Last Saturday, I watched Transformers 2 with my mama and sis, and much later, I watched the Gay Men's Chorus of Los Angeles perform at the legendary ALEX Theater (which is in Glendale) all on my own. I managed to reserve ten tickets for participating members and guests of Gay-Straight Alliance Club of Glendale High. Not bad for the Senior Club Treasurer of GSA, huh?

It's been forever since I last made a journal entry. Christmas and New Year's Day was a sluggish blast... And the weeks that followed those days are plagued with work! NYAPPY~!! EDIT CORNER 12/2/08:

Me and my sister, Sohi, just came six hours ago from the gig in Glenoaks Park for the Glendale Beautiful Club. (I know, the name is lame to most of you guys reading this entry.) The GHS Bell Choir members had to leave Period 3 to have a rehearsal, and boy, was I a nervous wreck. I'm in a constant state of emotional flux, changing from a happy pessimist to a gittery retard. Trust me, this was the first I had to perform for a crowd... In a country I've been staying for two years. (I sucked back home since I had no "God given" talent that my countrymen would [suck off from me by being a total sell out] be proud of showcasing.)

Loading the equiptment was not easy for all of us, for the most part. Imagine carrying a huge case of bells into a truck (Our choir teacher's BELL MOBILE, )... Well, let's just say that's not the bells we're using. Five giant cases that carry the enormous bass bells (the heaviest is C-3, being 12 pounds heavy), four collapsable tables (made out of wood and steel, I guess), the foam we use to lay our bells on the table (which are pretty big to carry, and we had about six-seven fridge-door big foam pads...), two music stands... The mallets, folders, and banner were easy to carry. But the ones that went before the mallets and all, they weren't easy to carry in dresses. It didn't really help much to have two medium-built guys in Bells, to be honest.

We left as soon as we figuratively busted some class ditchers' balls by slamming the gate on their faces and made a run for it. The choir members, including myself and my sister, rode three different vehicles to get onto location. AND GUESS WHAT? I TOOK A RIDE ON THE BELL MOBILE!

The performance we did at the Glenoaks Clubhouse was almost perfect if I didn't forget to play five measures in bass for "Angels We Have Heard On High..." That was my weakest song. But I don't seem terrible at some songs, though... The thing that made me freeze my skull in a mental block was that there was this lady from the Glendale Press who was taking pictures while we were playing. She took a picture of me and my friend A.B. when we weren't playing any measure that both of us were afraid we'd miss our parts.

BTW, our audience were the oldies... They were a terrific crowd. Enthusiastic, too. Well, that's one gig and seven more to go!

NYAPPY~!! DEUX 12/8/08:

I'm aware I'm using the same long-ass, boring journal to post up for the Thursday Bells gig that I forgot to tell you guys about. I'm lazy, and I can't help it! I'm bitten by the lazy flu bug that my sister caught. The poor deary was weary when we got home (early from Bell Choir, amazingly) that I became the motherly older sister that I am, strangely... And oddly, it just happened at the right time.

Thursday, the fourth, we performed at a retirement home in La Cresenta. All I could tell you, lovelies, is that it's definitely not a walk in the park. For my part, that is. I forgot after the performance, I FORGOT MY AGE! Yeah, I totally blanked out maybe from the fact I was surrounded by adorable oldies in the retirement home that some of the grannie symptoms rubbed off from me. Early. Up to this day, I'm the butt of jokes in the choir. "Hi, I'm Ren MXXXXXXXXXXX from Glendale Senior High, and I'm fifteen-- no, sixteen...(shakes head frantically) I'm seventeen years old, I'm sorry. I just forgot I turned seventeen two months ago--" OH, SOMEONE BITE ME DEAD ALREADY!

So, a few hours ago, Bells had another gig at a very familiar place. And that's where my mom works, apparently. (I bet you $10,000,000 that my sister will kick my ass if she ever saw this part of the journal.)(Too late, she just woke up. Ren's Ass-Whooping Time......

Yes, the title of this entry is telling the truth. It's Thanksgiving in the U.S. and I'm celebrating it Pinoy style with my relatives in Northern California despite the fact I'm not an American. Err, what am I thankful for? Well, I'm thankful I have a roof over my head and a cozy bed that keeps me warm as I sleep. I'm thankful for having a computer connected to the Net and a 3-in-1 printer-scanner-copier and a fridge full of food. I'm gracious for friends and family, even though my dad's not here with us yet. I'm most grateful for a hard-working mother who raised me well and who had sacrificed so much for a family that is stuck like glue through tough times and smiles, and for a dad who supported me and encourage me to pursue what makes me happy. I'm thankful of my little sister who cared for me, although I should be the one taking good care of her. Overall, I'm happy for a family that supports me and will be there whenever I need them.

Okay, ranting aside. Now you know that it's Thanksgiving here, you now know the first reason why I'm not going to be here or online for this week. The second reason is that I need to recharge my entire being so I can write more, draw more, do more artistic stuff to be submitted to this dA account and my ff.net account "The Martian Anemone." Plus, I'm long overdue for my Feldscher omake that I owe ...

Halloween was two days ago, and I completely forgot to take a picture of myself in my costume yesterday. My waifu was dressed up like some dark kunoichi-esque character... with a parasol... Hehe, I looked like an authentic yakuza from the 1800's... In Gintoki's universe, that is...

Seriously, I'm over it. I'm back, I'm writing, I've been here five days after the incident. I'm okay. I just took a mental health vacation.

On that day I got the notices, I had a terrible day. A very crabby Ren M-------------- from school with the added ^!#$%&^*&(_(_)^(*%&^$^#%@%^%*&L":L>{}|P)&%^#~#$%^&*<>?":}{) didn't help ease at all. And for that, I formally apologize to those who took my reaction in the most negative of ways.

On another note, I'm pissed as hell's icy fury. Why did you delete mine out of the screenshots that people posted in this site? My Shigeru Kanburi Avvie was altered by me, I told everybody that the Miyavi GIF was not mine, the Miyavi devID was altered, too. But all the bases for these deviations are not generated from me.

I believe it's very unfair that you deleted them, you know.

says: Huh? What the hell is this? (reads the entire chapter) Shit, that's what I get after two chapters being there (after all the crazy shit). I'm out... (rereads, comes across page 8) Hold on, is that Tapp? And on another note, Lavi?! (faints, falls from seat)

says: You just noticed me now, Yuu? We've been here in the Ranting Corner for twenty minutes... (is hurt) I can't believe that I've been by your side the whole entire time and you just see me now?!

(Kanda is unresponsive on the floor, nosebleeds)

says: Er, Ravi-dono, I think he's really knocked out...

(Lavi gets off his seat, tries to shake him awake)

: Yuu-chan, please don't die on me! Wake up! Oh, no, it's like your fanfics, ~ren!, except Yuu's the one that dies! (cries, blubbers)

: Focus, you two! (shakes Kanda awake, Kanda grunts alert, shoves both ren and Lavi, seats back down) Is Leverrier with the Order or with the Earl?

: (reads the chapter) Wow, no wonder Yuu fainted, I'm hot.

: (facepalms) Just answer the question.

I slept at 2:30 A.M. earlier this day in attempt to finish the recently uploaded "reihiko's Majestic ART..." and I woke up at 5:30 A.M. to prepare for my sister's Freshman Orientation in my high school. Man, it was terrible! I had a stomachache in the morning... Plus, I was basically alone since the teachers shoo-ed me and the Freshie parents/relatives/guardians since the orientation was to inform Nitro Freshmen (don't ask, our school mascot is an oversized stick of TNT) about the school that they're about to enter (and to spend years of torture, like THE POPULAR CLIQUES STICK NAMES ON YOUR @$$ and SOLVING FOR X IN VENUS FLYTRAP PHOTOSYNTHESIS. Pardon my pessimism).

And it all started with a wake-up call (more like a text message) to my friend, Jigs* (name changed). He asked if I already got my schedule for the new school year (which will be in a couple of days) and when I told him that I did, which was earlier in the morning when the school was practically a ghost town with no open bathrooms, he was kind of in shock on how I managed to pull such a feat. Eventually, I was able to convince Jigs to come over and pick up his schedule and SENIOR ID card.

When he arrived and after giving me a heart attack, we went to get his schedule in a Bungalow near the field. Honestly, seeing his ID made me laugh, remembering he and his friend switched places during last year's Yearbook picture. Three girls who were in charge of giving the schedules, IDs and the optional ASB card membership, kept stalling shit... But, they bought the whole "I went to bootcamp, that's why I'm skinny-shit" excuse Jigs pulled out of his @$$. Then, there was the doughnuts. And I bought the drinks!

Still waiting for my sister, Jigs and I practically went around the school a myriad of times, rambling and eating doughnuts and annoying each other and talking about a person we missed in common (a shout-out from Jigs to ~Tarnished-Soul, I MISS YOU!). We got bored when I couldn't find a good comeback and the doughnuts basically clogged our brain from thinking, so we decided to give out the extras to whoever we meet. But, the doughnuts ended up with my sister, which then to her LINK Crew guide. Trust me, I'm now in trouble with the school's... I don't know, ASB Members, LINK Crew...

Okay, fast forward...

I found a green caterpillar coiled on the ground. I poked it lightly with a pen, but it won't move.

Well, thank you for going to this journal entry. I must guess that you, the one who was linked to this page, must wonder... WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT?! That was $#!+, you dolt! It wasted eff'n wasted (insert time spent reading SONNETS) of my time, I could have gotten (insert what you missed while reading SONNETS), so thanks a lot, you $#!++Y writer!

(Or to those who didn't think so that I suck balls, ignore my current state of pessimism. I'm frustrated about the fact I don't know what to do since I'm at a great dearth of inspiration to write or create art... Pardonnez-moi mille fois, mon cheries.)

For No Lullabies For Mellon Collie Tonight...:

It's basically an AU about a sixteen year-old Lavi writing about how he doesn't have a muse. He ponders about all the times he spent with Kanda. I really don't know what else is there. Oh, Lavi just realized that Kanda might be the muse he's looking for... I think. This is named after my failed "Lullaby of Requiem" series and Smashing Pumpkins's album "Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness."

For The Silent Midnight Rain...:

Kanda's thoughts on Lavi, just after he confessed to him that he wants him to be his muse. Well, there's a time lapse between sonnets. Somehow, Kanda feels it's all one-sided... He thinks Lavi just made him a muse for the sake of writing and that his love will never be returned by the redhead Bookman-in-training.

For Confined on My Bed...:

A fluff of LaviYuu... From the point of view of Lavi. It's self-explanatory.

The last part was an excerpt of Hale's "Broken Sonnet", which I simply used to express Kanda's response to Lavi's cut-off last sentence.

Breath-taking and it leaves me speechless. I first saw her in the Saturday edition of the Philippine Daily Inquirer (top selling newspaper back home), on the Lifestyle (it's a long while ago) section. The paper was showcasing beautiful works from talented fashion designers, from clothes to jewelry and accessories. Out of all the featured works (which I loved all of them), one person stood out.

Ms. Christine Marie Cielo Fronteras, a single mother at twenty-two, became more than just a designer to me. She's like this one person I totally respect besides the talent she's produced. God, I remember in seventh grade, I went to this place the newspaper said that sold her masterpieces (it was called mag:net Cafe)... I saved shitloads of moolah to just get a firefly brooch that she made. Man, that made my day years ago. And I still have it with me up to now. Many people have seen that brooch and asked me where I got it or whether I can make one for them (thinking I made that... not by a long shot!).

She won my respect when I read an article about her, and her story also convinced me that she is one of the best examples of using family as inspiration to create. Geez, I wish to be her... Using family bonds as a starting impetus for art.

Four days before the end of my "Junior" year (to my fellow RETARDZ, you know what I'm saying), so I'd like to take a moment to propose a toast to all my graduating collegues in GHS, specially to my wifey ~tmiwuvsu, and wish 'em Godspeed and prosperity to you all. All that stands in the way of the end of the school year is my GUSD Spring Semester Finals. The dreaded year-ender finals. [To hell with 'em, I'd pwn the muthaf*ckers and pop a cap on their ass... I think.] Wow, that was explosively easy.

Summer school for the credit. If I want to be in AP Spanish 7-8 and get my ass to Barcelona one day, take a crash course of Spanish 3-4 in the summer so by next year I'd be only a step closer to AP Spanish. (In speaking of which, I'd be an embarrassment to my Spanish great-granddaddy [who I'm thankful for my existance] as a Mesti-chinita [Spanish-Chinese descent] Pinay...). Plus, I'm applying for a parttime job at a grand bookstore for three simple reasons:

1. Money to spend on D.Gray-Man volumes, yaoi doujinshi, "The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde", art materials, a Nintendo DS (or a Wii), movie tickets on 3M night (don't ask), bills, driving permit/license, Nendoroid L and B... more novels to add to my library, a bookshelf that you could put under the bed...

No, not "Zetsubou Billy." I Zetsubou Sensei for its bizaare twist in the modernized, fictional Showa Era... Hilarious characters with very odd (yet ironic) names, it's epic. The bizaare level of hilarity would turn heads (if you're a normie, a boring one) but would attract oddballs to watch the nitwitlity antics of Class 2-He's shoujo-tachi and the emo-core, suicide sensei who loves to contradict himself when he almost dies (when he's trying to kill himself ) would make you laugh hard through your nose! The opening and ending sequences and songs are brilliantly colorful with dark humor and surrealistic art~! I love it!

And after watching this a long time ago, I was wondering if ABS-CBN (a TV channel in the Philippines) had Naruto Shippuuden already dubbed in Filipino. I remember scolding Jemm, a.k.a. , about not watching the series and for being lazy enough not to catch up with the story. Well, it was a long ass time ago. I already forgave her. Now, I'm just nagging her to watch it, or read it in onemanga.com, so that she wouldn't complain her little Itachi-loving fangirl ass when something goes terribly wrong with her lovey-dovey. (<= I can't believe I said that, sou nandarou~! De go~zaru~!!!)

Anywho... The song used in that video above is by a Pinoy alternative rock band called Silent Sanctuary. I'll try to translate it for those who don't speak my mother tongue.

I was walking around in a Target store, when I saw a Cashier hand this little boy some money back.

The boy couldn't have been more than 5 or 6 years old.

The Cashier said, 'I'm sorry, but you don't have enough money to buy this doll.'

Then the little boy turned to the old woman next to him: ''Granny,

are you sure I don't have enough money?''

The old lady replied: ''You know that you don't have enough money to buy this doll, my dear.''

Then she asked him to stay there for just 5 minutes while she went to look a round. She left quickly.

The little boy was still holding the doll in his hand.

Finally, I walked toward him and I asked him who he wished to give this doll to.

'It's the doll that my sister loved most and wanted so much for Christmas.

She was sure that Santa Claus would bring it to her.'

I replied to him that maybe Santa Claus would bring it to her after all, and not to worry.

But he replied to me sadly. 'No, Santa Claus can't bring it to her where she is now. I have to give the doll to my mommy so that she can give it to my sister when she goes there.'

His eyes were so sad while saying this. 'My Sister has gone to be with God. Daddy says that Mommy is going to see God very soon too, so I thought that she could take the doll with her to give it to my sister.''

My heart nearly stopped.

The little boy looked up at me and said: 'I told daddy to tell mommy not to go yet. I need her to wait until I come back from the mall.'

Then he showed me a very nice photo of him where he was laughing. He then told me 'I want mommy to take my picture with her so she won't forget me.'

'I love my mommy and I wish she doesn't have to leave me, but daddy says that she has to go to be with my little sister.'

Then he looked again at the doll with sad eyes, very quietly.

I quickly reached for my wallet and said to the boy. 'Suppose we check again, just in case you do have enough money for the doll?''

'OK' he said, 'I hope I do have enough.' I added some of my money to his with out him seeing and we started to count it. There was enough for the doll and even some spare money.

The little boy said: 'Thank you God for giving me enough money!'

Then he looked at me and added, 'I asked last night before I went to sleep for God to make sure I had enough money to buy this doll, so that mommy could give It to my sister. He heard me!''

'I also wanted to have enough money to buy a white rose for my mommy, but I didn't dare to ask God for too much. But He gave me enough to buy the doll and a white rose.''

'My mommy loves white roses.'

A few minutes later, the old lady returned and I left with my basket.

I finished my shopping in a totally different state from when I started.

I couldn't get the little boy out of my mind.

Then I remembered a local news paper article two days ago, which mentioned a drunk man in a truck, who hit a car occupied by a young
woman and a little girl.

The little girl died right away, and the mother was left in a critical

state. The family had to decide whether to pull the plug on the

life-sustaining machine, because the young woman would not be able to recover from the coma.

Was this the family of the little boy?

Two days after this encounter with the little boy, I read in the news paper that the young woman had passed away.

I couldn't stop myself as I bought a bunch of white roses and I went to the funeral home where the body of the young woman was exposed for people to see and make last wishes before her burial.

She was there, in her coffin, holding a beautiful white rose in her hand with the photo of the little boy and the doll placed over her chest.

I left the place, teary-eyed, feeling that my life had been changed for ever.. The love that the little boy had for his mother and his sister is still, to this day, hard to imagine.

Bleach03 is a really good indie/screamo/j-rock/hardcore punk rock three-girl band from Okinawa that I discovered from reading an American J-rock Rev magazine called "Purple Rain". I searched for the band in myspace.com, and there was only one result though. I was just sad when I saw how many results came out, which was only one. Anywho, I listened to their songs... Two Weeks Prior School Year's Beginning...

Sigh... There's really a lot that I must tell you, but really... You wouldn't want me to kill you guys with this entry. So, I'll make this as quick and painless as possible.

How life has been:

1. Doing very well in Chemistry, English, and Geometry. (Quite the opposite of how my friends from WRetardz are experiencing Junior Year back home. I offer you my sympathies and a tutorial from me.) Spanish is also muy bien, due to the fact I'm 1/16 paternally Spanish and I studied Japanese as a third language.

2. Praised in Art and World History. I'm not so proud of it, 'cause some of my classmates mooch off from me.

3. Last Thursday, my sixth period Spanish went to another Spanish class for one thing... BAILE MERENGE! So, I had a dance partner who happens to be a Freshman boy from my class and is two years younger than me. But we make a pretty good dance couple... We were the best of our class. Little did I know, I have the Reyes Tango gene in my gene pool.

4. I'm equally bombarded with homework, but I finish in time. Right now, I have five homeworks to do and a test to study for on Monday.

5. I'm currently kicking it back, as you can see. I visited my Gaia Online Account to change my look (add me as my username= Uzumaki Hotaru). I'm also in pigtails in reality, which I normally don't do. Something tells me that my inner Haruko Haruhara is starting to blossom out.

6. All's same and well. 'Cept, I was tardy for more than seven times since classes began. Maybe from being yo-yoed from one building to another.

7. Teachers are giving me offers to join Advance Art, Construction, Symphonic Orchestra, High School Christian Club for Asians... and many more that I forgot. Where'd the last one come from? Maybe they offered 'cause of how I act as me in school... What's next, Opera and Drama? :sarcastic: Oh, yippee.

That's for my eggheaded geek rants, for now. Last announcements:

1. To or to anyone with problems with subjects mentioned on the first sentence of the first "How's life", tutorials are available here at dev. Inform me by leaving me a note in this journal and I will scan my notes and post 'em here.

2. As for deviations, I have to collect my works first. So be patient if I haven't updated fics and art.

I'll Just Make It Quick and Painless...

My school just started today, and boy, it's pretty hot here in California. School + a heat like 119 degrees F hot + two heavy textbooks + turning over my borrowed violin = makes a really bad day to begin the school year. But, after all, I'm just in high school... C'est la vie!

My subjects may have become tricky now I'm a year older, but my teachers make it easier for me. They're angels in martinet's skin... And this is it:

On the beginning of the day = Geometry on Period 1
Period 2 = English
Period 3 = History
Period 4 = Art
Period 5 = Chemistry
Period 6 = Espanol (it's Es-pan-nyol, but they don't have the ennye) to end the day.

Believe me, I'm being yo-yoed from Point J to Point B, Point B to J, J to F, F to J, then Point J to B! The worst thing is that Orchestra wants me there so I can continue learning violin from where I left off. Thing is, Period 3 Orchestra is available and ~daisukitsumo is in that class... I'm in deep shit now.

But, I'm looking forward to be a finalist in the National Honor Roll, even if the hard subjects kill me! I will live for I am ~#@*&%$@ =>~$) !@)(&*^%$#?!@, artist-in-training!

Wish me luck...

Just a month left for summer vacation, I have accomplished four things in my to-do list! Yes, four things out of twenty! I completely made a wreck of myself...

So, if anyone feels any pity for me, spare me the drama and get me inspired to write (or draw)! I'm a mess and I need your help and support.

And it would make me feel better if I get a partner in crime, a shitload of candy, and many gallons of tea (or sake)... Please, just rid me off my misery! Just don't think of killing me, 'cause I'd mutilate you and leave you 3/4 death on the spot... It would be a death wish to do that to a murderous artist at dearth of creative impeti like me.

I finally got my glasses. I made sure that the frame wouldn't make me look like a dorky nerd... or too sciamatifical. I now look like I'm a mature and petite !% years old, not like a bratty 12 year-old from a manga.

Besides getting glasses, I was able to upload new songs in my iPod. But that boring news.

I'm now improving on playing the violin, and it's all thanks to the new dAer, daisukitsumo! She's my violin teacher-slash-friend who is really as crazy as me. But that's why I'm so happy taking summer classes!

Oh, before I forget, I'm confessing that I'm officially over Gaara. In case moonlight-fox doesn't know.

HUZZZAAAAH! I'm finally free from the teachers and rules of American Public School! YAAAAHHHHOOOO!

I am so happy that I'm able to spend the summer updating my deviation account, with more "Lullaby of Requiem". I'm just hoping that I get to soon own or use a scanner and (maybe) a digital camera, for the sake of those people who are bugging me to post something up (in this case, drawings and sketches... and those people happen to be the multifacetted conscience I have). And, several pictures of my work in Sculpture!

Besides that, I got my iPod shuffle (2nd Generation) three weeks ago! Wheeeee! Now, it's filled mostly with my sister's indie rock songs... But at least I got my share of anime songs, too.

Okay... I will also be taking violin classes this summer from a very good friend of mine, who conviniently lives in walking distance from my school. And, maybe, I'll try to get some drawing and painting, or sculpting this summer. I really need to polish on my drawing skills... and I have to maintain control over my clumsy hands while I'm sculpting anime characters. (Note to self: TRY TO FUCKING PRACTICE ON SCULPTING AND DRAWING ANIMALS!)

Since I'll be taking violin this summer, there is a 54% chance that I'll fail and the remaining percent may go to how I'll bitch out and go Ms. Perfectionist Shit on my teacher. Yet, I pray (or something related to praying) that will never happen. If I succeed in this, I'd be joining the school orchestra next year. Yes, my dream of making my dad faint of joy will be accomplished!

Now, a review of the school year 2006-2007:

1. A tacit miracle was bestowed upon me that (suprisingly) made me, an all-girls school underdog, into a genius with a 3.7-something grade point average! That was the thing me and my father was shocked about.

2. I have made friends like I had back home! Long live the Kingdom of Anime Fans!

3. Still am the noted weirdo of the school... as usual.

4. Still the WRetardz's beloved (I think) Pathetic Genius.

5. Can still speak Tagalog... full with the accent!

6. The school's psychopath, plus the morbid threats to fellow freshmen... Teachers think I'm in serious need of preppy optimism (Note: I don't need a crappy makeover into a cheerleader, I'd rather be the school psycho!)

7. A moron tried (and successfully) to kiss me, THRICE! Good thing I will bring a katana next year and beat the living shit outta that fucking asshole! That bastard is so DEAD!

8. I practically, yet almost lost my creative impetus. And I lost my innocence... All thanks to second semester Health.

9. I almost died when my PE teacher took the whole class into a test drive by making us run TWO WHOLE FUCKING MILES! I only made 4 laps and fainted. Next thing I know, the paramedics came and took my blood for a test. The nurse at the hospital said that the puncture on my finger seems to be made by a caveman with his flint. Thus, I became P.E. inactive the rest of the year.

10. The boredom of life from the lack of watching anime. But the manga was just perfect, a good substitution to it.

11. I will soon get glasses. And... my braces. :scream:

As for the works over the last school year, I'll be posting some of the poems here on my journal. For some unknown reason, there is something wrong when I'm posting work here using the current computer I have right now. Just watch out for it.
