm not getting any better. Sure, I'll still doodle offline - I always have - but why inflict it on the world?

It's ok. You can't be good at everything, and I've simply come to the realization that most of my peers are leaps and bounds more talented than I in this arena, so rather than waste energy on a futile persuit, I'd rather apply that energy to things where I have half a shot at doing something respectable.

No, I don't have to be the best. But I do think if something is worth this much of my time, I better be able to hold my own. I just can't, and it's useless beating my head against the wall trying. It is also a relief to not have this backlog of stuff I wanted to finish but kept becoming so displeased with it. It really is a positive thing.

I guess I'll keep most of the stuff up here, but I'm still debating whether to take down other things elsewhere.
I do want to keep my account, because there are some brilliant things out there and I enjoy faving them and then looking at my faves

Perhaps after I get the next batch of Thundercats site updates done I can do something about it. That is overdue, and I want to do a nice fat, juicy update for the site's five year anniversary ^_^

This is my new thing - setting reasonable goals and going one step at a time. I simply need to "pencil" art into that equation, as it were.

I'm ready now, although my sites aren't considered and probably never will be "finished" in the finite sense of the word, to take a step back from coding to concentrate on the creative side of myself. This should me more art will be posted on this space in the near future. I look forward to getting the practice I need to grow and improve as an artist. A lot of my friends here are leaps and bounds ahead of me in that dept, so I welcome support, critiques and advice.
