I bet many of you thought you'd never see the likes of me around this old place but alas I have returned. For how long, I cannot say but hopefully for a while. It's been close to a year and a half since I've done anything here and more than 2 since I've submitted anything. After all that time I look back on my old submissions for the first time and I see them with new eyes. Some I think are still decent, others I think are not as good as they were when they were conceived, and still others I just wonder "WTF!". What will I do with some submissions? That I cannot say. I may keep them as a reminder that this is where I started, some I may delete simply for the fact that there's nothing special about them.
Well I guess if you're reading this you're wondering what made me return. I suppose out of boredom and the fact I have a creative writing class at college now and may post some things here. Some of my stuff may actually be worth posting while some of it is so so. I have some poetry I plan to post and (hopefully) soon some fiction that I'll be writing later in the class. I don't know if I'll pursue anything else with Photoshop anymore but I think my gallery could use more written work (that isn't overly melodramatic). Then again I installed Photoshop on my new laptop just now so you never know. I haven't touched it probably since Fall semester of my freshman year at NCC when I had my graphic design class. Other than that I can't remember when I used it last.
A lot has happened since I have last been here last. First off I'm a junior at Franklin and Marshall College down in Lancaster PA. I transferred in last semester as a junior and soon enough I'll be a senior next fall. I'm majoring in Astrophysics now and so far I love it. I plan to do research over the summer with my Astro professor which I hope will be a lot of fun.
I'm now in a relationship too which, I know, is surprising. I won't go into details too much but we've been together for 9 months at the end of February. This goes without saying she isn't down here at F&M with me so that pretty much means it's kind of a long distance thing but I'm optimistic that we can handle it. Especially since I come home damn near every weekend to see her.
A lot has changed since I've been on here last and there's way too much to list in a single journal entry. Those of you who have been with me in the last couple years probably know all this and more. Most likely to all my friends on DA this is new information and I'm sorry if I haven't been able to tell you everything that's been going on with me lately.

Ok so I figured it's time for me to update this thing. I haven't been on too much and have been quite busy lately. I've been busy with summer classes in order to get caught up on my major. Toward the end of Spring Semester I changed my major to Math/Physics. I want to go into some field of science since I'm pretty good with math and science. In a few days I'll be finished with Calc II and when fall semester rolls around I'll be busy with Cal III. I definitly can't wait to get back to school to see some friends and the anime club. Soon I'll have to decide where I want to go when I finish my courses at NCC. I'm getting tired of staying in PA and I really want to see other places. I've never traveled much and I really want to. Well I doubt I'll update this anytime soon so later.

So yeah lately has been pretty cool. On Saturday I managed to beat Metal Gear Solid for the PSX. I got the good ending and was able to start the game over with the bandana which gives you infinite ammo. After that I went through the game again pretty quickly because I skipped all the codec messages and the cinemas. I blazed through it again and got the bad ending which allowed me to start over again with the stealth cammo. On Sunday I beat the game a third time with the stealth cammo and bandnana. Now I have to work on beating MGS2: The Sons of Liberty. During the weekend I also preordered MGS3: Subsistance and since I preordered it I get an awesome DVD with my order. That's not the only reason I preordered it. I bought it because of all the new features that Snake Eater didn't have. I'm really looking forward to trying my hand at the online multiplayer. This is one thing I never expected a MGS game to pull off.

Man I feel all nostalgic and stuff. I mean MGS is such a sweet game. Even after like 8 years it's still cool to play on the PSX. Even though I have Twin Snakes I never really played it since my brother said the controls weren't as good as the Playstation version. Even though the graphics aren't that great anymore, the graphics are not what make it shine. I mean would they remake it if it was a bad game? Definitley not. The music, characters, and gameplay are what make it so memorable. 10 years from now people won't even think about Madden 2006 because another Madden will replace it (and nobody wants old sports games).
Seriously you can walk into an EB, look at the PSX section and find nothing but sports games. It's really sad.

Ok earlier today I ordered a copy of Jump Superstars for the DS. In case you don't know about Jump Superstars let me clarify. It's a fighting game that utilizes 150 (no, not pokemon) characters from Shonen Jump. It's like Super Smash Brothers except with many many more character.

In the game you can find characters from DBZ, Naruto, Bleach, Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo, One Piece, and many others that have never set foot in America. The problem is that I have to import the game because it would be near to impossible to release it here. Because different companies hold the rights to different animes here in America (Naruto-Viz, One Piece-4kids ) it is unlikely those companies will allow such a game to be released.

That's all I have for now but when I do get it (which will seem like forever) I'll write a review or something. I don't know.

**EXTREME EDIT!!!!!!**

Yeah so now I am the proud owner of Jump Superstar!! Man their's nothing more satisfying that using Naruto's Razengan or Goku's Ka-Me-Ha-Me-Ha to blow people away. Or unleashing a barrage of punches from Luffy. Bo-BoBo is pretty awesome too.

The game allows you to unlock 150 different characters. Some are battle, support, and help characters. You unlock different characters by completing different mission objectives during a level. In order to use the characters you must unlock comic panels and place the character inside one of them.

Now with all those different characters you can take them and place them along a comic page but you can only have a certain amount. This is called a deck and is what you use to complete different levels and fight against others.

Unfortuantley there is no Wi Fi feature other than being able to play against 3 other people with a DS. If you could play online it would be awesome but against 3 friends is probably just as fun. The wireless is probably incredible if your friends own a copy of Jump Superstars because you can play against their custom decks. If not then they are limited to 4 different decks which isn't very fun because there isn't much of a selection.

In my opinion it was worth the $50 because it is VERY unlikely the game will come to America. I mean with a game like this I can't see the point in owning a PSP.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Well yesterday night I became rather bored and decided to go and rent a game at the video store. I had my heart set on Destroy all Humans and most of the time that I tried to rent it it was out. So I walk into the video store over to the PS2 section hoping to nab a copy of DAH. It was out to my dismay. So I walked over the the Xox section and noticed there was one copy of DAH for the XBox and Predator: Concrete Jungle. I have wanted to see what the Predator game was like but wanted to check out DAH first.
Well after I cruized home I just threw the game aside and started watching the new episode of Reno 911 and Stella (a superb show I should add). Well during that time my brother noticed we didn't have an XBox controller. I remembered that I loaned it to my friend because his was screwed up.
Earlier today I called him and asked hum if he still was borrowing it and it turned out he was. So I drove over to his house to pick it up so I could get back and start playing. When I got their he didn't have the best news. Apparently one of his dogs got a hold of my controller and chewed through the wire.
Now I have to spend $30 to buy another XBox controller before I can rent DAH humans , again.

It was soo cool I wish I could have stayed for the entire weekend. They had the voice actors from Fullmetal Alchemist (who I got to meet and get their autographs) which was so cool. They were showing animes in one of the hotels so we hung out there toward the end. There were a lot of cosplayers and some looked really cool.

*Edit*

I probobly should've included a few more things here.
1. I got to see the people who voiced Ed, Winry, and Roy Mustang which was really cool.

2. Some cosplayers had really neat costumes. I saw two people wearing DDR pads, 2 Solid Snakes, 1 Vulcan Raven, and a guy dressed up as Axle from Guilty Gear,

There were a lot of other cool things but I don't feel like writing them.

Well today I have thought of a cool new project. I am going to try and do something with my ASCII pictures. I am definitley leaving my others up (I don't care that they are being flamed they are staying). If my new project turns out the way I want I'll scrap them. It is a little more creative than what I have now.

Wow can you say anything bad about this game? Maybe the fact that is is a little difficult but aside from that the action is practically non stop with beautiful graphics.

Aside from that I've begun to buy more Evangelion DVDs. I have still not seen the whole series but it's been bugging me for a while. I want to buy the whole Platinum set (just bought the box to put them in with the first DVD last night) since it's a collectible thing right now. I've seen the movies though but there is a lot I need to see so I can get a better understanding of it. Not to mention I need to see the original ending.

Well it seems another Valentines Day has excluded me again. Oh well I really can't do a whole lot about it. I suppose I could write a whole rant about how lonely I am and about how much my life sucks but I'll spare you the teenage angst bullsh*t. I mean the holiday really is all about spending money to show how much you care for someone. Yeah money can really help you prove how much you love someone. I suppose the biggest problem is when I see people flaunt crappy gifts like ballons. I mean COME ON. Balloons! Yeah the $.50 you spent on the it is a great gift and will only last a day or two. How awesome is that? Even flowers are a little pointless because they don't last very long either. It's really a shallow holiday, but then again I guess all of them are.

Well right now I finally possess all 3 major consoles (GC, PS2, XBox) and I realized the biggest flaw of the PS2 - Terrible multiplayer. The XBox and GC have four controller ports allowing for awesome multiplayer games like Double Dash, or Echoes. The only thing that the PS2 can handle is single player games and fighting (maybe a few games with co op). It really disappoints me that a the PS2 is praised more than the other two. I don't know anybody who would want to go out and buy the adapter that gives you four ports just to play Guilty Gear Isuka. They should have designed it to have better multiplayer capabilities.

My god Yoshitoshi Abe is a mastermind/genius! The first series of his I saw was Serial Experiments Lain which blew me away. Although you really have to read between the lines to understand it (I still don't get some of it), it was incredibly good. The ending left me feeling incomplete, you know like you were waiting for something and it really didn't turn out the way that wouldv'e been satisfying to you. Well, that was how it ended.

But this entry isn't about Lain, it's about his newest anime Haibaine Renmei. The Haibane Renmei Site. On Wednsday or Thursday morning at around 1:30 AM I decided to watch the first DVD (which contains 4 episodes). The animation is beautiful and the storyline is great. I couldn't help but want to see more because there were soo many questions going in my mind about the series after watching it. Then on Friday at around 3:30 AM I had to watch it again before school. Fortunatley I went to my grandparent's house that night/last night and bought DVD 2 and 3. I haven't watched 3 yet but I watched 2. 2 takes almost a 180 degree spin from the first DVD (Geometry, I can't believe how much I can use it) but still keeps it structure. In the first DVD there was no sadness but merely happiness and mystery. The second DVD takes a turn to a feeling of sadness and a darker atmosphere. I highly recommend this anime.
