So, I was fortunate enough to go to Pratt over a part of my summer, as a couple of you probably know, with a focus on comic book illustration. I could have done regular illustration I suppose (since that's what I would like to be, an illustrator of some sort), but I'm glad I didn't, because it was an AWESOME class, ALL my classes were awesome, and if you want to read about trials and triumphs in an art school in NYC, click [link]. My art's going into a museum!

Oh my goodness, no joke. I'm very ecstatic and going out of my head at this moment. I just got the e-mail today; one of my large marker pieces is going into an exhibit at BMoCA (Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art), starting next May!

Any idea how good BMoCA is going to look on a resume? SCORE!!!

I'm a little shocked that it made it in; I spent a whole three or so hours on it. I finished it in just one night! >< I'm glad it's so big (3.5X3.5ft), that's probably a big reason why it got accepted.

Anyway, it's sort of a Beatles-pop-art looking thing featuring three of my original drawing figures. I'll post it...sometime.

In the meantime, I also found out that I got 100s on three of my finals so far. This is a nice way to start the break... I just have to get the bags and the redness away from my eyes. Those who've seen me lately, you know what I'm talking about; I look like a crack addict. Time to rest.

I haven't been doing much art lately; especialy digital-wise. Most of the stuff I've been working on right now is large-scale, on account of all these winter art shows coming into view. It's a lot of fun, but it's also really stressful! There's one that I really want to get into... I find out if I made it on Monday, and I'm trying to convince myself that I didn't get in. There's a good chance I didn't, you know. Comic art is not all that impressive. I'm setting myself up for heartbreak.

I'm working, somewhat, on a secret project called "M-TOA". What is this? Here's a hint; it's got nothing to do with anything in my gallary! Ah-ha!

Which is really sad, because I had a bunch of commissions going... I still have sketches, but as it turns out, my scanner is gone too. BUMM-ER.

Oh well, life goes on. So I watch Drawn Together... 'cause that Xandir is a silly bitch. ^^

My favourite of the bunch- it has smiple, clean lines that are really appealing to me. Of course, since I live in what could pretty much be called 'Hippyville USA', I love the peace theme... and since I'm myself, I love the contrasting themes too! And the wings rock. If this was a clean lineart, really nicely coloring, I might be tempted to but it on a t-shirt, or something.

Because... one of my friends is a complete fool (or a miracle, I haven't decided yet), and bought a pair of $200 "Sharingan" contacts for a halloween costume, and wants the coat to go along with it. Oh, and I got my wisdom teeth out. I didn't swell up or anything, though, so it all went pretty well.

I fidgeted slightly, making a vain attempt to hide it beneath the lazy susan. "It's... Fruits Basket. Volume 1," I said with a slight grimace. Totally busted. "I ordered it from the U.S. Wanna read it?"

"Mom is going to blow a gasket," she said, taking a step backwards towards the fridge. "You keep that crap away from me! I can't believe you're getting away with this. I mean, first," she started holding up accusing fingers as she spoke. I hated it when she did that. "You used to sneak into the basement to watch that stuff on TV. Then after they caught you, you started reading it on the internet, then watching it on the internet, downloading those videos..." She made a face, grabbing a small can of manzanita. "When did you start BUYING it?"

I drew a small circle on the tablecloth with my fingertip. "Just now. I won't buy any more!"

"You'd better not. Just promise me you won't start, like, dressing up..."

"I'll never, EVER cosplay! You have my word! I promise!"

So, school is back in session! Yeesh... I can hardly express how happy I am! I guess I'm one of those freak kids who loves being in school... but for different reasons, I guess. I mean, I'm a lovely shade of bipolar, so my brain tends to have racing thoughts. When I have nothing to think about, like in the summer... Eh, SUCK! It's actually physically exhausting!

And, and, I get to see a bunch of my friends again! Those who are still here, anyways... *pokes graduated buddies*

. Ha ha, now I'M it!

I'm actualkly quite proud of being tagged. It's a little depressante...

Okz, so for this game, when tagged, you have gots to write in your journal...

Sounds easy enough, let's get CRACKING!

1) I have the greatly annoying habit of biting people when I need attention. I don't know why, I don't know when I started, and usually, I don't know I've bitten someone until I blink, and understand my teeth are embedded in someone's shoulder (my favorite place to bite). Unfortunately, my sisters and a few of my close friends can verify this.

2) I was born with a fro of black, curly hair (hair is now straight and blondish). From the age of two weeks, I've been twirling my hair between my fingers. It was my very first 'motor skill', and I haven't stopped since. I twirl my hair while I talk, listen, eat, even sleep!

3) A little ways before three years old, I taught myself to read. I started with road signs, and made my way on to books. My parents had me tested, and while it was determined that I was a bright child, I wasn't a genius; I just really liked reading.

4) I used to be pretty skilled at a martial art called 'Judo'; I trained at two dojos (one was the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs) and was good at competing. I even made it was far as the Junior Olympics (I flew from my home in Mexico to Miami for that one!). Unfortunately, a bad back injury forced me into early retirment, and I am continuing with Physical Therapy. Which is REALLY FRUSTERATING.

5) I am a HUGE fan of fatty meats! Continuing from that, I have inherited an evil, life-long disease from my dad's side of the family, that allows me to eat whatever I want, and gain very little wieght (I ate ice cream twice a day, every day this summer, and only gained four pounds!). However, it's very, VERY painful. (If anyone's seen the movie 'Amazing Grace'...)

6) I am a POPCORN NAZI. NEVER use the popcorn setting on your microwave, it is a plot to lure stupid, impressionable young peoople like yourself into burning your popcorn! 1:46. That is the time you should use! I also never let anyone make popcorn for me, unless I'm watching the enitre time.

So, after about a week there, I come back here! Because you all care, I am about to recant my final day (July 20th):

7:30- Wake up

8:00- Breakfast

11:00ish- Get on a bus

12:00NOON- Dane Cook time!

1:00- Draw picture in friend's sketchbook

1:30- Create the S.U.L.K. (AKA, which manga character has the 'Suckiest, Unluckiest Life Kontest'.)

2:15- Arrive in Boulder, get off bus. Dad in New York, Mom somewhere else, find way to get self and sister home.

3:00- Realize that HPatDH is coming out at midnight, decide to go to Borders for it.

Watch tv, eat cookies, blah blah blah...

5:00- Write 'I AS/S' on my collarbone in Sharpie. Am currently all spoiled-up for book. Decide to WEAR a spoiler to the bookstore. Hoping it's not a true spoiler, as it's corny.

5:15- Go to Barnes an' Nobles, read some Eyesheild 21, Naruto, buy Loveless 1 & 2 for S.U.L.K.

7:00- Go home, get dressed, eat take-out curry.

9:00- Go to Borders, meet up with younger sister's boyfriend. Go to kill time buy going to 'License to Wed'.

A-hem. Worst movie EVER.

11:00- Go to Starbucks for Butterbeer and Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans. Buterbeer tastse like apple cider, I get dirt-flavored bean.

11:30- People watch all the crazy fans. Realize that this is my second HP-related midnight madness in the same month, that I am crazy, and that I have forgotten my homemade Gryffindor scarf.

12:00MIDNIGHT: Reliaze that we needed 'special bracelets' to get in, only availible at 10AM the previous day. DAMMIT.

12:30- Abort mission. I, sister, and said sister's boyfriend go home to Boulder without book.

1:00AM- Practice random, new anime songs on the piano, re-read Loveless.

1:30- Suprise visit from little sister's boyfriend. Has two copies of HPatDH for us. Got them at King Soopers. Place my copy on the kitchen counter. Eat cookie.

2:00- Dad comes home. Say hello (haven't seen him for a while). He watches 'Breach' upstairs, I chill downstairs. Computer not working.

2:30- Take a shower. Become bored.

3:00- Decide to sit and stare at my new book without opening it.

3:15- Read Loveless.

3:30- Force-sleep.

Fun day! Anyways, I've finished the book, and even though i knew the ending beofre it was out, I'M GOING TO SPOIL YOU ALL.

Hey friends, thanks for all of the great prayer support!

Last minute, monday evening, we bullied a doctor into signing my release form! So I got to go to Jamaica for two weeks! And mix cement! And pour floors! And totally wear myself out trying to play cricket with a bunch of local kids! Man, this enitre year has just been one giant ball of luck for me, I swear. It's amazing.

So, maybe I'll talk about that later. For NOWS, I am tired. I really never got a chance to rest... We were at home in Colorado for a day and one half, and I was WIPED. And then, I got put on a plane again. And I was like, "What?"

And my parents, they said, "We're going to Michigian to see your grandparents. Cool huh?"

And I'm all, awesome! Because I love my grandparents, and I love Michigian! So, I didn't really have a problem with being woken up at 5 AM, and packing, and going to the airport. But then they're all, "Okay, you're all set to go to Missouri!"

And I'm all like, "Dude, wtf?"

And they're all like, "Oh, we're gonna go to Branson first, to pick up some of your sisters. And then we'll go to Michigian, m'kay?"

And I'm thinkin' to myself, well shoot, I hate Missouri! (No offense to anyone you lives there and likes it... just don't invite me to your house, please.) So, I stayed there for a night (silently complaining all the way), we picked up my two youngest sisters (which brought to total up to four), and flew up to Michigian today. And this is the first time I've been able to journal... *relief*

I love Michigian much more than Missouri. Aw, yeah.

So, I'll park here for a week, then go home, then, it's off to Colo. Springs for a week! And then... whoa... then do I get to relax? What an odd concept... No updates until the end of the month.

BTW, I bought the cu-test thing at Gap Body the other day... and will NOT be posting any pictures of it online! But it did involve leopard spots... Ha ha ha... *falls asleep*

and a bunch of my other friends on a mission trip to Jamaica! We'll be building houses, working with childern's ministries, and visiting infirmaries. It should be fun! I love helping people in any way that I can, so I'm really looking foreward to it.

But first, I gotta get out of the country... Which right now, isn't happening.

Most people take those little 'health release forms' for granted; you take it to your doctor, and he signs it. It's not that hard. It's not supposed to be this hard to find a doctor who will sign my release form!! So far, I haven't found one. Apparently, I'm not healthy enough to go on a trip like this. I've already promised, no lifting, no digging, no mixing, no breaking things, no working (even though it's a work trip). I can do the little jobs! But it's Jamaica for crying out loud; we'll be in the mountains, with jostling buses, probably poor sleeping conditions, and I'm sure I can deal with that! But, there seem to be a lack of good hospitals there... so '[I] can't just go to a hospital if [I] get in trouble.'

Which worries me.

So, this thing has gotta get signed by tommorrow. Fortunately, it has to be signed by an MD, just any MD. And Lord knows I have PLENTY doctors to choose from...

We're on "Plan C", right now. I don't have a "Plan D" yet, but there's gotta be SOMEONE out there who will let me go. Right? Right? *nerves*

I mean, come on, I've already bought my plane ticket and everything!

And, it's the Bolder Boulder, people. The big race that's held every year. 10K, international professionals show up, 50,000 runners, yadda yadda.

Anyway, my scoliosis and arthritis prevent me from running (yeah, you read that right. I have old people's diseases.), so this year, I was a security guard! ... I'm not that imposing. I'm a teenager, weighing in at 119 pounds, and 5'4''. Not very impressive. But I can throw my small, young wieght around! Ha-HA! Anyways, I had been feeling sick for a while, and when I woke up on the morning of the race...

This is the gross part. I'm just going to warn you...

Well, I have a lot of different medical conditions, so on avarage, I take 30 pills a day. It's quite a cocktail. Many of them smell like garlic, and what do I smell first thing in the morning? Garlic. From last night's pills. And I could also smell rotting beef, fruit, and angel food cake... Which meant that my stomach had stopped working. AGAIN. (It's part of yet another medical condition) So, my lunch and dinner from the previous day were sitting in my innards, undigested, and rotting. Which HURTS. This is NOT something one wants at four o' clock in the A.M., right when they're going to go secure an internationally-acclaimed race. XP

Long story short, I smiled, and was friendly, and kicked people around if they needed it until nine... And then just couldn't take it anymore. My stomach felt like it was trying to eat itself. So... I bailed. XD And that's why I suck at this.

For some reason, I felt oddly compelled to share that with you all.
