H.H. Sheikh Maktoum ruler of Dubai and Vice President of the UAE just passed away so thats no good. My condolonces to all my emirati buddies

meanwhile, I'm still optimistic that a holiday miracle will occur..fingers crossed!!

- Star shows ~io9's amazing use of colors. Usually it's very hard to use an extensive blend of colors without risking the "flat effect" (i.e., "shit i overdid the colors and now my drawing looks as flat as a table", get my drift?? ). But this is definitely not the case here..the balance between light and dark and the use colors in highlighting tonal values is just simply breath taking.
Overall: simple, yet amazing! a definite must see!

PROMISES ARE TO BE KEPT:
Well as I promised last week..I'm gonna start doing features about my watchers with every upcoming journal entries. So for this edition..my good DA buddy, and my first watcher *darthmarlan is the featured artist of the week.

Now before getting into any details about his great artwork..I'll just have to acknowledge this guy's amazing personality. He's probably the sweetest person around here. Dont get me wrong..we all know how artist can get cocky and how they could be really spiteful with
their comments . But nooooot this fella right here..he always is nice enough to comment on each and every of my silly little submissions, and ALWAYS has the right thing to say about everything/ everyone...

And as for his work...well..if I get started I'll never be done . Hell! I dont even know where to start!! * darthmarlan is a perfect example of those we refer to as "varied artists"! I mean seriously..this guy's got pretty much everything! digital art, photography, photo manipulation, traditional drawings, etc etc..and he's pretty darn good at all these
categories too!

To start off..he has an interesting collection of photomanipulation pieces.
In there, Evil Dwells is a stunning piece with such a powerful concept. Definitely a MUST SEE piece of artwork!

Looking for Answers is another example of his photomanipulation work..
this one has a certain sweet and mellow mood to it.
