Today I bring news of the coolest book ever made in the world, universe, whatever.

It's called Imagine, and it's a 200 page 60dpi art book that combines the work of practically all of my all-time favourite digital artists into one extremely nifty little book.

Ukitakumuki, HOON, Artgerm, Jujika, Kunkka and Miro are just the icing on the whole metaphorical cake that is the Imagine art book. And trust me when I say that this cake is going to be sweet.

We've seen it happen before - the infamous "Hamster Dance" Disaster - but this time... Oh, this time it's worse. Much worse.

There's a whole army of them. Obnoxious animated characters, each armed with factory made, 100% unoriginal bullshit dance themes and ready to invade your TV's, your computers, your houses and your lives. They're moving out already, systematically targetting and destroying the global music industry, wiping out competetition with furious propaganda campaigns, tricking the young and the foolish to join up and help spread the castophany that is their latest "product". Meanwhile all we can do is sit tight, locked up in our houses hoping that their cute, fuzzy army can't get to us here. And we sit, and we rock in our chairs, and we think to ourselves, "Fuck I hate Jamster."

Thankfully, food is no problem - the jet I was on happened to be lugging about a years supply of Peanut M&M's and Coca-Cola, all of which has washed up on shore. Talk about convenient. There was some healthy food too... Not quite sure what to do with it. Maybe if it dries out I can use it to fuel a fire or something?

Water's no problem either - if I ever run out of coke. I found a fresh water stream not far from the beach which seems fairly drinkable, apart from the piranas. Still, they act as a good rubbish disposal system - they helped a lot when I needed to dispose of the pilot's rotting corpse.

Well that's a very good question! Whilst I say that the cat and the menaing of life series is 'complete', there's still actually some more work i'd like to do on it. I'm going to go back, and touch up each of the artworks, before merging them into one singular piece for you all to enjoy

I'm going to take my time doing this, so the artwork will be as good as I can do, but expect it sometime within the next week.

After that, i'm planning to do a one-off comic, taking the piss out of my life and Lord of the Rings - all at the same time! It wont be as 'cute' as my cat series, but fans of Kazoo of Soup should enjoy the humor

After that, who knows?

So I'm going to quit.

My goal in life is to start up a Perth-based games design team, and university just wasn't going to get me there. Thankfully, the School of Audio Engineering, despite their name implying they specialise in sound-related stuff, actually have an AWESOME looking multimedia course, that should fully prepare me for something like my game team.

So, provided I can get some money together, that's where I'll go next year and likely the year after. Then? Then I'll be designing games. We were actually tryng to *seriously* invent a fan-manga of a story that could follow after the story of the Wind Waker, but apparently seriousness isn't our specialty as we started bringing up the idea that links new instrument could be a Kazoo with the power to control soup. Shortly after, I released this crappy - five minute drawing:

Soon after that, with people literally giving me death threats to draw more of this crazy idea, I decided to turn it into a comic - but not just any old comic - this would be a comic with a difference. I came up with this idea to do a 'Flash Comic', which has the layout of any other comic but has animation in every frame.

I set out to work on the first comic - being a n00b at flash, it took a while to get things done, and I made a lot of mistakes, but progress was coming along nicely. However, it was getting late one night when I had almost finished, and I decided I couldn't wait any longer... as a teaser, I released my favourite few frames from comic one as a random stand-alone piece titled 'Link got pissed'. Apparently a lot of people liked this one, as I'd never gotten so many favourites before (current count - 103):

It actually got a heck of a lot more attention than the finished comic once I'd uploaded it:

Of course, I made some horrid mistakes with that comic, and the final layout was awful. It also got removed by the DA admins for 'being in the wrong gallery' because itwas a zip file with swf's in it, rather than a straight swf

Apparently the popularity's dying down over time - perhaps due to me never posting new comics, but never fear - the comic does go on, even if I haven't posted a new one for over a month and a half now.

The reason I'm so slow with them is as follows -

for a start, I'm lazy.

Secondly, I'm a full time university student.

Thirdly, these first few strips all take place in Links house, with only link and his grandma, which is getting a tad bit boring to draw and colour.

Fourth, I'm a man of many projects. I do concept art for a HL2 modification, I often practise realism in my spare time, I have about 5 songs/pieces of music I'm currently working on, and again, I'm a Uni student. And I'm lazy. I also have problems finding motivation every now and then - heck, until last week, I'd barely drawn for months

Regardless, KOS does live on, and more strips will come as soon as I finish this 130 page report...

Why, you ask? Is it possible that there's no reason at all, other than making you look and feel dumb? Well, normally, yes. But today, I want your fingers crossed for a different reason - I need you all to wish your arses off that I *don't* get called into work this Friday...

You see, work haven't called me in two months... I've been available every day in that time, and they just haven't called... However, it looks like there's a chance they might call me for friday - and considering this is my LAST weekend of holidays and I have some prior commitments... well, this is just one night I just realllllly don't want to work.

Problem is, apparently their reason for not calling me is that I say I'm busy too often. Frankly, that's crap. I work over 90% of the time and that's great considering half the time they call at the last minute. However, it does give them a great excuse to fire me if they've decided they really don't need as many staff as they have, and I'm worried that if I say no again I'll lose my job.

Technically I'm thinking about leaving the job soon at any rate, so it's not such a huge worry if I get sacked, though I could really do with some money (considering I've been broke for the two months since I last worked) - AND - my dad works as a higher-up where I work, so it doesn't really look good for him if I get fired, and I don't wanna dissapoint him

So anyways! Here's hoping I'm not called in to work! And that my boss doesn't read my deviantart journals!

Saturday - got a much better version of my mixing software, and for some reason my Guitar-to-PC software suddenly started working properly - before It wouldn't let me hear what I was playing whilst I was recording... now it does. I also started work on my latest and greatest tune - but it's still not near enough to completion for me to show you guys yet ^^

Sunday - Kept working on the mix, got and offer from a fellow musician to work collaboratively with me on it, which is great, considering his skills.

Today - Got a free upgrade of my Guitar-to-PC software, giving me even more freedom with distortion and effects than the original version, which is awesome

So yeah... A break from art for now, until I get past my roll with this mix

I'll upload it somewhere and post the link when it's done, so all you guys can tell me whatcha think

- Create personal website for Kazoo of Soup and other personal projects - should be interesting!
- Comment on DA for once, instead of the unfortunately common "select all - mark as read" routine
- Drink coca cola on a daily basis, never see the sunlight, develop strange photosensitive reactions to natural light and forget how to actually speak english due to lack of practice in social situations
- Encourage the other Aussies at gaia to consider me a "regular" though I only ever post there once a year...
- Carry on working on my animation project... that'll take a while
- Design more stuff for the mod
- Finish about 50 tunes I've been working on this year
- Compose new music for the mod
- Miraculously survive
- Obligatory threesome with Japanese twins

So yeah, if you feel like I'm neglecting you, it's probably not on purpose... it's just hard to comment on absolutely every deviation that comes through my watch.

For this reason, I'm going to have to clean it up - somewhat unfortunately - by being exceedingly critical and only leaving the best and most inspirational artists in there, aswell as a few who I'm watching grow.

But now, that doesn't seem fair, does it? HELL NO! So I've invented a back-up plan!

woke up 5:30AM,

got to train station at 6:30,

caught train at 7:10, (40 minutes wasted)

got to Perth station at 7:30,

caught train to bayswater at 7:50, (20 mins wasted)

got to bayswater at about 8:10,

Caught bus to Idol auditions at 8:50, (40 minutes wasted)

got into the actual venue at 9:00,

waited in freaking cold air for hours,

photographer comes up to us at about 9:40, talks to "us guys" (me, Mladen, and Fran) and asks if he can take our photo for local newspapers.
Apparently "our" excludes me I mean, I knew he only wanted pictures of Mlado and Fran (who were dressed hella funny), but then he should've just been talking to those two and ignored me, right?

Kept waiting in line for ages,

Standing next to Mladen and Fran (all three of us in a line) when James - Channel [V] presenter and Idol host - comes up to talk to "us" at about 10:30. Once again, "us" excludes me - he litterally interrupted us in conversation, and stood infront of me, pushing me out of the way so he could talk to my friends without me in the picture at all. He then proceeded to make awful jokes in an attempt to be entertaining and funny... He failed. He also got a spatula confused with a ladle - what a knob

Kept waiting,

at 12:00, James was filming random shit nearby again - some guy in the crowd yelled out to take a picture of james with his mobile phone, and ended up getting filmed as a result - so I pull out my phone and ask him if I can take his photo... sure my phone doesn't actually have a camera, but ohwell. Instead, he just told me that they'd stopped filming, but would be back to me later on. 2 minutes later, he's off filming some random other people for a few minutes, before leaving and *not* coming back.

At 2:00, a radio station - 92.9 - decide they want to talk to "us". I just walked out of the way straight off that time, knew they didn't give a shit about anyone other than Mlado and Fran,

10 minutes later Channel 31 decide they want a piece of the action, and go to film Mlado and Fran. Once again, I'm pushed aside. Mad fun

2:50 we FINALLY get let into the indoors part of the place. I thought there was only supposed to be maybe 20 people or so in there at a time, but I guess I seriously underestimted that, with the que in-doors being bigger than the que outdoors.

You know how it is, you get to the stage where everything just seems absolutely freaking pointless, and the only ones that understand are the scary people with nothing better to do than read peoples Journals on DA. I did an awful drawing wednesday, haven't drawn since - I'll try to get submitting again soon... I need a good night's sleep first, haven't had one in a few days, and I'm not sure how long it'll be before that changes... I'm one of those people who really *needs* their sleep, especially with allergies and other shite that make me even more tired than natural most of the time, so yeah, when I'm missing out on even more sleep than usual you might aswell count me as dead. Add that to my usual fortnightly depression, and you have a pretty lifeless-feeling artist right here...

I miss my parents, too. They've been out of the country for the last few weeks, but thankfully they're back soon... I look forward to their cooking again, and then they can look after the dog in the morning, and I can get back to my sleep-ins

Never realised how much I depended on them

Well, I mean, I *can* live without them, but meh, chores just really aren't my thing, y'know? Save it for the parents...

Anyways... I'll hopefully be back to normal soon ^^

almost 6,000! I was going at a rate of maybe 1,000 every four months, now I've just gone up an extra 1,000 in two days! The number of people watching me went from 80 to 120 - that's a 50% increase - I'm going nuts with this sudden boost

So what I need to talk about is Self Moderation - now that my fan-base is suddenly so much larger (still not huge, but big enough for me!), do I still submit the same kinda things I submitted before, or only the best of the best? Should I still submit my sketches, or should I only put up my finished, worked on, coloured pieces? Should I still submit WIP version of Ink drawings?

A few days ago I had about 75 watchers... now I have like, 115, maybe? It's absolutely insane, but you've all DEFINITELY inspired me to put all I can into this comic of mine, and I'll try my hardest not to let you down!

I'm just amazed so many people share the same sense of humour and love of Zelda! haha, I know maybe 2 people in real life like that, apparently there're a lot more out there ^^

Thanks again for all the... the stuff! haha. I was gonna make a thankyou picture, but suggested that maybe a bigger thankyou would be getting a move on with more kazoo of soup, so tonight I start work on the second strip.

I just haveta point out though, that although I'm being very productive lately, that's mainly due to a short break I have at uni - I go back tuesday, and I'll probably lose a lot of my motivation and time for art as soon as I get back - But regardless! I'll still try to stand by the "atleast one comic a fornight" deadline I've given myself

I did each individual frame in different flash documents, thinking I'd be able to import all of the swf files into one finished, big swf, for the full comic.

I've done EVERY FRAME INDIVIDUALLY like that now, little did I know that ALL ANIMATION IS LOST when you import swf's into other flash documents, and they become pointless, crappy, non-moving pieces of SHIT.

so yeah.... It's there, each individual piece works, but I can't put it all together.... Ah fuck it, I'll just post a funny frame or two from it until I figure out what the heck I can do to save this comic... 12+ hours of sketches/colours and animation down the drain!? I think not...

I've written what's probably a little over half of the story - roughly 20 decent pages of comics, and everything's going well. It'll probably end up at about 35 pages not including random extra mini-comics I'll throw in every now and then (it seems short, but it makes sense once you see how I'm doing the comic...), though there may be more - you never know - and if all goes well it shouldn't take more than a year from start to finish. Worst case scenario should be one comic a fortnight, so yeah, it's all good.

I know that seems kinda slow, but you gotta keep in mind that
a) I'm a slacker,
b) I'm a uni student,
c) I have another comic at the same time (you know, mass hysteria?)
d) Comics aren't the only type of art I do in my spare time, and
c) Art isn't my only hobby, I spend a lot of time with music, too.

But yeah. As soon as I finish the story for it, I'll start work on Kazoo of Soup (well, I'll need a website, too, but I'll worry about that later!) so the wait shouldn't be too long; say - a month?

Okay, fine, i'll be a little more sensible. I'll draw guys or girls, though i can almost guarantee that i'll draw a chick better than a guy. I'm not great at drawing overwhieght or just generally rounded people, though i could probably use the practice at it ^^. If you want to be drawn *well*, i'll need a nice, large photo-refference to work from - preferrably a reasonably artistic photo - note; standing stiffly, looking and smiling at a camera is *not* generally artistic

I'll only do a large/detailed drawing if someone has a photo that i feel i'd really enjoy drawing, so don't be offended if i don't draw you, i can be kinda fussy and indecisive at times. And trust me, being those two things at the same time is kind of a scary thing

Regardless! If i don't chose you for the main drawing, i may still do small sketches of some of the other people, so don't be discouraged!

That's about all i can think of... anyone wanna be drawn? ^^
