The latest one has been the classic "Time Travel Paradox" or, the usual, not well thought out dangers that can occur from traveling into the past and messing around with historic events.
The normal list of possible paradoxes are as long as the amount of sometime rather bright people that think them out. Puzzle Addicts with too much time on thier hands, or Writters who don't really care if thier concept is plausible or not, as long as it sounds cool.

So I was tearing into the whole concept, imagining this scenario and that one, thinking about the ramifications, Timeline effects, alterations to our current Reletive Viewpoint...Blah Blah Blah..
And getting more confused by the minute as my scenarios became more and more complicated and conveluted to make any sense. Most ended with a nearly infinit amount of alternate realities being born every frikken second or two if you ever DID manage to go back in Time..... Real headache stuff.

Then, in a galactic sized explosion, I had me an Epiphany! And it HURT! Ouch! (avoid them if you can!)
I was basing all my scenarios on other peoples ideas, things I had seen on TV or read in Books. few of these had any real science or serious thought put into them. most were ideas based on ideas based on rather slim assumptions or just fantasy.

With this embarassing and troubling realization in tow, I made a serious effort to clean my head of all the residue from decades of preconceptions and psuedo-facts and science and simply addressed the idea of Time Travel into the past, near or distant. The puzzle fell into clear understanding almost immediatley and with wonderful clarity.
Here is my theory and conclusions on Time Travel into the past, and all the resulting problems and paradoxes that can result. It might be handy to those who wish to write stories based on this theme.

1> Can we travel backwards in Time?

Answer> Sure, why not. Assuming the technology is eventually discovered.

The only REAL troubles you'll come accross is targeting a specific location to "Land" at. The Earth is only steady and stable beneath our feet from OUR relative viewpoint, standing on it. In reality, Terra is Spinning rather fast, and Orbiting Sol rather fast, and The whole Solar System is moving round our Galactic Center rather fast, and our Galaxy is moving through our Universe rather Fasest!..........
Now, try and figure out where the spot your standing right now was actually located 1000 years ago in Space? heck, figure it for 10 seconds ago if you want it easier. It was a LOOOOOONG ways away from where you are right now.
So the first dude to hop backwards in time through a cool ciclular-electromagnet-spinning-thingy-with-cool-FX will be sucking vacuum and lost to history as a huge OOPS!
A Time Machine will either move you through Space AND Time to a spot on Terra, or it will be a spaceship or starship or such. Maybe a Landing Pod that will be shot out at huge velocity towards the place in space that Terra was in 1million B.C. Then, as it creates a Time-Vortex or Worhole or such, it leaves real-space and accelerates outside einstienian space-time to near the spot you wanna land, re-entering normal space-time, decelerates to a landing right on top of a ticked off Tribal Witchdoctor, who has ruby slippers you can accessorize with!
It could HAPPEN!

2> Once back safely in the Past, Can I axe murder that Evil Dude from the past that I always thought the world would be better off without?

Answer> Did someone who looks exactly like YOU actually axe murder that dude according to history? then dissapear in a puff of logic? No?!?
Then there's your answer, you never did it Amigo! Nor did anyone else if it isn't recorded as being done.

So the answer to the favorite Paradox of all time is. You cannot go back in Time, and in a blaze of suicidal psychosis, Grease your own Ancestor. Because you DID NOT DO IT. The obvious evidense is that you EXIST. You cannot create a Paradox.

Alternate Timelines and Parallel worlds aside. There is not a chance you can ever go back and change a historic event. BUT! If history records that someone who looked alot like YOU was one of the Senators who butchered Julious Caesar in the Senate way back when. Then you likely were taking a Time-Vacation and got caught up in an historic event. Or you instigated the whole thing you evil bastard!
Remember, SOMEONE warned Caesar to watch his ass around the end of February (Kalends of February) or begining of March (Ides of March). In this case, I won a "Name this Character" Contest sponsored by our very own Madman.


I have always enjoyed his hand drawn Artwork and very cool creature designs. He takes inspiration from Anime, But manages to give his own, cool, style to his creations. This and his deep affection for a nice, wholesome and family oriented scenes of Blood and Carnage has endeared his Gallery to many a fan of fantasy mayhem. His creations are often fleshed out nicely with write ups of thier past, present and position within his personal Universe of Techno-Sci-Fantasy, and thus ad greatly to a watches enjoyment and understanding of a new, or old favorite, character.

In this case, he came up with a Sword wielding Werewolf character in a very cool assemblage of Turquise Armor, complete with a personal history. And put up a contest to name this Fly Lycanthrop.

As I do love turquise (OK, maybe it's really Teal, But I see Turquise), Werewolves (done well) and Spicey Armor. I gave a shot at the Name Game and chose ANUBIS for his character. If you read the history and know a little about the rich Egyptian Pantheon, you'll understand the obvious name choice.
Well, there were many folks who shot out some good ideas for it, But the Madmick liked mine best!
So, My FIRST contest WIN!!!

Got the Old Laptop Fixed, as stated earlier, then got a new one a few days later, then a hand-me-down from my older Brother who baught a shiney new one..... From ziltch to three in a month. go figure.

None of them are really HOT. All three about 2ghz with about 2gigs of Ram. About Par for laptops I guess. But I am NOT complaining. Very Happy to have a computer at ALL.
I have done some new pics and seens, but can't upload them to the site for some reason, I'll figure it out and get back to posting, hopefully soon..... siiigh.

It is a Lenova dual core, About as good in most ways as the old Dell I resurrected, but being Dual Core is much faster on the number crunching. So, soon as I get a couple 2 gig RAM chips for it, I will install all the programs and try to get my sorry butt back to artwork!

Weird, no computer for months, then I have an extra suddenly....

Many MANY, thanks to all those wonderful Folks that have patiently waited for me to get my sh*& together, And Salutes and Smiles for those that sent messages asking "What The F&#% Dude!?" It really feels good to have anyone actually notice yer not around! Thanks for that Amigo's and Amiga!

I will have weeks n weeks of gallery browsing to catch up with all the wonderous art you all have produced! So I should be in Beatnick Heaven for some time with that. Gonna Love Posting my usual annoying comments and hearing the far off groans of those who's art I be fondling! Weeee!

I decided to delete the journals and updates and such, there were simply to many and even going through deleting the general ones and trying to save the important updates would take more then a month. I passed on a suggestion I received from to try out Tiger Direct and it seems my Brother found a good one there. Though I am not counting my eggs till they bloody hatch, But keep your fingers crossed for me amigos and chicas

My lil ol computer is about on it's last read/write pass for this Hard Drive. I have been nursing it along for some time as most of you know. But it is old and reluctant.
I was down for nearly a week waiting for a part. Which never showed. so the problem is not going to get a complete fix for awhile.

Kind of a really irritating situtaion. Mostly because if I had just saved all the money I spent trying to keep this ol laptop running, I would have been able to buy one of those rather inexpensive 'Bottom Line' laptops new and been better off in every catagory.

The trouble is the CD-Rom in it is fried. and it will not, in anyway, let you boot from an external cd or external HD.
I have tried about everything to re-install XP on it (really, EVERYTHING) but without a working CD-DVD drive, it is not possible with this models Bios and setup. Only solution to reformat it is to find a DOS boot disk that will work and try and copy it onto a flash drive I have. But am haveing no luck finding the basic DOS startup programs online. Tried LOTS of Flash-Boot and other programs to do this and everyone is a freakin dipstick program that does all sorts of things EXCEPT just boot your damn puter up with all the dos commands... sheesh!
Okay, nuff bitchin

Don't worry about suggestions, not looking for advice on it really. All of you who know enough about computers to offer advice also know you really have to SEE the total mess before really knowing what the problem is.
Only solution is a new HD and CD-DVD. might be able to install em myself, but theses laptops are dicey to tinker with. So I will need to gather the Moola to get the parts and have it installed from a Pro-Geek with accountability if he mucks it up.

So, I will be a deviant in exile for an unspecified amount of time. Only showing my ugly mug on the rare and random occasion that I get some action from my puter.

Sorry to all those nice folks who have added me to thier friends list recently, and super to all my wonderful friends here who have been great and wonderful and I have been unable to share comments and views with. You all know I love your magic and will try to get tto it as soon as this problem clears up!

OK, I have been very Eratic in my being around lately. And have barely had any time to browse all the deviations from those great folks I watch. So, Since this is liely to get worse soon. I thought I might explain what is up a bit so my Buds and Budettes do not feel I am snubbing them.

First, my whole damn family seems to have converted to a nomadic lifestyle since last christmas. So I have either had 2-4 people visiting me or forcing ME to go to them for a visit. thus the home time has been either hectic or nonexistant.
This has slowed a bit, thankfully. But then comes the Fem-Fatale who lives in Portland and seems to ALWAYS want me to visit her. And though I do like her (she's very Hot and fairly crazy, so enjoyable to be around), I also want some ME time, so it is a juggling act between keeping her happy and me happy. Gets messy, as any man can tell you.
Add to all this the fact that my lil Laptop is developing serious HD issues and I spend half my time on it trying to fix it. and you end up with me having little time for internet socializing or enjoying some liesurely browsing and fun commenting.
I Do have a fix for the Laptop in the works, I ordered a new DVD drive for it (using an external now, since the DVD-Rom is broke) and will be taking it down to get that, and a new and larger HD installed when it arrives.
Then will come the Re-installing all the software (due to HD errors, I won't be copying any from the old HD) and getting it running at par again, finally.
This could happen any day, since I ordered the DVD more then a frikkin week ago, wait, 10 days actually. It is an old Dell Inspiron 1100 Laptop, so I had to special order the replacement.
I cannot reformat my HD now because windows and computer technology does not recognize that a CD/DVD drive MIGHT be broken, and I can find no way to reformat from an external USB source. If I had an old floppy drive, I could do it, but laptops do not have those integral anymore....

The message here for all you is that if your CD/DVD drive goes down, fix it instantly and never get an external USB CD/DVD and think it will do the same job. it won't.
Anyone want an external DVD-RW dual layer with laser printing thingy? it is Top of the line last year and totally useless.... Sheeeesh.

Anyway, that is my reasons for the less then frequent apprearances, both here on DA and on my chatlines. Mostly I end up with about 2 hours hear and there for computer time and I can NOT work, chat, browse and fix at the same time.
I do 1 thing at a time on the computer. More then that and I spaz-out.

You will certainly know when I have things back under some semblance of control. because I will be so damn happy you'll hear the "WOOT!" from here to Thialand, and Maybe Europe too

Sorry to all my friends who have been slighted by me lately. This will change Bros and Amigas!
I am not egocentric enough to think this is any real big deal to anyone but me, life moves on easily without me to push it. But I do value all of you who have given of your time, effort and hearts enough to watch and comment and share jokes and smiles with me. I value you LOTS!

Just got a present from the second person to ever do Gift Art! For ME! (how weird is That?) From the World Renown artist, Bodyguard, Rogue, and Privateer

A most Extra-Ordinary gift too! He spent alot of time and effeort on it, I know this because I have been loving his Batgirl Series and was waiting, like all his fans here. For the next installment. And a few hints from him told us he was workin away at it.

My Super Sweet Niece, Sherri (So pretty you guys would faint) and her Nice husband Derick (real Handsome too, Rotten luck for all you gals out there, he's taken)came in today (13th) So I was away from the computer enjoying thier company. I get back and read a Note from Butch. Which says Merry Christmas and a Link.

I was actually, rilly rilly, speechless. I have been telling Butch how much I liked his Batgirl as opposed to others of the Genre. And this is So. I usually am bored soft from the normal batchick.
So this was Soooooo Cool!
The Scene has the Savage and Crazed Lilith. Who has become obsessed with utterly destroying batgirl! Very tough and muscular lady, Perfect arch nemisis for any Bat-Person!
And Harley-Quin, A sad-happy-sexy minks-fatale, who has yet to decide what or who's side in this she is really going to be on (just like her namesake in the famous series). Standing by on the sidelines looking Hot and Vulnerable.

And, Our Heroine, The Dark Mistress of Shadow and Night, "BATGIRL!!!". >siiiiiiigh<

You really will enjoy the intensity, ferocity and graceful action of this scene, plenty of hot-sexy for the guys and excellent Heroine/Villianess characterization for the ladies!

We are trying to get a Web Petition going to let our Website Administrators here at Deviant Art know that we have a serious need for A Main Category under "Digital Art" for Spacescape or Starscape Deviations.

Currently we only have a category within the 3D Art menu and we feel this is misleading and incorrect. For those of artists who painstakingly create thier own Space scenes with Paint programs and do not use 3D rendering programs for this task, we would like a specific category to classify thier art properly within thier Galleries. There are many very skilled and excellent artists in this Genre and many who create different genres of art who would wish to be more specific with their creations. So we wish to request an addition to the 'categories' listings.

How do we get our request to them. Simple! Everyone of my Friends, Watchers, Lurkers or just Casual Browsers that reads this journal can sign a Petition and we'll then send it in a note to the Admin Staffer who is in charge of Technical Issues [$mccann] in hopes of getting this oversight corrected.

I am really trying to update my friends Icons and such here. The system makes this an irritatingly slow process. I generally go to each each new friends and watched persons gallery and try and figure out where would be the best placing for them. So, with the huge workload this website carries, load time drives me nuts.
Thus, I will just do a few each day I think and that should catch me up without to much frustration
