Assuming I can work out how, I have decided to at some point, hopefully SOON post a nice big NEWS ARTICLE FEATURING some of the fantastic yet under-appreciated art I have stumbled across during my time so far on DA.
I've personally been struggling to get my work out there, joining as many clubs as I can, etc, etc, so I know how hard it can be, and so I want to do my fellow artists a favour by helping them... [helping them helps me after all, right?]

Anyway, I'm saying this now in advance mostly so that I can say... If any of you reading this would like a feature, or would like to suggest someone else for a feature, just let me know and I'll do my best...
I know that there are several clubs on DA for the under-appreciated among us, a few of which I have already joined, and I certainly suggest you all check out... but some extra feature-y goodness can never go awry, right?

I would very much appreciate some opinions on one little choice I have to make...

Ok, so basically way back in January I started a project for college... It began as an installation in this 1 tiny little room in college - I strung up some pieces which I can't describe (somewhat spherical only they were made from cardboard so it was more like 2 circles intersecting - and covered in marbled paper). The original theme was just a general cirle/sphere/bubble feel. At this point though the spheres ended up looking a bit like planets, all suspended on clear fishing-line (which was un-intentional, but ok)
Anyway, over time the installation progressed as I kept adding new and different pieces and taking away some of the older ones. At some point I came up with the idea of painting onto/in some way altering old CDs and then hanging them in the room as well. This went even better than I'd expected as any sunlight coming through the window would reflect off the CDs as they spun around and the light would bounce/travel around the floor and walls in circles - lots of fun to video!
From there that first installation changed some more and was then taken down, I then proceeded to do several more installations in different places all involving CDs.


At this point you may be wondering how this constitutes a new project...
Well I'm back living with my parents for the summer, and they've been having problems with birds in their garden (they grow a lot of fruit and veg and the birds are stealing it)... can anyone see where this is going yet...???
I once heard that CDs make a good bird deterrent in gardens, so today I suggested to my mother that I resurrect my CDs from college/make more and build a similar installation in my very own garden!
I may be a little too excited about this! lol
I've been wanting to do something large scale since I came home but not really had anywhere to do it until now! I've also wanted to do work outside for a long time and haven't known where to do it til now!!

So... be on the lookout for photos of my new CD project (and I'll hopefully upload photos of the old ones too, I just haven't got around to it yet) coming soon!!!

As I was saying I've been trying to sort things into collections but haven't got very far so bear with me for a while
If anyone has any suggestions/any problems as to where things have been put just let me know!

Still trying to make other changes to my own stuff, find clubs to join, contests to enter, etc yay
While I also seem to be taking on several series at once... hmmm. Too many ideas, not enough time!

And on top of all that I have a wedding to go to in 3 weeks or so at which I'm doing the photography! eeep I've never done wedding photography before I'm horribly confused and I don't even have a good enough camera
HELP!!!
Found lots of helpful books... now if I could only get around to actually reading them all would start to come right... but no, despite my complete lack of things to do I still haven't really even started
Hmmm perhaps I should spend less time online... might be a good start

I guess I'll just have to return the next sunny day there is...
But all in all I had me some much needed relaxation and general good clean fun

In other news...
I've been trying to improve on my overall DA-ness - improve my gallery, join some clubs, generally just try to get my work and my name out there and seen just that little bit more...
If anyone has any suggestions/tips/advice,etc they'd be much appreciated

I appear to have started something of a series with my Insomnia pieces... Wasn't specifically intended to end up that way, but I've been having so many sleepless nights lately that I may as well make use of them and create something. I enjoy being able to delve into more abstract work than what I had been doing during the year at college. I also obviously love playing with as much colour as I can get my hands on! LOL
The series so far;

Insomnia Take 3

There shall be more to come - I have some more pieces that haven't been finished yet, and I shall likely start even more
Anyway, let me know what you think of them - criticism welcome!!
