I am re-learning how SUCKY i am on the computer, i kinda hate digital and how weird my coloring and shading is on PS. I need to learn how to do clothes and skin without effing smudginnnngggg DDD: it's so funny in my drawing class my teacher ENCOURAGES us to smudge (WITH CHARCOAL MIND YOU) and i'm all "BUT BUT NOOOO" but then i get on PS and i don't know what else to do BUT smudge DDD:<

LOL IT WAS A BLAAAASSSTTTT!!!!! I love the little townhouse my dad's side of the familia shares it's like a second home and so peaceful. I also love the small towns that we had to drive through to do ANYTHING LOLOL it was nice and sunny and peaceful and just pleasantly alive. and we went to the beach and the pool every other day. It made coming back home so dissollusioning D: The city i live in is so strangely BLEH now and my home feels short and just weird. And the night sky out there is GORGEOUS, but now, back here it's like a light purple blue compared to the brilliantly black sky that was littered with stars. ;.;

ughhh i realize now how much i DISLIKE drawing via computer D:< lol i'm not the best as it is but then throw in tablet and you have a catastrophe XDDD ughh i love traditional so much moreeeeee.

But despite all of this i'm still pretty happy i think it's kickback from the vacation.

I need to get off my arse and actually re-start copy pasting that character group i was doing... the power went out when i had about half of it done.... well no not the power the circuit breaker popped (a common occurrence when two comps are on, a tv, lights, and a hair dryer >.> lol....

but when that happens you lose power to two bedrooms and the bathroom upstairs and the den (where our comps are located) until someone goes to the basement to the circuit breaker and flicks the switch back OTL it's a process....

babysitting is babysitting... made cookies today "yuuuummmm" and took him to aberdeen to run around in the sprinkler playground ...lulz which i decided should be named the spray-ground... |D lulz... he ran around the thing multiple times... for an hour! and then he played in the normal playground and there was a daycare group and the most adorable and sane (compared to the latter) bunch of kids i've seen in a while. ;v; and this one named Calvin decided to talk to me cause he was attention deprived i'm guessing... he was cute tho and drew me a little monster as his monster signature (he was pretending to be a monster) and then the teachers of the daycare came up and said the kids name and hi and do you remember me and he was like "no" and i FREAKED OUT ... for about a minute till they explained that they worked at his preschool he was just being forgetfull... i hope... and i saw an old teach of mine... which was nice cause i heart her but weird cause i hated eighth grade and she made me remember... DX

aaaanyway... OH but the kids 2 hucky dogs (which i lOOOOVE to pieces and i've humanized em and drawn em normal cause their adorable) flipped when i came this week (aaaaaw they missed me ...?) XD

The kid was of course testing my limits to see if i'd let him get away with crap (which i didn't THANKYOUVERYMUCH) BUT OHMY GOSH IT WAS AWFUL DDDDX and then he threw up at the end of the day FOR NO REASON. He had cereal, grilled cheese for lunch, ice cream, a caprisun, and a laffy taffy and then he barfed! all over the couch!!!!! DDDDDD: WTF! and i am sooooooooooo bad with people throwing up! i spent the rest of my day just calming myself down and reminding myself that i was not going to barf. And the poor kid of course just wants his mom but she can't come home till a half hour later and so i just try to clean up what barf i can and keep the kid near the bathroom just in case DDDX HORRID.
but he likes to try and be violent and nothing holds his attention... DX< so i'm gonna bring water balloons tomorrow and see how that goes but i don't know what to do with this kid.

then i had my first day of classes today. And my car has been comandeered by Betsy but i still got to take the van. ONE PROBLEM i don't know where the fucking keys are. OH MY GOSH I FLIPPED OUT! i was so stressed about these classes already and then we can't find the KEYS??????! AND BETSY'S LIKE "whut keys? i dunno where they are i haven't used em in forever" SO YOU LEAVE ME STRANDED WITHOUT KEYS??????????! AAARGH LUCKILY my uncle Don (who is an eternal sweet heart) was going downtown anyway and picked me up and drove me there and LUCKILY i had forgotten that the class started fifteen minutes LATER than what i had thought but OH MY GOSH not the best way to start classes. Other than that the classes seem alright... annoying with the overview of US gov. but otherwise pretty fine.... in the Us gov one i'm the youngest there by about a 3-5 year gap.... DDDDX

so though i'm sure only a few of you really noticed i was gone from Friday night to Sunday evening i went to my second cousins wedding (my dad's side is really close) it was awesome! i'm so happy for her and i really like her husband OH and then we got to spend an evening just talking to the Kirsteen/Whittle side of the familia. which is wonderous and i had a BLAST. They totally made me want to come back for irish fest! >8D Now they have me all hyped up for the family reunion!!!!!! >8DDDD cannot wait!!!! then sunday we visited dad's friend from his highschool/boardingschool which was DELICIOUSLY AWKWARD .... it was HORRIBLE and then dad treated her daughter and the lady was in the room with dad leaving Bets, Kate and me alone with the husband who REALLY didn't want to talk to us ( i could tell but common courtesy and all) but then we stopped in chicago (YAAAAAY) and went to borders (DOUBLE YAAAAAAY) and i got newest Tsubasa OMG *WEEPS* TvT so freakin painful but good CLAMP YOU ARE GOD. and 10 of Ouran and the third cafe... hommawassatboaufyhuiajf.... yeah.... XD and today i got the 120 SET OF PRISMA PENCILS!!!! HELLZ YES and 2 copics (skin tone and sky blue) and a new galaxy marker then i went to get an itunes card (this is all out of bday monneh) but i lost the monneh DDDD: T.T worst afternoon EVER (Dad has offered to replace it DDDDD; dad's so nice and mom was really nice about it too .) And now i'm listening to the second CD of the DNAngel Soundtrack cause lovely ted let me borrow it awesome but a slightly sad feeling to it all...

okay so I'm pissed not cause the lovely Decemberbliss caught my kiriban but that one of my drawings got moved. I've had this happen once before where i got some character ideas moved to scraps cause apparently the admin thought it was too crappy to be seen in a normal gallery? (lawl) But this time it was that i had 'It was late -Charas" [link] in the Traditional/drawings/people category and they decided to move it into the manga/anime/traditionalmedia/drawings category. Now i realize you might be thinking "WTF mel? You draw in that style; What's the problem here?" The problem is that i HATE that label. for some specific reasons
1. Non COMIC style people will blow it off (now i realize this is my choice but still)
2. SOME people associate Manga/Anime with Shoujo, big eyes, pokemon, retardedness and that's just annoying
3. MANGA= COMIC JUST IN JAPANESE.
ANIME IS A SHORTHAND FOR ANIMATION AKA CARTOON.
IT IS NOT A STYLE.
if there was a cartoon category i would be MORE then happy to place it in that category! Hell i think there needs to be a cartoon category WITH sub category's about WHAT is drawn not just if its PAGES or a DRAWING.

The fact is this whole thing is stupid. Even my reaction (yes i admit it). I understand the categories are there to make searching easier, and that they let you know good things (like if it's done in traditional or digital and stuff) but i HATE labeling myself and my artwork. BUT when i put something somewhere I (more often that not) AM FULLY AWARE OF WHAT I AM DOING AND WHAT CATEGORY IT'S IN AND WHAT CATEGORIES THERE ARE. It's INTENTIONAL. and having some DA official decide i was wrong for me just irks me to no end. I am not a "manga" artist. I am an artist. and i choose to be this. If you want to argue with me over styles fine, why the hell not, but don't tell me that i HAVE to put something in a category just cause they think i am. I will fight you till i pass out.

Oh so much and i don't know if many of you realize this. and i understand completely that you have lives and that getting to my small deviations takes time (i know the drill the pile up of art is excruciating to go through) and i understand that you aren't going to comment on EVERY SINGLE DEVIATION i put up. I get that and i'm so grateful for the few favorites that i get cause i know i get recognition.

but i want to know what you think.

you guys are so important, and hilarious, and wonderful to me. I'm so glad that each and every one of you watches and hopefully more that half of you enjoy my art. But i NEED feedback, and even just a few people reminding me that i am not posting to an empty room. I know i'm not the best at what i do but you all inspire me and help me grow like some of my friends at school can't (PEOPLE FROM SCHOOL ON HERE ARE NOT WHO I'M TALKING ABOUT) they have almost never seen this kind of work before let alone follow stories, and so everything is amazing to them. And while that encouragement is helpful for motivation and flattering, truthfully i want your opinions more. You can tell when a comic doesn't flow right, you can see what color combinations/anatomy attempts came out wrong and give me ideas for the future.

finally i am human and therefore seek attention and affirmation (AS WE ALL DO) and i promise to respond, usually with more information than you needed or wanted (hopefully not the last one but X);;;.)

so please please please comment. cause i feel like i've lost you all.
