Big news: I've found a job, a good one, even if it's not art-related. I started last week and my free time has suddenly and hugely decreased!

But it's fine, I realise that I get more things done now, and more quikly! The only thing that still needs lots of time, planning, care, endless love and patience is drawing/painting. So this is something left for weekends only, at least for a while. Maybe once I get accostumed to my new life rythm I will find a way to draw in the evenings as well.

Anyway, I went to Lucca Comics fair last Saturday (it's the biggest comics fair held in Italy) and met lots of dearest friends that I didn't see since ages. I also met *NadezhdaVasile for the first time and met *Kanuka76 again! Time flies too fast in this occasions!
I also met Brian Froud and I finally managed to talk to him without changing my skin color (I'm a shy person

). He's such a nice and kind person. I really love his art! I bought two books from him and I had them signed. Yay!

Well, I'm off now. Tonight I will finally go to the cinema and see Stardust! I can't wait for it!

First thing: all these features in my firends' journals are great, but... hell, I don't have time to go through them all!!! So I've just started to keep them for better times, but now they are piling in my message box and they are quite a huge amount! Oh my. How people manage to browse DA as much as to watch all those great pieces of art?

I've updated my website Onirica and made some layout changes. I think now it's easier to navigate and easier for me to update. I hope you like the changes.

I will add an archive with older pictures in the future, but for the moment I prefer to keep just selected and new pictures.

On Friday I'm leaving for Frankfurt. I'm quite excited about this trip! I've been close to Frankfurt once, but never actually managed to visit the city. I will also attend the Frankfurt Book Fair, which is really huge and I hope to get some contacts with editors to show my portfolio. Wish me luck!

I wanted to make a drawing of Daenerys for a long time, but never actually managed to do it. Some days ago inspiration struck and so here she is!
For those who don't know who I'm talking about, Daenerys is one of my favourite characters from "A song of ice and fire" fantasy books by George Martin.
I'm coloring it with watercolors, but I have the feeling that this could be a great digital painting if only I had enough patience to do it properly... Let's see!

I'm also in the process of coloring this little witch, that was inspired to me by *mizzd-stock 's latest stocks. I think this will be my Halloween picture for this year

Wow! I've just come back home from the celebrations with my boyfriend and I've found two wonderful surprises! Dear *whiteshaix and *NadezhdaVasile made two drawings of my vampire drow character as presents for my birthday! Thank you so much! There would have been no better way to end this day

My dear friend *Kanuka76 has bought me a year subscription as a birthday present! Yay

I'm sooo happy! I'm too accostumed to my subscription, I think I wouldn't feel comfortable without it now! Thank you so much Kanukina!

My birthday is in 2 days. I still don't know how we're going to celebrate it, as my family is split into different directions because of a lot of little mishaps. A lot of things are happening at the same time: family problems, relatives in need, weddings, etc. I fear I'm going to celebrate it separately with my parents, then with my brother, and then with friends and my boyfriend.

I finally received my own copy of Levity and I have to say that I like very much the paging choices and the final product in general!

Yesterday I came back home from my last days of holiday. It's been a nice experience and I loved to be with my boyfriend's family. They're lovely and made me feel at home and very welcomed. They have this flat in Menton, in southern France, very close to the italian border. It's a nice city, on the sea but with mountains very close as well.

Monaco is only 10 minutes from there and we went to visit it as well! I liked it, I guess it's a kind of a unique place, so different from the lifestyle I lead and love, but interesting in its own way. I loved the gardens and the lights in the casino area.

Yay! The new layout of my website is up and running!
I hope there are no funny things with the code, I've been testing it for days and it should be ok now!
I've been wanting to change layout for ages, but my eternal lazyness when it comes to codes has shown up once more!

I chose to put just a few selection of my pieces, I'll be thinking later if adding a complete archive or not. There are some old drawings I don't feel comfortable anymore in sharing. We'll see! I hope you like the new "feeling"!

2. I hate driving, mostly because I have no sense of direction and I easily get into panic if I'm lost while driving the car.

So, I'm back!

I had a lot of fun! Kanuka took me to visit an ancient castle in a beautiful place surrounded by mountains and forests; and two days ago we celebrated the "Ferragosto" holiday with a pic-nic on the mountains. What beautiful landscapes! I don't know if Ferragosto is an italian holiday only, or if it's celebrated worldwide... here it celebrates the middle of the summer, and in the past it was related to the end of the hard works in the fields.
Now I feel recharged and inspired, full of ideas and optimism

I seldom manage to put on paper all the ideas that occur to me while I'm travelling or simply visiting new places, but I hope to fix on paper a few of them soon

I'm leaving tomorrow for some days of relax and holiday at *Kanuka76's place. As usual, I'll meet *Helyss and *whiteshaix too! I can't wait to see the three of them again

These last 10 days have been quite hectic. My parents left for their holiday and I stayed here to look after the house, the garden, 9 birds and 16 cats. Yes, 16! They already are enough in my opinion, but 2 female cats seem to disagree as they gave birth to another 5 and 2 kittens! ARG. Unluckily one of the kittens was already dead when he was born, and it's always so sad when it happens

I had some troubles with the mother because she didin't want to take care of the other alive kitten. Luckily he was adopted by the other mother, so he's well now.

This house is too big for my tastes, anyway. Too much work, too much time to spend after the garden and the houseworks. I feel tired now and I really need to go somewhere far from here and recharge a bit.
Sooo, let's see in a week!

Oh my God!! My dear friend *Kanuka76 has made me a great graduation present! She commissioned a portrait of my vampire drow character to =343GuiltySpark!
Isn't it beautiful?

I love the lighting so much. It's so warm and adds so much to her skin. I find it very inspiring, I want to try something with a similar light soon or later. The long neck is really elegant and I love the small coffin/necklace on her neck

(which is a true object that belongs to my character!).

I finally decided to enter the mysterious world of CSS!

I asked dear *Kanuka76 to make a new one for me, as I love her layouts so much. While she thinks about it and finds the time to make it, I decided to use another temporary one: I start to find my old journal a bit too sad!

So, now I'm definitely out of school

and looking for a job!

But that will wait until September, I want to enjoy this last month of holiday first!
To celebrate my new and temporary freedom, I've spent the day doing absolutely nothing but playing nwn and finishing the last Harry Potter book! I'm quite sad that it's truly finished now, but I loved the story and loved the end

Tomorrow my parents are leaving for 10 days. The house is quite a mess now: they hurry on bags and on the last things to prepare. I'm happy I'm having some time alone, maybe I'll finally manage to experiment with oils. I've been postponing it for too long!

I had an unpleasant conversation with a friend I wanted to invite, and this conversation ended in a split up with said friend (for several more reasons, not just for the party). My family is also complicating things because they want to celebrate but nobody organizes, and when I try to do it nothing is right. So I really end up thinking that this celebrating thing is creating more problems and stress than pleasure, and I'm no more in the mood for a party.

Anyway, I'm working on a painting for the marriage of a friend. I'm still striving with composition, but I have a pretty clear image in my mind. I hope to be able to share it soon!

And I'm already deep in reading the last Harry Potter book!

There's such a great light today that I felt like taking some pictures in my garden. Some cats managed to pop in and show themselves in all their beauty!

Well, on Monday I had that damn last exam and... I finally passed it!

I feel so light and free now

The first thing I did yesterday was to relax on a landscape watercolor.
At last I didn't make it to enter the Pirates contest, but I got a feature in *mizzdraconia journal for the "Mysterious Kanuka" I painted from her stock! Yay, that makes me happy!

Soon I will start experimenting with oils: I have a ready canvas waiting for me since last autumn and I've finally found an idea of what to paint on it. I've been struck by inspiration during my visit to the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana in Milan some weeks ago. There are some gorgeous landscape scenes by Paul Bril and Jan Brueghel that left me breathless. I'd love to try and paint similar atmospheres. I'm sure it will be fun! Trying a new medium is always challenging

I've spent the Easter time with *Kanuka76 ~Tychondriax ~freppi and ~Arokh60 here at my home. We've mostly role played all the time

While role playing I finally had the time and inspiration to make a couple of sketches:

I'm quickly coloring the first one, it's my vampire character. I should be working on other commissions, but t's been too long since I last submitted something here

and sometimes it's just fun to relax on a quick drawing

It seems that the poblem with the owner of GalleriaDigitale has been solved. He was unaware of all these copyright issues; he closed the fantasy gallery and he's willing now to open a regular gallery by asking permission to the artists and putting their names and copyrights as he should do.
Unluckily, many people in Italy are still unaware of copyrights and rights of artists. Websites like that are far too common and people has the feeling that they are "normal" and right, and that reactions like mine are even excessive...
But I'm happy that he showed to be open to the subject and I'm helping him building up the new gallery.

I've found this italian website Galleria Digitale that gathers lots of pictures of artists without displaying their copyrights, and I bet they didn't even ask permission to the artists. I've seen many pictures by artists from Deviantart, but I can't remember all the names, so please go through the gallery and see if you recognize your works there.
Right now I've seen pictures of ~Helyss, *JasonEngle, Todd Lockwood, Brom and others I recognized being deviants but I can't remember their names. I'm going to write to Todd Lockwood at once, as I know he is against this kind of websites. I hope this will be a big step in making this website close, but if you can help me spreading the word it would be great. The more artists will complain the easier it will be!

EDIT: I've spoken with the owner of that website, it seems that he just doesn't know much about copyrights. I and other people explained to him what he should do, let's see if he asks the permissions and fixes the galleries...

Yay! I managed to solve the problems with my graphic table (thanks so much to my brother!!), so I finally can go on with the digital commissions

Life is quite boring in these days: I've had a cold again and I wasn't very well during the week-end. Now I'm better, but there's a lot of work I have to do, so I'll probably be quiet for some time.

My graphic tablet is gone, broken, kaputt. My pen refuses to work and I fear my cats are responsible for this... I've caught them playing with the pen 2 days ago!

They should thank their cuteness if they're still alive.
I hope I can borrow my brother's pen in the next days, or I don't know how I'd manage to finish the digital commissions
