So I'm resurrecting my old artistic side once again. Hopefully I can be a little more consistent this time. I really do enjoy drawing and writing yet for so long I've repressed these passions because I've always had "other things to do." I may need some egging on, so if you see this journal entry and have a minute, tell me to go draw something!

I have a new project that I am working on. Basically it is a retelling of an old story that never saw its full potential. It's about my alien character, Jake, and his quest to save his planet from destruction. It's been fun wrapping my brain around how I'm going to stick with the same storyline, apply some humor and concepts from 10 years ago and yet fast-forward them to college-aged alien kids and come up with some new material along the way.

If I can follow through with this, it should be a fun little trip.

Tonight was great. Gabe, Logan, Seth, Kylee, Ryan, Kiwi, Autumn and I all went down to Seneca to suprise Dave and hang out with his new youth group. After hiding in Tana's closet for about 10 minutes, he finally showed up and we jumped out. It was so kool to see him. We hung out at Tana's house for a while, then went and saw his church before finally ending up at Dave and Shea's house. I really had a good time and it was great to see everyone. I was very upset though, that I left my memory stick HERE. So no pictures, unless Tana or Lesley will send some to me.

Then whenever we were leaving, Dave began to cry. And he was crying pretty bitter. Tonight was the second hard realization that my world will be completely different in one week. Sarah's leaving was the first. Now tonight it finally hit me that it may be a really long time before I see Dave agan. Seneca is a long drive from Ash Grove but not as long of a drive as it is from Columbia. Not only will I be that much further from Dave, but I'll be so far from many of my friends. I've been blocking these feelings out of my mind all summer, but the end really is near. I mean Center has a new youth pastor. Ash Grove starts next Monday. I'm going shopping for dorm stuff tomorrow. My friends are leaving one at a time for college, me being next on the list. There's been a lot of talk about quality time lately. Man this sucks. Change is hard, and this one may be harder than I anticipated.

Mmm I just had lunch. Guess what it was! Hot pockets and Dr..... how'd you know?? Oh right, The title. Well so long time no post, eh? Well I have been busy. This morning I went into Springfield to get my window fixed, to no avail. See, it's off it's track and will randomly slide down. However, the part it needs costs a whopping $300 so that's a no-can-do right now. Dad says he could get ahold of a cheaper one from a salvage yard or something so maybe we'll go with that. As for now, they stuck a wire in my door so the window can't move. I don't really need it to anyway, so it's all good. That only cost $45. Yay.

Be right back, I have to drop some friends off at the pool.

Okay, I feel better.

So anyway. I then went to get a new antenna for my phone. So I should be good for another few months until I break that one. But the good news is, it was cheaper than last time and I now have caller ID!!! It apparantly comes with the plan (although I don't really know what my plan is anyway) and they just didn't bother to put it on mine. Yippee, now I can actually call people back!

I am really excited for tonight. Some of us are going to see Dave, our old youth pastor, in Seneca tonight. We're getting together with his new youth group and it'll be a suprise when he shows up. Woot! Yeah and I've also been talking to this girl, Lesley, who is in his new youth group and she is super kool. So that will be kool to see her too. Well, I've got some stuff to do, like drawing. So thanks for tuning in.

I feel like absolute total crap right now. I wish I could have restarted this day. It went all wrong and it's all due to the fact that I am sleep deprived. I've had friends over since Sunday until tonight and I've really had a great time hanging out with them all. Dad and Pam went to Vegas by the way, and that's why I've had people over. Since then however, I've gradually come to discover what a jerk I am.

I get on here a couple nights ago to read how much Heather and Courtney don't like my friends from Ash Grove because they make fun of the girls. So sorry to you both. If I had known that, well, I would've tried to not let it get out of control at least. I then realize that I am every bit as much of the problem as they are and that really bothers me. I have never wanted to be classified with most of the male population as far as those sort of things go. I've made it a point to keep my mind as pure as possible with girls so as not to be thought of as just another pervert. I've done my best to make decent good decisions, as far as drugs, alcohol, sex and the like. Instead I've tried to be more like Christ.

Unfortunately, I've stumbled a lot lately in my walk in Christ and hit the ground pretty hard a few times actually. I know that has attributed to my grumpiness. Oh today I was irritable around my mom to the point that she thanked me for helping her paint but said that I could leave. Otherwise a nice way of saying leave. I haven't felt much lower than that for a while. Then tonight all of my friends showed up without warning. Normally I wouldn't have minded, but like I said, I'm really tired and I told them they couldn't stay tonight with me needing sleep and Anna being here. So they left even earlier than I said they could stay feeling like I didn't want them there. I'm slipping off the path bad and I need my butt kicked I think.

Murifns has me working almost every night this week. I get tomorrow off so that will be grand. I don't really mind the horus because next week is going to be my last week anyway and that is the week that I really don't want to have to work a lot anyway. My parents leave for Vegas Sunday mornning--I get to drive them to the airport at 4 in the morning-- and they won't be back until 10 Thursday night. SOO I will be having an open invitation for all of my guy friends to come over and spend the night any night. I'm so excited.

Well now I'm going to talk about what I did yesterday. Umm.... I didn't really do much of anything until late afternoon Seth, Gabe, Logan and I went into Springfield and met up with David, Courtney and Josh and we all played ultimate frisbee for a while. That was great. Afterwards, we all went to David's, ordered a pizza and played Catchphrase and Clue. We had some good times.

Anna and I switched rooms. Kayla and I are going to switch rooms. I quit my mowing job (finally). The first week of August will be my last week at Murfins. Now, all I have to do is find out who my dang roomate will be and my focus will be on getting ready for college. Whew, that's almost scary, but I am more than ready and extremely excited. I need something to rock my world bad and I think MU will do just that. However, I do want to spend a lot more time with friends and family before I go. Friends especially because I know how little time we will have to hang out from now on. Yes folks it will be a bittersweet feeling indeed.

Speaking of going to the lake, Dad,Pam, Anna and I went with the Hudson family, some friends of ours, up to Stockton lake to do a little camping. I had to come in this morning to go to work though. We had a short but hard rain there and the power went out for about an hour and a half, so that was fun. On my way home I had expected to have to drive back to Stockton only to find everyone at our house getting ready to eat burgers. So, I am glad that I don't have to drive down there and back anymore. Plus I'll get to go to church tomorrow and who knows, maybe I'll even get some drawing and reading done. I may even wash my car! WHA!

Well today I only had to work a 5-9 shift at Murfin's. Can't do anything with friends tonight though, since I've got to get up at 6:30 tomorrow morning. Hopefully we will be back by 7:00 so I can go up to the church and talk to the prospective youth pastor a little bit. The guy is only 20 years old so I am a little skeptical. However, I know that God can work mightily in anyone so if this is where he is supposed to be then things will work out just fine.

To tie in with yesterday's post about patience with work, next week I will be doing over 40 hours total so that should be interesting. I finally got the hours at Murfin's I wanted, just about 2 months too late unfortunately. So now I will be doing over 20 hours there combined with the usual mowing. At least I can't complain about not working enough anymore. The only major bummer is that it cuts in pretty heavily into my family's camping this weekend so I will have to be coming back and forth from Stockton. Oh well.

That's right, folks, I committed 15 hours of my day to WORK! Do you know what I do for work on Mondays? Do you know why I despise Mondays? Yes? Well I will tell you anyway. I weedeat for $5.00 an hour on Mondays. The job isn't exactly the "Eight hours a day, three days a week, $50 per day" job that I originally expected as my step-mother talked it up. While I do get $50 per day, I am usually gone from oh, 6:50 am - 9:00 pm. Oh, but not today. Nonononono NO. Today I was home around 9:45. I hadn't eaten for eight hours mind you so I was a little grumpy. So I am not too thrilled that my day was shot all to pieces once again by my job. If only I had a reasonable excuse to quit but Murfin's alone just don't pay the bills!

It's okay though. Today I was suprisingly patient. I am pretty confident that the reason for that is a) I had a book to read for once, and b) yesterday's Sunday School lesson. See, I was asked by our pastor to "lead" Sunday School for the youth group and something I had everyone do was write down a couple prayer requests on a piece of paper, hand them three people to the left and then pray for the person whose paper he or she received. On Thursday we are to call that person or email them seeing how they're doing. It's an accountability excercise I guess you could call it, but I can tell that the girl who got my prayer requests (one being patience at work) did just that today. God gave me some much needed patience today. Kind of ironic how today was my longest day at work just after me writing that down as a prayer request.

Okay so I am working on a drawing of my three friends and I playing Nintendo 64. I should have plenty of time to work on that tomorrow so be watching! If you aren't then you should.

Well, so I've gone through a little photography phase in my art, but I will soon get back to cartooning. I've been really lazy this week while not working and I'm getting back on track soon. Thanks for everyone's comments, it's really awesome to get those. Anyway, take it easy and I'll see ya!

Well that was a pretty impressive response to my Atlanta pictures. Ahaha, kidding of course. Well so I guess I'm not much of a photographer so I'll stick to cartoons. I'm on my way to the lake in the morning and I won't get back till after my old youth pastor's wedding. I will then either have more cartoons or I will put up some pictures taken at the lake! BWAhaha... alright well I'm out. See ya friends.

Hey everyone, how's it goin? I am here in class with nothing to do. Not that I'm complaining. Well so I should actually start drawing again now that I don't have to work on a massive scrapbook for our school's Beta Club. Man that thing was time consuming like nothing else... Anyway, thanks to everyone who has commented on my stuff! I do appreciate it and more should be on the way soon. I have plenty of time to procrastinate my book report and composition for english so I shouldn't be up to too much this weekend. Perhaps I'll try making an actual comic? I was inspired today... Well I'm outta here. Take it easy and don't sweat the small stuff! Later!
