Unless you've been living under a rock you know that dA have released the new and shiny userpages (dubbed Gruze) for all beta testers to try.  Looks and works pretty rock solid to me I have to say.  And, what's equally nice, it didn't break my deviantGREEN skin.  But I did update it already, to bring you back the oh-so-missed hover effects.  Plus minor tweaks.  Oh, I'll update the screenshot, once I find a few more minutes...

So, dA has a new CSS, dubbed deviantART v6.1.  You won't notice anything from the outside, but the inside is somewhat new.  Slimmer and tidier.  Making dA quicker to load.  So they say.  Did you notice anything?  Because frankly, I didn't.  Nevertheless, a tidier code is always preferrable.

However, this also broke my deviantGREEN skin for dA, and you probably have noticed that!  But fear not, I already updated it.  So grab it and re-install!

As some of you might know, I've been to South Tyrol, Italy earlier this July, but I've yet to post some shots of the trip.  But to be honest, I never felt like taking many pictures, and the ones I took didn't satisfy me too much.  And on top of that, my beloved camera fell down.  Yes, it broke.  But it still works.  Only the display screen is now a bit crooked.  I tried to open and fix it, but that turned out to be nearly impossible.  I will show you a picture though of what it looks like on the inside.  Oh well, after some 3 years it is time for a new camera after all, right?

Oh holy shit, what an experience I had this morning after having a look in my Message Centre!  The clearDisk iconset that I had submitted 2 days before was given a DD feature by :devlivius:; my jaw literally hit the floor after I realised what was going on!  So yes, this is my very first DD, and it is such an awesome feeling, thanks again livius! :love:  And thanks to everyone who fav'd and commented on it!

Anyway, I just finished my very first GreaseMonkey script!  Actually, I just wrote my very first JavaScript script.  So here's the disclaimer: the script may be ugly, there might be better ways in writing it, but I have no clue.  It does however work just the way it should.

So what does it do?
Well, it replaces all titles of nearly all deviantART pages to one coherent and shortened style.  Some examples:

What GreaseMonkey is for JavaScript, is Stylish for CSS:  a tiny Firefox extension for making on-the-fly visual changes to specific webpages.  It was about time to write my own little CSS files ("scripts") for devART.

To install it, you first need to download and install the extension.  After restarting Firefox you'll find a new icon in the statusbar, click on it and select "Write Style" -> "Blank Style", then copy+paste one of the scripts from the boxes below, give it a title and hit "Save".

eXtended dA v2 journalskin for :devzetab:, based on my previous skin, but to just feature those boxes vertically. Other than the boxes and the a:hover effects I left it pretty much to v5 standards. (Why does dA hate hovers so much ever since the launch of v5, btw!?)

Updated it now with Zeta's final instructions: Removed the moods and changed a few other small things.

I love this new journal CSS feature on dA -- as you no doubt have noticed.  Still nothing as fancy or shiny as :devmindfuckx:'s or :devipholio:'s skins, but hey!  This time something very dA-like, with only some slight modifications but also some big extensions.  Just look to the right.  Feel free to look at the code if you wanna copy it.

As usual: The skin is best viewed with a non-iE browser; but does work with the blue E as well.  And since I'm still testing and playing around with chunks of the code, I'll update this journal from time to time.
