My mother doesn't think I can manage it. Says I should join the Air Force, that they'll appreciate my intelligence more.

What the fuck is that supposed to mean? That only idiots join the marines? They're supposed to be a bunch of dumb ass knuckle draggers? Is that it?

So what if Uncle Brett went took his super brain to the Air Force? Didn't do him any good did it? Great guy, smart as fuck, but he's still bumming all his cash off his girlfriend at 50.

And besides, as similar as we are, he's a hard science kind a guy. I'm not.

Way I see it, as my life stands, I have no reason not to join the marines.

So what if boot camp is hard? Would it be worth the time if it was easy?

And to be honest, I absolutely hate the idea of being some limp wristed intellectual. Be an intellectual by all means, but at least be a useful intellectual.

Maybe I'll take some college acting classes.

I would just like to mention, so you know, improv is just about the most fun a manic depressive furry could ever have, ever.

I have arranged to take more of these classes, not so much for improvement as fun. If I can learn a bit more, maybe meet some film peoples, it'll be worthwhile. If not, I'll still be having more fun than... Something that has lots of fun.

You should also know, ~GundamMeister wants to get our first issue done by June first. Since I haven't got even half of the scripts in, I am officially going to have to put most of my library time into the writing of these scripts.

Turns out he took my grandmothers car out to rob a Home Depot of all places. Apparently he was stealing shit to feed his heroin addiction. Which he has claimed many times to have ended.

We've found the needles, and he's claimed they were just left over hiding places from before he went inside the first time.

The cops came to my fucking grandmothers house. He cooperated, but asked if he could go upstairs and pray before the hauled him off. And this being Mormon country, they had no reason to believe that was not what he was going to do.

Of course the caught him snorting his stash. Which he was keeping in my grandmothers house! His mothers home. Just like he hid needles in her fucking visor in the car.

Fucking junkies! My uncle lost his business, his marriage, his friends, and he's still fucking using! FUCKING JUNKIES!

Am I the only one in this family who is staying out of fucking trouble!

I must say, when this started I was skeptical. I believed he could teach me, but I reserved final judgment.

That first lesson, when he actually demonstrated the different postures, Earth, water, fire, and wind. I knew then that he wasn't pulling my leg. He talks a hundred miles a minute and it all sounds crazy, but there is a level of spiritual logic to it. Plus he a polymath genius who got screwed up on meds a year or two back, so he'll overload your brain in two seconds if you're not careful.

But go damn! The man is operating on levels that don't have names yet!

I'm reluctant to swallow much of it, but I'm filing it away.

And if any of you want to better understand the ninja, there are a few books. Look up anything that has anything to do with a man named Tanemura, or his american student Stephen Hayes. Those are the introductory books.

My teacher is of the Genbukan school, so his grandmaster is Tanemura, who taught his teacher.

Keep in mind, this isn't the secret shit, I can't tell you the secret shit. Mostly because the secret shit is often crazy, sometimes mind blowing, and the rest is incomprehensible.

You want movies, the honest best example of Ninja teaching in film is the Karate Kid, kid you not. That and Star Wars, and the Matrix.

All that hair gets in your mouth a lot, and it starts to smell funny after that, shower or no.

And to tell the truth, I like it better, I'm almost semi-badass with my shirt off now. Whereas before I just looked evil, like I ate people.

Which is bad ass in a different, more morbid way that isn't a good idea if you're trying to get a job working with the public.


Oh, and did I mention I got fired again. No specific reason, they just had better options and they took them (at least that's what I think).

Plus I was kind of the odd man out. Everyone else was from another country, often didn't speak english, or spoke it poorly.

I was one of three white kids under the age of 30, and the other two were not too good looking, nerdy even (I thought I was a games nerd).

My computer access has been severly restricted, and I can't hook my own computer into the web, so my surfing will be limited. But just so everyone knows, my computer, the one upon which I write, functions perfectly aside from the lack of internet, and with my free time I've been writing.

I'e ben focusing on my Trade with ~JustRach, along with my entry into her contest, and I think they will be very satisfactory. I've been busy injecting as much bad ass as possible into her characters.

But when I get those done I'll drag my computer inside and upload. Hopefully this will be sometime withig this month.



Oh, and in other news, I've joined an RP, my first to be specific. =kuraichan invited me, they needed someone to be Zechs Marquise. That's been going well, Zechs is working on a large and daring plot to take over the whole RP universe. I'm not kidding, he's actually doing a good job to.

Other than that, I need to get back to playing MGS3 Subsistance. So good, I've got to play it a third time. Especially in prep for MGS4, once I get a job to pay for all that.

I mean, he contracts lycanthropy from a coin. Plus the fuzzy ears thing is starting to bug me. It's like every accomplishment my character achieves is atributed to the lycanthropy. He doesn't do anything interesting before, essentially he doesn't earn it. He needs to earn it.

I've improved as a writer to the point where I can't finish the story on the foundation I've built so far. It's too weak. And it's a crappy origin story.

Of course seeing as how the Trade I'm doing will be done before the origin story, I think I'm going to tell the story backwards to a certain degree. Since my trade with :idevjustrach: is set around 60 years after the origin, I think it will put Fen in a better light. Who he becomes is somewhat more interesting than who his is right now.

Plus since most of the truly life altering crap (not counting the end of the world) happens in between this trade and the origin story, I think it will make people wonder what happened to him and make them want to read the in between parts more...

But for an update let's start with roofing. That's most of what I'm doing right now, helping one of my fathers friends tear the roof off his knew house, which is actually a very old house.

It has several layers of roofing jobs which all have to be torn off. This means using hammers and roofing shovels in order to thoroughly soil ourselves with ancient and wholly toxic roof dust.

My job hunt, which you would of course know nothing about, nor would any of you care, but it's going slowly. This is mostly because, aside from being nigh on unhireable, I lack motivation. I could be on the street right now freezing and I wouldn't be motivated. It's difficult thing to instill in myself, motivation that is.


Of course then there's *JustRach's trade. That's going faster than almost everything else, meaning I've already written the prologue. So I'm happy about that.

Turns out Russ, the director, got a hold of an unfinished housing project from the sixtys that was never finished. It looks like a castle, and the nearby landscape looks like scotland. We even got consistent cloud cover.

There wasn't much set construction, the place honestly looks like a castle. We only had to do some creative filming to keep the metal railings and the city out of the background.

Turns out I'm now playing Ienec instead of Horse Man 1. I get less lines, but I'm in nearly ever scene.

First day was spent filming Tracy's scenes. She's playing Erika, and she gets interrogated by Mortto. I hold her, along with my counter part, Recci, who's real name I never caught.

Recci became an interesting character. He sat there playing with her hair and Russ proclaimed that he should do that when they started filming. He played his part very creepy. Russ even made this flippant comment that he should lick her hair.

Lo and behold, camera rolls, he does it. Russ could not stop laughing, half the crew couldn't shut up. Russ didn't expect him to do it.

Meanwhile I played the straight man of the two. Most of what I did was look imposing and cock an eyebrow at Recci. I'm playing Ienec as the self righteous holy man. I don't even think of what I'm doing as wrong, I doubt not my leader.

Of course later on, one of my few lines, alludes to doubt. At least I think. Personally, if there were a sequel, I think Ienec should be the primary focus. By the end he's imprisoned, and one of the few bad guys not killed right out. I figure he becomes disillusioned later, and a bit crazy. Who knows what happens to him.



But that was only a day of filming. The next day we did battle scenes. Except none of the extras, and many paid actors didn't show up. I'm getting to think that it's going to be the same, much smaller group that gets the film done.

Only a few actors and friends of actors showed up along with the fight choreographer. So we all trained a bit to use the weapons, got in costume. I wound up with a cowl to hide my face, since I'd had a close up already, the audience would recognize me.

My father and our meanest extras got to be the noticeable among the fighters, the ones in front with faces uncovered. We busted into the keep, young Mortto announced the keep now belonged to the church, and we yelled out a righteous war cry.

Then I chased an with my long dagger old woman along with another man, while one of the peasants beat a comrade to death with a stick. My father, during filming, managed to become Mortto's bodyguard and trusted soldier.

Our largest man, a crazy looking red head, about 6'4, with piercings all over, killed a man with a very large claymoor, while Young Mortto marched through our battle untouched.

Then later, our large man changed roles and became a large peasant. I got a real sword and uncovered my head, since we were going to be out of focus. I, along with many others, charged up the hill as our red head screamed "RETREAT!" I even got close enough to raise my sword to strike him before cut was called.


All in all, we got some good footage. Now only 40 some odd scenes to go.

On the real world, I'm in the movie. Do to certain communications break downs I don't yet know what my part is, or the filming schedule. But that's not a big deal, it's not like I missed a day of filming. Much less than a big deal in fact so why am I telling you.

Who knows, maybe I'll be the first famous furry. At least the first one not famous for being weird or screwing in a hotel lobby.

I hung out in a nearby coffee shop, reading for about an hour and a half, waiting for 8 o'clock. When time rolled around I walked down to the plaza, in which they had rented a space.

I sat in the anterior room for another hour or so, waiting for them to get everything squared away. Of course I could have gone in at any time, but I wanted their full attention and wanted to drill my lines a bit more.

Time rolls by, and I decide that I'm as ready as I'll ever be.

I stood on an X, the camera ready. The screen test began, I laid down my lines. I flubbed a few things, but for once in my life I didn't stop and try to say them again like you shouldn't do. I went straight through, accepting the screw-ups as holy truth.

When I was done I realized my legs were actually shaking. There wasn't a trace of fear, or nervousness on my face or in my mind, but they shook all the same. Adrenaline I guess.

They asked me to do it again, told me more what they wanted for the monologue. I followed their instructions, laid out the monologue again.

When I was done, my legs were still shaking, but by god I was loving every second of it.

The character I had read was an older man, and Rob, the director, his comment was "You played an old man, good work."

I said my goodbyes, put on my coat, and as I left, I began laughing like a crazy man. Because every single thing I had seen and heard had told me I had done it, I would have a real role in the film.

Afterwards I caught a bus into downtown SLC, which is a well made city. Won an award for best transit system, and I'm inclined to agree. Any city that caters to pedestrians is my kind of city.

I Got off early and walked to the library, where I spent most of the day reading more manga than than I knew what to do with.

After a little mix-up with my ride, I got back to Ogden with my father. We proceeded to acquire a subway sandwich, upon realizing I hadn't had a sandwich of any kind in ages. It was a good sandwich.


This was the best day ever.

The 14th of march I'm going down to Salt Lake City to audition for a part in "Malice". [link] I will be reading these lines, though I'm probably not going to be playing that character in particular.

So far they've guaranteed me a part, if not one of the 30 roles, I'll be an extra. They're shorthanded, and this is an independent film, so there's no cattle call.

I actually met with the director, he was at Grounds For Coffee when we pulled up. The funny part is I had my sword with me at the time, kind of appropriate since it's a period film set in the 1500s.

One of them even had a drama class under my current drama teacher, Ms. Schofield.

But they don't really care how much or how little experience I have, if you can say the lines well enough, a part you will have.

Another thing is I won't be getting paid right off the bat. Once the movie's made, they're going to mail it off to a few places. If it gets bought, we all get a percentage. If not, I've got some experience and something to put on a resume. A win win situation I'd say.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got six days to memorize a monologue and get it down pat. If all goes well, I'll have to memorize a fuck ton more lines. And for once the idea of more work actually excites me, things are looking good already.

On another note, since my last journal update I've played Call Of Duty 3, and am currently playing Crackdown. I also downloaded a fuck ton of demos on line, which explains my absence.


I think I'm going to erase Raharu Blues. I'll continue it, but I don't like this half assed front part clogging up my gallery. It sucks quite frankly, and I'm getting rid of it. Maybe I'll rewrite it later, as a prequal.

I'm also changing that panda character to something else. I mean come on, a panda? A panda person can not fulfill that role and it will be changed. I mean, a panda? I must have been on shrooms.

I'm also going to begin a story specifically for the ~TF-Writers . A club which I've been a member of for a while now. Of course I'll have to find out if they accept multiple chapters.

Because I don't do throw away characters, and I don't hammer my characters into roles they were not meant to be in. I'm very anal about that. And just submiting stuff I've already written seems wrong.


But none of this will occur until Fenrir is finished. However I'll definitly do one of these things before I go back and rework Fenrir.

Well, back to writing.

This is the reason I'm so stingy with my money, because I play a new game damn near every week.

I can't seem to play a game through more than once. Halo 3 lasted pretty long considering it was just another FPS. The only game I've played longer was Resident Evil 4.

I played that game through so many times waiting for twilight princess. I became a master of popping off up to 3 head shots on the same guy within seconds while he was flailing around.

HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL YOU CRAZY PEOPLE!!!

I just got done talking with a former speed junky friend of my dads. Good guy, says fuck a lot but a good guy. Apparently he spent some time installing computers with some tech nerds a while back.

Not any technical stuff mind you, he's a carpenter. Apparently one of them refused to shut up about World of Warcraft, followed him around and everything (sounds like me). So he dropped a ceiling tile on his head. Got away with it too since the boss wasn't about to pull a good carpenter off the job.

Don't know how that matters, but he managed to use the word "fuck" every second word. People say I swear too much for how smart I am. I say fuck that, I'm very tame when it comes to explitives. I make the F-word sound like I'm saying shnoogems.


So everybody enjoy your new years, get drunk, and make you expletives as sweet as honey.

Finally, all that saving of holiday checks has payed off. I got a brand spanking new Xbox 360. And because I had traded my gamecube in to get Gears of War earlier this year I have an awesomtastic game to play with it!

It's official, this is the best christmas I've had yet, and it's partly due to the lack of certain things. But that's another story.
