Such is my life, I've currently found myself trapped in the vortex that is a heavy courseload in the middle of midterms with sport competitions coming up. Yes such is the life, I don't think I been this strapped for time since highschool, and frankly I think I'm enjoying it. I'm never bored I'm stressing a bit about excess of exams. The biggest downfall my art suffers... y'know more than usual. I really want to get back to it but I'm not even sure if I have enough time to sleep. I'm griping and complaning I know, (thank you to those of you who listen paitently and sypathize I greatly appreaciate it) I've been debating OCT's but I'm not sure if I can handle the commitment. ah well opinons are apreciated

hmm a point to this... probably not just need a bit of an outlet, and a distraction my chem text is giving me the evil eye.

But if I could get an awesome idea to set me in motion it might help

I got my new computer about a week ago and I've been busy updating and installing. Unfortunatley there were more computer ordering issues and I instead of getting the backup compie that my dad had ordered for me I had to find one in stock. I settled for a 17 inch Hp mainly for the reason it was on sale. I could have bought the same 18 inch my dad had ordered but I wasn't really sure that screen size was what I wanted. I was a little dissapointed though my resolution isn't as good as it was on my old computer which makes me sad. As a consolation my dad hinted at maybe getting me an HD second Moniter around Christmas, so for now I'm placated. I have dubbed my compie Boudiccia, for reasons you can look up on wiki, but along with saying goodbye to my old computer I had to say goodbye to my old tablet, which was in fact older than said computer. The oldschool wacom program was not compatible with windows 64 bit vista. I love my parents the minute this happend my dad went about buying me a new bamboo tablet, no questions. I'm taking it as an early birthday gift. I LOVE MY PARENTS

March 16 mark your calendars people I will be officially legal in all of Canada. Finally I can go out to the bars(without a fake)Yeah Yeah I'm still not legal in the states but I don't live there so Nyah!

Being back home has me browsing through all my old sketchbooks and really making me want to post a progression chart but that all depends on how quick my new compie comes.

besides that res-office are being assholes and my body hates me but thats nothing new.

I've ditched the possibility of getting myself a tablet PC because most of them are 12.1 inches and that is far too small specially since my current machine is a 17 inch.

The only solution I can think of would be to get myself a new compie but the problem is that is that I am currently lacking an icome and was going to wait till summer. I've always said my computer was a hand-me-down junk pile but it was a Working hand-me-down junk pile. Plus getting a new one to antigonish means I'd have to order it and that could take a few weeks.

It seems like yesterday that I had just entered $:iconinfractusfatality:$ and pit my skills against the best, as well as mades some awesome friendships with those artists. It still feels like I was waiting to graduate highschool and get a new life in university. It feels like yesterday I didn't have these holes in my mouth. (oh wait that was yesterday)

So a new year and things have changed I've gotten through my first semester of Human Kinetics and now I'm looking into Graphic Design. (go figure) Being the fickle person I am I still havn't come to a finite desicion but I will by the end of this semester.

so being the new year I have a few new goals

-run a half marathon by May 31st
-get a webcomic started by april (this one has been on my list for a few years now)
-figure out my future plans befor the end of semester
-enter and possibly win an OCT (currently EFN)

these are goals/resolutions/promises

ReviewTalonÂs writing is well done, easy to follow and his story is quite fluid. My biggest concern with this entry is it could stand to use more character development, I felt it was neglected a bit. The writing seemed very objective with no reflections on the characters thoughts. I donÂt know if this was an intentional writing style, but it takes away from the emotions of the plot. DonÂt get me wrong the physical descriptions allowed for emotion it just seemed like there could have been more. I must admit though his entry left me wanting to read some more.
Recommendation IÂd like to see a little more character development in your writing not only for your character but for your opponents as well. IÂd also like to see a longer entry, IÂm not going to say the quality of yours is bad because it isnÂt but I know you can write a little more and have it be just as engaging as this.

ReviewnwfairyÂs entry was good. There was good Character development and the fight was engaging to read. Would recommend though a closer attention to the characters that werenÂt hers, at times Talon seemed almost OOC. The creativity was appreciated though and the inclusion of commentary from those not directly in the battle gave the reader a different perspective.
Recommendation I think you could do a little more research on your opponents character. I know its hard especially in round one when there hasnÂt been much character development yet, but talk to your opponent, I donÂt think anyone would turn you away from properly representing there character.

Review An entertaining entry but a little fractured at times it can be difficult to follow what is happening. There was a bit of confusion seeing as the round started in the middle of nowhere I was unable to determine where it was taking place and what had happened in between the time when Dylan was knocked out and the start of round one. The ending also was good but felt as if there was supposed to be more.
Recommendation I know that procrastination is a demon of yours napalm but if you manage to get over it you could be a definite threat in the competition. A little more effort would do your entries a world of good. So my recommendation is NO PROCRASTINATION, and a little more fluidity in your comics.

Review A very original entry, I enjoyed how we get to see a different side of Jepix and debate his sanity from a different perspective. I did feel that the entry was a little choppy and I wasnÂt always sure of what was happening frame to frame. I think Dylan could have been represented a little better but otherwise characterization was good. I also felt that the ending was cut off, the hoboÂs note was cute but it didnÂt really make up for the unfinished bit of the entry.
Recommendation You could work on adding a little more clarity in each frame allowing the reader a better understanding of whatÂs going on. Also a little more attention to the OC your facing and keeping them in character.

Review Tsuchi-RÂs piece was creative and intriguing, but a few points required a bit of clarification, being a tad difficult to follow. There was a few choppy points in the writing mostly brought about by continuous conversation being interrupted by he said she said. There could have been more insight in the characters thoughts could help with some characterization. The ideas were great I loved the inclusion of WarrenÂs covering up the tournament. History: Wisp has lived a less than sheltered existance, bought and sold when she was young she grew up the pet of a spoiled rich brat. The young girl treated the young shifter as a dolly and wisp was never too fond of such a life it didn't take too long before her captor decided to remove her "ugly" iron collar to make her look prettier, this allowed her to escape and she's been living on the streets and in forests ever since.
Personality: a regularly cheerful girl, a bit vulgar, and not beyond immature humor. She has a tough personality, but its mostly towards people she doesn't know. Crafty, and vindictive. The girl can hold a grudge.
Weaknesses: Iron, it binds her and weakens her abilities, Shiny items cause severe distractions, she's got a bit of a free the slaves complex and an intense fear of being caged

As a fledgling he played music to entertain his patron until she finally got bored of him and moved on to another. Jordan was never too fond of the woman and was glad to be out of her home.
Personality: Pretty laid back and good natured. HeÂs adapted to his life as a Vampire but doesnÂt go out of his way to feed. A hellva musician, knows how to play most instruments with the exceptions of: fiddle, digeree doo, and penny-whistle (donÂt ask me why he always had trouble with that one)
Weaknesses: typical Vampire weaknesses, plus a real soft spot for sob stories and fellow artists

I'm working on my IF entry and I'm a making a flash storyboard (not an animation) and I'm debating whether or not to use voice actors. I want your opinions should I use VA's if thats the case I want people to audition. I'd thought about doing some of the voices myself but I think it might work out if I get other people to do them. (I'll only step in if I can't find anyone)

If you think I should then here are the voices I need

Valda older voice authoritative but not too harsh, angry very very angry (and emotional)
Sharkjaw rough gravelly but not so much so that you can't understand him
Mrii bored (kinda 'your hardly worth my time) younger voice not childish but younger
Monster lotsa growling and maybe barking or roaring
Zombies/undead undead and zombies running and screaming what more can I say?
Hospital Personnel I need two girls and one young boy voice specifically then just random hospital people
raccoons I know some one will want to do this one (I know I do)
Ominus this one may or may not be in the entry but its part of a SE that will happen after the battle
Julien I'm thinking polite a little higher pitch maybe british (oni correct me if if I'm wrong)

so if anyone has read my last journal entry I'm starting an OC tournament but I'm going to wait till September or October till some of the other OCT's die down I know have a title for this tournament and it is Licentia Vel Bellum latin for Freedom or War

I am currently on the lookout for judges to create NPC's and help me judge the tournament

I'm thinking of having a scoring system and two judges judge each match so there is no reason for people to complain that they lost or something this issue needs to be taken up with my judges (when I get them all) because they'll be doing the work

Alright since IÂve been getting some questions and the judges want to have some guidelines for their NPC so here they are

- the NPC must be on one side or another but that doesnÂt mean they have to be totally supportive of that side (yay for double agents)
- The NPC can come from any rank Nobles from servant to count/earl/duke, or even part of the army (which would actually be great because the army is holding the tournament), from the rebels they can be any rebel preferably from the higher ranks but that IÂll leave up to you
- For a military uniform IÂll leave design up to you (it depends on rank and everything) the ArmyÂs colors are green, silver, and black, for the rebels there is no uniform their style is more guerilla warfare
- There is (as of right now) eight spots for judges meaning there will be four rebels and four nobles so the first to contact me with what they wish their NPC to be will get a slot

Now there is argument amongst the aristocrats and the Rebels. The rebellion had rose up during Malik's rule and being a wise man he bargained with them, they would not throw the country in turmoil if his daughter were to rule after his passing. I've decided not to put this off any longer like everyone else I'm thinking of hosting a tourney
I've thought about it and was wondering if a good date would be july 1st (I'm hopelessly Canadian that way)
and I was looking for judges (and possibly prize donations or something though I am poor I will offer something if by then I can manage it will probs be a sub and commish and stuff as well as any other recommendations)

Before I start anything off I'll need judges I'm thinking about 6-8 ish because I'd like to conference with them to determine the full structure (I'm even wondering if July is too early D8)

Two fighters one supported by the rebellion one by the Nobels they will both fight and to the victor's side the country will belong, no questions no resistance. An amount of time will be provided to find or train a suitable fighter. Reluctantly the suggestion is agreed upon by both parties.

The rebellion is holding a tournament to find the strongest competitor to place into the ring all are welcome if they can fight.

but not only are the rebellion searching but so are the aristocrats, the Army is holding a similar tournament amongst its own men with the allowance of any suitable candidates who wish to be victorious. Throughout the tournament the competitors will be given the finest military training

so thats the basic story it will be elaborated later on

so I wanna know with all the other upcoming tournaments is this reasonable right now and would anyone be willing to participate? or judge? also is the due date good or do people want more time ask all the questions you want I'll answer them as I can.

That thing took away precious hours of my life that I'll never get back! i might as well get some amusement out of it.

now that the essay is done its time for finals (does it never end) this week is the most pointless week at school because all it is is unit tests and homework *grumbles*

on the bright side my ankles getting better, my coach won't let me play yet but I can run on it I CAN FRIGGIN RUN!! this is a big step since four weeks ago I couldn't even walk.
