You heard that correctly, folks. Extravaganzapaloozathon. It's a word I made up for this special occasion. I was rather bummed earlier this year when the Kickstarter for the first OWAZ book didn't pan out. It's good that it provides a safety net for the folks that are willing to pay ridiculous amounts to see something awesome come to life, but it left the amount of funds put forth for the book at a stifling total of $0. I decided that this simply would not do. I held off for a bit and allowed the fan base grow a bit, and now I feel ready for something like this.

Well! I'm back from Geek.Kon and I had a blast! Sales were lacking, but covered my cost of attendance and then some, so I can't complain. Well, another con come and gone. I wasn't selling at Anime Detour, but I did meet some great artists! The con was nice, but it seemed like a big fish in a little pond, or more accurately, a big con in a little hotel. The dealer's room had a line just to get in, which I've never seen. XD Also, Artist Alley was a bit of a walk from the Dealer's Room, which can be detrimental to both of them, as they bounce traffic between one another. Overall, however, I had a great time!

In two words: Rollercoaster Suckfest.

In some more words:  The con was a complete and total bust. Almost no traffic (the artists were told there would be between 2,000 and 5,000 people showing up, and it was more like 500 to 1,000, tops), rather shady convention staff (lots of "Cash only" signs), and it was just a geographical clusterfuck. Nobody who would competently run a convention would separate the dealer's room and Artist Alley and put them at opposite ends of the hotel.

ACen fucking rocked!  Being in the Artist Alley was such a new experience.  A new, fun, sometimes very stress-inducing, learning experience.  We arrived on Thursday afternoon, and I met up with the amazingly awesome :devmooglegurl: and :devlolishotafox: and we went to get the badges for me and my team.  Upon receiving said badges, it was discovered that :devmooglegurl: and I were right next to each other!  This made Artist Alley a lot more fun, as I had a friendly face to talk to (and to share Pocky with! :giggle: ).
