~rebootclub is getting near the 30,000 mark! That sounds like an important number, doesn't it? It's big, anyways. Whoever can get me proof they have the 30000th hit (or the closest to 30000) will receive one of two things: (1) their own interview, to be posted here on ~rebootclub, or (2) their very own ReBoot icon/pendant! Well, if they prototypes work out. If that doesn't happen, the winner will get commissioned fanart from myself, ~boggart.

So, how do you prove you hit the big 30000? Send me a screengrab. PC users can get a screengrab by pressing the "Print Scrn" button on the upper right of your keyboard. Mac users can use the apple key, shift, and 4 on their keyboard. They can also use the program "Grab" that comes with the Mac. Copy the image into a graphics program like Photoshop, Painter, or even good ol' Paint. You then save the file as a bmp, png, gif, jpg, etc. Then you can either e-mail me the screengrab (enchantress51 at hotmail dot com) or upload it to a site like Photobucket (which supports all the aforementioned file formats), or your deviant Scraps if you prefer, and send the link in a note to ~rebootclub

We’ve all wondered, at one time or another: What would the characters of ReBoot look like if they existed in our world, as real flesh and blood people? Would Bob still be blue? Would Daemon have a belly button? Might Matrix bear an uncanny resemblance to Vin Diesel?

Now this is the great part. You think your drawing skills aren’t up to snuff? No problem. I’ll be allowing photomanipulation! That’s right, no drawing required. Break out your copy of Photoshop, Paint, whatever graphics program you prefer. Don’t have one? Just run a Google search for “Free Photo editing program”. There is a plethora of free software to choose from (though I’ve heard good things about GIMP).

CHALLENGE:
1. Portray, either through drawing/painting or photomanipulation (or a combination of the two) a cannon ReBoot character as a real person (real as in the User world, or our world).
2. Cannon refers to any established character that has made a notable appearance on the show (comic-only characters do not count). Examples would include Bob, Captain Capacitor, Mouse, Frisket, etc.

GENERAL RULES:
1. Only members of ~rebootclub can submit entries. If you'd like to join, please see this journal: [link]
2. Entries must be rated no higher than PG-13. That means no excessive violence, nudity, drug use, or offensive language.
3. Only two entries are allowed per person.
4. Up to two people may jointly work on an entry, but only one person will receive the prize.
5. You may submit previously created work, if it hasn't already been uploaded to ~rebootclub.
6. All media is welcome, including mixing traditional media (paintings, drawings, etc.) with digital manipulations.

TRADITIONAL MEDIA/HANDRAWN RULES:
1. If you use a photo of an actual person as a reference, please include a link to it in your original submission, if possible. If the reference photo is taken from deviantART, please follow any rules the original artist has about their work.

PHOTOMANIPULATION RULES:
1. You may use any celebrity photo or image of a real person found via search engine as a base. You can even use a photo of yourself, if you're feeling brave. A link to the base photo would be appreciated, but not required.
2. If you use any resources (photos, brushes, background, etc.) from deviantART, you must link back to them in your gallery submission, even if the original artist does not request it. You must also follow all other stipulations the artist requires in the description of the original work.
3. If you are using resources from other websites that require documentation, please include it in the deviation description.
4. If you are submitting a previously created manip, and you cannot credit all the resources used, I may not be able to take your entry.

SUBMITTING YOUR ENTRY:
1. Upload your submission to your dA gallery.
2. If use are doing any photomanipulation, make sure to include links to your resources are included in the deviation description.
3. Note ~rebootclub with a link to your deviation. Title the note something like “Doppleganger Contest”.
4. Also be sure to include any description you would like included in the contest entry. All resources links will be included regardless.

PRIZE (UPDATED):
The winner will receive a free commissioned fanart from one of our members, *jameson9101322! It has to be ReBoot, of course, but any other details will be left to the discretion of *jameson9101322 and the winner.

DEADLINE:
The evening of Monday August 18th, 2008. That gives ya’ll more than a month. Hopefully, everyone will be able get their entries in before they get caught up with school.

First big hoedown of the summer, folks! Inspired by this fantastic collab [link] (and maybe some Marvel Zombies, too) I am putting together the Great Zombie March. It will be a monstrous collaboration between various ~rebootclub members, in which pretty much every ReBoot character will be zombiefied. Because everyone loves zombies, kay?

Here’s how it works: I’ve made a list of ReBoot characters (some in their numerous manifestations). You guys pick which one you want to draw as zombie. This will be first come, first serve. You note ~rebootclub with the character you want, and I’ll put your name down. Each club member will be allowed one character. However, if two of you want to work together, say drawing Matrix and AndrAIa having creepy zombie makeout, or Bob eating Mouses’s brains, go for it. EDIT: It's up to the you to contact the other party if you want to collab. Just make sure one of you note with your characters, and your plans to work together.

Submitting:
When you’re finished with your zombie pic, upload it to your gallery, and then note me with a link. Once I have all (or most) of the zombies, I’ll put them all together in one huge pic (a la [link]). Voila, we have a zombie march! Note: these pics will not be uploaded individually to the club, and will not be eligible for Featured Deviations.

Rules/Requirements:
* One character per member.
* First come, first serve.
* Collabs are allowed between 2 members.
* Submissions MUST be black and white/grayscale. No color, no background.
* Normal proportions (non-chibi) are best.
* Keep it PG13 and below. No swearing, excessive violence, sex, drug use, and in this instance, no over the top gore.
* Try to keep the image fairly high res, so in case I need to resize, your pic won’t get ugly and pixelated.
* This is a march (or maybe a chase?), so let’s try to have everyone mostly shambling along in a left to right direction. If need be, I can flip an image to make it face the right direction.

Getting up this FD up took so long because I was sick for several days, and have just now finished with finals. So I'm somewhat free to cook up some fun stuff for the club to do over the summer.

Now, I'm heading off to a real university come fall. That is priority before ~rebootclub, I'm afraid. Of course, I'll do everything I can to keep this club alive, but my role as admin may be somewhat diminished. I may not be around nearly as much; I will probably put the club on official hiatus for (hopefully) short periods of time. If it gets really bad, I may even select a co-admin to keep things in check when I can't. But whatever happens, I'm going to continue being a part of the ReBoot fandom until it kills me.

~rebootclub is nearing 25,000 hits (that's a big shiny number, isn't it?). I got some fantastic suggestions when I asked for contest ideas; there's some I'd really like to use in the future. Thanks to everyone who commented! (if you'd like to suggest more contest ideas, please see this journal: [link])

But since Valentine's Day is next month and I'm a closet romantic, we're having a contest I'll call Digital Amore (that doesn't sound dirty, does it?). Right, on with all those fun rules and whatnot.

CHALLENGE:
1) Draw a cannon couple doing something you feel is romantic. To clarify, we'll consider "cannon" obvious couples like Matrix + AndrAIa or Bob + Dot, and couples that are hinted at or suggested, like Bob + Mouse, AndrAIa + Ray, or Matrix + Bula (*snerk*), etc. If you are unsure about a couple you'd like to portray, please comment here or note ~rebootclub.
2) Write a fic about a cannon couple doing something you feel is romantic. See (1) for examples of cannon couples.

RULES:
* Only members of ~rebootclub can submit entries. If you'd like to join, please see this journal: [link]
* Entries must be rated no higher no PG-13. No naughty stuff, k? Note ~rebootclub if you're unsure about your entry.
* Only a maximum of two entries are allowed per person.
* You may submit previously created work, if it hasn't already been uploaded to ~rebootclub.
* Up to two people may jointly work on a entry, but you'll have to share the prize if you win.

Mac users can use the apple key, shift, and 4 on their keyboard. They can also use the program "Grab" that comes with the computer. Copy the image into a graphics program like Photoshop, Painter, or even Paint. You then save the file as a bmp, png, gif, jpg, etc. Then you can either e-mail me the screengrab (enchantress51 at hotmail dot com) or upload it to a site like Photobucket (which supports all the aforementioned file formats) and send the link in a note to ~rebootclub.

The Plug-in is a "is a companion sketchbook containing all brand new images that are not in the Art of ReBoot". It also includes commentary by Ian Pearson and Gavin Blair, and has a limited run of 500 copies (sorry, this will not be the signed version).

I hope everyone's working on their entries! The deadline is the evening of Saturday September 15 2007!

All older entries (anything uploaded to ~rebootclub prior to 4/25/07) will have comments disabled, the club description will be altered to reflect the new submission process, and deviants will be encouraged to make further comments and +favs at the original deviation. If there is not an original deviation in the original artist's gallery... uh... I suppose I'll won't change anything.

Even though the comments may disappear, they're not gone. So, later on, if you want your comments turned back on, I can do that. But any new submissions (anything uploaded to ~rebootclub after 2/7/07) will remain the same.

Don't forget! We have a CONTEST. And Zeros to Heroes is allowing fans to upload their own character designs to the pitches (just make sure you read the Terms and Conditions carefully.

Can't stand Bob's spandex, or Turbo's shoulder pads? Just HATE that blue and orange color scheme? Ever think you could make a better Guardian uniform? Here's your chance!

CHALLENGE! Redesign one of the following:
* The everyday Guardian outfit (what Bob wears all the time)
* The Guardian dress uniform (what Trojan Megabyte/Fake Bob wore a the wedding)
* The Prime Guardian uniform (what Turbo wears)
* Or just make one up from scratch! You are in no way required to design something that even remotely resembles the original design.

SOURCES: If you need any reference pictures of Bob's regular uniform, you can check out the Season 1 Screeenshots section of Pixelacious. If any other ReBoot references are needed, please feel free to comment here or note ~rebootclub and I will be happy to get some screenshots of anything from Seasons 3 or 4.

You can design this in whatever format you like (digital, traditional, textile, etc.), but the following rules apply:

RULES:
* Entry must be PG13. That means no naughty bits.
* You must upload the entry to your deviantART gallery before submitting.
* The uniform may be for males, females, or gender neutral. Modeling the uniform on a body isn't necessary, but if you are going to, model it on an actual ReBoot character, or a mannequin. Example: Modeling it on Dot or Bob would be okay, but not on Naturo or Goku.
* No more than two entries per person.
* Submissions must be sent to ~rebootclub via note. The note must contain a link to the original deviation, and any description you would like to be included.
* You may submit a previously created artwork, as long as it has not been already uploaded to ~rebootclub.

DEADLINE: the evening of Saturday September 15 2007. That gives you a month and a half from today.

PRIZE: The winning artist will receive their own copy of The Art of ReBoot.

The winner will be determined by ~rebootclub members. Voting will begin about a week after the deadline.

NOTE: This has nothing to do with Zeroes 2 Heroes. ~rebootclub is not affiliated with Z2H in any way. And I had this idea before I heard about Z2H. However, you are perfectly free to submit any of your own ~rebootclub deviations to Z2H.

I have a few ideas of my own, but I'd LOVE to hear what sort of contest our members would like to participate in!

My ideas:
(1) Redesign the Guardian uniform (art only)
(2) Non-Canon Couples (art and fanfics)

FYI: Non-Canon would be stuff, to quote Wikipedia, "genuine or officially sanctioned." So Dot/Bob = canon, while Ray/Hex = non-canon.

I plan on holding the contest sometime toward the end of July.

Any comments, suggestions, or questions would nice. ^^
