So, I've traded in my board shorts for jeans during the day, one of the first real signs we're headed into winter. The night has more of a chill to it, too. Or at least, a chill in tropical paradise terns, which would probably seem like perfect vacation weather to around half the globe.

I've been on holidays for the last week and a half and have until Wednesday. It's been utter bliss. I've been running around wearing myself ragged with work, putting in around 150% every day. I'm recognized occasionally, but every now and again something happens to remind me I'm now working for a corporation, a large, heartless, inflexible, money-hungry corporation. Which I can live with; I have my birdroom, I have my workmtes, though of course things always change. Karolyn is soon to leave us to pursue her vet nursing dreams, which is awesome for her, but I'm sorely going to miss her crazy sense of humor and her directness in dealing with everything and everyone. Jen's still there though, laughing and complaing with me as she tries to keep her fishroom afloat (pun not intended, all fish prices rose, some a LOT, and we've lost a lot of customers there).

Enough about work. All my pack are going well. Zeke's started to slow down, his slightly malformed back ankles developing arthritis early as all the vets warned he would. I'll have to keep an eye on him this winter, I've got easy access to all the new joint formulas, at least.
The birds are doing well. The finches didn't breed much this summer which I'm pleased by, it's was too hot for them to be sitting for that long. We actually had a great deal of rain early this year, fellow Aussies doubtless saw the flooding in the north on the news, around the same time as the Victorian bushfires occurred. We managed to miss the worst of the rainfall and my city only had minor flooding, thankfully.

James has already been collecting birthday presents for me, more than a month early. I've already got the Beauty and the Beast DVD (had been looking for it for months) and copies of Wolverine and the X-Men - I'm sure we're all familiar with my eager, rapid-like appetite when it comes to anything X-related. These ones were apparently my 'early birthday presents'

Two days ago I went to take the rubbish outside and was set upon by a tail-wagging menace. A little black and white staffy cross pup licked and nuzzled and basically climbed into my lap. She was wearing a collar with a 'spoilt' tag but no number. Naturally I couldn't just leave her roaming around the streets so I took her out the back to meet Zeke and Jayne. She said hello, had a meal, a drink, and settled in to play happily with them both, haven't heard a peep form her since then. I've got adds in lost and founds and with the local radio stations so I'm hoping someone will call about her this weekend. Its incredible to think someone might -not- be looking for this outgoing, sweet-natured little dog. Wish me luck.

Good news on the insurance front. Looks like they are going to pay up, or so they'll told James, so it's just a matter of waiting for a cheque now. We'll see how many weeks THAT takes them, hmm? James can get the parts cheap enough and get some workmates of his his do the repairs for me, pricing the repairs for Seren (my car, see previous journal entry for crash details) at around $1000. Supposedly the insurance is going to pay nearly three times that (That's Seren's current value, as the insurance do not wish to fix her themselves and instead call her a write off!) so if it all goes ahead that'll be pretty freaking excellent. Plus I'm waiting on the $900 stimulus package from the government which should be here next week (I think) so the Gathering fund is about to get a pretty awesome boost. James and I have been madly saving for out long-planned trip to America and now we've actually got a bit of money it's looking closer than it ever has.

Life rolls on. I've been helping Shell out setting up the City Warriors RP boards, it's quite fun playing around with Proboards' newer tools! Also been working on my Impossible Creatures fanfic. IC is an excellent, amusing game based around combining two animals into one to use as a battle unit, and it's proving a lot of fun to write. Interested parties will find my fic here:
[link]
Oh, and you all should check out a friend's awesome IC fanart of wolf-cougar hybrids and frog-purcupines!
It was my early day off, granting me freedom an hour an a half earlier than usual. At four I called goodbye to my workmates and drove down the road to the big shopping center there. It's such a coincidence, my early day co-insiding with my payday. So I collected a little junk food and some of those odd household items that build up and rarely remember - some new cutlery, new shower curtain rings, tea towels - and within an hour was on my way home.
Now, I'm a pretty cautious driver. I don't speed. I don't cut people off. The general population of Townsville are absolute morons. Sarah, who spends much of her time driving around Sydney (one of Australia's largest cities) and Canberra (a city of politicians and where pot is legal) . So I'm a very wary, very cautious road user.
After negotiating the main river-side road lading to my suburb, I had just turned onto the street which ends with a turn into my own street. As I approached this turn, one of those inane, souped-up cars, actually painted an attractive, eye-catching blue, emerged from my street and immediately whipped into a U-turn, heading back into it. I thought no more of it as I turned into the street after him, following as he crawled along at 10ks below the suburbian limit, than: 'This guy looks like he knows where he's going.'
The next intersection along was a T-intersection on the left. Slow blue car flicked on his left indicator and I assumed he was turning left into the side road. I continued past as he when into the road, not bothering to speed up since it was no more than a hundred meters or so until I reached my own driveway. "Good," I thought "Mr Tourist is turning off."
My front bumper was probably about adjacent to the kerb shoulder when I spotted the motion out of the barest corner of my eye, and had that instant for my mind to click over to "Dread!" mode.
Then the blue ford, the driver of which had decided to do another U-turn, to the right, (yes, after indicating to the left, yes, after I'd followed him along the entire road) and smashed into the rear passenger side of my car.
Though I'd seen him coming it was literally at the last second and I hadn't had time to swerve. The impact threw me into a quite terrifying spin, me by now standing on the brakes which screamed wildly, ending with my nose pointing back the opposite way.
"Fuck." I spluttered hoarsely as I slid to a stop, my fingers clenched around the soft fake-fur cover over my wheel. By the horrendous sound of the crash itself I knew my poor car had been damaged. I wasn't too worried about the ford's driver since he had already driven his car over to the kerb. I shakily angled Seren (my reliable little toyota corolla) in the direction of the kerb behind his car and emerged. I was already shaken from my spin but the instant I saw the giant dent that had basically crumpled my rear passenger side door the shock caught me and I found myself sitting on the kerb beside my car. Luckily two men from the house opposite had seen the whole thing, and a lovely lady called Sue ran over form across the road to sit with me. It must have taken ten minutes before I could actually stand up again, with Sue and the two men looking after me the whole time. The driver of the ford was a man in his forties who seemed utterly dodgy, apologizing in a nasal tone 'Sorry, that was my fault, I just didn't check.' (No fucking shit, you wanker.) He wrote down his name (One of the two pen brought out paper and a pen and basically made him) and address for me and I did the same, but left my phone number. He said 'Oops, forgot to leave my number' and proceeded to write one in. At Sue's urging I wrote down his registration number, and she assured me she would back me up if needs be that the guy had admitted it was his fault, since she had been there to hear him say it. I obviously wasn't the only one getting a 'dodgy' vibe from this guy - which only increased when I went over to check the damage on his car and saw there was a sleeping two-year-old in the back. How he'd managed to sleep through that horrific sounds of the crash and my brakes i have no clue.
While I was sitting hazily on the kerb he'd been trying to put his car back together, but most of the front bumper section had fallen off. It was one of those souped-up lowered jobs, obviously a flash car. Well, not anymore, something I took satisfaction in. This idiot didn't want to look before doing a freaking U-turn, let his car suffer.
Unfortunately Seren had suffered, though I was physically fine, just in a bit of shock. The door was badly damaged, and the hub cap from the rear passenger wheel had gone flying. The good news? As soon as I got home James was getting it all sorted out with my insurance company - because I am not the one responsible, I don't have to pay a thing and my insurance doesn't change. The asshole handles it all. But Seren's in to appraise the damage tomorrow, hopefully it is...

Hey all, hope things find everyone happy and well.
Been busy around here. After nearly a month of rain James is back at work and doing long hours to make up for all the missed jobs. Petbarn is much the same as ever - my pay keeps getting continuallty stuffed up and in need of fixing. I work the same amount of hours every week, yet they can't get it right. We've got lots of great hand-raised birds in right now though - a really friendly bunch of cockatiels, they're sweethearts. Bailey, the blue quaker, who's such a little snuggly guy. Mango, the sun conure, full of beans and with a very vibrant personality. And Cam, the massive sulfur-crest cockatoo, who is a real clown. He's only a year old (in a bird that can live to a hundred this is basically a toddler) so is full of micheif. He likes to play catch with an empty roll of tape - I offer it to him and he grabs it and throws it back, though he often manages to toss it over his shoulder! He loves to peak at you from under his wing, rip buttons of shirts, and keys off a keyboard. He's very cuddly, too, loves to have his head and under his wings patted - he will actually lift up his wing to be patted! If I have him holding onto the front of my shirt, he has to have an arm wrapped around him and have a big cuddle. As Karolyn, who runs the puppy section said, he's more like a dog than a bird!
My own pack are doing well, though my new young cockatiel Storm isn't weaning well. Her breeder and I fear a bacertial infection so I've started her on a course of antibioticss - aside from the fact she still wants to be hand-fed constantly, she's happy and healthy.
Sage, my kitten, is growing up fast and had his last vaccination the other day. He's as crazy as ever, chasing stray socks all over the floor and ambushing James and i in the hallway.
Did a big toy-swap session with all my birds the other day, re-did their playgym and basically spent a few hours with them, it was great.

In non-animal related news I had the most vivid dream I can ever recall having last night. James and I had gone on holiday on this massive yacht. I should have known it was a dream because it was unrealistically huge, as in cruise-ship size - the top of the mast was often hidden in the clouds! But we visited this beach, and it was just... so incredible. I've visited a dozen islands in the Whisundays and Great Barrier Reef and none of them looked liek this place in my dream. Pristine golden beaches, bluer than blue ocean, lush greenery growing up to the shoreline.. (another red flag I was dreaming, since many lush green plants don't deal well with the salt water/air and don't grow that close to the sea!) I have the odd feeling wherever we were in the dream is a real place, an island I've never visited. Maybe someday I'll find out - I'd recognize it instantly if I came across it, it was just so clear in the dream.

Meanwhile, Townsville is on alert for another cyclone. Currently TC Hamish is sitting off the coast from Cooktown, which is a good half-day's drive up the coast from us, and not moving very fast right now, but these things are unpredictable. It's only catagory 2 now but the predicted path takes it right past Townsville - and the thing with these things is they can swing round and cross the coast basically at anytime. It's meant to pass us right by on Sunday, but will likely be upgraded to a Catagory 3 by tonight so at the very least we'll get storng winds and lots of rain out of it.
Anyway, I'm off to go secure the yard and outdoor animals, just in case. Take care all!

Oh, will have a bunch of new photos uploaded soon, keep your eyes peeled!

Which is, for the sake of non-fans, the final Futurama movie. I hit Video Ezy this afternoon because they usually have new released two days before the actual release and don't mind selling them, a thought that kept me going through a long, slow day at work. Sure enough I hunted it down and triumphantly returned home. James enjoys Futurama almost as much as I do and after watching the final bit of Jurassic Park we'd started the previous night, we settled down to Wild Green Yonder.

I remember sitting down to watch the first of the Futurama movies, Bender's Big Score. It had been a few years since the show was cancelled and the rabid fans refused to give up on it. I sat down and I felt the power of it - a show the people behind a desk somewhere decided wasn't doing well enough and killed it, and here it was, revived. (I feel the same way about Serenity!) And I heard the familiar Futurama theme song, bouncy and revamped, and I had so much energy I nearly climbed the walls.

Green Yonder was like that. Futurama as it should be, excellent laughs, sweet moments, palm-raised "what the?'s" , and a kickass storyline.

But then, I'm probably just content because Fry and Leela got a happy ending, and we all know Chris has a big fat SUCKER stamp on her forehead when it comes to happy endings.

I don't care. They're happy. I'm happy. The world spins, and I rejoice. And try to drag my butt outta bed in time for work in the mornings This is made increasingly harder as I try to split my evenings between James, pets, online buddies, writing, watching old episodes of Dawson's Creek and playing games of Red Alert 2. It's a tough life, but someone's gotta do it!

[i]I don't want a lot for Christmas, there is just one thing I need... [/i]

I knew, from the instant I dragged myself out of bed and called hello to the birds, pleasantly surprised to find James had stayed a little later than usual and was on the couch to reply to me (The best I usually from the birds is a flute from Calypso and whistle from Cloud, echoed by Georgie, the 'tiel I'm birdsitting at the moment) that the day was going to be action packed. There was no escaping that.
Pre-work routine was the usual whirl of changing waterbowls, dealing out fresh fruit and veg, laughing and Sage's crazy kitten antics, and trying to fend off my idiot pair of dogs's eager morning greetings. On the way to work was no better as I had to hit a local shopping center to get cash out for petrol and a bit of finch food, and due to the mad Christmas Eve rush to buy last minute presents, I had to park roughly four kilometers from the actual ATM. I was panting from jogging and the already low 30's heat by the time I got back to the car.
"Morning kids. Going to be a busy one." I warned my birdroom in cheerful greeting once I'd avoided the manic drivers and gotten to work in one piece. I wasn't kidding - Christmas Eve is our busiest day of the year. People are no smarter about planning ahead with pet food than they are about buying milk and bread. Shops closing for two entire days could almost equate a national emergency in this society, I swear.
I managed to hide in the birdroom frantically trying to get the morning water and feeds done before the rush began. I just made it.
Another whirl of registers, customers, avian advice and taking any hostile customers off the casual's hands later I was finally, at half-past-one, panting and scoffing my cake and freddo lunch in the tearoom, enjoying a pleasant customer-rant with Aiden. The big bearlike casual had graduated highschool earlier in the year, and though he was polite and a fair employee, would much rather be out celebrating with some mates instead of wrestling the rabid customers Christmas Eve seems to spring from nowhere each year. He didn't mind lending a hand with me in birds though and I set his muscle to good use speed-cleaning four aviaries.
Jenna, who runs our fishroom, retained her boundless, politely sarcastic cheer and kept me laughing as we exchanged grins and eye-rolls in the aisles running on one customer enquiry or price check. Brad, youngest of our permanent crew and of the opinion the more swearwords one crams into a single sentence the cooler one is, was his usual self, full of complains and muttered curses absolutely no one of us ever paid the slightest bit of attention to. There was no occasion with Brad, he could always be relied upon to react exactly the same way no matter what day of the year.
Dave, the assistant manager, was his usual half calm half dodgy self, ducking out for lunch and leaving me in charge (something I have no wish to be even on a non-busy day) but easygoing and simple to deal with the rest of the day as per the norm. Emma, the casual looking after the pups for the week our permanent puppy girl Karolyn is away, spent as much time cleaning the puppyroom, doing paperwork and avoiding customers as subtly as she could - who could blame her. I swear annoyed customers single out young casuals to rip into them - like THEY have any idea when the next load of Breeder's Choice will be delivered and why we didn't receive the right brand of guinea pig food. Trent, the last of our young casuals, a shy, slightly lazy, typical teenage male, spent most of his time in the fishroom as usual, occasionally deviating into my birdroom to see Toffee, the latest of my Alexandrines. Toffee is an outrageous flirt, wolf-whistling very clearly to anyone who comes near him before starting a tirade of mumbled words and various others whistles. A real show off.
Susette, our part-time groomer, was luckiest. She has the excuse of booked-out grooming sessions to spend time in the grooming room and avoid the madness out on the floor. In any case, brusque and with a sharper tongue than a viper and twice as much venom, anyone daring to get snippy with Susette would find themselves very, very firmly put back in their place. In fact they'd probably still be digging themselves out of the hole they dared to dig for cover next Christmas. Susette is possible the scariest person I know, and one of my very favourite workmates. Susette is no bullshit - plain spoken to the extreme.
Such was my workplace Christmas Eve, ending on a very high note of laughter and teasing (mainly at Brad's expense) and shouted well-wishes for the holidays. They're a good bunch. I'm fond of the entire crew, and as bad as it gets sometimes we're a team. We pull through the mad rushes and the storms together.
Stopping for petrol on the way home I waited patiently in a line of about six while a harassed cashier around my age took cash...

So, you all should see this movie.

It's... I don't even know where to begin. Complicated, in plot and in description. Let's just state I'm not a Batman fan, everyone knows I'm a strict Marvel Girl, but this was an impressive movie. A little predicable, but I find that with nearly every movie I watch these days, I'm able to snap up the clues and put together about half of the big picture. As soon as I noted Rachel's link with not only Bruce and Harvey, but the link with the bag guys through her job, I had her fate picked.
Acting was simply brilliant. Aaron Eckhart does himself proud no matter what role he's in, retaining an air of quiet passion and determination; whatever he does he puts his whole heart into it. Harvey Dent with his dramatic reversal from Gotham's 'White Knight' to a dangerous villain was done beautifully. As a note to anyone with a stomach as queasy as mine... well, just be prepared for the first time you see him after the fire. That, for the record, was some the best effects I've ever seen. If you didn't know any better you'd swear Aaron only had half a face.
I haven't seen Bale in much before now, but his expression and the way he did the gravelly Batman voice did wonders to endear him to me.
The other powerful thing about the movie was it's score; I wasn't surprised in the least to see Hans Zimmer as the composer, I'm convinced this man is one of the biggest musical geniuses of our time. (If you're not as fanatical as me, he also helped compose all three Pirates movies, Spirit, The Lion King, Pearl Harbour, and the list goes on).

And then of course, there's Heath.
No matter what type of character he played, I was always going to be filled with regret the day I saw his last completed film. He always seemed so cheerful, so undeniably Aussie, always with a ready smile and always giving himself wholly to the roles he played. He captures the Joker more perfectly than any villain adaption, rivaled in my eyes only by Sir Ian as Magneto.
The mannerisms, the voice, that [i]laugh[/i] that I know is going to follow me around for days.
What I didn't expect is the thought that popped into my head during his first scene at the bank.

It's sometimes said of recent movies that it's all been done before, that there's nothing original left. That's why there so many comic/book adaptations being done, or sequels, or remakes.
This thought probably wouldn't have entered my mind if it weren't for the crowds, unbelievably crazy, that flocked to see the movie. Four days in and our session was still sold-out, the theatre packed, and it was playing in two rooms. The first two nights James and I tried to see it we didn't have a hope, sold out the first time, lines spilling out the door the second.
Supposing someone involved with the movie decided to kill one of their leading actors, knowing it would bring flocks of fans to see his last ever movie? Well, there's something that's never been done before.
I immediately told myself what a morbid thought that was, and how unlikely it was.
And yet... and yet there's a small, sad part of me that admits the possibility. It might have been what happened. Making it look like someone had died of an accidental overdose or prescription drugs would be easy enough, right?
I know. It's awful. It sounds like something out of a conspiracy website. And yet that part of me that admits it is possible won't fully let me forget it.

Urgh. I think that's enough, since it's quarter past one at night.

NOTE: I am currently having trouble with The Sims. The main image (people, cats, whatever) keeps going very flickery, almost dissapearing, making it impossible to take screenshots. This is why I've put a hold on my refs for now. Once this problem is fixed, I'll resume them. Apologies for the delay.

~~~
So, I've decided to do up some visual references for the cats of Erin Hunter's wonderfully engaging series, Warriors.
Here you can find links to each ref (which I'll try my best to keep updated!), contact me in regards to specific details of the refs, ask me questions, and learn a little more about the project.
I will be going through the books in a fairly steady chronological order, so the cats featured in the first arc series will come first, then the New Prophecy, Power of Three and so on. I'll feature every cat listed in the table of alliances section for each book.
Now, as with any series with this many characters, details aren't always crystal clear and even sometimes contradictory. I'm going to do the best I can with what I've got; sometimes this means little more than a best guess.
I encourage anyone with specific details on the cat's colouration to contact me by leaving a comment on this journal, so I can keep track of them all. By this I mean if you can tell me the book and page number in which the text makes mention of a physical feature, I will be most grateful! Eg;
Into the Wild, Page 32, tells us that Spottedleaf 'tucked her black-tipped tail over small white paws'. This is useful information to my references! Any I miss, please point out to me!
Notes.
Tortoiseshell cats.
From real life, I know these cats to be a mix of black and red, with little or no white on the body. Only when the cat is mainly white with red and black patches does it become a tortoiseshell-and-white.
In Warriors, there seems to be some confusion over these two terms, namely that there is little or no distinction. Both Spottedleaf and Tanwypelt are referred to as simple tortoiseshells, but Into the Wild indicates Spottedleaf has at least some white, and Cats of the Clans shows Tawnypelt as a clear tortie-and-white. Unless stated, my tortie refs will largly retain little to no white on them.
FAQ
Q - How do you make these references?
A - I use the create-a-family tool from the Sims 2: Pets.
Q - Will you do cats from other clans aside from Thunderclan?
A - Yes, but since Thunderclan remain the main focus in the books, they will usually be done first
Q - Will you do kits as well as adult cats?
A - No, simply because the Sims simulator doesn't have an option to custom-built kittens, only adults.
The Refs:
Firestar - [link]
Redtail - [link]
Spottedleaf - [link]
Lionheart - [link]
Tigerclaw - [link]
Darkstripe - [link]
Whitestorm - [link]
Longtail - [link]
Runningwind - [link]
Willowpelt - [link]
Mousefur - [link]
Dustpelt - [link]
Ravenpaw - [link]
Sandstorm - [link]
Graystripe - [link]
This one stolen from   They never end! This one is finding the soundtrack to the movie of your life!
So, here's how it works:
1.Open your library (iTunes, Winamp, Media Player, iPod, etc)
2.Put it on shuffle
3.Press play
4.For every question, type the song that's playing
5.When you go to a new question, press the next button
6. Don't lie.
Opening Credits
Maroon Five, Won't Go Home Without You
Ok, clearly the movie of my life is a romance, then? At least the song is upbeat!
Waking Up
Robbie Williams and Kylie Minogue, Kids.
*groans* Seriously? My Waking Up song has the line 'Jump on board, take a ride (We'll be doing it all night!)' and is basically a song about a pair of wild cards having a one night stand? Ooo-kay.
First Day At School.
Matchbox Twenty, Bright Lights.
That sorta makes sense, it's a song about moving on to somewhere new and not belonging.
Falling In Love
Edward Mccain, I'll Be
Hmm, despite the fact this is a beautiful, romantic *sounding* song, one of the lyrics is 'I'll be your love suicide'. Romantic, eh?
Fight Song
Brian Adams, You Can't Take Me from the Spirit soundtrack.
Ha, that's apt. Clearly I' ma stubborn fighter
Breaking Up
Goo Goo Dolls, Iris
Hmm, the tone of the song sorta works, since it's a song about loving someone you can't have.
Prom
Ben Lee, Into the Dark
*laughs* Upbeat Prom!
Life
Backstreet Boys, Inconsolable
Apparently I'm going to spend my life chasing people I shouldn't have?
Mental Breakdown
Chilli Peppers, Dani California
Kay, a song about a Mississippi girl who dies in California... I see the link...
Driving Far Away
Invertigo, Chances Are
You know, that works, although this one's more about everyone being unique. I think I used this as a song for Steel.
Flashback
Hunters and Collectors, Holy Grail
Mm-hmm, so I'm flashing back to being in the army and searching for the Holy Grail?
Wedding
Mika, Happy Ending
*snort* A song about how love never results in a happy ending... what a wonderful wedding song! Hope it's not a premonition. *snicker*
Birth of Child
Chasing Cars
If the birth of a child is as peaceful as this song, I'll be happy!
Final Battle
Sydney and Vaughn's theme
*dies laughing* Ok, you guys have to go listen to this, you'll find it here: [link]
I mean, could anyone HAVE a more innapproiate song for a BATTLE? It' one of the most melodic, harmonious pieces of music I've ever listened to!
Death Scene
Mortak Kombat Theme
Ah - in this case I must have been killed in my Final Battle, no? What a song to die to!
Funeral Song
Johnny Rezzic, I'm Still Here
Creeepy. I'm dead but still here. Apparently I have some powers of resurrection?
End Credits
End Credits from the Serenity Soundtrack.
*dies laughing* Whgat are the odds?! I love it!
I want to see this movie!
Ok, now the new videos. They're both set to Paralyzer - I know, I'm obsessed, but that riff is just killer even if the guy can't claim much actual singing talent.
First up is the Spirit one, because I'm also obsessed with horse paces (Trot, canter, gallop, those are &#039aces' for those of you less horsey than I am) set to a good beat.
[link]
Secondly there's the Mortal Kombat movie video featuring my favourite MK couple (who have never been 'confirmed' as a couple but remain branded so in my eyes) Johnny and Sonya. He's an egomaniacal wisecracking movie star and she's a completely kick-ass female FBI agent, on quests of proving combat skill and revenge, respectively. I love chemistry.
[link]
Lui features in many of the shots, seeing as how with me being the main character, you don't get to see much of Johnny and Sonya without him there.
Hey all!
Well, my birthday went quite well this year. I worked - can't recal lthe last birthday I had off work  - and once again the birdroom was decorated with balloons and a banner so that all the customers could tell it was my birthday! There was cake and a box of chocolates later.
After work it was off to mum and dad's for an absolutely delicious roast dinner. They got me some new car seat covers. They're nice fake fur ones but very boring, I'd kinda wanted something with a nice pattern on it with my habit of individualizing everything I own. Grateful little shit, aren't I?  My brother got me a toasted sandwich maker (Yuuum, I love toasted sandwiches. Plaain ones, naturally. I put plain rice in them if I'm being adventurous) and James got me the best presents - a Tidus figurine and a solid silver version of his necklace! [link] (It looks like that but shinier )
Been a little sick lately, but I'm kinda enjoying having a few days off work
Oh, if I'm slow to respond to comments you've all left, it's because Sash has left me about ninty and I'm slowly working through them as I have time
Chris is stealing quizzes again! Well, this is more like a guessing game. You put your music player on random and post the first line from the first thirty songs that play. Then, without looking up lyrics on Google, you guys guess how many you know!
Thanks to  *nuzzle*
1. I hold on so nervously, to me and my drink, I wish it was cooling me.
2. Everybody, yeah, rock your body yeah, Everybody yeah, rock your body right.
3. (This is my time) Oh, at times I felt like I had lost myself, cause people try to make you someone else.
4. I'm the son of rage and love, the Jesus of suburbia.
5. You can't take me, yeah!
6.  Me with the floorshow, kicking with your torso, boys getting high and the girls even more so.
7. If I fall along the way, pick me up and dust me off.
8. Hold up, hold on, don't be scared, you'll never change what's been and gone.
9. (Er, what do you do for an instrumental? It's the theme from Love Actually  I might try again! Oh, for crying out loud, Serenity's end credits. *snort*) Hell is gone and heavans here, there's nothin' left for you to fear, shake your ass come over here, now scream!
10. I am unwritten, can't read my mind, I'm undefined.
11. Commin' out of my cage and I been doing just fine, gotta gotta be down because I want it all.
12. (We're doin' this!) I look around me, and all I seem to see, are people going nowhere, expecting sympathy.
13. When dreaming, I'm guided to another world, time and time again.
14. She got outta town, on a railway New York Bound.
15. I asked her to stay, but she wouldn't listen, she left before I had a chance to say.
16. Can anybody find me somebody to love.
17. (Now it's Homeland from the Spirit soundtrack. Take two...) You told me you were looking, so why should I look at you that way?
18. (Hallo, hallo, hallo) Wakin' up at the start of the end of the world, but it's feeling just like every other morning before.
19. (Oh, so high) Woke up this morning from the strangest dream, I was in the biggest army, the world has ever seen.
20. I hear the wind, call your name, it calls me back home again.
21. Breaking my back just to know your name, seventeen tracks and I've had it with this game.
22. I've been looking for a driver who is qualified.
23. I may not always love you, but long as there are stars above you.
24. So long, you gotta go, I pushed the door against your shoes for too long.
25. Well you think that you can take me on, you must be crazy.
26. Today, is gonna be the day that they're gonna throw it back to you, by now you should've somehow realized what you gotta do.
27. I want you to want me, I need you to need me.
28. (One, two, three) Well I wake up to a sky so blue, with my girlfriend in the other room.
2...
After much urging from Dark O I agreed she could pick an anime and I'd watch it. (Not being a fan of the genre at all). She told me to find Princess Mononoke, a task that seemed near impossible. James, a couple of anime-crazed workmates, and my brother had never heard of it and various searches turned up dead ends. Finally, after an online search of one of the video chains in town I discovered they had it!
So then I had to actually find it in the video store. I drove a total of 57 kilometers yesterday, scouring three different video shops (Although in that distance I went to work and back!) without any luck. So today when I got off a little early form work I swung by the video shop I used to go to when I lived at mum and dad's... and it was there.
Yes, Dark O, I've watched it! Thanks for the reccomendation mate, but I'm afraid my opinion of most anime remains, and unless I find any morte as excepional as this one, I won't go seeking any more out
It's quite well worth a watch, but me being the sentamental fool I am... was rather dissapointed by the ending. But I enjoyed the wolves a great deal. It was very engaging all-round.
In other news I made a killer video with Spirit, set to Paralyser. I'll upload soon!
1. Panic at the Disco's Nine in the Afternoon
Ah, a happier, belt-it-out-at-the-top-of-your-lungs song could not be found. I love everything about it aside form its length - it's short!
2. Sara Bareilles - Love Song
This took several times hearing it on the radio before it grew on me. I went to see Made of Honor (Hi-larious, go see that after you've been to Iron Man) and it was in the soundtrack. Now I can't seem to stop singing that, either. Quite feel-good.
3. Finger Eleven (er, weird band name or what??) Paralyzer
Now there's nothing special about their lead's singing talents (or lack thereof if I'm being bitey!) although the lyrics are interesting. No, what makes this song amazing is the wicked guitar playing. I mean, the main riff of this song is easily the coolest thing I've ever heard played on a guitar.
This song makes me think of Flint *chuckles* Sometimes a song with enough raw energy just reminds me of a specific character, and the mood of this song is just very, very Flint-y.
Oh, and I'm also convinced that whatever song you look up on Youtube, you can find it set to a Final Fantasy X video. I'm deadly series, too.
Not as good as say, X-2 (What is?) but easily on par with Fantastic Four or Silver Surfer or even perhaps X-3.
So a little more of the happenings around here, and we may as well start with the bad news...
Three of my guinea pigs were stung by wasps over the space of two days, and none of them made it. Both my boys, Creed and Collosus, and my last remaining original girl, Jean. I'm really going to miss them all. Creed had such personality, Collosus was the biggest and possible the most gentle guinea I've ever owned, and Jean was simply, Jean. I'm really sad I never got the chance to breed from either male, too. I was goign to match Creed and Phoenix together and get beautiful cream and gold babies out of them... now I'll never have the chance.
Onto better news. Apparently my reputation as the work softie is now sufficent enough that my regular customers know about it. One of them brought me a little scarlet-chested parrot [link]
Who couldn't fly and was having difficult in their aviary. So I've now extended my avain flock with the addition of little Dante. He's never had much handling but I think he'll tame down with patience. He's a stunning little fellow, but will never be able to fly - he's missing most of his right wing, basically from where the elbow would be on a person and all the feathers that should have been attached to it.
With the mention of work I've had a bit of a promotion. I've been 'acting' supervisor for a while now and it's simply an offical title as of next week. I'll be a keyholder and have access to the safe and have to close up and all the offical supervisory stuff.
Basically what happened was Debbie, the girl in the office, was offered a better job. She's been getting a heavier and heavier workload since we became a Petbarn store, and she accepted. Kathy, the assistant manager, offered to take Deb's position in the office, so she stepped down as assistant manager for that. So Dave, the current supervisor, will now be assistant manager and I'll be taking his position.
Wit hthe release of the new Futrama movie I've dipped back into a full blown obsession with the show, and having been watching Youtube vids and reading some awesome fanfics over the last week. I'm also very into Farthing Wood again and am planning a little fanart when I have everything unpacked. We're in the new place now and nothing feels quite so much like freedom. The bathroom still needs the vanity put in and the house in general needs little cleaning up and finishing minor jobs before we can start properly unpacking, but I don't care!
The birds are happier now they can be out whenever I'm home again. The dogs are happy to have their own yard, plus there's a river within walking distance where Zeke can swim! I'm happy my animals are happy.
At work I've switched onto my new shift of Friday to Tuesday, letting me work the weekened and have Wed/Thurs off. I'm a big Fry/Leela fan too, naturally, it's simply awesome to have more of a show I love. *squeees*
Eeep, and I'd better go to work! *flees*
Argh, I had the best time at the Backstreet Boys concert! I was in the SEVENTH row from the stage, it was absolutely amazing! They opened with Larger Than Life, and went through their old classics as well as heaps of stuff from the new album. Each of the boys also did a song from their solo albums, Howie and AJ's of which haven't been released yet. They left the stage after Everybody, returnnig after two minutes flat of solid cheering to encore Shape of My Heart. I had an absolutely blast.
Another hour-and-half flight brought me to Canberra. It's awesome to see Sarah again, we went to the zoo yesterday afternoon, then to see Juno in the evening, and today we're off shopping for my wedding dress!
Ava is an aboslutele cutie and heaps of fun. I can't believe how much bigger than her photos she looks!
Oh, and since I seem to recall Sarah sneaking into my account (I didn't log out of it!) and editing my journal last time, anything else written here or silly stuff that seems out of place will be written by her. *smiles sweetly*
He mentioned he had a house he wasn't sure weather to rent or sell.
Jan mentioned he had a valuble employyee looking for a place to rent.
We just saw the house. I love it. Not highset and a little smaller than our last one but pretty, neat, tidy, and entirely, utterly livable. It's paradise considering some of the places we've been applying for. The fence is brilliant, six foot wood slats, set back from the sidewalk. The dogs will love that yard. There's a little tiled area in the main room for the birds. The bedrooms are even aircondiitoned and even though it's slightly further out of town, it's only by another ten minutes or so and it's massively doable.
I feel so much releif right now I'm a bit woozy, almosy lightheaded. Now, in just ten days, at this very hour of 8:30, I'll be watching my beloved Backstreet Boys live. In just 11 days, I'll be with Sarah, laughing and laid-back, going to the zoo and browsing racks of wedding dresses.
Now I really can't wait!
Our (former) house has been sold and we pretty much had to leave. Finding another rental property is a nightmare, and James and I - plus the animals - are staying at my parents where we're all being driven nuts. I had to sell most of my guinea pigs, leaving me with seven. I also sold the mice. Smokey, after surviving having his wing ripped off by a rat, finally let go the day after we arrived. I miss that couragous little canary.
I also lost Lightning, my fourteen-inch Ghost Knife, who I miss more than I would have thought for a fish. He jumped out of the net as I was transferring him to a bag. He died later from the shock. Brad, one of the boys form work, is looking after my fish for me while I'm here as there is no room for the tank. The filter died along with most of my fish, but it's Lightning I think I will miss most.
Work celebrated Australia Day today. There were a half-dozen stalls outsaide - Delta Dogs, the city council, the budgie club, greyhound adoption, and puppy and kitten adoption stalls. It wasn't much of a celebration inside though - it's Riley's last day. She taught me so much about birds and I'll miss her, and her experience, so much. She's a forth-year at Uni this year, studying to become a doctor, and has too much placement to continue her job. I know she's going to make an absolutely incredible doctor... but I'll still miss her.
I'm also saddened by Heath Ledger's death, I always did like him as an actor.
Back to work tomorrow, but I get Monday off. (public holiday for Australia Day). Desperately hoping we find a house this week and that things will get better. In the meantime, I'm focusing on the positive things - my Canberra trip and the Backstreet Boys concert next month, Stardust coming out on DVD, taking the boys to the park, wedding plans.
Wish me luck, guys.
Head is all messed up with my thoughts going in a circle. Sorry if this doesn't make much sense.
One of my baby finches fell outta the nest a little early. Was very weak, and when I got home early this afternoon I fished him out of the aviary and fed him some mix. Little guy was hungry all right, gulped it down. Was still really weak though and died an hour later. Pretty little white fellow in a clutch of three greys. I know there's weak ones sometimes, last-hatcheds not strong enough to get as much of the food, but I feel like I failed him.
I mentioned to some my canary Smokey got attacked by a rat. He roosts at the side of his cage and they grabbed him by the wing, gave him some nasty bites, then broke his leg. Poor little guy. I bathed his wounds, and at the start I thought he'd die. Wrong, he picked straight up after a few days, and is still eating like a horse, going strong on his good leg with his bad wing tucked up high.
So today I was examining him again. I almost keeled over when I lifted his stiff little wing, in fearing they'd broken it as well.
There was a hole in him. Under the shoulder joint of the wing, hidden completely when it's down at his side. And when I say hole I mean HOLE, about the size of a five cent piece. I could see his poor wing ligament and the bones and some of his tiny little organs.
...
So much of that is unbelievable and even writing it doesn't help me believe it. First of all how he lived in the first place, with so much shock. Second of all how utterly strong he is despite of it, how much he wants to live. Thirdly... how did I MISS THIS?!?! IT'S A HOLE IN MY POOR LITTLE CANARY THAT I NEVER NOTICED FOR DAYS AND DAYS AND DAYS. What sort of a responsible owner misses that?!?! How can I look after three hundred birds for the store when I miss something some huge and neon and flashing and obvious in my own pet????
He has to be suffering. Not only is the wing almost certainly broken... there's... hole...
My poor Smokey. I don't know what to do. Half of me argues he so strong and he still has the will to live I can't give up on him, same way I can't give up on any life. The other half of me begs to do the responsible thing, end his pain.
I'm a big bawling mess at the moment, I don't know what to do.
Lots of little things been happening. Christmas has set in along with the wedding plans - I decorated at work but not at home, as the possible move is still looming. The house hasn't been sold yet, but there's open houses once a week and people traipsing in and out between them.
James and I met with our celebrant today, she's full of fun and energy and jokes, I liked her a lot. Definately a good choice for us, I think. With all the paperwork and everything comming up, plus the inviations brought and hopefully being sent out next week if I get organized, it's all seeming very solid and real and large all of a sudden. I'm getting MARRIED.
It's the work Chsitmas party tomorrow night. Most of you know how much fun I had last year, and I'm really looking foward to it. This year, we got to dress up as our favourite movie character. I've spent the last two days making my costume and I'll give away only this as a clue:
[link]
I promise pictures ASAP, I'm so proud of this crappy costume
Wajas is finally comming back online with the ability to breed. Lots of glitches and lag but I'm happy anyway.
Brought the new Horsez game to find out the gorram stuffed-up computer won't run it properly. Right now nothing's affecting James's WoW, but as soon as it does I can assure you he'll reboot it  Hopefully tyhat will fix my problem of not being able to play and videos. I have taken some of my pets wit hthe digital camera I want to edit up a bit, and I miss my passtime of making music videos. *sulk*
Anyway. Must get to work on Christmas present pictures for the US gang. If you guys have requests post away!
1) Resisting a highly tempting urge to throw the computer over the balcony, I wrestled once more with installing programs and my MSN is FINALLY working again and I can chat to you all. Now you just have to get online, because I miss you all and I'm lonely.
2) The owners of the house James and I are currently renting have decided to sell and would prefer us out my Christmas. Moving... again...
3) Instead of finding another rental place James and I have been looking at buying a house, as Dad has agreed to... er, I think it's act as guarantor for the loan and offer his house up in place of a deposit? (Incidentally, the thing I might be most grateful to my parents for doing, outside of feeding me as a baby) You know me and I have no idea how these things work, but I think that's the basis of it. The condition is my brother, if he can afford it, will be moving in with us too. Which in my eyes is not a condition at all, as if he is given a room with a power sockets he will plug in his computer and never be heard of again. In the meantime: Chris the Houseowner!!!
4) James and I have been forming plans for the wedding and after we speak to the bank Friday are going to look at a couple locations. All outdoors of course, does anyone see us getting married inside a building? No concrete plans yet but it's all very real now and making me twitchy and nervous.
5) James is being a complete know-it-all about getting a home loan, insisting we will never be able to afford repaying anything over 300 thousand and he would prefer to get less than that. Bear in mind he knows about as much on the topic of home loans as I do. I am not asking for a palace, far from it, I just want him to stop jumping to conclusions about money until we have solid answers.
For anyone who's interested, we could just get a decent house and block of land for three hundred thousand dollars that if we were lucky, wouldn't need work. Anything cheaper than that will be a godsend but probably very much in need of renovations. Not that I mind that. I just... don't want to go ruling lines when we've go no idea of figures.
6) Work is much the same as ever and my life seems to have settled in a comfortable pattern around it, as follows for the dedicated:
Sunday: Back to work, stupid alarm. Spend the day basically prowling from one end of Aussie Pets to the other directing weekend casuals into the fishroom or into dog food; keeping an eye on my bird department although I trust Aaron and Mikarla with it; answer the phone and reply we close at four thankyou, roughly eighty billion times. Tell various customers: yes I'd love to buy some Gouldians; no, you're the tenth person today to try and sell me ringnecks; no, sorry I can't repair the damage you did idiotically trying to saw your cocktiel's wing off, take it to the vet. Do refunds, organize lunches, various supervisor things in the middle of all these activities. Remember to take lunch myself at about 2:30. Stop a slut of a customer stealing a bag of dog food as she leaves the store twenty minutes after four. Happily bitch to Kathy about the slut and compare views on weather Jan will hit the roof (They're already buddies, he and the slut in question) and ban her form the store when he hears about the stealing.
Amusing incident of the day from work: Aaron
(Note, he is an outspoken, confident seventeen year old with a great sense of humor and a wide lazy streak, and I suppose fairly good looking in a very young type of way)
Me: 'Can you just put some fresh seed into that little cage - Aaron, is that a HICKEY?'
Aaron: (Trying not to laugh as I yank his collar aside, staring at his neck.) What? Ah, it might be. Chole (One of our crimson-wing parrots) has really sharp claws, you know, and I have sensitive skin... (ignoring the fact I double up with laughter at this statement)
Me: (In hysterics) Might be? The fact you don't KNOW if it is or not is worse than having one, you realize?
I got a lot of amusement out of that. Aaron is like a cocky little brother, but I seem to put a lot of emphasis on the 'little' part and forget he is finishing school this year, and in fact forgetting the things I did at his age...
Moving on. Mondays.
Yay, I get to take any owned time today! I spend the morning happily hiding in the bird department, fussing over the hand-raised birds who haven't seen much of me in the last three days, straitening every to my own little pedantic likes. Also catch up on any customers I was meant to ring on Sunday and never had time. Leave in the early afternoon and spend extra time with my animals, James and online. Whoohoo, happy!
Tuesday, stupid alarm. Oh well, half-way through my week by the end of today. Hi Jan, these four hundred and twelve people called for you over the weekend and these three staff members messed up a...
I was driving home from my mum's place half an hour ago, along a quiet suburban street with no streetlights, dimly lit only by the glow from people's houses and my own headlights.
Half-way along the road my instincts went berserk. I knew there was something wrong as I braked, and swerved slightly, completely on instinct. As my boot stomped the pedal and my hand pulled the wheel to the left I caught a glimpse out of my right eye of it standing motionless in front of my car.
A long-legged red spotted cattle dog cross, staring straight at me, its hind end on the other side of the road and its forequarters on my side.
I don't think I've ever been so close to a heart attack.
I missed him. We're not talking 'Whew, THAT was close - let's be on my merry way' type of close. We're talking inches. INCHES. As it was I didn't swerve enough to miss him (only about a foot and I was still inside the left outer line on the road). If I hadn't braked I would have still clipped him even with the swerve.
I couldn't believe it. Some moron, letting their dog wander the DARK GORRAM STREET which is, by the way, off a FOUR LANE major road, even if it is a quiet street overall. Some irresponsible, thoughtless, moronic excuse for a human being, putting their dog's life, ever driver on that road's life, at risk.
I pulled over to the side of the road, trembling, and managed to turn off my lights and engine and stumble out of the car, clutching my keys tightly enough to leave indents in my palm. The dog had fled to the verge, and I couldn't get near it, he barked and ran away from me.
Too shaken to pursue him, I stumbled back to my car, leaning against her for a moment before climbing in. Couldn't stop shaking or crying the entire way home. I was so utterly enraged and terrified.
So I get home and jump online and on wajas to take my mind of things.
There's a WAT message waiting in my inbox. Thankyou for your $45 donation!
WhatThe???
I spent the entire day at work. Then to mum's for dinner without coming home.
I wasn't even online when this donation happened! I wasn't even home!!!
It certainly isn't wajas' fault. I found my paypal receipt and checked my account and yes, I did make a donation for $45 US dollars. WHEN I WAS NOT HERE.
Now, I'm not worried so much about the donation (I will definitely use the CWP) but the fact it was unauthorized by me really alarms me. I changed my password and immediately removed my bank account details form paypal, but my major problem?
I had $10 in my bank account yesterday morning. The withdrawal would have come close to $55 Australian dollars.
I get charged like, $30 for overdrawing my account. I don't get paid til tomorrow so I'm sure this has all already automatically occurred.
I have a home loan, a wedding, and a trip to America to save for, let alone bills, rent and animals to upkeep. I can't afford random fees and charges that aren't factored into my weekly spending limit.
ARGH, so pissed with paypal and with stupid fucking irresponsible animal owners right now. I've already mailed paypal. Tomorrow I'm going to drive along that street and if I see a red cattle cross in a backyard, their owner is going to get a serious earful on responsible dog ownership from the Rebel Wolf.
Like how UTTERLY FUCKING DANGEROUS IT IS TO LET A DOG ON THE ROAD AT NIGHT YOU STUPID PRICK RWWWWAAAR.
Just... still shaking. Argh. So don't need all this.
Good stuff: Work gave me and James a congrats card for the engagement, signed by like EVERYONE, and some of the messages we so sweet they almost made me cry.
Mum cooked an awesome dinner that was delicious.
I have James.
Two more days til my weekend and peace for two whole days.
Just in case everyone's wandering what's happened to me:
If's offical, Aussie Pets is now PetBarn. We've even been added to their website. We'll trade under our old name until in all likelyhood early next year, when we'll chnge the name/uniform/computers and all that good stuff.
I've been made a full-time supervisor, on top of managing the birdroom as usual. This is mainly due to the fact PetBarn's policy is to have two people close up, whereas before Dave stayed by himself to do it. I understand the reaons behind it, Aussie - PetBarn - is in the industrial area after all and probably not the safest place to be alone after dark. So now I stay a little later each day, counting up the registers and making sure everything's closed up. Work has become long drawn-out panic this last week or two; everyone tense about the sale and meeting the new PetBarn folk. Their merchandiser seems nice though, we used to breed finches and he hates driving manuals so we've got lots in common
On the topic of finches, my zebras BRED! I have at least three grey-fuzzed little baby finches! Weirdly enough they're being looked after by a pair of apparently gay males, and niether of my girls pays the nest much attention. Long as they're being looked after, I'm not going to queston it!
I'm worried Jan's thinking about moving back down south. He's never been fond of Townsville and now we're offically PetBarn, he could probably get a transfer really easily. He's a grumpy old bastard, but he's OUR grumpy old bastard and he manages the store really well... the last thing the rest of us need is a new manager. I hope I'm being paranoid.
James and I had our fifth annerversary yesterday. There was no chance I could take the day off work, didn't even bother asking, but we drove up to the rainforest at Paluma today and swam in a very cold crystal creek. We're havign one of our movie days tomorrow, with Evan Almighty, Underdog, and at long last, Stardust on the list!
MSN messenger won't let me sign in as I need a new update first. New updates get stuck on the download at 88%. Grr. Working on it.
Fodd's ready. Take care guys. *nuzzles*
Sometimes the very sound of the Backstreet's Boys gentle, familiar voices are enough to bring tears to my eyes.
"Want to hear about my new sci-fi story?" I asked James, keeping an eye on the familiar road ahead. I'd taken this route into town enough now to become comfortable with it, and now the plotline of my newest although still unnamed novel was mapped out in my head I was in high spirits, wanting to share it with someone.
"You have a sci-fi story?" James replied blankly, as if I'd told him I had started growing an extra set of arms and a tail.
"Yup. Set in space." Some of my excitement had drained away at his less then stellar response. He'd been in a bad mood since coming home two hours earlier, grumbling he hated to work Saturdays because it only gave him one day off, which was ruined because he had to work again the next day. I can never understand why you'd spend your single entire day off dreading the following day. To me, the act of sulking about the next day, not the next day itself, would ruin the day off. Apparently, my natural optimism is far from contagious. I was enjoying this night in itself, content with my new novel idea and eagerly anticipating the movie we were going to see. Work tomorrow morning was distant.
"That's a limiting genre." James stated. I raised my eyebrows in surprise. "Limiting? No way. You can create entire worlds." I protested. To me, that's the complete opposite of limiting.
"But it's hard to do well. There's just not much room left for it." James insisted, dismissively. He stared out the passenger window.
My hopes fell. I returned my full attention to the road. "Thanks for the encouragement." I murmured sadly, and pressed the volume button on Seren's CD player to let the lyrics of Afterglow drown my disappointment.
Too late to steal the show, long time waitin' for the afterglow...
When the hell did HE become an expert on science fiction? The closest thing to it he's ever read is Harry Potter, so apparently seeing all the Star Wars films and being addicted to World of Warcraft makes you an expert on the subject nowadays. He's read HP, Lord of the Rings, Narnia when he was about eight, and constantly reads this war novel about the Romans over and over. You can count his booklist on two fists. You couldn't fit the ones I've read in this year alone into one room.
I shouldn't have hoped, really. He's never shown much interest in what I'm working on, weather it's my writing or my roleplaying or my artwork. After five years I should be used to it. It's not like I have it rough, in any case. I've got friends to encourage me in those things, some people don't even have that. But I'd spent the ten-minute shower I'd taken just before we left going over the key points of my plot to tell him...
I wonder, in five years time, will I be sitting in my room, cuddling my toddler instead of my rosella, wondering if he ever believed in me.
I pull back from the outside world for a while, into the private domain of my beloved X-Men cartoons where people face far worse struggles than mine, then to the voices of the Backstreet Boys that have soothed my soul for more years now than I can remember. In turn they heal me enough to venture back to my online life, and return my attention to work, and before long the gaping gash of my disappointment will heal, the memory of the pain will fade, and eventually I'll make the same mistake again, hoping for a different result.
I purposely haven't burnt any disks to play in the car with Backstreet music on them, because James doesn't like to listen to them.
So, the ever-awesome  tagged me, here's the deal. Pick and list six weird habits/facts/ect you have and describe! Let's do it. If anyone thinks Sarah is a bad influence on me, raise a paw.
#1 - I get attached to songs. Not just 'Oh yay, that awesome song is on the radio' and turn up the volume. As in, frantically hunt every YouTube video and download site until I can listen to it. Burn a new CD with new song so I can put it on loop in the car. Record onto my Minidisk so I can listen to it anywhere. Play over and over and over and over and over. Sing loud enough to shatter the fish tank when no one is within earshot.
#2 - Likewise I get permanently attached to characters. Specifically it's usually the relationship between a couple that forms the base of the obsession, and I go absolutely nuts looking for anything connected to them. Art at DA, Fanficition at FF.net, I Google them, Wiki them, look for possible sequel info for movies/computer games, hunt everywhere for posters of them to adore the walls, and create a folder in my documents specifically for holding pictures and video clips of them. I fall for a huge range of characters - from Tidus and Yuna of Final Fantasy X to Syd and Vaughn of Alias to Roddy and Rita of Flushed Away.
#3 - I have no sense of direction. I was literally born without it. My head just can't wrap itself around directional-related stuff. I can get lost trying to find a place I've been to three times before. Not only does this result in me carrying a phone-book in my car for maps because I can't find anywhere new and I have to leave half an hour early for any appointments, it goes right down to basic stuff. I often stumble over left and right and have to double check with my writing hand. Sometimes when I pull out onto a quiet street I don't often drive on I panic because I can't tell which direction the traffic should flow in. When I'm on the registers at work and a customers asks where the dog beds/puppies/birdroom is I reply 'down that aisle and then to the left. *look down at hands* Sorry, to the right.'
#4 - I have a terrible, awful, half-functioning memory. I just mentioned to Mark 'I think all the characters and plotlines rattling around in my head get annoyed when I don't put them down on paper and select a random bit of information to shove out my ear.'
Seriously, it's pathetic. It's not just little things like what day I come home early or the DVDs/library books are due back, but big things, important stuff that my mates tell me. It just falls out of my head.
#5 - I'm a junk food addict. Really. I don't smoke, do drugs, and I drink maybe four or five times a year, so I do junk food. I can eat an entire block of chocolate on my own, in one day, along with between two to three bags of lollies and a big bag of chips. Probably a few biscuits, a doughnut, and a couple of iceblocks in summer.
#6 - Sarah, I'm starting to suspect we are in fact, twins who were separated at birth.
I make characters. For role playing, and my own writing. I can't stop. I'll have over a thousand by the time I'm forty.
Hmm, I tag...     and... I'm running out of people. Wolfy and Doberz, I tag you both again, mwwha! There's six. Have fun all.
My holiday is four days in and honestly, I'm enjoying it. Life has slowed to walking pace, allowing me to catch my breath. I went shopping to deplete some holiday pay: among boring household items like new pillow and suchlike I couldn't resist increasing my pack. I brought a patio aviary and equipped it with six finches (two St. Helenas and four zebras if anyone's into birds) - may as well make the most of wholesale prices at work before Pet Barn takes over and we're reduced to a crappy 20% off. I'll keep everyone posted on that development.
As expected I'm living on (shock horror) junk food, fresh bread and doughnuts. Despite James's addiction to WoW, I'm managing to get some computer-time when he's at work and going to bed early, better yet I've started writing seriously again. Of course I can't focus on one plotline for more than an hour without jumping onto the next one and I'm starting to think all the storylines crammed in my head are overtaking my memory. (Any excuse!)
The rest of the pack are good; Jayne digs holes in the front lawn and Zeke barks at - well, everything. The X-pigs are doing well, thriving on the masses of veggies I keep piling on them since James whipper-snips any blade of grass daring to show it's head. Sage's baby boy, the agouti Abyssinian, went home with Karli today to begin his life as a stud male (Insert cheering soundbite here for any male readers) and I don't think I can bear to part with his brother, the last physical link I have to their father Wolverine. I've a feeling he'll be staying.
In the meantime there are DVD boxsets, a fresh set of library books, there's music, there's James, my buddies, there's my pack. There's racing Zeke and Jayne at the park, there's sunsets. There's life.
Signing out for the next week or so. Stay safe, guys.
~Chris
P.S. Is it a bad sign I'm listening to (and occasionally singing to) a Christmas song in August?
I should give you all an update on my life, so here goes.
We've now met the new owners of Aussie Pet Stores. Soon to become Pet Barn, and dress us all in yellow and black. I think I'm going to mistake us for Bumblebee of Transformers.
Actually they're really nice, and it looks like the staff and store will stay the same so far. Fingers crossed. We'll obviously have a name change, and probably new computers because they use a different system. Yeah. Life goes on, everything changes and we can't go anything but go along with it, as Jan said to me the other day. Daryle has resigned though, having been offered an excellent, higher-paying job in a hospital as storeman. The place will seem empty and very, very much quieter without him! I will miss him though. Aussie is made up of no more than the people working there; I've been tied to it from the moment I started there, and honestly couldn't imagine any other job. I do worry though that a year from now I will look back and realize I've been there longer than anyone, and as it is I can name only a handful of people who've been there longer than me now. Yes, change will continue as it always will, but I don't have to embrace it.
On the plus side I've started writing again. Just bits and pieces here but I'll take what I can! Now all that remains is to pry James from the computer seat when he falls asleep on the keyboard and find the time to write!
The pack is doing great, I've had two sets of X-pigs born! Two already have good homes, one going to Karli and another to a regular customer of mine. I'm keeping one little girl, leaving only one male, the very last of Wolverine's line, his final son, born after he was killed by a spider  I need his son to have a good home, not just another faceless customer. I'm thinking about setting up another cage so I have room to keep him myself.
My character refs are getting there! Doing my best to do them in family order and working through, hope to finish them entirely when I go on holidays on Sunday. Two more workdays left, then it's two weeks of lazy freedom! Hoping to catch up with the gang and maybe even roleplay a little!
Catch you guys soon
When I wa told the news this morning. I'm glad my glasses are blue-tinted and my goldfish expression hopefully wasn't too obvious, but I think all my co-workers were like me, none of us saw this coming.
So, here's the news...
Aussie is going to be sold. Probably, nothing is confirmed yet and in fact will not be finalized  for another two months, but the ball is definitely in motion.
What does this mean for me? Hopefully nothing. Hopefully the new owners (Not going to post the company buying since this journal technically is open to the entire World Wide Web..) will not be changing things too much. Of all four Aussie Pet Stores our store is the most financially secure - we make a damn good profit. In my eyes messing around with what's already a winning formula is just asking for trouble. So far all we've been informed of is that our jobs will be secure and we'll get more info as it comes - but with these new workplace laws, an employer can literally change just about anything, so I admit to being a little worried. Hiring, firing, changing around rosters and days worked and pay amounts and holiday and sick pay, leave loading, it might all change.
Also, not everything I've found on the potential new owner's website is encouraging. Some of it's just little things, like them having a price-beat guarantee... sure hope I don't have to tell Jan that bit of news, he HATES them. Or carrying specific brands of stuff that might replace a line we carry that we all know and have proven to sell. Other stuff I found was bigger. Like the fact most of the company's stores don't carry live animals, although animal welfare is a high priority for them. I think I might actually faint if someone told me they were getting rid of my birds. What would I do all day? Or week? Or removing the pups or the reptiles or the small animals, all of them. No, you don't make money on livestock, but you get people through the door any buying products and spreading your good reputation to their friends.
I'll keep everyone posted as I get more information on this. I don't fear change. You can't avoid that. And I'm not really worried about loosing my job altogether, but I have the strongest feeling I'm about to loose something important. Much as I hope the new owners might sit back and let the (former? !!) Aussie Pet Stores run as they currently are, I don't see it happening. When that familiar big blue, red and white Aussie Pets sign is painted over and the new logos are being stitched into our uniforms, it's not going to be the same.
Wish me luck over the next few weeks, guys. I may need it.
So things have been pretty normal. I've started a course through work, Companion Animal training, and I'll get a certificate III in that when I'm finished. So far it's all pretty basic stuff and I think I'll have it done long before the year and a half I've got for it.
It's still bloody cold considering out supposed tropical paradise and all, it was nine degrees last night. Even though it's stopped raining, the sun seems to have lost its strength and the air almost crackles. I don't have much feeling in my fingers as I type this, which makes it weird when I hit the keys, like mini pins and needles.
James and I have been seeing a few movies lately, so I'm going to comment on those for the hell of it. Shrek III was funny, but definitely not the classic the first two movies were. It's starting to get a little overdone but it was an entertaining watch, although without the replay value of the last two.
I was overwhelmed with a new obsession after watching the second Fantastic Four movie. Not because I'm a huge FF fan (I'm primarily an X-Men girl, as we all know) even thought it was great to see Ioan Grufford in his awesome role as Mr Fantastic, and I still like Jessica Alba even though she keeps appearing in strategic (or missing) outfits, and I've always had a soft spot for Johnny because he's such a lovable moronic charmer. No, it's the appearance of the Silver Surfer that makes this movie. I'm completely head over heels for him, he was done beautifully in the movie, you just feel so much empathy for him.
Then last night, after standing outside the theater for twenty minutes in a line of obsessive fans eating onion noodles (One one was, but that was enough, trust me) James and I saw Transformers.
Wow.
Now, I'm not even a fan. I've never watched the cartoons or anything, but damn, was this movie amazing. Go see it. Just see it. It's one of those incredibly well-done pieces of art you can never appreciate through word-of-mouth, you've got to see for yourself. You'll never look at your car the same way again, trust me.
Also saw the preview for Stardust, which looks pretty damn interesting. Meant to be based on some fantasy novel, though I've never heard of it. Looks to be one worth watching.
In non-movie related news, I got yet another new packmate  I just can't help myself. A customer brought in these baby budgies to sell, and their three kids had been handling a few of them. Well, the nicest one, a beautiful little blue boy, came home with me after spending most of the afternoon riding around the shop on my shoulder. He's there now, eyeing the computer for its weird noises (A Rob Thomas song). Putting a piccy up after I post this so you can all see how cute. Called him Cloud - well, James did, after one of the Final Fantasy characters!
*flicks to Green Day and sings to Jesus of Suburbia* This has to be the longest song I own, I think.
I've also been managing to do a little writing lately. Got some great ideas for my sci-fi/aliens series and I'm working them all out and writing short descriptions and snippets. Am happy.
I have the Townsville Show tomorrow *watches Cloud climb-fall down my front and into my lap to chew the last few sequins on my jeans* which should be good fun, I usually enjoy some of the tamer rides, and it's always a really light-hearted, fun atmosphere. I'm also going with James when he gets his second tattoo later this afternoon, to have a look at wolf/lion tats myself, although I won't have the money for one until I pay off Grandma for lending me money to get my teeth out.
The center of the earth is the end of the world!
(But not if you're a fan of The Core!)
I'm off to do my usual Friday stuff, rent and all, plus my fridge is conspiciously absent of chocolate and junk food. That must be fixed. Take care all, go see some movies!
I'm thankful that I'm done with the removal of teeth. The stitches inside my cheek aren't fun at all (try eating every bite of food throughout your week on only one side of your mouth. See how often you forget) and are not improving my mood much. Not that I'm exceptionally grumpy or depressed right now because hey, I have some good things going for me. Like a boyfriend who knows just how much my best friend means to me and flies them up for my birthday, half a season of Scrubs to watch on DVD with said boyfriend, a pretty fantastic 21st all-round behind me, many present books still to read and three blankets on the bed tonight.
Which brings me to one of the things grating on my nerves: It's cold. As in COLD. After Sarah went home the weather broke and we had a moderate storm that night, and ever since I've been scratching my head as to how someone managed to switch my sunny, tropical Townsville with THE NORTH POLE.  I'm wearing three layers and my teeth are still chattering. That's painful with large holes in one's gums where teeth formerly resided and several stitches.
Having Sarah go home, by the way, was the only negative of having her stay. In just a few days having her around became the most natural thing ever, and I am still referring to the second spare room as 'Sarah's room'. (Ten minutes ago: 'Oh, and you should get the blue blanket out of Sarah's room.&#039  <- See?
Anyway, I wasn't given much time to mope; back to work as usual on Wednesday which was rushed but in a good day - leaving notes for the next five days I had to entrust my birdroom to other staff, pitching new display ideas theifed from a local bookstore to Jan and Ros, the merchandiser, getting lost in the airport as I went to pick up new puppies, having Jan embrasses me as he loves to do by praising my handling of the birdroom in front of the -entire- staff at the staff meeting...
Ok, so I am proud of the way things are going, I've increased sales, keep getting compliments on the room itself, and I'm glad I'm not contributing, much, to my boss's blood pressure as a whole. Even if I can't have the focus to finish any of my stories, not even gorram fanfiction, at least I have a career to fall back on. (Does it count as falling when you're not even off the ground? Or not even out of the fetal position?)
So the cold weather is making my fingers and toes numb, my lips develop their very own grand canyons and my nose to water constantly, which all bug me. I don't get down during bad weather - I love rain and if by some miracle it ever snows here I'd be over the moon - but the sudden change of unchanging sweltering thirty-degree heat and bathable humidity to my fingers getting frosted to the keyboard is making me a little snappy.
I'm not kidding about the numb fingers so I'm going to tie up my rambling for tonight... this morning, it's twenty past midnight now... and these are going to be short.
Doberz, I'm thinking of you as your move comes up, I know you're going to be alright. It'll be the best feeling in the world when you're there, you trust me.
Wolfy, I'm getting worried about you because I haven't chatted to you in weeks now. Throw the next random item you have at me so I know you're alright.
Shellness, I'm going to go out an buy a mic next Friday and you are NEXT on the list to talk to me for real, mwaha!
Sash, I -still- have a picture for you. I'll scan it sometime tomorrow and hopefully get it up here then too
Dark O, I actually haven't chatted to you in a while either, so after Wolfy throws something at me, can you check to see if I'm still conscious, then please do the same.
Sarah, I miss you a ton and I wish you could have stayed to entertain me while I'm stuck at home recovering. We could have watched Firefly again
Stay cool, stay safe, and don't throw point and/or cold objects, I bed of you.
It was a fairly slow Tuesday at Aussie Pets. I'd completed the usual morning routine of feeds and waters and spent the quiet afternoon to clean a few cages. At about 2, Daryle, the storeman stuck his head into the birdroom and called to me there was a guy wanting to speak about birds up the front. I laughed to myself - he's not the best liar.
Of course the entire staff were waiting up the front complete with cake, party poppers, large conspicuous birthday hats I had to continue wearing for the remainder of the day and most surprising to me, presents. A birthday at work always warrants a cake and an off-key 'Happy birthday' sung to them in front of the amused customers, but presents are special occasions. Kathy and Dawn had organized a collection for me and brought a gorgeous dogtag for me - they're going to get it engraved for me too, when I figure out what I want on it. Jan brought me a watch, having grown tired of seeing me stick my head in the office just to see what the time was.
That wasn't even the best surprise of the day. I got home as usual with Zeke and Jayne jumping up in excitement to see me and bounded upstairs to see what James got my for my birthday. He, dad and my brother had made an absolutely gorgeous computer table and set it all up with James's computer and our games on one side and all my art stuff on the other. I loved it, but spied an out-of-place mobile phone sitting on the side. I asked James if he's brought a new one, and he told me my real present was waiting in the kitchen - which, as I'm sure EVERYONE IN THE WORLD knew already, was none other than SARAH!
More updates about various parties and the fun Sarah and I are going to have later, I have to go to work and beg a little more time off for next week
So for all my buddies, I've had no computer for about three weeks now and I've been completely mental not being able to talk to you guys or catch up at US and RP and check my waja puppies and imagining how many things I've missed, like Shell's birthday which I feel awful about. *crawls into Shell's lap*
Short version, everything James replaced caused another thing to stop working in the computer that had to be replaced and kept spiralling like a whirlpool. I love technology. Worst part? Chris is an idiot and doesn't remember to save files. The problem in the first place came becuase the computer semi blew a fuse somewhere and the harddrive now needs a peice that's impossible to get in the right brand/time line so basically, we have our old hard drive but can't acess it. In any event, I've lost all my files again. Last time didn't even teach me, I saved things about seven months ago. The story I'd planned and even started drafting early chapters, all my character work, 700+ digital photos taken since Xmas, all my downloaded music, my saved games, all unreachable. If I think about that too long my brain starts to slowly callapose in on itself. I'm a moron.
I've also been feeling generally crappy and flu-ish, some of the teeth I need to pay over 4 grand to have removed are aching horribly and that makes my head hurt, and I even had a day off yesterday (*gasp*!) and lay on my beanbag at the foot of my bed playing Final Fantasy X. All day. I still felt like shit. I think I've caught Psstacosis, (parrot fever) off one of the birds at work. It will probably mutate and wipe out half of North Queensland. *snorts*
Now messenger won't let me in because it says my password is wrong when IT ISN'T and James couldn't afford a new Windows (our old one of course no longer runs on this computer) so we're runing an unregistered version that keeps threatening system failure and gorram SHUTTING DOWN and I'm still on dial-up becuase I can't afford the $180 deposit to get ADSL hooked up.... arrrrgh!
But the good news is I'm back, I'm fighting to make it all work somehow, and I an releived at least, I've gotten this far. Forgive me for not posting/replying, I'll be trying to catch up here and US tonight and tomorrow, when after work I will be FREE for a whole weekend, with a public holiday coming up on Monday.
*stalks off to stab messenger into submission*
So here's what's been happening in my life recently.
All the normal elements are there, work and some more work, customers with questions and cages in need of cleaning. My own animals and babysitting other's animals. James and DVDs and cooking.
The more major thing, I would swap in the heartbeat for the normal things. Even boring, mundane, everyday normal things.
The pain started about a week and a half ago. I wasn't overly surprised, as I've avoided dentist checkups ever since I got my braces off... two, three years ago?
Anyway, I spent the week living on painkillers - specifically, some dad has given me that he took for his back pains, so for the main part of the week things were bearable. On Friday, my first day off, I go to the dentist.
My bottom wisdom teeth need to come out. Urgently - they're impacted (growing sideways) and filled with holes that should by rights be infected. The top ones will need to come out eventually, but they aren't critical. Almost as bad, on the bottom right side, the wisdom tooth has pushed into the tooth beside it. There's now an even bigger hole in that tooth, but at the bottom, right beside the nerve. That's where my pain's been coming from.
I have two options: root canal, or extraction.
Out with that one, too.
Wisdom teeth - or any teeth - being removed isn't something that's covered by medicare, our public health system. For at least the bottom wisdom teeth, due to their impaction, we're talking surgery.
I'll know more exact figures when I take my X-rays to the dentist in an hour or so, but we're likely talking at the very least, bare minimum two thousand dollars.
My Grandma has said she'll be able to help... but man, that's still a huge amount of money.
I'm going to get all five out, because there's no way I could go back twice - financially, or mentally.
I'm terrified of dentists, doctors, and hospitals. This could be something out of a nightmare. I really, really badly want to wake up.
On the plus side, due to the urgency of my situation, at least we're not talking a long wait, which to me is usually just as agonizing as the surgery itself.
On the down side... the way, way down side, level with bottomless pits, in fact...
all this is adding up to very, very dim chances of me making the Gathering.
It may still be possible. I can look at getting a personal loan, maybe. But right now, it's not happening.
So at the moment, I'm both depressed and terrified as I sit here typing, longing to be getting ready for work and heading off to another average day in the birdroom. Instead I have the worst case of nerves ever in the history of the world, and X-rays sitting on top of the bookshelf I have to take into my dentist, where she'll refer me to a surgeon. It probably won't take long to see him. Probably won't be more than a week before I'm lying in a green hospital gown on a plank-thin bed.
I think I need to throw up.
There are some things in life that make me feel very small and defeated.
Some of the things are small or even idiotic things. Like wondering weather or not fictional characters like Tidus and Yuna are ever allowed a few moments of happiness together. Because honestly, in the great scheme of things, the love between two cartoon characters is an odd thing to care about and believe in.
Some of the things are huge, horrifying things. Things that start out with a weak, dying bird in my hands, with me helpless to do anything, or make it better. Which reminds me of what my own race is doing, right at this very moment, to whales and tigers and bears all around the world. When my kid looks up at me and asks their mummy why they can only see snow leopards in zoos, and I tell them people think it makes them more attractive to butcher an animal and discard the carcass to drape its skin around themselves, I'm going to sob my heart out, I know it. Because I feel so defeated when the birds finally lets go, and dies.
Some of the things are things that really only matter to me. Like the triple photo frame I gave James on his last birthday that I put three photos of myself in (It wasn't easy finding three I could stand to look at, I must have sorted through dozens to find those semidecent ones) that's now leaning up against the wall on his side of the bed. Two of the photos, the ones on top, have slipped out of the cardboard backing between the back of the frame, one disappearing behind the others, one slightly sliding over the final photo down the bottom. It's been that way since before Christmas and James hasn't found the time to fix it.
I guess I just hoped he might hang it on the wall and maybe feel happy when he looked at it. All I know is that I don't feel very loved when I see that photo frame. I feel like a chore that's put into a list of things to be done, and so far down the bottom of that list three months isn't enough to want to even start.
See, the sad part is I think I've figured out that's the reason I write. Not because of the photo frame or a dying bird or getting caught up in a love story. I want to be happy, I'm an optimistic person.
I want to be happy. When I'm not, or when I can't be, I want to make others happy. Even if they're only characters created out of my own mind, characters like Tidus and Yuna who are only as real as what someone sees in them.
1.) List four obsessions you have.
Firefly/Serenity - just downloaded the latter so expect music videos soon! *tailwag*
Alias, and Jennifer Garner and Micheal Vartan in general
Wajas - your fault Shell!
X-MEN! Me loves my X-Men!
2.) Have you ever slept in the back of a car?
No, actually. I've never been on a trip long enough and I can't just sleep on a short trip.
3.) Have you recently dyed your hair/cut it?
Does shaving it all off count?  I did that late last year!
4.) List four people that you look up to the most.
James
Jennifer Garner
Jan
Amanda
5.) How many pets do you own as of now?
Who thinks no mortal human can count that high?
2 dogs, 3 birds, 20+ guinea pigs, 3 rats, 2 mice, a beardy next week, a tank full of fish... there's a boyfriend in here somewhere...
6.) Which do you prefer white or black?
Black?
7.) Who is your most player character?
Slash
-Being stuck on an island with 5 acquaintances
With the best friend
9.) Name three aspects that tell who you are.
Mental
Charming
Unique
10.) If you could have a power what would it be?
I went through this the other day deciding which X-Men power I'd have... I'd be Storm. Weather control. I don't think I'm at all a strong enough person for Jean's Grey telepathic ability.
11.) Who was the last person you talked to?
James. He bounded by going 'Beardy! Beardy!' a second ago because he saw the pet question.
12.) Who was the last person you said "I love you" to?
James
13.) Write down the first five words that pop into your head.
Bread
14.) What's one thing you wish you could do better?
Focus on actually FINISHING the stories I start.
15.) Do you like the way you are?
Yup.
16.) Choose, Summer or Winter?
*is sitting in a shirt and board shorts, slowly melting in the heat* Win-ter...
17.) Choose, rain or snow?
Snow! Sn-ow!
18.) Water or ice?
Ice, ice everywhere, and not a drop to drink
19.) List two odd things about yourself.
I don't have an eye colour, they're a mix of several shades
I often have mad laughing fits over really silly things. Or nothing. I roll on the floor and cry.
20.) Now list 3 people who should do this quiz!
Anyone who likes may do this quiz, I was tagged by
But Shell, Doberz and Wolfy will probably all do it.
I think Jean's closer than usual to me today.
All day I've been guessing thins I shouldn't know. Some things it's simply placing clues from background knowledge and experience together. Other things... like my guess that Amanda's agreed to take Aussie's mascot snake, Medusa, so she can give her to Liesh (as she no longer works there it'd all have to be under the table naturally)... are more borne of intuition.
Alysia came over to collect Jayne - she has two small dogs (and two large ones!) of her own and adores Jayne to bits. He's going to have a BALL at her place while I'm away... I'm off to Brisbane tomorrow morning, to spend some time there before the Robbie Williams concert! I spent the evening alternatly packing and cooking the roast Leish arrived to share with James and I. Leish being let go is a long and involved story with more bits added every time I talk to someone about it, so suffice to say she's now dog-washing and really enjoying it, and I miss her around Aussie a lot. Still, it was awesome to catch up with her and hang out for a while. Leish is all-round a great person.
Amanda was teasing me the other day my saying Medusa is going to go to a really good home but absolutely refusing to tell me who. I did guess Leish - who's loved and looked after Medusa for years - but even so Amanda shook her head and just smiled, not giving up her secret.
I learnt from Riley today (another close ally of mine in Aussie Pets, one of the brightest and happiest people I know, and also one of the most decent. She could actually be Sarah's sister, I often think when I'm around her!) that it's actually AMANDA who's getting Medusa... and I immediately guessed why she's taking her: to give to Leish. 1: She's said to me several times she's not buying any more animals before she moves back down to Sydney because it's too stressful to transport them, and she's like that, always putting her animals before her own needs/wants. 2: She said Medusa was going to 'a really good home'. While Amanda's home would certainly be a good one (see above reason), she's far too modest to refer to herself that way. 3: I know Amanda. It's exactly the kind of thing she'd do. She's decent and a great friend, but certainly daring enough to go behind Peter and Jan's backs if she knows it's the right thing to do. 4: I send her a text asking if she was actually going to KEEP Medusa and 15 minutes later Leish rings, to say Jayne is doing great and is napping on the seat beside her, that she's really happy Amanda is getting Medusa, and oh, that Amanda offered her Medusa but she doesn't have time for her.
Yeah, Amanda's so going to give her to Leish. She begged Peter for MONTHS to be able to take her home, everyone knew how much she loved that snake. She wouldn't have tried so hard if she didn't have time for her. In any case she'd MAKE time *laughs* I'm on to both of them! Amanda is so fantastic. I'm going to miss her like crazy when she heads back to Sydney early next year. She's so much fun to be around. On Thursday when a bunch of us were re-arranged the bird products, I was holding a heavy cement pedi-perch and pointed it at her like a sabre, being my usual idiot self. She was holding a stack of long-handled bird nets, and within seconds we were playing out a slow-mo light sabre fight, sound effects and all. *laughs and shakes head* I'm glad Jan was in the office. Eep - hope he didn't happen to be looking at the security monitors at the time. *snicker*
Anyway, to get back to my original theme, I can't say much about the first background knowledge guess I was talking about, but Wolfy will confirm that it was a pretty on-the-ball type of situation.
In any case... I just got a strange sense that something was going to happen quite unexpectedly while I was away, something negative. Which is quite stupid, because I can hardly imagine I'll know every major event that will take place and how it will unfold while I'm in Brisbane, but... my other intuitions today have been pretty swift... and it's unsettled me.
So instead of figuring out what I've forgotten to pack, I'm here, nosing through Wajas and typing my rambles, my hackles raised and my muscles taunt.
I think I'm just wound-up that Calypso and Jayne aren't here (Amanda has Cal and Leish took Jayne) and while they are both the best people I can think of to took after them, I'm still doing the nervous-parent thing and am already worrying about them. I think it's just thrown me a bit.
I think I need to stop worrying, to watch an Alias episode and read a bit more of the next Earth's Children book, then go to bed, wake up, and remember that this morning is the start of my holidays, that I have Dreamworld and Robbie Williams and hopefully Sheree waiting.
Part of me has gone wild and wants to jump on the next plane to Canberra and go spend some time with Sarah and catch up with her and forget my worries for just a while, t...
Life has been fairly normal over my side of the world. Work only gets busier and busier and I'm really starting to look foward to my holidays, which start on the 10th. (Well the 8th if we're being technical, since that's my weekend!) Jan is grumpier than ever (he hates Christmas, long-standing after many years of retail work) and we're curently butting heads over a certain staff member who's been buying WAY too much livestock and has half of us threatening to walk out if they buy another puppy or bird. Still, he's reasonable enough and I've let him know where I stand and what I'll stand for - he was the one who gave me the bird department and however much he might regret it sometimes, he made that choice. I won't see any neglect come to my birds, now or when they're sold.
Some idiot dropped a family of guinea pigs off at the store (read: "dumped") saying he'd brought them here as two males a few months ago. One of those males has recently had four babies. Now, both parents are beautiful, almost show quality white cresteds, and I KNOW I'd remember them, let alone the fact I can sex a guinea pig from their birth and double-check every one I sell. I found what I think is the reason quickly enough, the poor mother has a big lump under her chin. I'd say the former owners found the lump, couldn't be bothered taking a ten-dollar rodent to the vets and dumped them on the nearest petshop. Still, they'll be alright now. The babies aren't weaned yet (The guy reckoned they were three weeks, the weaning age, by their size I'd guess two weeks max) so I've kept them together but of course taken out the male, who was trying to mate her again - it's entirely possible she's already pregnant, as they go into heat soon after giving birth. I'm taking the mum to our shop vet when he comes in on thursday and we'll go from there over what to do about her lump. Could be a cyst or otherwise benign, but it's hard to tell without a vet's advice.
On the positve side the work Christmas party last week was the most fun I've had in weeks. Our them was pirates and we all dressed up, me with a toy mcaw sewed to my shoulder and a massive Pirates sword I brought from toyworld. I also had the brainwave to bring a water pistol - well. Peter, the owner of the Aussie Pet Stores chain, was up as usual and already pissed when he arrived. Took him hours of being squirted before he realized who had the gun!! Peter is scary when you're at work, but he's easier to get along with while there's a bottle of wine in his hand. Amanda and I cracked up shooting people from our corner of the table (Jan was of course our second favourite target, but being smarter, more suspicious and far less pissed [originally] than Peter he worked it out pretty quick) and I happily started to get pissed myself - hey, Peter was buying the drinks!!! The entire table cracked up when I put an expensive magnum ice-cream on the tab and I was forced to sneak out to the smoker's tables to eat it, preventing the commontion from alerting Peter. After a few malibu and lemonades I discovered Leila, who was in charge of decorating the place, had actually brought those chocolate coins which are DELICIOUS and scattered them over the tables. I dashed form seat to seat wolfing them, while my workmates could only laugh helplessly,  before Sally pointed out the painted treasure chest behind the tables was COVERED in them. More hilarity as I dived on the chest, trying to pick it up and drag it away. Later on in the night when the early birds had left and a good-natured group sat chatting around one table, I decided I'd consumed more than enough alcohol and grabbed a jug of water for myself. By this stage someone had stolen my water pistol (I'd already wrestled Dawn, the well-mannered english lady who's the overall manager of the stores, Kate, and Jan to get it back) and so it was totally unprovoked when Jan emptied half a glass of water on me. Well, what DOES one do when your boss tips water on you and have a jug half-filled in your hand? He ASKED for it. Had ice in it and all... The following day Debbie called me 'the life of the party'. Geeze, you put one broken-off pirate hook on your finger and use it to lift drinks and toast people, and you're branded for life... if anyone wants to see photos I'm about to scan in some and put them in scraps. There's none of me, but there's some more amusing ones in Dawn's set which are on the work computers and I'll get e-mailed to me soon.
Kids (animals) are all doing good. Oh! and today is the 1st od December, the day I traditionally put up my Xmas decorations! I went and brought a (fake) tree today, and I've got bags of tinsel and baubles everywhere. Happy holidays, all!
Q1) Would 3(Jayne) kick 11(Beast)'s ass, or vise-versa?
*laughs* Jayne would EAT Beast. Then spit him out becuase of all that FUR.
Q2) Descirbe what would happen if 8(Longshot) and 1(Zeke) joined forces to throw a surprise party for 6(Medusa).
*snickers* Zeke woudl put himself in charge of the food, so consequenrtly there would be NO food when the party rolls around. Medusa shows up and eats Longshot. Zeke faints from shock.
Q3) You are lost in a strange forest, with night rolling in, mist curling around your ankles and a steadily bleeding wound on your left arm. You run into 10(Havok). What happens?
I sit her on my shoulder and chat to her about how lost and bleeding and I am, while she sniffs my ear and waits for me to find something edible for her.
The world would be a scary place.
6. Ben
7. Shell
8. James
9. Jayson
10. Kirsten
11. Hugh Jackman
12. Cassie
Q1) Would 3(Sarah) kick 11(Hugh Jackman)'s ass, or vise-versa?
*snickers* I think Sarah would be too busy leaping around going 'OH MY GOD IT'S WOLVERINE IT'S WOLVERINE IT'S WOLVERINE! CHRIS! LOOK, WOLVERINE!!!!!!' to ever beat Hugh Jackman up. And he's FAR too nice ever to beat up a sweetie like Sarah, even a mad bounding screaming Sarah
Q2) Descirbe what would happen if 8(James) and 1(Doberz) joined forces to throw a surprise party for 6(Ben).
That'd be odd, niehter of them know Ben, I work with him. But Doberz would be whaping James over the head and going 'YES! We DO need more balloons!'
Q3) You are lost in a strange forest, with night rolling in, mist curling around your ankles and a steadily bleeding wound on your left arm. You run into 10(Kirsten). What happens?
She helps me bandage my arm and we stagger together through the mist until we stumble upon civilization.
Q4) What would happen if your boss was 2(Wolfy)?
NOTHING would get done, as we'd be chattering a mile a minute at each other and ignoring any customers, and we'd both be fired the next day.
Q5) Are there any circumstances 12(Cassie) and 7(Shell) would get together?
Ah, no. No, that woudln't work
Q6) What is 8(James)'s favourite food?
He loves macdonalds - he eats anything, though.
Q7) As part of a team-building exercise, 3(Sarah), 5(Jan), and 11(Hugh Jackman) have to build a raft and cross a river...
Jan imediately takes the leadership role as is his habit and works it all out, listening patiently to Hugh's suggestions. Once Sarah stops her leaping/screaming about Wolverine she joins in, trying not to laugh at Jan who is clearly attracted to Hugh. *snicker*
Q8) If 1(Doberz) had a middle name, what would it be?
I'm fairly certain Dobes DOES already have one of those
Q9) What is the most likely reason for 9(Jayson) challenging 7(Shell) to mortal combat?
Oh that's easy, he's drunk. Shell accepts the challenge, hands him a sword, and watches in amusement as he swings it in the opposite direction, choppign up a nearby lamp post. She laughs at him as he collapses in an unconscious heap then politely rolls him onto his side so he won't choke on his vomit in the morning.
Q10) 4(Amanda) and 8(James) just turned up for 6(Ben)'s surprise party.
James is sitting in a corner drinking wondering why he threw this party. Amanda rocks on in, kicks him out of his corner and makes him have fun.
Q11) What does 12(Cassie) find when they finally turn up late for the surprise party the following morning?
Lots of torn wrapping paper. We all lvoe Ben, he'd get lots of presents.
Q12) 9(Jayson) just offered to drop you off at work/school. How do you react?
"Jays, you lost your lisence nine months ago for drag racing, you moron. I'll walk."
Q13) 6(Ben) and 7(Shell) team up to get revenge on 1(Doberz), who recently betrayed 10(Kirsten).
Erm, Doberz betrays Kirsten, whom she does not know, and Ben flies half-way around the world for Shell's help becuase - she lives in Dobes' state. Yup.
Q14) Name four DVDs in 2(Wolfy)'s collection.
Firefly, Serenity, Les Miserables, and the Lion King.
Q15) 8(James) has to kill and eat either 11(Hugh Jackman), or 5(Jan). Which do they choose?
*grins* I don't think my partner is a canabal, but - Jan. He could NEVER eat Wolverine.
Q16) 4(Amanda) just kidnapped 1(Doberz)'s true love. Why?
*blink* Um... I've got nothing. OH! Amanda has fallen in love with Rebel and wants him as a playmate for her two dogs
2. Vaughn (Bounder's son)
3. Drake (Ash's son)
4. Evey (Erm... I'm not sure if I'm allowed to say who her mother is yet? )
5. Sage (Ulryk's adopted pup)
6. Hope (Wolverine's daughter)
7. Firefly (LOA)
8. Kavi (Steel's son)
9. Rascal (Ash's other son)
10. Aeris (Steel's daughter)
11. Silver Eagle (A_E's son)
12. Dae (Bold's son)
Q1) Would (3)Drake (11)Silver Eagle's ass, or vise-versa?
Drake is a pretty straightfoward warrior, although big and strong andhighly-trained, Eagle has pyrkinisis on his side and would totally win. He's a determined pup.
Q2) Descirbe what would happen if (8)Kavi and (1)Fox joined forces to throw a surprise party for (6)Hope.
Kavi, being lazy but excited by the idea of a party, would alternate stealing the party food and napping with racing around happily hanging streamers and blowing up balloons. Fox prods him awake and makes him help with the heavy lifting.
Q3) You are lost in a strange forest, with night rolling in, mist curling around your ankles and a steadily bleeding wound on your left arm. You run into (10)Aeris. What happens?
Aeris is jumping and screaming and panicing at every little noise. She passes out when she sees I am bleeding. I pick her up and carry her back to Zeb's pack, hoping she won't maim me before I can explain things.
Q4) What would happen if your boss was (2)Vaughn?
That would be awesome. I love Vaughn. He'd be an ok boss, although not enough of a hard-ass.
Q5) Are there any circumstances (12) Dae and (7) Firefly would get together?
No, seeing as Dae is straight. Firefly could go either way if I gave him the chance.
Q6) What is (8)Kavi's favourite food?
*snickers* EVERYTHING.
Q7) As part of a team-building exercise, (3)Drake, (5)Sage, and (11)Silver Eagle have to build a raft and cross a river...
What a weirtd trio! Well, Eagle starts working things out and giving the orders, which Drake follows, being quite obediant like his dad. Sage helps out, subtling using his wizard skills to help get the raft built in record time.
Q8) If (1)Fox had a middle name, what would it be?
Um - something relating to his blue eyes.
Q9) What is the most likely reason for (9)Rascal challenging (7)Firefly to mortal combat?
*snickers* Rascal, the big lovable lug, has just decided Mortal Kombat is a coolest movie EVER and races off to challenge the first enemy he finds, who happens to be poor Firefly.
Q10) (4)Evey and (8)Kavi just turned up for (6)Hope's surprise party.
Evey arrives to find Kavi passed out form over-eating and Fox and Hope playing drinking games.
Q11) What does (12)Dae find when they finally turn up late for the surprise party the following morning?
Dae, wondering why on earth he was invited anyway, finds Evey beating Fox and Hope at their drinking game and stares in confusion at Kavi passed out in a sea of junk food.
Q12) (9)Rascal just offered to drop you off at work/school. How do you react?
You're too young to drive, Rascal.
Q13) (6)Hope and (7)Firefly team up to get revenge on (1)Fox, who recently betrayed (10)Aeris.
O-kay, Hope wants to use Firefly's powers against Fox, so she enlists him. Fox accidentally betrayed Aeris... I don't know, by telling the ESLP where to find her?
Q14) Name four DVDs in (2)Vaughn's collection.
The Core, the Bounre Identity, Shrek, and all Alias seasons
Q15) (8)Kavi has to kill and eat either (11)Silver Eagle, or (5)Sage. Which do they choose?
Even obsessed with food as he is, Kavi would faint from horror at the thought of having to eat another Lupe.
Q16) (4)Evey just kidnapped (1)Fox's true love. Why?
Well, for starters Fox doesn't have a true love, he has a one-night stand with a casual aquaintence who falls in love with him and wants to mate him. The cloest thing he has to a true love would be Jax, who's his true best friend in a brotherly-love type way. If Evey kidnapped him she's probably trying to ransom back her adoptive mother Spirit or possibly Omehn who've been captured by the ESLP.
3. Flint
4. Jax (Slash's next son)
5. Fox (Fox_E's son)
6. Hope
7. Flare (Ash's daughter)
8. Spring (Bounder's daughter)
9. Bounder
10. Sundance
11. Lopey
12. Savvy
Q1) Would (3)Flint (11)Lopey's ass, or vise-versa?
Tough one. Flint is a little bastard to fight, being the demonic shadow-elemental he is. Lopey can read minds and knows what his enemy is about to do before they do it. Physically? Flint. If Lopey used his mental powers? Flint's head would explode.
Q2) Descirbe what would happen if (8)Spring and (1)Wolverine joined forces to throw a surprise party for (6)Hope.
*laughs* Wolvie the pary-planner, riiight... Wolverine would sit back and let Spring race around planning everything, while doing all the grunt work for her. The party is a smashing sucess and Wolverine quietly watches from the sidelines, too much an old warrior to join in but the secret softie for pups he is enjoying the madness.
Q3) You are lost in a strange forest, with night rolling in, mist curling around your ankles and a steadily bleeding wound on your left arm. You run into (10)Sundance. What happens?
Sundance, after asking what on earth I'm doing, escorts me back to Eagle Forest and has Jean see to my arm.
Q4) What would happen if your boss was (2)A_E?
You know, I could draw several similairties between Jan and A_E. They're both extordinarily hardworking and dedicated and would do anything for their pack/workplace. Well... there are differences, too. Like, A_E is NEVER grumpy, he's straight, and has two dozen kids running around, managing to juggle being a family man and a career man quite well.
Q5) Are there any circumstances (12) Savvy and (7) Flare would get together?
Possible, but unlikely. Flare is not the type to be impressed by smooth-talking show-off macho vampires like Savvy. Savvy would very likely think she's hot and want to get with her, but they're distantly related. (Not something too likely to throw him off, the little creep). Erm... Savvy is Slash's pup and Flare is Ash's, and Ash is Slash's uncle. Which makes Flare Slash's cousin and Flare and Savvy second-cousins.
Q6) What is (8)Spring's favourite food?
Spring reminds me oddly of Kaylee, and her favourite food woulddefinetely be a sweet fruit like strawberries, pineapple or grapes.
Q7) As part of a team-building exercise, (3)Flint, (5)Fox, and (11)Lopey have to build a raft and cross a river...
*snicker* Excellent. Lopey could visualize it in a second but Fox and Flint would be constantly trying to drown one another, strangle one another with the ropes, and nail one another's tails to the raft.
Q8) If (1)Wolverine had a middle name, what would it be?
He kinda of does, it's 'The'.
Q9) What is the most likely reason for (9)Bounder challenging (7)Flare to mortal combat?
Bounders quite a gentleman and not the best of warriors so he'd need  good reason to challenge an enemy warrior, and an even better one since she's a female younger than him. Perhaps Flare and Vaughn had a thing and she broke his heart. Bounder is just defending his son's heartbreak
Q10) (4)Jax and (8)Spring just turned up for (6)Hope's surprise party.
Jax stares in utter fascination at all the Fire Eagle pups running around and having a good time. Fox drags him to the refreshments to spiek the punch with him.
Q11) What does (12)Savvy find when they finally turn up late for the surprise party the following morning?
Ah - a bunch of sleepy/hungover but angry enemy Lupes about to kick his ass out of their territory.
Q11.b) Why on earth is Chris fixated with surprise parties?
*laughs* I need Dobes to throw me one!
Q12) (9)Bounder just offered to drop you off at work/school. How do you react?
I give him a big hug and kiss him on the cheek. He blushes furiously and accidentally reverses the car into a wheelie bin.
Q13) (6)Hope and (7)Flare team up to get revenge on (1)Wolverine, who recently betrayed (10)Sundance.
*blinks* Well, after being taken over by brain slugs Wolverine turns against his own pack and betrays Sundance. His daughter Hope, who knows him well and is strong enough to do what needs to be done, enlists Flare whom she feels has some special power that might help to stop him.
Q14) Name four DVDs in (2)A_E's collection.
Q1) Would 3 kick 11's ass, or vise-versa?
*winces* Well, seeing as Chase is the 'Eagles Gamma male and Spirit their loyal protector, I doubt it'd happen. But I would have to say Spirit would whup Chase, cuase she's just... well, a nasty opponent. It wouldn't be easy, though.
Q2) Descirbe what would happen if 8 and 1 joined forces to throw a surprise party for 6.
I somehow can't see Psy working with Shar for long, who's all-round a bit mopey and sad. They DEFINATELY would not throw their enemy Killer a party. Unless it were a cover-up for the fact Psy's about to rip his head off.
Q3) You are lost in a strange forest, with night rolling in, mist curling around your ankles and a steadily bleeding wound on your left arm. You run into 10. What happens?
I'd... probably be startled. Omehn would stare disgustedly at the pathetic injured human and yank me towards civilzation, shoving me pointedly out of his forest.
Q4) What would happen if your boss was 2?
Erm... ok, I'm working for Anzarah. As he's often busy with his Shield-stuff, he'd probably ask me to look out for his family, or if the timeline was right, Hiij.
Q5) Are there any circumstances 12 and 7 would get together?
*dies laughing* That's Dralmorde and Angel. Absoultely, positively, utterly and completely not a chance in hell.
Q6) What is 8's favourite food?
I've always imagined Psy as quite the canivore, being very sensible and not overly sentimental about issues like killling to survive. Perhaps she's fond or rabbit or quail or something? Dark O?
Q7) As part of a team-building exercise, 3, 5, and 11 have to build a raft and cross a river...
Chasefire, Daverone, and Spirit. Well, Spirit is extremly practical, Chase has excellent leadership qualities and Daverone is... built like a mountian. Chase tells Spirit to draw up the plans, and helps Daverone gather the raw materials. Spirit takes over building of the raft when everything is ready, makes a neat little watercraft, and they set sail. Half-way they nevertheless sink becuase of Daverone's mountianlike mass and they swim to the other side.
Q8) If 1 had a middle name, what would it be?
Shar - his full name is Shooting Star, which is kinda fitting and difficult to split with a middle name. Shooting... Lost... Star?
Q9) What is the most likely reason for 9 challenging 7 to mortal combat?
Steel just challenged Dralmorde, now THAT would be a battle and a half!!!! The reason would have to be the Bleeding Moon are threatening Zeb's Pack, and Steel, who sees things pretty much black and white, charges off to murder the BM Alpha to put a stop to things.
Q10) 4 and 8 just turned up for 6's surprise party.
I just became aware 8, Psy, was already there. Zeb turns up. She isn't all that fond of Killer. She watches calmly as Psylocke tears his head off and wishes him many happy returns.
Q11) What does 12 find when they finally turn up late for the surprise party the following morning?
A poor traumatised Angel finds a headless Killer, with Zeb and Psy calmly eating party food and keeping an eye on each other, and Shar passed out in a drunken torpor.
Q12) 9 just offered to drop you off at work/school. How do you react?
I cower to imagine Steel driving. I wonder who on earth licensed him and what Zeb had against me and is using him for in her latest plot?
Q13) 6 and 7 team up to get revenge on 1, who recently betrayed 10.
Killer and Dralmorde are allies, so every chance they'd team up. Against Shar - well they've proba...
If Your Life Was A Movie, What Would The Soundtrack Be?
So, here's how it works:
1. Open your library (iTunes, Winamp, Media Player, iPod, etc)
2. Put it on shuffle
3. Press play
4. For every question, type the song that's playing
5. When you go to a new question, press the next button
6. Don't lie and try to pretend you're cool
I stole the ocncept of using this for a character from  Done for my character Wolverine!
Opening Credits:
Pink - Trouble. Yep, this works for Wolvie!
Waking Up: The disco version of Unwritten by Natasha Beddingfield. *headtilt* O-kay...
First Day at School: Wake me up when September Ends, sung by some weird dude. Erm, Wolvie is badly beaten up on his first day of school? Actually it's more likely so many kids annoyed him he beat them all up until collapsing in an exhasted, contented heap. Yep.
Making Your New Best Friend:
The Great Divide - Scott Stapp. This works alright as a best friend song, although if it were between two guys the lyrics could be seen as slightly homosexual. Still, it works for a loyal, supportive best friend, which would be either Shultz or Satin for Wolvie, so that still works.
Falling In Love:
*giggle* The Lion Sleeps Tonight from the Lion King 3.  Wolvie was... sleepy... when he met Tae?
Breaking Up:
Let's get it started, Black Eyed Peas. Hmm... doesn't really fit, seeing as breakups don't exactly seem like a good starting point for... much. Although the beat and some of the lyrics DO fit Wolverine, eheh!
Prom:
Wolvie at the prom!!! *snickers* In a TUX! Call me when you're Sober, Evanessence. Errrrr... that's a hell of a prom.
Graduation:
Behind Blue Eyes, Limp Bizkit. Well, that just isn't Wolvie OR Graduation. He had dark eyes and he isn't a liar or emotionly empty.
Life's Okay:
I'll Be - Edward someone or other. It's from the Cinderella Story soundtrack *cowers* Yeah... life's ok.
Death Of A Close Friend:
Ok, my OTHER version of Wake Me Up when September ends, the proper one Green Day sung. This works, for sure.
Mental Breakdown:
Return to Innocence, Enigma - err, in no way is this lovely song a mental breakdown song. Besides, Wolvie has those so often they're commonplace by now
Driving:
*dies laughing* Alright, IRONY. 'Drive' By Incubus. *snicker*
Flashback:
The extended remix of Chumbawumba's Tubthumpin'. Wolvie's clearly flashnig back to some vicotorious battles, or... days out drinking with the lads?
Getting Back Together:
Right Kind of Wrong, Lian Rymes. Who I really dislike, for the record, I just love Coyote's Ugly's soundtrack. Yup, Wolvie realized Tae is certainly the right kind of wrong!
Birth of Child:
Truely Madly Deeply by Savage Garden. Eeee, the birth of the pups!
Wedding Scene:
Why Don't you and I, by Chad Kroger and Santana. This could work for the wedding, but it's not overly romantic or anything. And I definately didn't notice Wolvie following Tae around like a love-sick puppy
Car Accident:
Prisoner of Society by the Living End. *blink* Ok, so Wolvie crashed the car as... a an example that today's youth won't be opressed. Maybe he crashed it into a government building?
Final Battle:
*giggles madly* MC Lars' Download This Song. This would be one hell of a bouncy and upbeat final battle, and I highly doubt Wolvie would be battling copyright laws *snicker*
Death Scene:
Creed's My Sacrifice. Yep. *clings madly to Wolvie*
Funeral Song:
J-Z and Linkin Park, Numb Vs Encore. Somehow Encore is just plain ironic for a funeral, and Numb is more about the pressure of failing to live up to someone else's standards, but nevertheless there's a feel and a beat to this that is awfully heavy-hearted and might work.
End Credits
An extended version of 'Great Spirits' fro mthe Brother Bear soundtrack. While the dramatic feel might work, the lyrics are about learning tolerance and being guided by the powers above. Hmm.
Wolvie's life would be interesting to watch.
