I wrote the following in a note to hexentanz..not sure if I went to the right person or not here, so if you know please let me know who I should have sent it to.

Hi,
I am sorry to bother you, but I know you are associated with the help desk.
I was showing to someone the other day, how dA has a watermark so that way if people try to download it anyways (right-click) since I have downloads disabled, its ruined due to the watermark.
This is true only if you full view it. If you are looking at the small display, obviously there isn't a watermark and I felt like an idiot when I actually did download a mini version of my work, and that solidified my friends stance on how people can steal my work, or his sisters. I was trying to get him to get his sister to join, she is a photographer. Well needless to say, she won't be joining the community.
I have had associates on here asking me why people would download their writing or what have you. I told them people can't steal it if you do the watermark, well you can't have a watermark on the writing, and as stated earlier, people can still steal it, just a smaller version.
Now the writing, that's a big deal, not only can people copy and paste the poem and conveniently leave out the copyright and author, but there is a download option available. I don't know about other people, but I know I certainly wouldn't upload any of my writing here because its too easily stolen.
I have a feeling I have lost a good friend on here because someone..well 3 someone's downloaded her writing. I do have tons of poetry I have written over the years, that I won't display on here because I don't feel it is safe.
Several years ago, I created a book of poetry and supposedly this guy from my church was taking to a publisher friend to help me get published. I was alot younger then, and I am sure you can imagine what happened.
I won't upload my writings on here and I don't think anyone should until there is a better way to resolve this. How do you watermark a poem? It's impossible unless it is on dA's end, and even then when you can simply copy and paste, the watermark wouldn't show, it would just be a background and stay.
I thought my art was safe until when I tried to prove it was, and then I proved the opposite.
I was thinking one way to resolve this, would be like the mature content filter. You can't submit until you check allow download or no download.

I honestly don't mean to gripe and this isn't meant to be a rant. I do appreciate how wonderful this community is, but if I am gonna lose the few good friends I made over something that can and should be in place for our protection. I don't know how active I will stay. I really was set on calling this community my home...





I uploaded a footer the other day, which I intend to use possibly as a logo.

I created a new header graphic and wanted to check it out.

As for the computer situation, I am slowly killing my computer by asking it to do more than it should...but I will get a new computer eventually here. Once I do, then I will be able to render larger versions of the fractals that I do have saved for prints if any are wanted.

If there is a fractal you want a print of, just let me know so I can figure out if I have it saved to redo it.
