Journally Stuff

Well, I pretty much can't believe that tomorrow is Christmas Eve. It's kind of crazy how fast time seems to go by. Tomorrow may as well be Christmas Day, of course, because we're having all the celebrations tomorrow night. Hum.

I'm really sleepy. I turned on some music and I thought I was listening to it but then I realized my speakers were off. -shakes head-

But yuuuup. It was a long day. I was essentially babysitting my cousin and we spent the afternoon wrapping a huge pile of gifts and then shoveling a path to the front door through two feet of snow. I stepped clear off the porch at one point because there was so much snow, I couldn't tell where it ended. Fun times.

...Yeah. Feature time, maybe? -has been lazy with that- Mm'kaaaay... Just a small one because I'm deaaaad. Can't believe it's only 8 PM. Ahhh.

Anywaaaaays. I'm having a lovely day of alone time. It's needed. My grandmother is... a bit much. All the time. It's exhausting and I have no idea how my grandfather lives with her. Yesterday, being her usual sweet self, she told me that I "need" to lose ten pounds to be perfect. Thanks, grandma. You know how to make a girl love herself. [: Feh.

But yes... so. Now that I have a tablet, I'm trying to learn how to use it properly. It's going to take ages to master any kind of lineart with it. My lines are shaky. Tsk, tsk. I shall experiment though and eventually I will get the hang of this thing.

I guess I shall go now. I must busy myself eating pie to satisfy the need I have to spite my grandmother's wonderful idea of beauty. Good day to you all!

Ahhhh, the internet was out all day today up until now. I woke up at 11:30 to find it dead and just /now/ at fucking 9:42 PM, it's finally back. Most boring day of my life, I swear. Well, not totally. I got some things done that I would have otherwise not touched today. Ah well.

SO. My grandmother is coming tomorrow at about 6 PM. Hurrah. She'll be here until December 28th, I believe, and thus, I will be around only when I can... shall we say, /escape/. There's going to be a lot going on though. My brother's 18th birthday is coming up, I have to go see some lady for some boring appointment, Christmas party eventually, etc, etc. You know, typical holiday busyness.

ANYWAYS. After a whole day of staking out at the computer glaring at the internet icon, I'm kind of anxious to do more than just sit here writing a journal. But before I end this, I will make good use of my temporary ability to use thumbnails and do a quick feature.

So! The lovely *everdusk, also known as April, surprised me with a subscription this morning. After a bit of floundering around trying to figure out how one goes about CSS on dA these days, I finally figured it out enough to make a journal to thank her.

This morning I saw a lady feeding this ragged half-tailed squirrel out of the palm of her hand. I went for a walk in the park with my mom shortly after and noticed this couple screaming and kicking at that exact same squirrel as it ran after them for food. I couldn't help but laugh.

When we were passing the squirrel, my mom threw it an apple core and I said it'd be amusing if the squirrel were to follow us home. When we got back to the house a bit later, guess who was sitting on the lawn eating berries? Funny little thing that squirrel is.

Anyhow. I should stop procrastinating doing useful things with my time.
