I have really fallen behind on a lot of personal projects that I have been working on due to my work schedule. It kills me not to be working on these projects but I have recently booked some time off to get some of my own things done. I am also going out of town for several days so I plan on taking my computer to get some things done while I'm in a new environment. Also prior to me leaving I will need to purchase a laptop case.. Can anybody recommend a good case for 17' macbook pro? I refuse to travel with an unprotected computer. And... for any Kanye West fans what do you think of his new album so far?? Judging by the couple singles that have been released? I just got my Kanye West tickets when he comes to Vancouver in October.

"The university was struck today with a tragedy of monumental proportions. There were two shootings on campus. In each case, there were fatalities. The university is shocked and horrified that this would befall our campus. I want to extend my deepest, sincerest and most profound sympathies to the families of these victims which include students There are 22 confirmed deaths.

We currently are in the process of notifying families of victims. The Virginia Tech Police are being assisted by numerous other jurisdictions. Crime scenes are being investigated by the FBI, University Police, and State Police. We continue to work to identify the victims impacted by this tragedy. I cannot begin to covey my own personal sense of loss over this senselessness of such an incomprehensible and heinous act The university will immediately set up counseling centers. So far centers have been identified in Ambler Johnston and the Cook Counseling Center to work with our campus community and families.

Here are some of the facts we know:

At about 7:15 a.m. this morning a 911 call came to the University Police Department concerning an event in West Ambler Johnston Hall. There were multiple shooting victims. While in the process of investigating, about two hours later the university received reports of a shooting in Norris Hall. The police immediately responded. Victims have been transported to various hospitals in the immediate area in the region to receive emergency treatment."

"I just got an email from my ma about my home town. About a week ago, at least 13 tornadoes touched down along the NM-TX border and one of them ripped through the middle of Clovis. It destroyed 400+ homes and businesses in Clovis alone. It ripped up 100 year old trees, tossed trailers through the bowling alley roof, ripped the roof off of the senior citizens housing, bent phone poles in half and sent air conditioning units from one of the junior high schools through the roofs of surrounding houses. It completely destroyed one of the grain silos I'd known all my life. A lot of people were injured in some way, head trauma and the like... 2 are in critical condition. 120-125 mph winds left a 3 mile long path through the center of my town. I'm so scared for people I grew up with and families I know still live there. I'm sad I can't be home to physically help in some way.

A Salvation Army truck on its way from El Paso to Clovis was looted. $1500 worth of supplies was stolen right out of the back of it and the thieves haven't been found yet.

I don't have a lot of free time on my hands right now but I want to start a fund raiser for Clovis. I don't expect to raise a lot of money but every little bit will help, y'know?
