First off, the DVD is coming out this friday, Oct.15th in North America. Plus, if you are in the US and you have Cartoon Network, on Thursday night there will be a showing of the Boneknapper short that will come as an extra in the DVD double pack(around 8pm if my memory serves right).

It does make sense, as usually that sort of material should only be viewed after a movie is released.

Nice to see more of the armor. Notice how the helmets kept some of the pointy designs, just toned down (possibly to avoid poking people's eyes out, ha ha!).

There are also little red touches in the costume. Not as much as the original of course, but it works.

Personal thoughts? I do like the costumes. Adaptation has to be made when you change medium (in this case, from cartoon to live action) so it looks good on camera. Bright colors work well for cartoons but if you go live action, good to tone it down. Unless you want to keep that cartoony feel like Speed Racer!

If you do intend to get the book, let's point out that it is geared towards a young audience readership (7-12 years old).  It is probably very good for that age group. But if you are a bit older, do not expect grand literature.

It is possible it will contain many yet unaired episodes in the US.
