This is because the second book is a lot more fight-oriented and less of a love story that the first one was. Some full on brutal bits, so need to balance out drawing people getting boshed with cuddles and hearts.

The proof is in the post, so not long now till BR can be bought.

There also seems to be some confusion over the main character and myself with many people. The story is based primarily on Miyamoto Musashi, but the character is based on no one in particular - he's more of a representation of the aesthetic the whole book employs, that being the fashions of modern youth sub-cultures. The fact that I own a parker did affect the overall look of Shin, but that's purely because I like furry collars.

It's sort of like when The Streets did their second album, it wasn't necessarily about Mike Skinner but the lyrics would suggest they are. I'd like people to make up their own minds about the inspirations for the characters, it's more fun that way.

I've become a bit disillusioned lately. The art community seems like one big popularity contest and never seems to be about the art. I'm not the best artist in the world, but I know enough to know I'm not crap. Being told constantly that 'I've got a unique style' doesn't help much either. It's like when you do something your mother doesn't quite understand and she just smiles and nods her head in a 'there, there' sort of manner.

I need a run of good luck. Having my bag stolen and going partially deaf in one ear doesn't do much for the self-esteem. Surely there's something good around the corner?

On a postive note, the canvas is almost finished. Just a few bits to add and some glazes to bring it out a bit more. Will be doing some Metal Gear Solid artwork to build up to the release of the new one so keep checking back.

Been playing my way through the US version of No More Heroes, the extra bloody version. Travis Touchdown is the man, as is his Irish brother Henry.

Started work on a big canvas. Don't really know what I want it to look like yet, just building it up piece by piece, shaping it gradually. Could kick ass, could totally suck.

Last page count was about 170 pages, so it's fairly hefty. I've even started work on my next project which should be interesting.
