In 1991, in St. Petersburg Russia there was a little baby who was abandoned by her alcoholic birth mother in an apartment. She was only seven months old. The baby was found in a crib, wrapped up, crying, hoping for someone to hear her and help her. No one heard her. Soon, it was three days without food or water: the most important thing--a mother to guide her. Her mother had disappeared from her world.
The neighbors heard her crying and called the police. They arrived, got the baby girl and took her to the hospital to make sure she was OK. During that time the police were trying to locate her mother. They also talked to the neighbors and a cousin that came. Then they took the infant to the baby home where she was going to live for more than three years. The police still continued looking for her birth mother. Later, during the years at the baby home, she was getting check up's with the doctor to make sure she was still healthy. Then she was moved to the children's home (Detsky Dome). They put her in a Detsky Dome where there were kids with vision problems. She was only four years old.
The Detsky Dome was a two story white building that was home to 40 kids. The second story was split into four areas; each had a living room, kitchen, bathroom and a sleeping area. The first floor had the doctor's office where they got shots, a dance floor, the director's office, main kitchen, and a room where they got their eyes examined. The outside area was as big as two football fields together with a fence around it.
She lived with ten kids in the room she was assigned to. During her first two years there, she was getting into a lot of trouble. For instance, if she didn’t make her bed on time and get changed, she would get yelled at and sent to the closet. Another time, she refused to eat her food, so they tied her up on her chair until she ate.
She didn’t get into trouble all the time. In fact she helped the caregivers around the orphanage. Her responsibilities were to keep an eye out for Natasha who was half blind, feed the cats soup and milk, set the tables for meals (she hated doing that), and keeping the living area cleaned up. The other kids had their jobs too. As long as she did her chores it made her life easier.
She doesn’t remember, but her parents have told her that when they came to get her they brought clothes, candy, medicine, and a stuffed white bear. When they took her from the orphanage, they went to a hotel where they gave her a backpack that had a music player, tapes, a coloring book and crayons, and a koala bear beanie baby which she named Mushka.
They traveled on a train all night to get to Moscow where they had to go to make the adoption final. She also had to go to a clinic for a checkup and to get shots before she could come to America. That took about three days. Finally they went to the airport to get on an airplane and fly to New York. There she went through immigration and was able to get on the last flight to Phoenix. Finally she was going to see her new home.
Vika slept the whole entire way from New York to Phoenix. Her new mom woke her up when they landed. When the family got off the airplane in Phoenix, the mother was carrying the exhausted and tired Vika in her arms out of the exit ramp towards her new family. There was a group of people waiting to welcome her home. They had a big banner that said “WELCOME HOME” and colored balloons next to it. Vika was still really sleepy and was confused about her surroundings. She was pretty scared too. From the airport they went home.
When she got to her new American home, the first thing that happened was that her new older brother Dan showed her around. Dan was very excited to have a little sister to show around the new home that they would share from now on and keep him company. He gave her a tour around the house. There was a fire place, a kitchen, two bathrooms, three bedrooms. And one of those rooms was Vika’s. She had a bed with Mickey Mouse sheets, a book shelf with kid’s books and some toys and dolls (she didn’t like dolls at all). She also had a black lab dog named Amy. Vika was breathless with everything.
From then on during the days of her growing up it just became a blur. She was learning how to speak English and understanding the new rules of her new life. She was trying to make friends as well as stealing desserts off their lunch trays. Vika learned things that she had never done before like roller skating, riding a bike, and scooter. The foods were new and she didn’t understand why her mom wouldn’t understand that she wanted to take a walk in the morning. It was also frustrating that Vika wouldn’t get near the water. So it was a very slow process. It is important to me that you read this. I am frustrated! I don’t understand why my friends don’t act like friends. Friends don’t have fun with each other one day, then say mean things and don’t want to be with you the next day. Friends don’t call you names, say untrue things about you, or make fun of you. Real friends care about each other. They look out for each other, and they try to find ways to work out their differences.


Maybe, because I am small for my age, you think you can treat me like a child. Is that why you don’t give me the respect I deserve as a 17-year-old young woman? Don’t you know that I have been through all of the same stuff that you have? I’ve had really good times and some really bad times. Sometimes I’m happy. Sometimes I’m sad. Sometimes I get anger and sometimes I’m just plain bored. I have the same feelings that every teenager has. I am a unique person, but I share a lot of things in common with every one. I’m not that different.


So, wake up, people! If you don’t want to be my friend just say so. If you do want to be friends with me, then act like it. We can have a lot of fun with each other, do interesting things, and discover new and cool information about each other and the world we share.

when my parents woke me up from bed they had to say something very important. thay said "something happened today" i was so confused i asked "What?" thay sad that Tomei had died today.Tomei is my dads brothers wife. Yes she is Japanese and she is my favorite person to see when i visit my dads side of the family. She was very important to me. Before she became a part of the family i was very lonely when i visited my dads side of the family. when i found out that one of my dads brothers was geting married to a Japanese woman i was very excited. when i first started to talk to her she listened to me and we became good friends. She was teaching me Japanese. Her parents brought food from japan and she told us about samarai stories and history, She taught me how to write my name in Japanese. She took us to a Japanese restaurant when we visited last time. She was very quiet but I liked it because she was very calming. My uncle is quiet and calming too. We don't know if we are going nto be able to go to her funeral. We don't know if it will be in Japan or the US yet. I hope I can go. She was so wonderful. I will miss her alot. I didn't know her for that long but it felt like she was a really, really close friend to me.

Yeah, I don't know what to write...
I'm adopted from Russia and I moved to the United States when I was six and a half.
I really love anime! Especially Gravitation! I ♥ Yaoi! and shounen-ai (it's better!)
I went to the Phoenix Cactus Comicon with the Anime Club at my school and cosplayed as samurai/assassin/Kyrui from Rurouni Kenshin. You probably saw me. If you did, add me!
I'm extremely small (only 4'8"), dark hair, and pale.
I love Japanese guys! My goal in life is to date a Japanese and guy and to live in Japan. XD There's no Japanese guys at my school... only Chinese! >.<

After school, I had a good time. I went with my brother and his girlfriend and my parents to Yasu Sushi Bistro. There was a huge table of Japanese guys sitting and I wanted to talk to them ,but my brother wouldn't let me. They were playing Miyazaki films and Samurai Champoo music in the restaraunt. It was really awsome. We some awsome people there who were really smart.
The owner of the restaraunt is the chef and his name is Yasu. The manager does the music and stuff and he's pretty cool.
What I got for my birthday:

Kaito Suzuki discovers a video game, Gamerz Heaven, that transports him to another different dimension. Upon arriving in the bizarre new world, Kaito discovers a cute little boy known as the "navigator," which he names Nata. Everyone in Gamerz Heaven is out to capture Nata, and Kaito can only beat the game by saving him. This will be difficult for Kaito, as Gamerz Heaven is only a beta version with a limited number of saves. Kaito soon discovers in that everything that happens in Gamerz Heaven affects the real world, and characters that die in the game are wiped from the memories of everyone in his dimension.

Tohru Honda is 16 year old orphaned girl who gets invited to live in the house of her classmate, the handsome boy Sohma Yuki, and his cousins, 16 year old Kyo and 27 year old Shigure. However, these young men and parts of the rest of their family (both close and distant) hold a curse; if they are hugged by the opposite gender, they transform into animals of the Chinese Zodiac. Everyday is an adventure for sweet Tohru, as she gets to know all of the very different members of the Sohma family better (especially Yuki and Kyo), in both common and bizarre situations. But, the Sohma family curse is certainly no laughing matter... it also holds horrible cruelity and heartbreak.
Tohru Honda's mom died from a car accident, so she moved in with her grandfather. But, her grandfather decides to remodel his house, and because she can't live with her friends while the remodeling is being done, she decides to live in a tent. One morning, while walking to school, she comes across this house where the most popular boy at her school lives, and soon finds out his family's secret. The whole Sohma family are zodiac animals, and when the get hugged by the oppisite sex, they turn into their zodiac form. Tohru must be careful and keep this secret, or her memory might be erased.

In the movie they had dialogue that was good. One of the things that they did was have a normal conversation with a dramatic feel to it. The cinematography needed more lighting so that you could see the people more clearly. I think that in the past, they didn't have good equipment so things were darker. Now it would be much better quality of shading and lighting. Last but not least, the special effects were not realistic and i did not care for them. There were bats staying in place moving their wings up and down, and when Dracula bites Lucy she doesn't scream during the actual bite. but the screams afterwards. Dracula (1931) deserves 3 out of 4 stars because of the acting, scenery and plot. Even though the cinematography and special effects were not as good as they should have been back then, it was still a good story.

I did this in English class. Dracula is my second favorite movie.
