A radio station's contest, where entrants competed for a Wii, has turned ugly.



January 14, 2007 - 107.9 The End, a North American radio station, recently held a contest dubbed "Hold Your Wee for a Wii" in which contestants were each handed bottles of water to drink every 15 minutes. The person who could 'hold it in' the longest would be awarded a Wii.

Shortly after the event, Jennifer Strange, one of the contestants, was found dead in her home, and a preliminary investigation found her death was "consistent with a water intoxication death."

"I was talking to her and she was a nice lady," said a fellow contestant. "She was telling me about her family and her three kids and how she was doing it for kids."

Nintendo was in no way involved with the radio station or its contest and this is the second recent death - following last week's news of a boy being electrocuted while attempting to charge his Game Boy Advance SP - that its products have been tied to.
