my camera's broken! noooooooo! i should take it to the camera shop, but i'm scared they'll say it's irreparable or something... at least at the moment i can pretend that it's fine and i'm just not using it *sob*

on a much happier note, i'm an aunty again! Ellaine, my eldest sister, gave birth to her third son on saturday 19th july - Nathan Kane Owens ^^ tomorrow i'm helping her move, again. it's all on the go for poor Ellaine.

i'm still feeling at a loss after finishing uni, the feeling is yet to go away. although another feeling is encroaching on it, and that is the feeling that, although i have a degree, i am completely unqualified. i've been trying to find a job (i have to move from this flat and this town, i miss the countryside); but i'm finding that the jobs going with the hours and money i need require people with experience. so never i mind i have 2:1 degree in english, i havn't been working. so i feel a little cheated, even for things like publishing - i dont have experience. it's all very upsetting.
so instead i spend my time browsing letting-agents' websites looking for houses in kidwelly, and there's one i've fallen in love with, a three bedroom cottage with a proper cottage garden and bookshelves in the wall. tis beautiful. and very close to the castle (see gallery for pictures of said castle)

i'm feeling quite sick at the moment - never order any kind of pasta from wetherspoons, i should have learned from last time.

and it's 12.01 o'clock in the morning, and i've just had a cup of tea... so there's not much hope of me going to sleep for awhile... did you know there's more caffeine in tea than coffee? apparently this is true... join us in a couple of weeks when i shall be assed to update this journal and you can learn a new fun and useless fact.

speaking of learning i want to learn another language. i'm quite embarrassed by the fact that here in Britain, most of us can only speak one language, and most of the rest of Europe are mega clever and speak more. this discounts me to a certain extent because i speak two languages - i'm welsh and proud. but i see this as cheating, as not really an achievement... i probably knew more welsh at first than english. i started to learn mandarin, i bought a phrase book - which was difficult to learn from, because mandarin relies heavily on tones. so then i (that's a lie, kenj) downloaded a podcast... but it's a very difficult language. so i thought i'd start off on something easier, and something i already have basic knowledge on, and that's french ^^

But it's April! which means next month is my last assessment period which means that i'm finishing my degree soon! eek! i am SO excited. but scared. but at the same time crazy excited. i cant wait for my graduation ceremony. i'm going to go and have my hair done in an andrew price salon - splashing out ^^

not really sure what's going on with this journal at the moment. i'm not doing much photography (to be fair, since my a-level days i've not really had the time). i do like to upload the occasional one of Tabitha though. and there'd be more if she kept still long enough. i've been working on more oil pastels though... but my confidence is lacking in that area... although i enjoy doing them i'm not sure if they're good enough... maybe i'll just put them up anyway and people out there in devi land can judge. if you have any requests along that line let me know, i'm always looking for new ways to not write my dissertation.

but yes, so much has happened!

i have moved (being my first huge news). i am now living in carmarthen, with ~kenjimoose (my better half). we live in a first floor flat in a huge georgian townhouse. it's a steal and i love it ^^ massive sash windows... huge mantelpiece over where the fire used to be... floors that slope to the middle of the floor... etc etc

i'm not doing much photography at the moment, cos the only camera i have is my little digi one. i left my pentaxes at my parents' *wail* i shall have to get them back... and then maybe bother myself with waking my photographic instincts.

it's been busy though - i'm doing the final year of my english degree, and it's just a whole bunch of essays and a dissertation which i am of course not doing on time *sigh*

what else? we have a baby! she's fluffy and has a tail but we dont judge her... we just call her tabitha...

my sister is actually having a baby, she's a couple of weeks pregnant, it'll be her third and we're all very happy for her ^^ that's a lie, i'm very happy (excited, bouncy, etc) but my mum is worried... cos it wouldn't be here if she didnt =\

but anyway. i shall go now, and put one or two more pics up. breathe an ickle bit of life back into that gallery!

rofl several. my bed has a metal head-board and sitting on it are Stitch (from Disney's Lilo and Stitch), Sheepy (a black sheep kenj bought me from Clinton's), Perdy the Panther, Tia the Tiger (both christmas presents from kenj from BHS) and Bubble the owl (again from clinton's). i got dozens scattered around the room including Snoopy, Gizmo and the andrex puppy lol.

Very good book, highly recommend it. i havn't gotten very far into it yet... i'm not in a "ooooh i MUST read" kind of mood.... but still, vuuuury good book.

hmmm what to say....
i've had barely any sleep! woooot! me n kenj just stayed up all night talking because neither of us could sleep. then my father woke me up at 11.30 to ask if i'd be taxi tonight... which i can't cos i'm going out mwahahahahahahaha

odd things going on with uni, hmm. teaching practice went raaaather bad... and so i'm trying to transfer into the 2nd year of the english course... and see if i still want to be a teacher at the end of it. we'll see. i've yet to hear from college though as to whether or not they'll let me do this. it's been about three weeks. but there's lots of stuff like marking exams going on - i'm hardly a priority or anything.

i had a commission!!! whah hey for me me thinks... its like a paid one or anything, and it's for my arty farty page ~telwythteg. i've been drawing kitties with oil pastels, and someone's seen them and loved them and has asked me to draw their kitty

as usual, 3 films are expected.

1st film = capturing movement on long exposure using a strobe light... did not quite turn out as i'd hoped. based on work done by Harold E Edgerton.
2nd film = sandwiching negs. didn't work so i cheated using photoshop ^^ (it's not really cheating, i was told photoshop IS allowed).
3rd film = a series of images to give the impression of one move. based on work by Muybridge.

i play the bass, my mate lisa plays guitar (lead n rhythm) and jod sings. although lisa reckons i can sing too *pfft, me sing? yah, right*. we've got a couple of tabs to practice on, three nirvana ones (lisa's a big fan). we need a name tho. i came up with spunc. i thought it was funny, cos we're an all girl band, and it sounds like punk... but i dont think lisa likes that so much ah well.
