I believe deviantart should open up a section to allow deviants to sell art to the public but the artist themselves will not recieve profits. The only thing paid for is the postage and printing etc.

The profits that normally would be recieved should be sent to the Deviant Art from the Heart foundation or what not. When crisis arises deviantart can be there to support.

Okay I've been working with a couple other people on a new community called Offlife. It's focus is entertainment. It will offer reviews, articles, chat, forums, music, and games. I plan to release it officially within the next 2 months. It's coming along rather well and it has been my current project that I've been working on for the past 2 months . Doesn't look like I have but trust me a lot more goes into this than one thinks! Everyone reading this is allowed to join. I dont want anymore than 70 members before it opens though . So yeah. That's what I've been up to!
